Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Hi, did my first day back on WW yesterday, and was really pleased with myself. I am glad that fruit is free! I am planning on a light fish supper, while dh and 2 dds are tucking into pancakes, but at 3pp per pancake. I might just rustle up a small one for myself. Does anyone know if you mash the banana and then freeze does it come out ok? Surely this would be easier on the blender blades! I will try it out today.

Also, Kallo wholegrain large rice cakes, does anyone know the pp for one of these? Thank you. I will let you know how I got on with the bananas.

onetiredmummy · 12/02/2013 14:39

Hi all,

I don't have time to read the whole thread Blush but is it open to anyone?

Just did my first week :)

Stickwithit · 12/02/2013 14:42

Hi assumpta, the rice cakes are 1pp each according to ww tracker, if they are the ones that are 8g each.

Stickwithit · 12/02/2013 14:43

Of course onetiredmummy welcome. It's a really supportive thread.

assumpta · 12/02/2013 14:52

Stickwithit - thank you. Yes they are the 6g ones. After trawling through loads of info in folder, albeit old, it is still a guide, it says 3 cakes 21g is 2pp, so I guess that I am better off having 3! Banana mess made and in freezer, I presume it is still point free.

Well done on your first week. I hope I can say that next week. Day by day for me.

jazzcat28 · 12/02/2013 15:29

assumpta there is a WW recipe which makes 12 pancakes at 1pp each

NoWayNoHow · 12/02/2013 16:51

Hey all. Welcome to the newbies!

Sorry, I've not had a chance to catch up this week. I have an op to remove my gallbladder on Thurs, so whilst in try to stick within my points (having drunk squandered all my weeklies on Fri/Sat), I'm not quite managing it and, tbh, I'm not massively bothered this week. Just feel like I have a lot of other things to think about, and can't see how I'm going to get through this wek without straying over my dailies once, so might just try to look after myself this week and start afresh next week once I'm recovered. Fully expecting a sts/gain at WI on Friday!

MrsRudyRudpoo · 12/02/2013 17:47

Hi everyone. Just got back from week 3 weigh in and I've lost NOTHING!!! How can this be?! I didn't use a single weekly, not due on period and tracked every mouthful. I'm so disapointed. I lost 4.5lbs week 1, 2lbs week 2 and was feeling really positive. Anyone else had this?

OhTheConfusion · 12/02/2013 18:30

2nd weigh in and a 2lb loss Smile so only 1lb to get to half a stone!

Awww MrsRudy, thats pants :-( Perhaps you will lose more next week?!? I know my WW leader swears by eating your weeklies if that is any help. Did you exercise last week etc?

I could be doing with a buggy buddy for power walks but all my friends either have toddler (who just don't power walk) or we can't get a time that suits Sad. Think it would motivate me further.

assumpta · 12/02/2013 18:53

Jazzpants : where can I find the recipe for pancakes?

onetiredmummy · 12/02/2013 19:01

Thanks Stickwithit

This is my 7th day & I've lost 5lb :)

Are the weeklies the weekly amount of propoints? I didn't touch them at all.

OhTheConfusion · 12/02/2013 19:34

Yes thet are Onetired. I have been eating (or drinking) my weeklies so far... is everyone else?

OhTheConfusion · 12/02/2013 19:35

Ps, well done on 5lbs off!

MrsRudyRudpoo · 12/02/2013 20:10

Well done on the losses everyone!
Ohtheconfusion - I didn't do loads of exercise, powerwalking to school a bit and did shred twice. Will step that up a bit this week. Maybe I should try using the weeklies, though I don't see how eating more would make me lose. Grr I'm so fed up! My leader said that we will see if I lose next week and if not 'then we will start to worry'Confused

jazzcat28 · 12/02/2013 20:15

WW pancake recipe from their app/site as follows

Makes 12 at 1pp each

125g plain flour
1 egg
142ml skimmed milk
Fry light

Sift flour, beat in egg and milk, fry in pan with fry light

onthemetro · 12/02/2013 20:29

I tend to eat around half of my weeklies, I don't drink so they just get used on little treats or things like Ovaltine and warm milk and honey (which I neeeeeed when ill like this week!). On my first week I used them all, and I put on half a pound Blush but it's different for everyone, so experiment and see what works for you.

Just had a stir fry for 7pp, points were all from the rice noodles and the rest was 0pp stir fry veg and soy sauce/fish sauce Smile I'd post it on the recipe thread but it's not much of a recipe Grin

This is so I have room for pancakes Grin I'm doing the WW recipe too, hope it's nice!

OhTheConfusion · 12/02/2013 20:31

It is frustrating MrsRudy.

I asked why eating them helped as I felt I was eating LOADS considering I was on a diet Confused but WW leader said it was the minimum WW advised you to have and it then ment if you go over slightly or fall into a vat of chocolate (she said it like it would be a bad thing Hmm) then the body won't try and hold onto every spare calorie because it knows you never starve it... im still a bit Hmm but losing weight so will continue until something changes.

I need to try and keep up the exercise and drink more water... again who knew filling myself with water would make me weight less Hmm. I do sometimes use up my weeklies on a glass of fruit juice if not really hungry.

GingerLemonTea · 12/02/2013 21:37

MrsRudy, I've only had 0.5 pounds loss on weeks 3& 4. It's disheartening, but trying to stick with it!

Weigh in tomorrow. Think it will be a close call. I have completely stuck to dailies, used up all my weeklies, done more walking, but not touched any activity points.

jazzcat28 · 12/02/2013 21:39

confusion I think there must be something in what your leader said - I lost 3.5lbs after a week which included a dominos pizza (counted within my weeklies allowance) I was shocked and then next week I stuck to it religiously and had no treats and only lost 0.5lb. I think your body can go into starvation mode and rather than shed fat it holds onto it so maybe thats why we have weeklies. Also they must be something to do with real life eating - so when we all reach goal we know how to eat sensibly without being deprived of meals out, chocolate etc. if we didn't do this I guess we'd all be back on the diet again after 4 months of going crazy!

GingerLemonTea · 12/02/2013 21:41

Those of you getting close to the 5 week mark, keep it going! Keep on, keeping on!
According to Daily Mail article, 5wks 2 days is a critical time.....

power on through

Doretaball · 13/02/2013 05:11

Ah, thanks Ginger. So that explains why I ate the entire contents of an Indian restaurant last night!!

On a more serious note, how do I point it? I only had 10pp left for my dinner but we had a bit of bad news and so the next thing I knew we were eating take away? Should I try and point what I had or just write off all my weeklies and be really strict for the rest of the week?

The emotional eating gets me every time! I was so full of determination this week. I had my baby weighed on Monday and she was 16lbs, so I thought if I could lose 2lbs this week, she'd weigh what I've lost! May have to wait until the end of next week for that little milestone!

Here's sending lots of super motivating vibes out for the next few days!

mrsv2 · 13/02/2013 08:17

week 1 loss is 1.5lb.............id really hoped for me so feel really disappointed, silly i know but when ive done ww in th past the first week i have had 5+ lb loss. I think jazzcat is right though, this does seem a more 'real life' long term diet as i have had a cooked breakfast, chocolate and pancakes and biscuits......all pointed and still only used half my weeklies, food which ive never been able to eat on previous diets.

SallyBear · 13/02/2013 08:40

I'd lost 5lbs last week after the flu, so if anything I was expecting a gain as I had my period this week. WI today and very shocked to learn that I have lost 2.5lbs. That's a total loss of 16lbs since 2 Jan. genuinely shocked as I have lost every week.

So all I can say is "Thank you ladies!" This thread has been such an inspiration and a comfort. I hope that the rest of you are also finding it a great help in your battle with the bulge. Grin

assumpta · 13/02/2013 09:50

sallybear - that is brilliant. Well done you. Have you found it easy enough or quite difficult? What type of thing did you eat each day?

MrsRudyRudpoo · 13/02/2013 10:05

So pleased to see others are losing, gives me a bit more faith in this! Will try using some weeklies this week. Have looked back on my app and the last week didnt even use all my daily points so going try and eat more this week. Goes against all my insincts when trying to lose weight!
