Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Aw forks, I know that feeling :( it's horrible, but think of it as something that'll soon be in your past. Just keep at it and slowly but surely things will start to change.

Welcome tennessey! Well done on reaching your goal last year, 4lbs will be off in no time :)

Flatmouse, well done on the loss! I know what you mean about wanting it all to happen NOW, I feel the same! But any loss is a step in the right direction :D I like to remind myself that it didn't all go on in a week so it won't all come off in a week! I have about 40lbs to go now too, after losing a stone last year and 5lbs so far this year.

I'm trying to stick to frozen veg where possible (including onions!), and tinned fruit. But I've been buying a lot of grapes and they're not all that cheap! DP works from home so he goes to Tesco around 4.30 every other day to see what reduced things they have - I find that helps a lot for meat and veg. Though we do then have to cook them that day, but we freeze a lot of meals so it works out ok. We've been living on bolognese and curries from the freezer for a few weeks Grin

I'm feeling a bit crap this morning, seem to have come down with a bit of a chest infection or something similar. I was in agony yesterday with chest pain and skin tenderness (I couldn't even knit because the knitting needles were so cold they really hurt my hands!). DP made me warm milk and honey, which my DM used to make for me all the time when I was little and ill Smile ...that made me use 4 of my weeklies though when I was planning on saving them, boo! Oh well.

I'm off to work, going to walk up instead of catching the train in the hope of earning some points! Have a good day everyone.

SallyBear · 11/02/2013 09:23

Hello all!! I had a fabulous day out yesterday with some fellow MNrs. We had lunch in the Real Greek, and I came home and pointed it all. Gulp. I don't eat anything else all day, but still.... Gulp. I ate all my dailies plus 26 of my weeklies. Dear God. I'm living on a lettuce leaf and water to get over the trauma. Don't expect a loss from me this week, probably a gain Confused

Hi, I had planned my morning around my first weight watchers meeting since back in early 2012. I am snowed in! Can't get out of my road. I am really disappointed as I have myself all ready to go, and this is the only time I can get out this week. I have not too much to lose, but I have high cholesterol, and could def do with changing my eating habits.

I have weighed myself and I am 10st 4.75lbs, 43 years and about 5ft 4", (164cm). I don't have my old info that tells me how many points I am allowed daily, does anyone know how I work it out.

Is everything else the same, as in, working out of the blue pro points folder? Thank you so much for your help.

INeedThatForkOff · 11/02/2013 13:07

It will be 26 + your 49 weeklies asumpta.

Thanks for empathising. It was like one of those horrible naked lunch dreams, I felt so self conscious. And stupid for making it all about me (in my head).

mrsv2 · 11/02/2013 13:25

Can I have suggestions for lunches please..... Around 6pp, filling and easy and possibly what my nearly 2 yr old would eat too

CiderwithBuda · 11/02/2013 13:54

Hello! I just posted on the old thread. For some reason missed that there was a new one! I thought you had all given up!

Anyway. I have had yet another bad week really. And have gained a kilo.

So I have decided I need a change and am trying the 5-2 diet. First fast is today. Plan is to fast Mondays and Thursdays. I will eat sensibly the rest of the time so may still do WW and the HD cooking. I feel that 6 months of yo-yoing on WW has demoralized me although it is my own fault. But that constant feeling of failure is following me around like a bad smell! I need a boost.

assumpta · 11/02/2013 14:35

Ineedthat - thank you for that. One of my friends thought it was 29. But I wanted to be sure.

Doretaball · 11/02/2013 14:42

Cider - always good to try something new to re motivate you. Good luck!

I've weighed in today and lost another 1.5lbs so am thrilled to bits as that's my first full stone! Yippee. Not sure how much to go. Am 11.9 now so will see how I feel when I get to 11 stone.

Mrsv2 - I've been eating wraps for lunch with lots of salad and either tuna or ham or chicken. The ww wraps are 3pp each or 5pp for 2 if you're hungry! And then it's just the filling you have to point. Normally comes in between 5 and 7 depending on the filling.

My other staple lunch is soup. If its no point soup, I'll have 2 slices of bread but if the soup has meat, beans or lentils etc, I'll just have one.

I'm just about getting used to the smaller portions for lunch. I used to be a 4 slices of toast kinda girl! Hence why I ended up on Ww!

mrsv2 · 11/02/2013 15:07

Cider..... My DH is doing his own version of 5:2.... Also Mondays and Thursdays. His involved lots of Weetabix for his tea and fruit at dinner/ breakfast. Not very sustainable but no doubt he'll lose a stone really quickly and think its fab until he eats normally again!
I've had soup fir lunch 3 days running with ryvita/ oatcakes and I'm bored already. I love toast with eggs, beans, cheese etc but seems so high in points.

mrsv2 · 11/02/2013 15:29

I've just weighed out the salmon I've got for tea.... 1.5 portions worth and its not particularly large yet my sirloin yesterday was a perfect size and just 1 portion and I only needed 0.5 portion of chips. Sometimes this diet doesn't make sense lol

flatmouse · 11/02/2013 16:45

Fish for me too tonight. Got some white fish out (not sure what it is). Planning on roasting some peppers, onions, carrots, mushrooms, garlic, chilli (whatever else in fridge that looks roastable) then about 15 mins before end sticking the fish fillets in with some baby plum tomatos (were in oil but drained and we had half for tea last night with pasta and feta). Oooh and serving with couscous. Shouldn't be too bad points wise, 4 for fish, 2 for tomatos, poss 2 for extra oil, 3 for couscous.

Was watching Saturday Kitchen or similar whilst ironing (on Saturday) and Jodie Prenger (think that her name - won ALW Oliver!) mentioned banana ice cream - made with JUST BANANA eg recipe - thought i might make for pudding for Saturday (when we go to friends we take pud), so that'd be free - but what with? Looked at WW gingerbread at 3pp but realised the peices for 3pp are TINY! (I'm one of those who would rather spend their points on wine and savoury than sweet) - any suggestions to go with the "free ice cream"? Thanks!

mrsv2 · 11/02/2013 17:48

Flatbread.... What about pancakes and maple syrup with your ice cream. 1pp for pancake and 1pp for 1tbspn syrup

mrsv2 · 11/02/2013 18:09

Flat mouse I mean not flatbread..... Haha that's because I'm obsessed by food

didireallysaythat · 11/02/2013 18:19

Fell off the wagon last week. I comfort eat. And 10% of the company losing their job seemed like a reason to comfort eat...

But if I'm going to be unemployed, I don't want to feel bad about my weight and be unemployed, I want to be slim, confident and taking the opportunity to find something more interesting to do anyway. So I need to get back on the wagon....

SuzySuzSuz · 11/02/2013 20:26

Yay new thread!

Well today's WI is a fresh start for me, joined ww last October, lost about 8lb which then put on over Dec and Jan so am now almost back at my orig start weight Blush

However have drawn my line (!) and recalculated my 5% target, so feeling pretty motivated right now Smile I'm pleased I got myself back to my meeting today as this is usually a time when I'll slink off quietly and quit.

My issue is emotional / sad / happy / reward / bored eating, I'm working on it!

chillyigloo · 11/02/2013 20:45

chillyigloo pops out to chop bananas and put them in the freezer. She is a very excited lady about the prospect of FREE ice cream!

jazzcat28 · 11/02/2013 21:04

Can someone please give the link to the recipe thread again? It's dropped off my 'threads im on' page...

Welcome Suzy! You'll find this thread is very addictive supportive - lots of cheeky substitutes are available for when you fancy a bit of emotional eating. I am a personal fan of the curly wurly at only 3pp each but someone last week also pointed up those mini malteser bunnies and they are 1pp each or 3pp for two.

didireally draw yourself a crunchie line ___ start again now, it'll be ok in the long run just don't give up totally!

I'm going for a light salmon dinner tomorrow so I can indulge in some pancakes with DH after

Struggling a bit with attending course this week and avoiding crisps/sweets/cakes, but survived today with my packed lunch and have bought a bag of malteser bunnies for tomorrow!

mrsv I live on low point soup and ryvita for my lunches but this week am having sandwiches made with tuna/egg mayo + lots of salad or wafer thin ham and low fat soft cheese. If at home then a good option is an omlette made with 2 eggs, 1 rasher bacon and lots of mushrooms - 5pp

Am determined to lose 2lb this week as will have broken my first 'stone barrier' (i.e. my weight will start with a different number, but won't have lost a full stone yet)

Livinginorganisedchaos · 11/02/2013 22:02

Forks You have my sympathy, I have been the fat breast feeding friend at more weddings than I care to remember. I hated having to wear the too casual wrap dresses for ease of breast feeding while my skinny childless friends walked around looking fabulous in designer clothes. One memorable wedding also involved my DD pooing over me during the group photographs.

Draw a line and get back tracking, you will see a loss again soon and feel much better for it.

I tried a WW recipie for dinner last night and it was delicious, it was the midweek pork roast with veg and even DH mentioned how tasty it was. I had the leftovers tonight again and it tasted just as nice second night in a row!

INeedThatForkOff · 11/02/2013 23:44

One memorable wedding also involved my DD pooing over me during the group photographs.

Grin DD yelled 'I wetted my pants!' at the beginning of the father of the bride's speech Blush

Also my cousin's (wanker) DH kept suggesting I have a Diet Coke as it had my name all over it whilst perving at my norks

CiderwithBuda · 12/02/2013 12:58

Hi all.

Well I did my first fast on the 5-2 yesterday and found it fine. Weighed at home this morning and had lost the kilo that I put on over the weekend so that is good.

Then I went to my WW meeting and have gained a pound on last week's weigh in. Very glad i did the fast or the damage would have been greater.

I think I am going to still do WW with the fasting days and see how that goes over a few weeks.

Have just had a tortilla wrap with tuna salad and a pancake for lunch. I think it is roast chicken tonight. With pancakes of course!

mrsv2 · 12/02/2013 13:27

How many pp in a pancake???

Stickwithit · 12/02/2013 13:55

Good question, I'm craving pancakes. There is a recipe on the WW site which says they are 1 pp each, but I can't work out how much milk they need it says half serving / 142 ml milk. I'm not sure what this means?

Anyway recipe for 12 is: 125g flour, 1 egg, half serving /142 ml milk (Confused), 1 spray oil. Allows 3 tbsp batter per pancake.

Stickwithit · 12/02/2013 13:57

Should have also said, well done cider. Sounds like you have limited the 'damage' really well. Good luck with your amended version of WW.
