Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

just had a malteser bunny........thought 1pp was too good to be true its actually 4pp :( i take it the ones in the bag are smaller than this one. This was a 29g one so please check which ones you have

GingerLemonTea · 13/02/2013 22:11

2.5 pounds off tonight. Am pleased. That's 9.5 in 5 weeks. Slow & steady.

Mrsv2 I thought they were 2pp for a small one or 3pp for 2 small, 4 for a normal size one.

tennesseyhennessey · 14/02/2013 08:00

Hello! Weigh in today and ive lost 1.5 of the 4 i put on. Very pleased as i caved and indulged in pancakes and icecream on tuesday, which i didnt point Blush

mrsrudy i got to goal in 5 months last year and every week ate every daily, weekly and some exercise. With the exception of the 2 weeks i was on holidayi lost every week!

mrsv malteaser bunnies are my downfall, i love them! They're always 2 for a £ 1 or 69p each, i always end up buying 2!and scoffing them Argghhhhhh!

flatmouse · 14/02/2013 09:04

Last night i had pasta, tomatoes, feta cheese, green beans, chorizo. Was yummy.

Tilly i have 28 dailies at the moment, but i tend to have fruit for breakfast if having bread roll for lunch and porridge for breakfast if having low point soup for lunch, so generally have only used 10 pp by the time the evening rolls around (not one for snacking apart from post evening meal with wine nibbles which obviously is why i'm here in the first place). I just feel (altho getting the exercise points) i'm really putting the effort in with exercise which is why i want to increase it - what i get at the moment is from the daily dog walks. Maybe when the weather improves a bit i can motivate myself to get out of bed and shred/jog.

Plenty of points saved for wine tonight (without using my winelies which i like to keep for the weekend). Sea bass for tea, not decided yet how to cook it/what to have with. Noway good luck today - your valentines meal sounds delicious!

Ginger and Tennessey well done on weight losses!

backinaminute · 14/02/2013 09:11

I've felt like death warmed up for the past couple of days and nearly fallen off the wagon a couple of times. I had to go into town yesterday and it was freezing and I was full of cold, and hungry and it took every ounce of will power not to buy a steak pasty from Greggs as I walked past. I could technically have done it within my points but a bit of slippery slope I feel. Instead I went to M&S and bought some prawns and had them in a wrap with some spinach and rocket. I made some 0 point dressing out of extra light mayo, small bit of ketchup and Lea & Perrins and was lovely. I was very proud of myself. It's so hard when you feel rubbish. I've got 2 butternut squashes to make some soup with today but not even sure I can be bothered to make it when the sofa and a blanket is so appealing. Ds1 has gone to nursery so think I'm just going to snuggle with 11 week old ds2.

It has got me thinking though that's need to do some exercise. I am literally the un-fittest person who ever was. I haven't really done any exercise for years well ever reallyand I have downloaded the couch to 5k podcasts this morning. Seems so much easier when you've got no intention of doing it today. I need some trainers and an industrial sports bra (that should delay doing it a bit longer too). It's the boob issue that puts me off.

I can't leave ds2 for more than an hour, because of his erratic feeding pattern (as in no pattern at all) so it limits classes and the such like but 30 mins seems doable. I also like the idea of fresh air rather than a DVD. Has anyone else tried it? I see there are some other groups on mumsnet and I've lurked on there. I'm wondering if I can find an unfit friend to rope into doing it with me.

After reading on here I'm going to use my weeklies this week and see what happens. I haven't touched them yet (as I have a huge daily allowance) but going to have a take away with friends on Saturday night. I'm very excited. Grin

Well done everyone on your losses. I can't believe how well we are all doing. My WI tonight so will report back. I've lost 11lbs so far so would like at least 1.5lbs tonight and the same next week to break my first stone barrier.

I live hearing how everyone is doing, it's fab and so much support.

flatmouse · 14/02/2013 09:53

backinaminute hope you feel better soon. I've got a couch to 5k app, but i just can't stick with the program, i tend to prefer to DIY on that. (Have previously built up to 10km but that was about 3 yrs ago).

Forgot to mention - whizzed my frozen bananas in food processor last night - looked like breadcrumbs until i pressed with spoon, was gorgeous smooth and creamy (banana flavoured) 0pp ice cream! DS has already got plans for it "with honey", "with strawberries", "with chocolate" :)

backinaminute · 14/02/2013 10:38

Thanks Flatmouse. Ice cream sounds amazing. Will have to give it a go.

jazzcat28 · 14/02/2013 11:00

Need your help today people - I need a quick satisfying evening meal for one I can cook for myself after yet another 12hr day. Am very tempted to just pick up a pizza or chips on way home but weigh in sat morning so am so close and don't want to fall off the wagon!

MrsRudyRudpoo · 14/02/2013 11:12

Ok had all my points yesterday and pretty sure there won't be any left by the end of today, i'm planning steak and chips for tea!
Oscarandelliesmum, shred is going well so far, i'm only on day 4 though so we shall see! I'm pretty unfit but I find that if I do it as soon as I get home from dropping dd at school I just get on with it as it's only 20 minutes long. If I leave it until later in the day I forget can't be arsed

OhTheConfusion · 14/02/2013 12:02

Well done to all the 'losers'... we are making some team!

Well I have given up sweets and biscuits for lent Confused and have really found that being organised has helped me to stay on track. I am planning my meals to avoid 'what can I eat for lunch/dinner' because that is my downfall!

Just got the M&S valentines deal. Both DH and I are not going to be home till 7ish so have figured the following... choc's to the kids, wine stashed away for weekend, scallop starter is going in tomorrow nights stirfry, sirloin steak (200g and looks fab 10pp), 1/2 pack of potato, mozarella and tomato bake (only 4pp) served with a large rocket salad and I took the strawberries for pudding (will serve with count on us choc mouse 2pp).

Noway... hope all has gone well.

Backinamin, I wear a normal bra with a sports bar over the top Blush.

backinaminute · 14/02/2013 12:34

Confusion - good plan, think I will try that.

Jazzcat - how about an omelette? You could have an amazing one for that many points. 3 medium eggs are 5 points, bulk out with mushrooms, some ham and maybe some cheese. It's always my back up 'meal for one'.

I was by myself last night and tonight and feeling feeble and sorry for myself. I bought 2 M&S fuller for longer ready meals and had Pad Thai last night. I don't normally buy ready meals but it was really nice and only 10 points. I'm having the paella tonight (11 points). Feels a bit like treat food (I too have been tempted by take away).

Also the Pizza Express Light supermarket pizzas work out at about 11 points for the whole thing and are really nice if you're having a pizza craving.

jazzcat28 · 14/02/2013 13:00

Thanks backinaminute

I will have 15pp left for dinner so might go for omlette... I have bacon mushrooms cheese and eggs. Also have pasta and tinned tomatoes so could make some sorta pasta sauce.

I am really hoping for a good loss this week as am so close to my first stone (3lbs needed)

flatmouse · 14/02/2013 14:21

jazzcat bacon, mushrooms, cheese, eggs, pasta - got to be a version of carbonara ? (Yum re bacon, am getting to the point that i need a bacon fix and want to do it in a controlled manner!)

jazzcat28 · 14/02/2013 15:23

I'm leaning towards cooked breakfast to include eggs beans bacon and mushrooms at the mo...

SuzySuzSuz · 14/02/2013 15:26

Oooo I'm liking the frozen banana whizzed up ice cream idea! I have loads of bananas in the freezer as never eat the bunch before they turn - normally go in a banana loaf but trying to stay away from temptations until I'm a bit better with my will power Smile will defo be giving the ice cream a go!

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2013 18:16

Oooh might try the banana ice-cream too!

backinaminute · 14/02/2013 20:17

I've just been to my WI and I lost 3lbs which means I've hit a stone since i started. Wahay!! I'm so chuffed. That's a stone in 6 weeks. Grin

I'm just not thinking about the other 3 to go but it's obviously working.

DebussyHead · 14/02/2013 20:19

Does anyone know how fish oil capsules should be Pointed? I'm taking 3 a day as daily supplement and not pointing them as figure they don't count but I prob should.

Tonight's valentine meal:
Loch Fyne oysters (delivered packed in ice to our door this morning and only 1pp for 6)
Prawn linguine from WW cook book
Fat free espresso cake I made from WW online recipe (hope it isn't crap fat free cake sounds rubbish!)
2 glasses of cava

Now if only the baby would actually stop crying I might have a chance if cooking and eating it before midnight! Arggh!

DebussyHead · 14/02/2013 20:21

Congrats backinaminute great loss. I'd be bloody delighted if I lost a stone in 6 weeks. Only week 2 for me and reading these great losses is what keeps me on the wagon.

jazzcat28 · 14/02/2013 20:25

congratulations backinaminute!!!! A stone in 6 weeks is a great start, just think how much you might have lost by Easter!

As long as i lose each week I'll be happy. A loss is a loss and the moment I start putting on or staying the same I'll give up.

I've lost 11lb in 5 weeks so might match your stone on Saturday!

NoWayNoHow · 14/02/2013 20:40

Congratulations on some fantastic losses! Absolutely brilliant!

And it sounds like there are some lovely meals happening tonight...

No lovely meals here - in an enormous amount of pain post-op, so have just had a little bit of the stir fry I was supposed to have last night but was too nervous to stomach!

It's so nice to see how supportive this thread is - we're all going to lose heaps!!

chillyigloo · 14/02/2013 20:46

Ginger That's what I work out the bunnies as too. Mini bunnies are 2pp each or 2 for 3pp (which is a total pp bargain in my opinion Grin) Big bunnies are 4pp each.

Psychologically, the process of unwrapping TWO bunnies is great for me. And I usually split them over 2 tea breaks which makes it feel like I'm never depriving myself.

(Can I please borrow someone's weeklies to cover tonight's feast?!)

NoWayNoHow · 15/02/2013 07:12

Grrr, back in AHE with complications - yes again can't drink, and yet again starving! All this should be great for my next WI (whenevr that will be!)

Good luck for anyone WI today - what's everyone up to this weekend? living vicariously through you all

NoWayNoHow · 15/02/2013 07:13

"A&E" even (typing on morphine Grin )

flatmouse · 15/02/2013 08:09

:( NoWay, hoping for a quick recovery for you (and a major good WI when you get to it!).

I did edge into my weeklies last night - the killer nibbles whilst drinking, but i limited myself to a 4pp pack of snackrite ready salted crisps - divine, and well worth the 4pp !

I have chicken/peppers/onion/garlic marinading in fajita seasoning for tonight, to be stir fried and had with brown rice (and a bottle of red). Nothing much going on over the weekend - although over to friends on Saturday. Hoping for a good WI on Monday (as only 1lb last week, would like 2 this week), and then Monday night using some Tesco vouchers at Prezzo - so will be reading up pp in my Eating Out guide to decide what to have before i go.
