We could keep chatting here until someone starts a new proper thread...

BIWI Indiscreet question! When you take Berocca do you, like me, get wee that is the colour of a highlighter pen? First time I took it I went to the loo and was WTF??!!!

BIWI · 07/09/2012 21:04
Grin

No, you are weird

No you are completely normal. It's the vitamin B that does this.

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/09/2012 21:07

What is berroca? And what are the benefits?

Also BIWI you might want to start a new thread whih we can link to before this one fills up!

Hi Convert and welcome! I completely agree about the positivity on these threads - what I love is people sounding so happy and excited about their WOE instead of bemoaning what they can't eat. But then again, low-carb is DELICIOUS!

B: a few teaspoons of Total full-fat, to finish off the tub
L: handful of macadamias and a pot of large prawns and mayo (eaten on the run at work)
D: three eggs scrambled with boursin, and a handful of asparagus

It's been a long week so a glass of Rioja and a bit of choc too... DP is out for the night so I'm watching Most Haunted as he hates that programme Grin

BIWI · 07/09/2012 21:13

Good point well made, MrsHP.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 07/09/2012 21:33

Evening all

Just back from holiday - very impressed with all the very small clothes buying Smile

Didn't go mad on carbs during the holiday - just didn't fancy them much tbh and like this WOE but didn't deny myself either so had puddings/icecream/chocolate when I felt like it and despite that only put on a 0.5lb. Yay! Keen to get to 8st 7lbs so have another 3lbs to shift before I start maintaining.

Breakfact - fried eggs and bacon
Lunch - bacon and avocado salad with dressing
Snack - yoghurt
Dinner - grilled lamb chops, courgettes, mushrooms and broccoli

Not drinking enough water atm so need to get back into that habit.

BIWI · 07/09/2012 21:36

Way to go, MissBeeHiving! Welcome back.

TellMeLater · 07/09/2012 21:42

MsRinky the flaxseed pizza is brilliant, and it's a good base for a cheesecake. Whatever gets you through it. Cream cheese pancakes can also be used at lasagne sheets - dh took a trip to the mushroom man at borough market this afternoon, so we're in for a treat when I pull it all together tomorrow for a fabulous wild mushroom lasagne, I can't wait.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 07/09/2012 21:43

Aww thanks BIWI Smile - am a total convert - I really missed eating well

AuntieMaggie · 07/09/2012 22:59

Home now thank goodness :o

I can get back to eating properly again (til next week) as the food has been shite in the hotel. The bacon and eggs at breakfast were gross, I had yogurt and berries but I
think they added sugar to the berries. Fish was the only low carb lunch option again only salad leaves and coleslaw to go with it so I had some fruit with cream.

If I tell them I need a gluten free diet next time will that work better do you think?

Finbar · 08/09/2012 08:52

BIWI
Just wanted to check in and say a big thank you to you...I am down to my best weight ever ( even beating the time I went to Weightwatchers!). I haven't been this weight for about 10 years.

Is the Spreadsheet of Marvellous still going? - I want to write it LARGE!

Your diet thread was the start of it all - many many thanks!
( now, if only some people around me would be kind enough to remark on how well I look....)

BIWI · 08/09/2012 08:54

You look fabulous, darling Grin!

I'm not sure about the Spreadsheet of Marvellousness - I think it's still going - hang on ....

BIWI · 08/09/2012 09:00

I can't find one that goes up to today - I suspect FiddleDeFat has left it until we re-start Bootcamp on 1 October, but I've sent her a PM asking if this is the case.

Come and shout about your weight on the new chat thread!

Finbar · 08/09/2012 09:14

Restarting Bootcamp? fab
Thanks for the compliment too! Seriously without sounding like I'm fishing for compliments - without any nice feedback I was doubting the loss and I even considered the scales had been lovingly altered my DH.

TEN pounds I've lost -that's TEN pounds!
Off to look at jeans for the first time in yonks...

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 10/09/2012 12:43

dear lord, today is day 1 of boot camping again. I am so bloody hungry that I could eat anything. I am off on holiday with my (super slim) friends in November and this HAS to be a huge part of motivation for me.

Help me stay focussed, help me stay on track and remind me what I can eat when I am struggling. During the school holidays I have scoffed sugary things and put on 7lbs.

Its on tinternet now, I have to do this! I was so focussed before summer holidays.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 10/09/2012 12:44

Oh, I see we are starting again 1/10. I cant wait until then, I need a head start. Grin

EwanHoozami · 10/09/2012 13:19

Finbar that's bloomin marvellous work - well done. Must be a wonderful feeling.

People who are Good At Drinking Water - when will I stop peeing like a racehorse? Will my body adapt?

Yesterday was pretty good, I think ...

B: Kedgeree (cauli rice, smoked mackerel and a boiled egg)
L: chargrilled chicken and a handful of pistachios
D: Sirloin steak in bearnaise sauce with runner beans & celeriac chips (YUM)

had a decaf coffee with cream.

have ordered some better scales, might step on them in a few days

EwanHoozami · 10/09/2012 13:23

arrr I've posted on the old thread. Wot a wally. Will C&P forthwith.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 10/09/2012 13:49

I am not sure your body ever adapts to not peeing like a racehorse, I think we notice it less and I definitley dont pee as much now as I did at the start.

Stood on the scales and they are not working properly. Im going to have to order new ones (again)

captainmummy · 10/09/2012 15:10

Celeriac chips - fried or baked? I need to know......

I don't actually get that 'peeing' thing much now, I can drink 1 pint water at 7.30, a large cup tea (about 1/2 pint) and walk to work for 9. Drink 1 cup coffee at 930 and feel the need to go at about 10. So I feel confident that I can go a few hours without a toilet and still drink loads.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/09/2012 15:12

when I made them they were baked

captainmummy · 10/09/2012 15:14

So rub with oil and bake like oven chips?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/09/2012 15:23

Hope this works - tis a link to Custy's blog - this is what we do and they are lovely

fingers crossed this works!

vezzie · 11/09/2012 10:35

Oh my goodness, look at this:

alzheimers called Type 3 diabetes by some scientists

The more I learn about it the more terrifying insulin disruption* seems (and the more I wish I could get it all straight enough in my head to argue with my dad who insists I have got insulin all wrong, which I probably have)

*"insulin disruption" is exactly the sort of home-made nonsense phrase which makes my father roll his eyes, tut, and disregard what I am trying to say (he is a cell biologist)
