We could keep chatting here until someone starts a new proper thread...

I've never really given up puddings completely, I still eat one when we eat out, I still eat yoghurt with stevia and strawberries and the occasional square of good high cocoa cho.. When I'm low carbing I'm more in control of these treats which is where I feel comfortable at. I could give up pasta and bread but not sweet stuff, not forever - that's going too far for me, couldnt give up wine either.

TellMeLater · 07/09/2012 18:39

princess I'd up my exercise if I were you - stay on your feet and keep yourself busy.

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/09/2012 18:43

princess I also think it is not a good idea. All I have read about fasting is about eating less not starving and I think there is a big difference. Fasting seems to involve eating about 500 calls in a day rather than nothing. The fact you ate some chocolate and felt faint I think shows it isn't sensible. If you ate 'shite' then just move on, starving afterwards so the weight doesn't go back on definitely sounds like how disordered eating issues can begin. Sorry if that isn't what you want to hear.

Ive been keeping very busy today! 2 hours of ironing, then housework.. Loads of walking and playing in the park Grin

teaandthorazine · 07/09/2012 19:22

TML - me too. Greek yoghurt with blueberries/strawbs, dark choc, wine, proper restaurant puds - they all feature in low-carbing for me. I can live happily without bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. I can manage without crisps or cake. But take away my 85% Green & Black's and things will get nasty Grin.

(Sometimes I can't believe that 6 months ago my usual lunch was a bottle of Lucozade, a sandwich, a bag of crisps and a Snickers...)

teaandthorazine · 07/09/2012 19:26

Princess, hope you don't think anyone's lecturing you but please do consider not fasting again tomorrow. Just eat low-carb as normal, drink plenty of water and things will balance out. Starving yourself for 48 hours (except for chocolate!) really isn't going to help keep weight off and will more likely be self-defeating tbh.

BIWI · 07/09/2012 19:26

Princess - 48hrs without food is not going to do you any good Sad. Please, please don't do this to yourself. It's not a natural/normal way to eat at all. And I'm sure everyone on the fasting threads would also agree as well.

fufulina · 07/09/2012 19:32

Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes! The thread has moved fast today! Just checking in, and will now read through.

B: two eggs mashed with butter, mushrooms fried in butter with Boursin (delicious!)
L: Olympic park again (this time for the swimming), so old macdonald's cafe grilled chicken salad with no dressing
S: a few macadamias, three sausages Blush, and some of the girls' veggies. Say after me, I AM NOT THE BIN!
D: not hungry, so maybe nothing, maybe the panzer shizzle from waitrose when DH gets home.

Was up today to 75.5kg. Damn cake, and aching! Odd.

In other news, I spent some birthday money n some size 12 skinny jeans that look good! And I have shrunk out of new jeans bought 4 weeks ago as old jeans were falling off. I love this woe.

Will read thread now!

BIWI · 07/09/2012 19:39

I bought a pair of jeans in M&S today, from their teenage range

This was my face ---> Grin

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/09/2012 19:39

fufu I was at the Olympic park today for the athletics - you were much better than me!!!!

Viper, completely agree. I keep browsing the gluten-free/paleo blogs and reading the recipes for low carb brownies, cookies, bread, etc. but i know I shouldn't be looking for substitutes for these things, I just shouldn't eat them! And if I do want to eat them, I need to feel the ramifications (like the cake yesterday) to remind me how much shit I was putting in my body. I never ate low fat, even when low cal dieting, because I would always want to have 'the real thing' but less of it, and I think I need to stick to that, rather than investing in coconut flour, stevia, flaxseed and cooking up biscuits that I 'can' eat!

Loving the jeans buying sprees Sybil and BIWI! Must be something in this glorious weather!

Aso currently wearing my honeymoon denim skirt! The less said about the doughboy belly, the better, but it's coming off!

fufulina · 07/09/2012 19:47

Mrs HP, I am in the zone! It's the shrinking out of clothes which is keeping me on track! (and the prospect of being on a beach in ten days...).

Convert · 07/09/2012 20:01

Hi, I have just started low carbing and having searched it on mn his thread seems to be THE LC thread! I have had a good read through Grin for some ideas and one thing I was struck with is how much lower the average weight seems to be and how happy you all sound with this diet way of eating! The positivity just jumps off the page!
It has really convinced me that this is the way to go, I can't believe how easy the last 5 days have been to be honest. So I just wanted to say how inspired I've been reading all your posts!

halfthesize · 07/09/2012 20:04

Eve All, loving the jeans shopping ladies, I also went out and got myself some new skinnies, size 10 in H&M, I was also grinning like a Cheshire CatGrin

Had chicken salad for lunch and just about to have slow roasted duck legs with greens done in a creamy sauce.

Princess I understand you are upset about what you ate, but I agree with the others 48 hour fast sounds extreme and worries me, re eating disorders, please eat tomorrowSmile

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 07/09/2012 20:07

On the pudding chat, I just ate IPD choc mousse with whipped cream and feel a bit sick. However, I have just mentioned this to DH and it turns out that he made enough for 4 and decanted it into 2 glasses, so I had a double portion without realising. Angry Bloody sabotage!

hazchem · 07/09/2012 20:07

Viperidae I'm an ex WW and have some concerns about the new plan. Mainly that fruit is unlimited and that if you do a filling an healthy dya you can eat crumpets as much as you like. Also I think all the stretching the food budget in WW encourages you to eat as much as you can. Where as I think this WOE is about eating until you are satisfied.
I don't miss eating crumpets with egg white scrambled eggs at all. Grin

BIWI · 07/09/2012 20:10

I have never subscribed to the idea of creating substitutes for 'ordinary' food. IMVHO, if you can't buy something in the supermarket, for a start, it just isn't going to happen.

I'd rather have a small portion of a dessert made with fruit/sugar/flour/chocolate on the odd occasion than have something made with any kind of dubious alternative.

But it's easy for me to say that as I've never had much of a sweet tooth.

BIWI · 07/09/2012 20:10

And welcome, Convert!

fufulina · 07/09/2012 20:29

Size 10, half! Fantastic!

BIWI · 07/09/2012 20:37

I shall gloss over, for the next week or so, the muffin top that was spoiling the profile over said jeans Blush

Viperidae · 07/09/2012 20:43

I have made a lovely berry compote tonight and, for the first time ever I haven't added any sweetener of any sort. Very odd for a woman with such a sweet tooth!

I use 2 packs raspberries, 2 packs blueberries, 1 pack strawberries and 1 pack blackberries (sounds a lot but it vanishes quickly as DH and DD love it!) Put 1 of raspberries and 1 of blueberries in a pan with a tablespoon or two of water on a very gentle heat and warm through until the berries break down and release juice. Stir in all the others until coated in the jammy juice. It is lovely on its own, with yoghurt or with cream and somehow I find it more of a treat than just berries.

fufulina · 07/09/2012 20:46

Gloss away, BIWI. I am merrily glossing over the pockets of back fat and my extra boobs which live between my bra strap and my actual boobs. Naice.

Viperidae · 07/09/2012 20:48

Well done to you slinky-malinkeys in size 10s and skinny jeans! I am probably twice the woman you are, and not in a good way!

I'm learning and hopefully on the right track with food and exercise but I'm still very jealous! Envy

BIWI · 07/09/2012 20:55

Don't worry, fufulina/viperidae - you did join us later. You will soon find the weight disappearing just as quickly as we did.

I still have to get on the scales after my holiday - and I know I will still be up. But - you know - I don't actually mind. I know that things are going in the right direction, and I'm happy to go at my body's own pace.

Today has been:

breakfast - small amount of yoghurt
lunch - leftover pork, with coconut/ginger sauce, over spinach (absolutely to die for!)
dinner - takeaway night chez BIWI: chicken tikka with yoghurt sauce, mushroom bhaji, spinach bhaji. One mouthful of naan bread.

1 Berocca, 2 coffees, about a litre of water (I need to drink more this evening), 2 large rum and sodas. (First alcohol all week!)

MsRinky · 07/09/2012 20:58

Well I have had flax and coconut flour pizza for dinner and it was awesome. And I make flax and almond bread occasionally. I have another 65 pounds to lose on top of the 35 I've already lost, and these things help me stay on track. To each their own.
