Well some of you are, clearly!

And I notice more talk about maintenance, which is evidently a very good sign.

I think the best way for maintenance is to gradually increase your carbs until weight loss either stops or you find that you're putting weight back on.

Don't rush out and fall face first into a plate of pasta, though! Start with fruit and veg (be careful with which fruits and how much), and possibly some legumes - e.g. lentils, or beans - i.e. we're looking to add 'good' carbs into the diet, rather than rush straight into 'accessible' carbs which have an immediate impact on your blood sugars.

Today is Day 1 of Week 1 in my 'let's get that last half stone off' before I go on holiday. (Except that last night's meal, plus a bit of 'eye off the ball' time, means it's more than half a stone now ...)

well done MNP
jan2011 They are more toned but I definately have major wobble on the inside. I've always had it so I think it's just me but I would like it to go Smile

captainmummy · 28/06/2012 13:36

I've lost 2KGs in about 2.5 weeks - don't have much to lose but it's been steadily creeping on in the past 2 years. I wasn't even low-carbing, really, for the 1st week, (until i found this thread!) - still eating fruit and low-cal yogs and stuff, but cut out potatoes, pasta etc. I was probably quite deficient in protein, as most of my diet was carbs. Still have much to learn.

Only another few kgs to go, it's v exciting!

frankie4 · 28/06/2012 13:52

Just had poached salmon and salad for lunch. I am really enjoying eating all the meat , eggs and fish, I have low iron levels so this new way of eating may help me feel better.

Went to M&S today and bought lots of meat and it did not cost too much as I did the 3 for £10 deal, and I did the £10 meal deal and bought chicken, salad, berries and wine (for another time!!)

NigellasGuest · 28/06/2012 14:14

I'm laying off the creamy magic mushrooms for lunch today - want to keep them as my emergency option although probs they won't work next time

So I am having tinned mackerel with some mayo and lettuce.

fillet steak for me tonight, cooked by DH, as it's my Birthday! [hooray] Grin

Thegoddessblossom · 28/06/2012 14:22

Happy Birthday Nigella!!!

Back to 9 5 today, Grrr, after the magic 9 2 on Monday - I just go up and down and up and down the same 3 pounds. Oh well, I guess this is just by natural weight - as long as I don't go over 9 5 I'm ok with that.

NigellasGuest · 28/06/2012 14:49

thank you Goddess!

and have you tried creamy magic mushrooms? (see a couple of pages back on the thread)

Jacaqueen · 28/06/2012 14:53

Happy Birthday Nigella

I am 2lbs down from Monday. I really really really want to see my weight start with a 12 before I go on holiday on Sunday. I may have to try the majic mushrooms.

MNP · 28/06/2012 15:14

Thanks vnmum

Happy Birthday Nigella

vnmum · 28/06/2012 15:25

happy birthday nigella

PenisVanLesbian · 28/06/2012 15:36

Oh, I had a genius idea (that probably is obvious to anyone, but I'm quite pleased!) For lunches I often have things on crackers or crispbread, cheese or pate or smoked salmon w/cream cheese etc, but obviously the crackers are out. Rounds of cucumber are perfect, you totally get the crunch effect.

I fried some feta in pepper and herbs and put melty squares of it on top cucumber. Was absolutely delicious!

SingingTunelessly · 28/06/2012 17:29

Ooh genius idea Penis

Congrats to all those who've lost again, I'm joining you to announce another 2lb gone this week. What are these mushrooms of wondrous magic you're all on about? Think I've missed that bit. Do you just chuck them in a frying pan with cream?

Welcome to all new posters hope this woe helps you all as much as the rest of us.

Piste, I can't think of any redeeming features for you off the menu at Waggamamas sorry. Maybe wait outside. Grin

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 28/06/2012 17:52

We can eat pate? Score!

PenisVanLesbian · 28/06/2012 17:53

its probably all over the net, isn't it? Still, I can claim it as my own to anyone who doesn't know it! Grin

MNP · 28/06/2012 17:54

Ardennes pate on cucumber is delish, also make rolls of minced prawns in mayo on little gem lettuce.

BIWItheBold · 28/06/2012 19:10

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 28/06/2012 19:15

oh hello again! I havent been mn ing as much lately, but still low carbing and I am down another 9lbs in total (I think) not as strict as I was on bootcamp - not scoffing bread or anything, but I have been having strawbs and other berries with a splosh of cream or natural 0% fat yoghurt. Also had a few nights out, meals out etc etc but I have been doing aquarobics and dog agility so have managed to still lose.

Hope everyone is still doing great. Grin

BIWItheBold · 28/06/2012 19:23

Brilliant, Jax! Have you put it on the Spreadsheet of Marvellousness?

OP posts:
sparkybabe · 28/06/2012 19:30

I made chicken liver pate (with mushrooms Grin) and spread it on little gem leaves.

Have eaten tyhe lot

PenisVanLesbian · 28/06/2012 19:36

Are turnips allowed? I was thinking of making turnip gratin for tomorrow.

Thegoddessblossom · 28/06/2012 20:21

Having eaten mushrooms everyday for about 3 weeks I haven't had then for a while so will buy some tomorrow and hop on the creamy magic bandwagon... Grin

mumofjust1 · 28/06/2012 20:26

I've cut out carbs for the last 4 days and today, I've not been hungry at all - why would that be?

I feel far better than I ever did on ww, and when I went shopping today and smelled baking bread I just thought it smelled lovely rather than being tempted to buy ALL the bread!!

londonone · 28/06/2012 20:54

Sneaky midweek weigh in for me and have lost another pound so onwards and downwards! Selfish dinner of courgette salad with chilli and feta, salmon wrapped in Parma ham and braised fennel. Yummy

BIWItheBold · 28/06/2012 20:57

mumofjust1 - when you say 'cut out', what do you mean? You are supposed to be eating some carbs, in the form of veg and salad! The lack of hunger suggests that your body has moved into fat-burning mode, otherwise known as ketosis, which is a good thing. But please let me know what you've been eating!

Penis - when you say turnip, do you mean the small, creamy/purple things, or the large brown/purple things which are actually swedes?!

londonone - great news!
