The only thing I could think of to rhyme with 'six' for a catchy thread title was 'ketostix'. But as I don't advocate those, I was stuck!

By now, hopefully you're in the sway of things. Weight loss each week may be less spectacular, but should be reasonably consistent if you stick to the knitting Smile

You may also be finding that it's not happening for you consistently. It is an odd thing - and I have no idea if it's unique to low carbing - but it's not uncommon to go for a couple of weeks without losing, and then for the scales to suddenly drop. However, don't be downhearted and whatever you do, don't use this as an excuse to drop off the wagon!

It's also a very good reason why you should take your measurements as well as weighing, and a very good idea to keep a food/drink/snack diary, so make sure that you're not allowing carb creep.

So. Keep on keeping on. Remember the water, and don't forget to make sure you're keeping the fat levels up.

Here's to next week!

Wow that's fantastic going ilovemyteddy. Well done you!!

aussiegonewrong · 23/05/2012 11:19

Ilovemyteddy , thats so great in such a short time as well,

I think I have done okay today evening here in sunny sydney
scrambled eggs and spinach for BF
chicken ceaser salad for lunch no croutons!
salmon with roasted broccoli and cauli for dinner but I did have a coffee with full fat milk and a large one at that , not able to give up that vice yet ever

Thegoddessblossom · 23/05/2012 11:20

Well done ilovemyteddy! Grin

Breakfast: greek yog (no berries)

Just swum 62 lengths.

Ilovemyteddy · 23/05/2012 11:59

Thanks everyone!

62 lengths Goddess - I am in awe. I have done no exercise since starting this WOE, apart from sporadic forays onto the Wii Fit. I do have a very active job though.

Envy you being in sunny Sydney, Aussie I also have the occasional coffee, too. Life is too short to give up caffeine!

Creamtea1 · 23/05/2012 12:01

Moonshine - if my husband dared to touch or mess with my scales I would kill him!!! Lol

Shimbo · 23/05/2012 12:24

Well done teddy, that is fab! You should be SO proud.

Me, I am not winning. I have just stuffed a banana in, it got practically inhaled and now I feel so annoyed with myself Angry. No slipups the rest of the day.

Thegoddessblossom · 23/05/2012 12:57

Lunch: 3 egg omelette with smoked salmon, mushrooms, served with a big salad and mayo.

Thegoddessblossom · 23/05/2012 12:57

where do we stand on beetroot?

BIWItheBold · 23/05/2012 13:01

Beetroot is not on the allowed list because it is very carby. 9.5g carbs per 100g

Roger that BIWI.

MNP · 23/05/2012 13:14

Well done IloveMyTeddy even tho I am planning to shrink I just couldn't not buy some pretty stuff in TKMaxx yesterday, tho have also bought some things in Uniglo that I need to be smaller for them to look super.

B:meds and .5L
L:pâté on cucumber with a beansprouts, sping onion, grated cheese and luncheon meat in Mayo salad.
D:??

BIWItheBold · 23/05/2012 13:59

Ilovemyteddy - how fantastic! Very well done.

LittleFrieda - I have an odd jumble of summer stuff - some cheap, linen dresses that I bought last year/year before from Sainsbury that are nice for wandering around on a hot day - can wear with flats or (rarely, in my case) with heels. But not dressy.

Dressy summer stuff is my problem. And I'm loathed to buy anything new quite yet.

I have some lovely bits and pieces that I may try on soon - to see if they fit - although I suspect they may still be a bit tight. Mind you, I just about squeezed into a pair of Next size 8 linen trousers the other day!

It is my youngest's birthday today. As requested, I have made him a fresh cream and raspberry jam Victoria Sandwich. We are going out for supper to a restaurant where I know I will be fine, but...

...if I have a slice of cake, just how bad will it be? I've been really good the last three days - Bootcamp good - and I will be good the rest of the week.

It's going to be bad, isn't it?

mummyduff · 23/05/2012 14:44

Hi all, IloveMyTeddy thats amazing, well done Grin

With regards to summer clothes I have to say H & M are amazing at the moment for short and maxi dresses, they range from £4 upwards. My sister got a little dress today for £3.99 from there it looks great.

Right back to the sunSmile

gothicmama · 23/05/2012 15:07

BIWI sorry I have been absent - pesky health issue which I need to get sorted Can I hang around here doing my thing and then go back to bootcamp in a couple of weeks once meds have kicked in Thank you I'm pleased about the webchat it will be fab motivation

Thegoddessblossom · 23/05/2012 15:21

DoUntoOtters - I have done that before - just licked the cream out of the middle of the sponge. Grin

Have a piece. It's your child's birthday. In the big picture version of things what's the worst that can happen?

Thegoddessblossom · 23/05/2012 15:27

snack: pepperami

Shimbo · 23/05/2012 15:30

A couple of questions have occurred to me while trying this WOE, which I hope you won't mind me asking. Firstly, what happens to the extra fat that we eat, I understand the idea behind restricting carbs is to get your body to burn your own stores of body fat instead, but not sure how the high protein, high fat, low carb combination is dealt with by the body. So sorry if this info is out there, I have not read Atkins or any of the other literature yet. And secondly, are there any nutrients we are missing from cereals? Thank you!

QueenStromba · 23/05/2012 15:56

Cereals are full of antinutrients so rather than being the rich source of vitamins and minerals they're advertised as, they actually impair the absorption of vitamins and minerals from other foods.

SharonGless · 23/05/2012 16:11

Just invited SIL and DC for impromptu BBQ - ideas for menu please. Just leaving work and going to waitrose

MNP · 23/05/2012 16:46

SharonGless beware waitrose own burgers have milk in them, salmon, prawns skewers, veggie skewers, mini chicken fillets, Hestons Ultimate Burgers, corn on the cob, asparagus wrapped in Parma ham.

teaandthorazine · 23/05/2012 16:46

Am loving the recipes on this site.

Some of them aren't very bootcamp-friendly though Wink

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/05/2012 16:47

Have only had one of six glasses of water today. No wonder is it that I have a corker of a head ache?

teaandthorazine · 23/05/2012 16:48

Sharon - wot MNP said (though corn on the cob is pretty carby, no?)

Also Waitrose posh coleslaw (the stuff with chives on top) is pretty low carb and completely delish. Can't have a barbie without coleslaw!

SharonGless · 23/05/2012 16:49

MNP thanks for quick reply
Have corn on cob, black farmer sausages, will make own burgers, Greek salad and baked pots for the others
Yum
