The only thing I could think of to rhyme with 'six' for a catchy thread title was 'ketostix'. But as I don't advocate those, I was stuck!

By now, hopefully you're in the sway of things. Weight loss each week may be less spectacular, but should be reasonably consistent if you stick to the knitting Smile

You may also be finding that it's not happening for you consistently. It is an odd thing - and I have no idea if it's unique to low carbing - but it's not uncommon to go for a couple of weeks without losing, and then for the scales to suddenly drop. However, don't be downhearted and whatever you do, don't use this as an excuse to drop off the wagon!

It's also a very good reason why you should take your measurements as well as weighing, and a very good idea to keep a food/drink/snack diary, so make sure that you're not allowing carb creep.

So. Keep on keeping on. Remember the water, and don't forget to make sure you're keeping the fat levels up.

Here's to next week!

scrablet - double cream is fine, don't use single though as it's too carby. I don't bother watering it down for coffee though you can if you want to - but don't forget it's important to keep your fat intake high if your carbs are low.

scrablet · 27/05/2012 11:51

Thanks tea, really don't want to derail myself over a cuppy!

Ilovemyteddy · 27/05/2012 12:40

vnmum - re: fasting - you are absolutely right. I know as long as I drink water I can easily go without food if everything provided at my friend's jubilee celebration is carby. Although DH will be Confused Angry and Hmm if I do Grin

I went on a training course recently. The place normally provides cold meat and salad. But this time it was sandwiches and chips Envy So I scraped the fillings out of a few sandwiches and ate those, and together with loads of water I was fine and not hungry. Got a lot of Hmm looks from my colleagues. The same colleagues who went 'OMG' when they saw how much weight I'd lost. How did they think that had happened? Grin

MNP · 27/05/2012 12:45

Thinking of :

L:prawns with samphire,leeks and mayo
D:beef stew
S:crispy breast of lamb with mayo and leaves

Massively busy last two days with extreme gardening. Still at it, and only done the front!! Just had quick reheat of last nights mince and veg, cuppa and a fag then off I go again. Chicken salad for tea with the kids.

BIWItheBold · 27/05/2012 13:56

Smoky love, I thought you'd given up with the fags?

tea when I fast I tend to eat something at say 8 or 9pm, even if it is just a snack, then I will not eat anything till around 5pm the next day. I also work out in the gym in the morning of my fasting day. There are lots of ways to incorporate fasting and it can be useful to break plateaus. Some people will just skip meals, some will fast for 24 to 36 hours and some will eat early morning then evning or no breakfast and lunch at 2pm for example. here is some good info on it, there are numerous parts to the blog entry and it is useful to read them all.

I haven't been drinking enough water this weekend and I have gained. Thinking it is down to not enough water and 2 heavy gym sessions on consecutive days so my muscles could well be retaining water.
Off to drink more.

Scrambled eggs for breakfast, prawn salad for lunch, lots of water, but probably not 'enough' water.

BIWItheBold · 27/05/2012 15:05

I really, really daren't even try it on Grin

I met the lovely MmeLindor yesterday and she is a fiend. She brought me a box of tablet, made by her brother. I couldn't resist it and had about 6 pieces before I was able to find some resolve and give the box to DH! OMG it is absolutely gorgeous. Although I think it has more sugar in it than sugar.

OP posts:
GreenEyesAndHam · 27/05/2012 16:11

Tablet?

BIWI I think Mme is trying to SABOTAGE you, in an attempt to overthrow you as our leader. Don't say you weren't warned!

Well its my wedding anniversary today, so I broke the WOE good and proper, as I promised I would; no starter, no carby main but white choc and peppermint parfait with caramel and choc covered popping candy, with a chunk of honeycomb.

smokinaces · 27/05/2012 17:06

Pistey, I have been trying with the cigarettes. Have about ten a week at the moment, but am determined to stop again soon.

On the upside haven't had a chance to pick at all all weekend due to the busyness. Downside is my shorts and vest top can't look good with my arms and legs in the state they are from gardening.......

smokinaces · 27/05/2012 17:09

Wow, bikini. Not sure i even wore one on my honeymoon pre kids. I'm sure I had a tankini. Bikini last outing was 2003 in ibiza when I was 21.

And that is where it is staying.......

MmeLindor. · 27/05/2012 17:47

Sorry, BIWI.

No revolution planned, but I can report that BIWI is just as lovely in RL as she appears on here and that he has lovely toned calves. I was only a teeny bit jealous and a whole lot inspired.

She is hot and needs to post pics of the bikini

Thegoddessblossom · 27/05/2012 18:07

I went to a polo match today, all very Rah. Grin Took a salad, hard boiled eggs and the last of the BBQ sausages. Did have a few strawbs though, and a sneaky glass of pimms.

Breakfast was 3 egg and 2 bacon.

Tea - ?

Have drunk nowhere enough water though, so intend to get through two litres before bed.

teaandthorazine · 27/05/2012 18:20

thanks vnmum - will definitely look into it.

I've eaten chips, fgs. And they were just crap, and dull. Totally not worth it. Carby food is just bland really, isn't it? Lesson learned (maybe)...

BIWItheBold · 27/05/2012 18:24

I think I last wore a bikini about a million years ago - certainly when my kids were tiny, so we're talking about the late 90s.

It's weird, now, having met Mme - I read all her posts with a Scottish accent!

OP posts:
BIWItheBold · 27/05/2012 18:26

Tea - I find that carby food is often a carrier for something more yummy - pasta for the sauce, rice for the curry. And in the case of chips - salt and vinegar

OP posts:
BIWItheBold · 27/05/2012 18:27

THERE WILL BE NO PHOTOS Grin
