The only thing I could think of to rhyme with 'six' for a catchy thread title was 'ketostix'. But as I don't advocate those, I was stuck!

By now, hopefully you're in the sway of things. Weight loss each week may be less spectacular, but should be reasonably consistent if you stick to the knitting Smile

You may also be finding that it's not happening for you consistently. It is an odd thing - and I have no idea if it's unique to low carbing - but it's not uncommon to go for a couple of weeks without losing, and then for the scales to suddenly drop. However, don't be downhearted and whatever you do, don't use this as an excuse to drop off the wagon!

It's also a very good reason why you should take your measurements as well as weighing, and a very good idea to keep a food/drink/snack diary, so make sure that you're not allowing carb creep.

So. Keep on keeping on. Remember the water, and don't forget to make sure you're keeping the fat levels up.

Here's to next week!

I have lost 8.5 lbs on total. I am happy with this as I have fallen off the wagon every weekend!

I am going to be good this weekend though. Another 5lbs and I'll be in the 9s. I am determined to do this by next weekend.

Hi Makingmama and Manvsfood! Lots of people here have been doing it for weeks but there's a few of us who aren't long into this woe.

I've been a bit less ebullient this week, but I'm not a hot weather lover. The day after weigh-in on Monday I was a pound heavier and weight not moving and yesterday I was almost in tears trying to find something to wear to a work meeting as nothing fitted (ended up wearing a hot but at least stretchy black wrap dress). This morning I seemed have finally lost a smidgen of weight and was able to wear a loose dress I bought from Asda of all places! I think I may have to give up Greek yoghurt, sadly, as not having it may have helped with tiny loss.

But today am craving strawberries and cream - how bad are strawberries?

teaandthorazine · 25/05/2012 12:14

moonshine strawberries are fine on this WOE generally but BIWI may shout at you if you have them on Bootcamp Grin

Scales are still my friend despite some fairly major indulgence yesterday in the form of wine, poppadoms, raspberry sorbet and some very fudgy chocolate birthday cake Blush. But it was my mum's birthday, what could I do?! Anyway, knocking back the water today and not feeling guilty.

Breakfast was a protein shake and a tablespoon of coconut oil
Lunch - feel a sardine salad coming on, I think
Dinner - don't know; the fridge is rammed with low-carb food but I can't be bothered to eat much in this weather. Maybe some scrambled eggs and salmon.
Plenty of water.

Off to a picnic after school today - will be taking treats for the kids but will try to avoid crisps etc myself.

BIWItheBold · 25/05/2012 12:15

Betty - the best thing to do is be super strict for the next few days and make sure you drink plenty of water and don't do it again!

OP posts:
BettyBathroom · 25/05/2012 12:51

Yes sir! Biwi Sir!

We have dinner at a friends tomorrow night and then a week's holiday half term - so I think super strict when we can is our best bet - that and some serious pavement pounding.

BIWItheBold · 25/05/2012 12:58

.... and lots of water

OP posts:
Thegoddessblossom · 25/05/2012 13:35

Eggs and mushrooms for breakfast.

Celery and pate with a boiled egg for lunch.

Water.

64 lengths.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 25/05/2012 14:41

OMG! I weighed this morning and I have lost weight, which is fantastic news.

Are we still doing weigh ins on this thread? Blush havent been here in a while.

2 scrambled eggs for breakfast (in butter)

3 sticks of celery for lunch with almond nut butter (wasnt v hungry)

and lots and lots of water. half hour fast walk, up and down hills with dogs at 6.30am.

moonshine · 25/05/2012 15:08

Tea - that's enough to make me pass on the strawberries for now and have something else

obrigada · 25/05/2012 15:45

Can I ask what may seem a silly question, when you have mushrooms for your breakfast, do you grill them, fry them ??? Cooking not my strong point Blush, although I have managed to rear 4 children to young adults without poisoning any of them Grin

moonshine · 25/05/2012 16:11

obrigada - I always fry mine in butter (with a bit of garlic olive oil in for flavour and to stop the butter burning) - apparently fat is good on this WOE!

ohforfoxsake · 25/05/2012 16:14

I fry mine in loads of butter. Lush!

Have overcome the drop-down tiredness and it was indeed a lack of carbs. I wasn't eating enough veg mainly due to bad planning. Had a much better week this week. Shame I'm going to fuck it up by going on holiday next week Wink

Theeverexpandingrodders · 25/05/2012 16:18

Bugger i went out for lunch today and got chicken salad I asked for no dressing but it came with honey and mustard dressing i scraped most of it off didnt touch the croutons or the bread with it.

Also what can you take when you are bunged up? Blush

smokinaces · 25/05/2012 17:30

Bunged up nose or bunged up bum?!

teaandthorazine · 25/05/2012 17:35

Just back from after-school 'picnic'. Drank water and and ate 3 cocktail sausages. Said 'no' to icecreams, crisps, chocolate cookies, chocolate brioche, jaffa cakes, wagon wheels, satsumas and some ridiculous 'cookie crisp' things in little bags. Didn't want them (well, maybe wanted a brioche just a little bit)...

And then got offered WeightWatchers 'cakes' since I was refusing all the other stuff!! 'Go on, it's only two points.' I don't give a shit how many points it is - bugger off with your crappy sugar-laden fake food!

My friend (the one brandishing the WW fakecakes) said 'God, you're not still doing that weird diet are you?' when I pointed out each cake had 20g of carbs - and so at that point I made my excuses and left Grin

Theeverexpandingrodders · 25/05/2012 17:42

bum Blush Blush Blush

WillieWaggledagger · 25/05/2012 17:53

tea who's going to be smuggy mcsmuggerson with your svelt figure wolfing down pork belly while she's eating crappy unsatisfying low fat processed shit (who's on the weird diet now eh)? Grin

i was at a conference today and had a lunch meeting - was handed a lunch bag containing

cheese and pickle sandwich
crisps
kitkat
capri-sun
apple

hoo-bloody-ray. fortunately i had some pre-cooked salmon from sainsbury's that I had bought on the way just in case, so ate that afterwards.

also, omg the amount of cakes and sweets and crap on the conference booths, it was awful!

MNP · 25/05/2012 17:54

:o Tea

teaandthorazine · 25/05/2012 18:08

Oh Willie - conference food is just awful isn't it? Nice call on the smoked salmon though...

Funny you should mention the pork belly - we were talking about what our kids are into foodwise atm and I said ds was really loving pork belly (how surprised I was because he's usually such a fussy little wotsit). And so my friend (the WW one) said 'Oh that's good, because pork's a really low-fat meat isn't it?'

Ummm, not the way I cook it, honey Grin

I'm almost tempted to tell her I eat coconut oil off a spoon for breakfast but I think she might have an aneurysm.

BIWItheBold · 25/05/2012 18:16

Jax - brilliant news! There is a separate weigh-in thread, with an absolutely fabulous spreadsheet - official weigh-in is Monday.

OP posts:
smokinaces · 25/05/2012 18:28

Staying at my mums tonight. She made dinner - duck legs with stir fry veg. Tried really hard to suit my diet - veg was a little carby but not to matter, and the duck with the crispy skin was gorgeous.

No pudding - they all had lemon tart. I brought a very small amount of 95% dark choc and going to have a glass of red.

BIWItheBold · 25/05/2012 19:07

Sounds good! I love duck, and it's perfect LC fare
