What about delivery address RGPargy?

trice · 08/03/2012 13:46

I have just been reading about the paleo diet. I am going to try it alongside mfp for the next month. I just ate a lunch that was smothered in butter. It was delicious, and I am still below target on my calories.

RGPargy - you are a fitness demon. I'm glad you are having such a great time.

whyme2 · 08/03/2012 14:13

Hi everyone,

Checking back in. I have been logging onto MFP nearly everyday but keep forgetting to come back here to see how everyone is doing.

My weight loss is slow slow slow but it is moving at a glacial pace
Bmi is getting nearer to 35 now.

I am heatherdrinkstea on mfp if there is anyone else who wants to add me. I find it helps me stay on track looking at other's people's efforts and successes.

RGPargy · 08/03/2012 16:49

Cinnamon - delivery address is irrelevant. I am having all 3 of mine delivered to home and loads of people at work have them delivered to the office so it makes no difference.

If anyone wants a FREE graze box, go to their site and enter the code 74QTQD4. The first box is free, there is no obligation to continue and there is no contract etc either. I love them! GrinGrinGrin

Rianoceros · 08/03/2012 17:00

hello. can I join you please? I am a MFP dabbler and it would be good to have some experienced users to ask questions ofSmile

bexsybooboo · 09/03/2012 07:40

Another 1ib off Smile.

I know this is quite slow and boring a 1ib per week and trust me I so want to see more than that especially when been working my arse off hard to lose and exercise Hmm, but hoping it is going to set me up to keep it off long term.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong though to not get slightly bigger losses occassionally, am exercising 5/6 nights per week, food is pretty good at moment and always under calories, carbs etc by quite a lot. Am wondering if I am eating too few calories again as this is something I did at the beginning. I was leaving approx 200 cals spare each day but last 2 weeks have been leaving between 300 -500 cals and wondering if the starvation mode is happening Hmm

Any suggestions greatly appreciated, as stated am happy with the 1ib as still a good loss and I know quite a nice bit of blob/fat amount gone but would like to see every now and again 2ibs gone.

RG Great loss am muchly Envy lol inspiration to me and many more on here no doubt Smile

piratecat · 09/03/2012 12:15

i don't know much but i think it could be the starvation mode.

I wasn't eating quite enough each day, and my weight plateaued and i lost nothing the last 3 weeks. Over a week i was denying myself about 1000 cals, which is nearly a day's worth of food!

I have tried to be more exact for a week, and i have lost 2lbs. hoo bloody rah!!

RGPargy · 09/03/2012 21:00

Hi Ria!!! :o Great to see you on here :) We are all a friendly bunch with a whole wealth of information about all sorts between us!

Bexsy - it could very well be that you are not eating enough. Are you eating your exercise cals? I personally try not to eat mine, but i do know that they are there as a buffer, should i need them. What is you calorie allowance per day, as defined by MFP?

RGPargy · 09/03/2012 21:01

PS - 2.8lb off this morning! :o

cinnamongreyhound · 09/03/2012 21:14

I try not eat my exercise calories either but I also don't eat all my calories most days bexsybooboo. My dh is always telling me about starvation mode but my calorie allowance is 1500 so even when I don't get to it it's unlikely for me I think. Try upping your calories so they are closer to your allowance over the next week and see what happens maybe?

Well done RGPargy! I am naughty and weigh myself most days so never get a big loss, maybe that would be a good enough incentive to stop weighing myself so often :)

RGPargy · 09/03/2012 23:26

Oh I weigh myself daily too, cinnamon, but it's only actually on Friday (my weigh day) that I take any notice of what the scales say! Grin

piellabakewell · 10/03/2012 07:45

Morning all :) Have been awake since 5am to drop DP at the airport to fly north to visit his daughter.

So, after a couple of weeks of eating rubbish but not huge amounts of food, my weight crept back up from 57.5 to 58.4. As some of you know, it takes me an eternity a while to lose weight (10lbs since September). In early 2010 my starting weight was at a similar point to my weight on joining MFP and I followed the Harcombe Diet. I lost a stone in a couple of months but because I'm vegetarian and I like chocolate and I have little willpower I gradually regained over the following 12 months. So on Monday I got hold of myself and gave myself a hard shake. I follow Zoe Harcombe on Twitter, have met her in person and still belong to the club so I KNOW she talks sense and I KNOW it works and I KNOW I feel much better when I don't eat processed cr*p.

Tuesday morning I was 58.4, this morning I am 57.2 (which is a whisker away from 9st). I have not lost 1.2kg in four days at any other point in my MFP history. I have eaten plenty, but have carried on logging and found that even though I am eating full fat dairy twice a day I am barely managing 1200 cals (must be the lack of chocolate!) I need to get my food intake up a bit, I know, but I think this way of eating (no processed food, carbs/fats at separate meals) is working for me again.

trice, you might want to consider Harcombe as an alternative to Paleo? They are quite similar in many ways.

trice · 11/03/2012 21:40

Thanks Piella - I shall add it to the list. I get bored easily and love a new bandwagon to jump on.
I have done weightwatchers, rosemary conley, cambridge, atkins, dukan, lighter life, diet power, mfp, zone and currently doing bulletproof paleo. I am heartened by current research showing yoyo dieting is actually quite good for you because I have been doing it since I was sixteen.

LollipopViolet · 11/03/2012 22:10

I've been on MFP for a while, name is the same as on here. I've just got back into it and I'm finding it really useful. Still having bad days, but don't we all?

I've got a 4 day food diary to do for my PT at the gym, starting with today as I've actually been quite good. Dreading my next (and final) session. She's going to kill me with this programme. It'll be my final session for about 6 weeks due to uni and money.

Did my ears deceive me, or is dark chocolate more acceptable? I don't really like it, but if it'll give me a fix for sugar cravings whilst being sort of healthy I'll give it a go :)

I'm 5 foot 2 as well, although aiming for 8 stone if I can get there, from 12 and a half.

Rianoceros · 11/03/2012 23:30

it seems Monday is upon us againHmm. This week it works well for me to have a Monday WI as it's my birthday next Monday, so I can have a WI treat to celebrate (I can, can't I?Wink)

I have had one of those days today where I feel like I've hit rock bottomSad Went out with a friend (who has dropped at least 2 dress sizes due to relationship breakdown), and because of the sunshine I was surrounded by people with Not Enough Clothes on, whilst I was huddled in my scruffy cast-off trousers and fleece (it is only March), being offered further cast offs by now thin person.

I don't know how to get out of this mindset, and think well enough of myself to make positive changes.

I have been looking at "mood" supplements - I can't take St Johns Wort because I have an implant that reacts with it (I believe). Does anyone have any tips for any others? I do take vitamin D when I remember because the GP told me to.

Sorry for sharingBlush

I plan to try my hardest this week again

cinnamongreyhound · 12/03/2012 09:47

Firstly I would say don't huddle in scruffy cast-off clothes Rianoceros. I am all for second hand things but in good condition and if you are happy to wear them. It doesn't matter if they are new or second hand you need to feel good in what you wear no matter what you weigh.
Think about how well you have done to lose what you have, not what you have left to lose. I know this is difficult!
Try not to think about you as how much you weigh but the rest of you as a person.
No idea about mood supplements, one thing I cna thoroughly recommend is exercise to lift your mood. I started c25k in January and I now run 30 mins every other day and I feel so much happier as well as having loads more energy.

whyme2 · 12/03/2012 13:17

Hi Rianoceros
I understand how you feel, I was like that myself until a couple of months ago really. I think my turning point came when I decided to do something nice for myself rather than thinking I must lose weight. Gradually it has come together. I started by walking lots outdoors, this helped me feel more positive which was when I could start tackling my diet. But I had to keep my aim forefront which was that I was doing this to feel better first and foremost.

Hope you have a good week.

RGPargy · 12/03/2012 21:16

Lots of good advice here Ria. Have a good week and try and eat well this week so that you can really enjoy your birthday next Monday and have a treat that you know you have worked hard at to deserve. :)

MonsterBookOfTysons · 12/03/2012 21:21

Hi may I join please :)
I have been on MFP since the beginning of January and I lost nearly a stone so far.
I am eating 1200 cals a day and sometimes eating my exercise calories.
I exercise by going swimming 3-4 times a week for an hour a time and walking/30 day shredding on the days that I don't go swimming.
I am trying to lose the weight slowly as I enjoy having treats and want it to be a lifestyle change that I can stick to :)

SW 169.4 lbs
CW 155.8 lbs
GW 130lbs
Height 5ft 5.5inches.

I really want to join as I keep thinking I am seeing mners over there Grin

RGPargy · 12/03/2012 22:10

Hi Monster and Welcome! :o

Please feel free to add me on MFP. Same user name as here! Well done on your weight loss so far! You are doing really really well. :o

MonsterBookOfTysons · 12/03/2012 22:27

Thanks RGPargy :) I have added you :)
I also have the same user name on mfp as on here :)

LollipopViolet · 12/03/2012 22:54

Whew, came in with 203 calories left today - ate most of my exercise ones, which is unusual.

I'm on 1440 a day and usually have about between 300-600 left, depending on if I've been to uni or not. If I'm out it's worse because junk food is readily available and I have limited willpower.

Can't believe I was under after half a pizza at lunchtime, then a kebab later. The wonders of hard work at the gym!

Rianoceros · 13/03/2012 07:57

morning all, and thanksSmile

am trying to keep every day fairly low as I am out for lunch on Sunday, I don't know what we're having yet. And I would like a good WI on Monday so I can have a birthday treatWink

food went well yesterday, but only managed a bit of walking, adding a bit to each trip to school. Heading out over the fields this morning I think, when I've dropped of the boys. I did think DH was joining me, but he is still in bedHmm

violet I think I may have "met" you before on another thread over the years, but I can't think which.

have a good day allSmile

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2012 17:59

I have been getting closer to my calories the last week, have 1510, more like 1400+ instead of the 1200-1250 I had been having and have been losing weight quite quickly. Yesterday I was lower (1208) and this morning have lost nothing, just a thought is it better to be as close to mfp allowance or is it just the slightly more indulgent days catching up with me? Could also be time of the month, I seem to lose well the week after my period, then not for a week, then lose again and then nothing/put on when I actually have my period. Probably over thinking it but it is a so much nicer feeling to be losing than not!
