Ok so it's not technically weigh in day but I'm recording it as at last I have lost 3 pounds-yey Grin hope it all isn't back on tommorow.
I'm so Envy at all the gym bunnies among you-I do zilch. Am an exercise hater. Going to do some situps today and try a little cycle.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Shiftinglard · 02/06/2012 10:29

Hi there, can I join? I have friended some people from this thread. My MFP nickname is the same as my MN nickname. I think the MYP friends option is great for support and help.

I have been on My Fitness Pal for 5 days now and have shifted 10lbs! I am doing the 1200 calorie a day programme which I must admit is hard going and not sure if I could sustain it long term. I realise I won't lose this much every week, but what a motivator!

My main motivation was holding my friend's baby last weekend, and she said "oh he's a stone now", my immediate thought was not "Oh bless he's growing well", but "I'm bloody carrying four of these around constantly" as I am over four stone overweight.

I live in Cornwall (lots of pasties and cream teas groan), I work as a community nurse, so carrying all this weight around is a big strain, and my back is starting to protest. I also feel a bit embarrassed when talking to people about healthy diet, when I clearly don't have one myself! I am currently studying for a specialist nursing qualification, and hope to graduate in September - that is my goal - not to be a fat graduate!

BehindLockNumberNine · 02/06/2012 11:01

I too hate exercise. In fact I am glad we have a dog as walking him is the one thing I do enjoy...

I weighed myself today and have lost 3lbs. Am delighted Grin
And it is such a great motivator!!

LadyMonstingtonTy · 02/06/2012 11:25

I weighed myself today and it said 10st 8lb. Dh read the scales and it said 10 st 6lbs the other day, he had only counted the half way mark as a 5 not a 7 :o
Oh well, I am also feeling bloated atm as I have a co0ld, I have noticed this each time I have been ill Hmm
Well done on all the losses :)

piratecat · 02/06/2012 16:20

i weighed yesterday and was deffo 10st 6.

today i am 10st 8. bah!!

nosleepwithworry · 02/06/2012 16:33

Ive just joined this myself after seeing it recommended on MN.
Been doing it to nearly 2 weeks, 1,300 cals a day and im finding it great!

Its like a free version of weightwatchers tracker, which actually is the only way i can stick to a diet, is by writing it down.

Lost 4lbs so far BUT ive had horrendous diarrhoea for 5 days so gutted that ive not lost more! LOVE a dose of D&V to help weight loss Grin

Think ive got about 30lbs to loose.

Would love to check in here regularly and see how you are all progressing.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/06/2012 16:53

Why is it that a bit of bad news leaves me reaching for chocolate and biscuits?!?

piratecat and LadyMonstinigtonTy sorry about your gains, tomorrow is a better day :)

Welcome Shiftinglard and nosleepwithworry on your loses!!

Well done awaywego1 and BehindLockNumberNine!

piratecat · 02/06/2012 17:11

don't know what is up with me today, i feel more hungry than i ever had on this lark.

i think my body is saying 'come on now give me crap' !!

i shall drink water, i shall drink water, i am thirsty!!

awaywego1 · 02/06/2012 17:35

I'm the same today pirate-starving! Rumbling tummy and everything-frustrating Sad

piratecat · 02/06/2012 17:41

it's weird, is it the weather. the crappy dark rainy weather tricking my body into thinking it's winter and therefore i need stodge?

RedHotPokers · 02/06/2012 23:26

Just checking in to report 6lbs lost since starting nearly 3 weeks ago. SO chuffed, especially as I haven't been able to exercise properly for almost 2 weeks after having a small operation.

Have been targetting 1500 cals, but trying to achieve 1400 if possible.

Had my weekly Saturday night treat tonight. A small pizza and a can of full fat coke! Heaven after a week of cup a soups and salads Grin and still managed to stay under 1500 after eating dust for lunch Wink

BoffinMum · 02/06/2012 23:28

Can I join? I am shlg2. I have about 40lbs to lose.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/06/2012 09:14

Well done RedHotPokers!

Welcome BoffinMum, will add you on mfp.

I cannot believe how much it's raining here!!!! Really don't want to leave my house! It's sad as there is a carnival in my town today, with a parade starting at 11.45. Got a birthday party in soft play place later so that'll be fine and then out for a run 4.30ish so really hoping it eases off a bit.

Hope everyone is managing to resist too many calories over this bank holiday weekend :)

BoffinMum · 03/06/2012 09:25

Made the Heston Blumenthal Waitrose Eton mess thing for our street party - mainly strawberries and yoghurt with a bit of cream and meringue. Strangely health. Grin

BoffinMum · 03/06/2012 09:25

Pleased to have a couple of new buddies on MFP!

OneTwoOrThree · 03/06/2012 10:03

Lost my first stone and am delighted Grin. One down, two to go.

I'm now half a stone lighter than pre DC2 and next mini goal is to lose another 11lb to take me to pre DC1 weight.

So far this has been easier than I thought it would be. Fingers crossed it stays that way Wink

Newbies - feel free to add me on MFP (same name as here).

Weather is dry (at the moment) do hoping to get out for a run this evening.

RedHotPokers · 03/06/2012 12:53

I'm struggling more this weekend than any other time over the past 3 weeks. There's something about a bank holiday weekend that makes you want to eat crap I think!

LadyMonstingtonTy · 03/06/2012 13:10

cinnamon you were right, today is a better day!
I have lost the 2 lbs and am 10st 6lbs.
period weight has gone, I love the week after my period :o

cinnamongreyhound · 03/06/2012 16:39

Me too LadyMonstingtonTy we must be synchronised! I lost 400g yesterday (300 of which I'd put on in the last week) and lost another 500g today so I'm 600g down on last week :).
Feeling I might skip my run, had hectic day and it's nice to spend a few hours together as a family. Maybe I'll go once the dc are in bed.

LadyMonstingtonTy · 03/06/2012 16:54

Cinnamon, we are synchronised, this happened last month too :o

bexsybooboo · 03/06/2012 21:54

Am speedily bookmarking as have totally crashed and burned yet again Blush am blaming the jubilee bank holiday weekend Wink

On a positive am going swimming with kids tomorrow and aiming for a 5k run to redeem myself a little Smile

RGPargy · 03/06/2012 22:50

Hi everyone!

Well, i am suitably aching from my FightKlub day yesterday. Little did I know that we were actually one of the exhibits as the guy who runs FightKlub was showcasing it at the ExCeL for the Seni martial arts exhibition. Glad i hid from the cameras most of the time lol. Went to the gym this morning too (!!) and i think it probably helped to loosen us up but now my hamstrings and bum are feeling really achey and tight. Ah well, I love all this extreme exercise malarky so i am deffo not moaning about it!

Glad to have new peeps aboard! The more the merrier!!

Off to bed now. Enjoy the jubliee celebrations everyone - but dont go mad!! Wink

aliciaflorrick · 04/06/2012 13:29

Oh dear have enjoyed my time in the uk too much. We went to a music festival over the weekend and it was absolutely freezing and wet, so we've eaten loads of stodgy food. I weighed myself this morning and have put on weight. We're about to get on the plane to go home in an hour, so back to the healthy eating when back in France. I'm going to have one last costa at the airport because it will be the last for a long time. I have five weeks before my summer holidays to lose at least half a stone.

bexsybooboo · 04/06/2012 13:42

Suggestions please. Am seriously considering cycling to work to guarantee I get exercise in. It is 4.8 miles Sad and am trying to work out roughly how long that would take to cycle Smile

Answers on a postcard please Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 04/06/2012 16:02

Glad you had a good time aliciaflorrick, you will have to be strict with yourself and get active when you get home Grin

I answered of mfp bexsybooboo but I reckon 20mins ish, hopefully someone who actually cycles can help you!
