just logging in to say hi - well done to weight loss everyone - not been such a good week here - having period from hell plus some really tragic news has meant that zumba/swimming has gone out of the window - have tried to keep to calories - but not sure if have or not. Monthly weigh in on Monday - so will see if anything is good there!

On a different note - how long does it take for your body to roughly 'lose' the water weight from bloatedness - my trousers etc noticeably tighter this week and am hoping it's that not that i've gained it all back again!

aliciaflorrick · 26/05/2012 15:04

Hope everything gets better for you soon nimbus.

I give uo, I'm going to buy scales on Tuesday, I've stuck to 1200 calories a day now for the last two weeks and don't feel any different in size.

I don't understand, for as long as I can remember I've scoffed biscuits and sweets by the packet daily, and now I'm eating three proper meals a day and a mini kitkat as a snack nothing feels any different. If my weight isn't going to change I may as well go back to scoffing the crap. So with scales hopefully I'll see some difference however small.

Hello!

Back from holiday and have been awful with calories, but was still a bit Shock to find I weigh a whopping 5lbs more today than I did last Friday! Assuming that some of it is water, but could easily believe I have gained 2-3lbs of proper weight.

Going to restart Insanity today or tomorrow, as have had a full week off - was hoping to do it while on holiday, but ageing laptop wouldn't play DVD.

If anyone new wants to add me, I am Islaybower on MFP Smile

Hopefully · 26/05/2012 15:41

Alicia I have to have scales. I can see that I am smaller than I was 5 months ago (when I weighed around 12lbs more), but can't see the difference of the odd pound. Seeing consistent loss keeps me motivated.

twinkle183 · 26/05/2012 20:55

Hello girls....

I am back from a lovely trip in Scotland with the dh! I thoroughly enjoyed myself although now I feel like a stuffed chicken Hmm So back on it tomorrow! I am not going anywhere near those scales cos I know I have put weight on... Wink

Have had a massive clearout of my closet since I got back and have decided to get rid of all those clothes that I a purchased... some of them I wonder what the hell I was thinking!

My back as been playing up so have take some time off insanity which I feel completely guilty about Sad think I should of rested a little longer.. but hey ho need to get back in to in as I never thought I would say this about a work out but I have missed it! Going to restart from the beginning and see it through!

I start my new placement (am a student nurse) so need to be super disclipined to be able to exercise and do my essays where i am gonna get the energy

Well done to all the girls that have losted! Fabulous result keep going...

Water weight takes a couple of days to go if you continue to drink water this allows the body to get use to that it will know not to retain! But remember when your near your time of the month your retain - which is why I am giving the scales a wide berth as well as the reason above!

Have decided to weigh two weekly! So will let you know how I get on... anyone that has put on.. I have been there so know exactly how you feel its so annoying... but keep going cos I usually find that the next time I loose I am pleasantly surprised!!

KEEP going girls!!! xxx

twinkle183 · 26/05/2012 21:06

Hopefully · 26/05/2012 21:26

Twinkle we are both restarting! I am going to do the first fit test tomorrow Smile

Have eased myself back into calorie counting today - am not under, but not as over as I have been all week.

twinkle183 · 26/05/2012 21:50

hopefully I am so glad that I am starting together with someone its easier to stay motivated if you share it with someone!! Grin

Hopefully · 26/05/2012 22:50

Definitely Twinkle - we can be stern with one another and keep going for the whole bloody two months this time! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 27/05/2012 12:40

For those talking about measurements I'd say go for it, dh insisted on measuring me once a fortnight even though I was a bit cynical but I have definitely seen results.

                    15th Jan 19th May

Shoulders. 44. 39.5
Chest. 40. 34.5
Upper arm. 15.25. 13
Waist. 42. 36
Hip. 43. 37.5
Thigh. 25.25. 23
Knee. 18. 15.75

Calf. 19. 16.75

They are inches, he's a strange man- weighs in kg and measures in inches!

cinnamongreyhound · 27/05/2012 12:40

Glad I spent the time spacing that then!! Obviously doesn't stay the same when posted!

phedre · 27/05/2012 15:54

Those are great results cinnamon. I did all my measurements today as I am almost at Day 10 of 30 day shred and want to see if it actually makes any difference to my body composition (and I don't know if I canface doing the obligatory stomach shots). Despite being a metric person I did everything in inches so that it makes sense in the MFP context. I am such a forum sheep.

aliciaflorrick · 27/05/2012 16:12

Ooh you inspired me to measure and I've lost an inch off my waist and an inch off my arse hips in the two weeks I've been recording my diet on Mfp. So I celebrated with a frosted lemon fairy cake that ds2 made this afternoon, so now I've got to dig over the veg patch I've been ignoring to give me some cake eating calories to play with. Win win really.

I've ordered my scales so they should be delivered on Tuesday, so I'm feeling a bit more upbeat than I did yesterday.

Hopefully · 27/05/2012 18:15

I've just measured myself before starting Insanity again and have lost in some areas and gained in others. Have had a week of absolute pigging out though, so not surprised my waist is enormous - I'm visibly bloated.

Have got tons of healthy food in for this week, and have even broken my no-protein-powder rule (I eat pretty clean so try to avoid processed stuff) as I simply cannot afford a variety of protein, and I can feel myself getting bored of tinned fish. I have, however, ordered the most natural, hippy-pleasing protein powder I can find, to assuage my guilt Grin

flapperghasted · 27/05/2012 18:22

I'm starting today. Well...found this lunchtime, so will be starting properly tomorrow. I figure exercise and healthy eating should do the trick. I've got 1200 calories a day. Am gonna flip through the whole thread and see what I can find.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 27/05/2012 18:26

I have been having a picnic in the sun all day, it will possibly not end well! Hmm

jchocchip · 27/05/2012 19:40

Hello again, not been logging, not much exercise, not much overeating (unless you count the chocolate!) Quite please I haven't put any on, but I do need a kick to get back on the waggon.

Hopefully · 28/05/2012 08:04

Have had a healthy breakfast and am determined to stay on track this week - lasts week's excesses seem to have resulted in a 'proper' gain (i.e I'm assuming most of the water weight is gone now) of at least 2lbs, possibly 3 Shock. I want to get back under the magic 10 stone mark, then onwards and downwards.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 28/05/2012 09:24

I have had to leave the house without breakfast, I am going to starve :(

OneTwoOrThree · 28/05/2012 09:37

I'm back (from a week's holiday).

Had a wonderful week away, and for the first time ever in my life I was within calories every single day I also did loads of exercise - walking (some slow with kids, some fast chasing kids on bikes), pram pushing, swimming and even a bit of running

I usually weigh daily, and update my weight on MFP on Sun and Weds, so when we got home on Saturday I was looking forward to weighing on Sunday morning

Sunday morning arrives, I weigh and have lost a grand total of 0.5lb

I know a loss is a loss, and that after losing 11.5lb in the previous 6 weeks that my weight loss will slow down, but still disappointed.

Stuck within my calories yesterday, and even went for another run - 6km this time

I'll see how this week goes, but I'm wondering if I'm eating too much: 1200 cals (which is what MFP gives me) + 500 for breastfeeding + exercise (which was 200-500 per day last week, although this was an exceptional week due to holidays and having DH around to take care of kids, and lots of family walks).

I reckon I averaged about 350-400 exercise cals per day last week, and used about half of these. That means I ate 1200+500 (bf) + 200 exercise = 1900 cals per day (sometimes this doesn't feel like a 'diet').

Not sure what to to if I don't lose this week. I do think I might be eating too many cals, but want to be careful about cutting back as I'm breastfeeding and don't want to starve the baby!!

OneTwoOrThree · 28/05/2012 09:40

PS - I've not caught up on this thread since my week away, but if there are any newbies who want to add me on MFP then my username is the same as here :)

UtterlyButterly · 28/05/2012 19:32

Hello all,

I am checking in with my first weigh in.

1.5 off!!! I am really chuffed, I am eating 1400 cals a day so that I am not starving so I am really pleased.

I am going to measure tonight, I havent measured yet so it will be interesting to see how I get on with the inch loss too.

Don't forget to add me on MFP same NN.

piratecat · 28/05/2012 20:41

hi all, haven't been here for a bit, again where does the time go.

have lost another pound today, but that one took 3 weeks!! even tho i havent over eaten, but i know i have been under eating.

Have to get on top of this, and find foods to bulk up with that are almost grabable iyswim.

but pleased too, because i am going in the right direction DOWN.

have hit 147lb now, which is a boost.x

cinnamongreyhound · 28/05/2012 21:27

Well done alociaflorrick hope you're scales spur you on too.

Welcome flapperghasted!

Hi jchocchip well done for not putting on, we can give you the kick you need :)

Hope you didn't starve monsterbookoftysons I'm rubbish without breakfast!!

Well done OneTwoOrThree that sounds like a good holiday. I would say if your baby is still small weightloss is less important than your milk supply and you are still losing after all. If you want to lose more perhaps don't eat your exercise calories?

Well done UtterlyButterly and piratecat!

I'm sts at the moment due to totm and wanting eat chocolate and bread!! Still happily plodding along and thinking about next goal, perhaps 65Kg was too high but I guess I could get there and then decide. Been running pretty late to help with the heat but pretty determined to keep going.

nimbs · 28/05/2012 21:37

woohoo - am in a new stone bracket!! weighed this morning - another 6lb off (I only weigh monthly so not huge amounts weekly - lol but it IS going) Am really chuffed - and now people are actually noticing - the hard work is worth it - though am still in the overweight bmi bit so more needs to go!!!

Well done everyone else who has lost :)
