New thread since the old one is full :)

Hello all, and welcome to the new people!

Today marks the end of week 2 for me and I have lost 8.2lbs so far. My 'official' weigh-in is tonight but I did sneakily weigh myself on Saturday for a bit of a kick up the bum after a bit of a naughty Friday which involved cake, wine and cocktails. Blush

I have been having ice lollies as treats after dinner (Soleros are about 90 calories, ditto Skinny Cow and the Del Monte Smoothie ones) but yesterday I discovered that Mini Milks are 30 cals! Thirty! That's amazing. And they're bloody delicious too. And Mini Twisters are 45 cals. So even if I don't leave 100 cals for a big lolly, I can still have a little treat.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 21/05/2012 16:17

My scales have given up the ghost!
They are now saying 66 stone, without anyone standing on them :o
Any affordable recommendations for new scales would be great :)

MackerelOfFact · 21/05/2012 16:36

I got ones www.johnlewis.com/231364071/Product.aspx#reviews a couple of weeks ago, they seem fine and do the job!

MackerelOfFact · 21/05/2012 16:37

These ones even!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/05/2012 16:44

That's serious commitment not being able to see results in numbers aliciaflorrick!!!

It takes a while for people who don't know to mention it behindlocknumbernine as they're worried about putting their foot in it!

Welcome utterlybutterly! I was 95Kg when I started so in the obese range and have just got into the normal range at 68Kg after 6 months (4 of them on mfp), you can do it!

Well done MackerelOfFact, maybe I should look into more ice cream treats. Been resisting buying the new Ben and Jerry's flavours as I have never had any will power with them before.

Sorry no recommendations MonsterBookOfTysons, I've had mine for about 8 years!

piratecat · 21/05/2012 18:29

hello everyone, i have been away from here a couple of weeks, nice to see so many new ladies, and read the determined support again.

I got to 10st 08!! this was about a week ago then up to 10st 9, then back down to the 8. due on so not surprised. It took me 3 weeks to lose that pound to get to 11stone, now i just want to get closer to the 10stone, by the summer holidays.

Am drinking water, lots. Keep going to the tap everytime i need a wee, seems to be a plan!!!

BehindLockNumberNine · 21/05/2012 21:27

Hi Pirate, great news about the 10.8!!

I have a delicate problem - I appear to be constipated...
I normally go every morning but nothing now for 3 days. Not feeling uncomfortable yet but getting a bit annoyed (if nothing else it must make me heavy, right?)
Any advice? Is this normal?

cinnamongreyhound · 21/05/2012 21:41

Drink LOTS of water BehindLockNumberNine, orange juice, grapes, bran and prunes are supposed to be good. Could also be less in less out so you may naturally need to go less?

piratecat · 21/05/2012 21:53

yes down the water like you never have before.

apple juice, does that work.

bexsybooboo · 22/05/2012 06:58

BehindLockNumberNine · 22/05/2012 07:49

Thanks all. I struggle with drinking water (can't bear the taste) but will perservere today. It is going to be a warm day so I don't think anyone at school will look surprised if I carry a waterbottle with me.

Was awake early today (6am) as dh woke me accidentally when he was getting ready for work so I took the opportunity to take the dog for a 45 minute romp through the woods - was magical! Really quiet, lots of birds, fresh clean air, loved it Smile

Right, best get ready for another day at the grindstone school. Have had a hearty breakfast of coffee, almonds, fresh strawberries and some Greek yoghurt. Should be able to last a while on that! (anything to stop me diving into the biscuit barrel in the staffroom)

Have a good day all of you, and thank you for being here as I doubt I would manage to lose any weight if I were doing it on my own.

RGPargy · 22/05/2012 10:44

Lol @ your scales monster Grin

Just bookmarking. Now that I think I am slightly everso bored with FarmVille (Blush) I might find enough time to catch up on REAL people, albeit people of an Ethernet sort...... :-/ Blush Grin

MonsterBookOfTysons · 22/05/2012 11:28

Hi can I just ask that if anyone adds me on mfp to leave me a message to say they are off mn please as I do not add anybody I don't 'know' :)

Bproud · 22/05/2012 19:19

behindlock I found dulcoease, along with the water, useful to ease the constipation just one or 2 doses work just fine for me, I think it is just the change of diet that causes the problem. i have been doing some lovely hill climbing for the last couple of days, the weather and views are just glorious.

BehindLockNumberNine · 22/05/2012 20:45

Thanks all. Things started moving today so feeling better already :-)

MaggieMagnolia · 22/05/2012 22:07

Have had a rubbish start - couldn't get going on monday or today Sad

Must do better!

Plan is to start the day with a 40 min dog walk and a bowl of porridge. I really need to do this - say motivational things to me please!!! Smile

CrunchyFrog · 23/05/2012 10:06

Oops.

Fancied a bottle of Yazoo this morning, so am over on sugars before I've even eaten!

Grin

1lb off. Grin

UtterlyButterly · 23/05/2012 10:11

I am on day three on MFP and I'm pleased with my eating so far.

I just need to get my bum into gear in the evenings and do some excersise!

BehindLockNumberNine · 23/05/2012 12:33

Maggie, I hope you managed your dog walk and your porridge!!
I have been walking the dog every morning, the last two days I have got up specially early and hit the woods by 6.15am. Magical, the birds are tweeting, the air is fresh, very very nice!

Bproud · 23/05/2012 21:00

maggie how did you get on today? I find that exercise is important for me now not just for the weightloss, but for my peace of mind and self worth. If you ever see a mad woman walking the hills and lanes of Hampshire and singing tunelessly along with an ipod that will be me - it makes me feel great Grin

aliciaflorrick · 23/05/2012 21:22

How is everyone getting on? I was doing well, until today. It was my birthday and DS2 insisted we had birthday cake and trifle for tea. Still, tomorrow is another day and all that.

I too enjoy marching along listening to my iPod singing my head off.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/05/2012 21:26

How did you get on MaggieMagnolia, couldn't remember your mfp nn so I couldn't check on there Wink

I am almost always over my sugars CrunchyFrog but wasn't today Grin. Well done on your weightloss.

Well done UtterlyButterly, keep it up. Go for a walk to get you started, can do it anywhere and it's free :)

Is anyone watching secret eaters? It's really interesting, I am much more conscious of what I eat now but I do tend to pick while I'm cooking but I now have a very small dinner and I don't do it anywhere near as much as I used to.

Went for my run tonight despite being really tired (perhaps the heat) and feeling fed up (bit of a long story but a friend of mine upset me). It was still a bit too warm for me but I managed 27 mins so not bad.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/05/2012 21:28

x-posts aliciaflorrick, happy birthday! Hope you enjoyed the cake and trifle :)

RGPargy · 24/05/2012 08:55

Water, water, water!!

That is all I have to say. (for now!) Grin

aliciaflorrick · 24/05/2012 09:05

After my huge sugar rush yesterday after 10 days of doing without I'm back to cravings again - thank goodness for the saviour that is fizzy water.
