New thread since the old one is full :)

Afternoon all! Took Mum's dog on an epic walk, it was so nice out we just didn't stop. Probably only 4 miles as the crow flies, but up and down sand dunes and messing about in the nature reserve chasing rabbits (the dog, not me) took up more time. 440 calories though! Woop :D

Out tonight, have to watch out for the post-gig kebab...

Niceupthedance · 12/05/2012 16:58

Woah I am having a v bad 24 hours. Drove to London (car snacks) missed dinner so had fast food potato wedges then about 8 vodkas... Today has been worse, carb and sugar fest Sad. Will have to be extra good this week - have decided to weigh in at the gym on Thursdays so a few days to make up for this meltdown!

Thanks for adding me on MFP those who have Smile

ViviPru · 12/05/2012 18:25

Well I must say all the encouraging comments on MFP are really helping so thank you!

I've dropped a pound this week. My Mum thinks her scales are a bit out, but I figure if I keep to those scales, whether the actual weight is right or wrong the gain/loss will be accurate.

Cinnamon the 1390 was based on losing 2st in 1 year from 12st7 to 10st7...

sparkleshine · 12/05/2012 19:00

Evening ladies :)

Welcome to the new MFP buddies and welcome back to those that have had a break :) Feel free to add me. Sparklemummy.
Well done vivi for the weight loss :)
niceup, don't worry about the snacking/bad day. We all have those but as long as its not an everyday thing then the weight will still drop off.

I don't know how a few of you do marathons, I just don't have the patience or the drive for it so well done to you :)

Had a good day today but I'm sooo craving a mcflurry right now. On mcd's website the lowest cal one is smarties but it's 320!. But its weigh day tomorrow so really shouldn't.

Was also wondering about this Insanity that some of you seem to be into. I've bought a dance excersising DVD but its too fast and complicated for me and would like something I can use inbetween gym sessions. Anyone got any ideas?

Doodlekitty · 12/05/2012 19:13

Hi all. I'm very new to this (have just downloaded the app today) but I used to use a similar pay monthly website.

I'm currently about 5 stone overweight with a BMI of 37. It's a scary amount and I have been trying to lose forever. But I have hit a 'complication' that cannot be ignored. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant. Due to this I am obviously NOT starting a diet. However, I'm hoping this is a good way to start noticing what I actually eat and start making better choices. I'm under the care of a consultant who knows what I am doing.

Have set the app for no loss, as that is not the goal at the mo. I want to eat better so that after baby I am already in the habit and can start to lose. I'm aiming for healthy rather than thin.

Have not read this whole thread (will start now, looking for tips, but its LONG). hoping posting on here will help me stay in the general area of on track

ValiumQueen · 12/05/2012 19:23

OOh Doodle - SNAP! Lurking too for tips

Do you have to have to have a swanky I phone? I only have a Blackberry.

Doodlekitty · 12/05/2012 19:27

Meant to say, my mfp name is same as on here so please add me, I currently have no friends :(

Doodlekitty · 12/05/2012 19:28

Yes vallium, I am indeed swanky! Having an app means I have no excuse!

ValiumQueen · 12/05/2012 20:09

I am led to believe there is a pregnancy setting on the app which adjusts your needs accordingly. Seeing as though we are practically twins, could you tell me a bit about what it is telling you Doodle?

RGPargy · 12/05/2012 22:56

Hello newbies and congratulations!! :o

Please add me - same name as here :)

Will catch up in the morning - off to bed now. N'night all!!

:oxx

sparkleshine · 13/05/2012 19:15

Well I'm very happy today. Lost 2 lbs so that takes me to 5 stone 1lb :) :) :). Still got loads to go but pleased with myself, so I've gone well over my cal goal and not excersised either. Sunday is usually a relaxed day anyway as I weigh in morning.

Hope everyone is well :)

bexsybooboo · 13/05/2012 21:17

Great weight loss sparkleshine really inspirational to me as I have lost 3 but have at least another 3 stone to go.

Reading people's weight losses reminds me that it is doable Smile

RGPargy · 13/05/2012 21:47

Wow, great loss Sparkle!! You have done amazing! I am well Envy of your commitment to your weight loss! I wish my willpower was as strong as yours!

Hopefully · 13/05/2012 21:50

Pleased to report that my 6-week-plateau-breaking loss yesterday was not just a blip - I am still down today! Hoping it will continue to shift from here on.

Was pleased to get back to Insanity today - I was so over on my calories yesterday without my workout calories to use up! No shin pain, thank goodness, so hoping that rest, better trainers, insoles and exercise mat has solved the problem. I've decided to only do insanity this week and skip my usual mon/wed/fri runs, so as not to push myself too hard and risk taking more time off. Will just go for a couple of brisk walks or something and get back into C25K next week (only 2 weeks to go!)

Bproud · 13/05/2012 21:53

bookmarking, will be back tomorrow (Rtell om MFP)

MonsterBookOfTysons · 13/05/2012 22:18

Well done Sparkle :)
I have a stiff neck, I can not look to the right, but am planning on going swimming tomorrow as I only need to look forward :o

cinnamongreyhound · 13/05/2012 22:34

Welcome Doodlekitty, I had a BMI of 35 when I started and it's now 25.3 so almost into normal range! I'd say that mfp is a great way to be aware of what you're eating and to try to be healthier. I was lucky that I lost weight in both of my pregnancies due to being sick and then having a smaller appetite and was less at full term than when I got pregnant and had two healthy baby boys so it is possible to lose weight healthily while pregnant.

Well done sparkleshine!!

I am in my static phase I seem to have every month around the time I ovulate so despite doing exactly the same as I do every week I'm not losing but it's fine annoying. I bought myself my first ever pair of three quarter length trousers yesterday to run in as I was do hot running on Thursday and I actually wore them in public today, very comfy but a bit chilly around the ankles while I was warming up! Glad everyone seems to be positive whether losing or not, we are all doing a great job Grin

MonsterBookOfTysons · 13/05/2012 23:30

Cinnamon I am also in a static phase, it is frustrating but my muscles feel very toned. :)
Welcome newbies, feel free to add me, same name as on here :)

cinnamongreyhound · 14/05/2012 07:05

I keep thinking I'm not sure if my muscles are more toned or there's just less fat so I can feel them more!! The rain is back here, boo!! I will find some time to swim sometime soon, everytime I hear you saying you're swimming I'm Envy.

Random point shouldn't we have some smileys with crowns by now Grin

BehindLockNumberNine · 14/05/2012 07:43

Can't wait to find my muscles - well done cinnamon and monster Smile

Have not been on here for a few days - was in The Netherlands visiting mum for the weekend. I did log my food though...(but was over one day and not sure if I was accurate the second day)

It was weigh-in day yesterday and I did not manage it as I was not home so will postpone it until next Sunday. (due on too so let's get that over with...)

Welcome to any new mfp'ers Smile I have only been logging for 35 days so am still new too. Have a fair bit of weight to lose so will be in it for the long haul.
Please feel free to add me, my name is petd on mfp Smile

HipHopOpotomus · 14/05/2012 10:59

Good Monday everyone - welcome newbies! I am HipHopOpotomus2 on MFP - please add me.

700 grammes (1.2lbs) lost this week - hooray! That is a loss every week since I started at the end of March. Had lots on the last couple of weeks and I'm really happy & thankful that I've managed to lose and not gain during DD's birthday, christening & the Waitrose Cookery School MN day (3 calorific courses - butter butter butter, wine etc). Not sure that discovering Truffle Mayonnaise was the best idea at this point in my life - I'm in LOVE!

So BIG effort to stay in calories all week and LOG LOG LOG over the weekend - last couple of weekends I've not logged.

Wishing you a great week & looking for a little less of everyone next Monday.

HipHopOpotomus · 14/05/2012 11:03

Just read upthread - well done everyone!!!

I find it soooo encouraging to see some people on here who are losing life changing amounts of weight. Which is what I am aiming for. My initial goal is set for 90kilos, but long term I want to get into the official 'healthy weight range'. This week I'm aiming to get below 100kgs. 300 grammes to go!

jchocchip · 14/05/2012 13:00

Marking place back from holiday. Only put on a lb for 10 days not really logging and I've already lost it! very pleased, think it was water retention! Now to get back on track and lose 7lbs by mid June to make my next mini goal of 18 stone...

nimbs · 14/05/2012 13:26

Marking place too! Not my time to weigh - good job too as it was DD's birthday & party this weekend - so there was lots of baking & cakes - so the scales will be going up not down at the moment! Am hoping to make up for it by being good ignoring the rest of the birthday cake this week.

Well done everyone who has lost this past week - and hello to newbies :)

Bproud · 14/05/2012 19:51

I've lost my exercise gumption with this horrible weather and not logging often enough either - give me a kick up the bum please - off to log into MFP now...
