Amazed I have done 110 days on mfp!! I'm still finding it really addictive to log my food and as well as not feeling deprived I am finding that I have to eat something some evenings to get to the 1200 calories so it doesn't tell me off for not eating enough. Feeling very positive at the moment but as I am now only 2.5Kg away from my goal and still have far more flab than I'd like I think I will have to set a new target soon!

HipHopOpotomus · 27/04/2012 09:45

What I love about MFP is at the end of the day when you finish logging and you get the message ""In 5 weeks you will weight XX kilos"

I LOVE that - it's either a little pat on the back, reinforcement of what you have done during the day and the wise decisions you have made, OR a total wake up call saying "watch yourself cause if this eating is "normal" then you're getting bigger every day".

I find it very powerful tool!

well done cinnamon - great results!!!

babs I agree it's great isn't it. How you can recover, make choices to avert disaster etc!

Hi everyone Grin. Just checking in! Sorry I've not posted on here in the last week or so - I am so much more active on mfp than here tho!

I have had a good week this week! Grin I have upped my calories as I felt I was cheating every time I went over, despite having exercise calories to eat as I don't eat them at all. So have upped my cals to 1720 I think (it was mfp that gave me that figure) and or seems to be working so far. Since Monday I have lost almost 2lbs and that's even with a massive treat night on Wednesday so I'm well chuffed with that!

If there are any newbies, please feel free to add me. Same name as here Grin

Will try and catch up on the thread today if I'm quiet at work! Grin

MonsterBookOfTysons · 27/04/2012 10:50

Just checking in, I am on a weight loss role atm so :o
Newbies feel free to add me, same name as on here :)

cinnamongreyhound · 27/04/2012 13:46

Well it looks like the iron levels on mfp are accurate, went to give blood today and they've turned me away and won't take my blood again for 12 months to let my iron levels return to what they were. She said it could be because my period started today and that people can be perfectly fine with lower than normal iron but they've recommended that I see my gp :( :(

jchocchip · 29/04/2012 08:43

I'm sure you can fix your iron level now you are aware of it. If it is borderline they won't take your blood and leave you low.

I've had a bad couple of weeks, not been logging as well and given in to sugar cravings around totm. Oh holiday now so looking forward to more exercise, eating healthier and getting back on logging everything! Realise that stress affects my eating. Need less stress :(

cinnamongreyhound · 29/04/2012 08:50

That's exactly it, I didn't know it was a problem as I totally understand them not taking it Friday jchocchip but to stop me from donating for a year seems a bit much to me. Sorry to hear you are not doig so well, perhaps you just need a break and when you get back to it it will all make sense again. I think it's hard to help with stuff like this as everyone has their own motivators and pitfalls and you just have to find them and learn to use them. I know the few things together that triggered me to want to lose weight but am amazed that I'm still going strong and haven't fallen of the wagon yet, it's a totally different mental state I think. How's the running going?

jchocchip · 29/04/2012 10:25

just got in from an attempt at week 4 with dh. Started the first run faster, but slowed right down for the other 3. Dh said how much better it felt than when he did week 4 for 'real' Trying to work on speed, but I've been a bit under the weather so not pushing too hard. And I gave up on the shred after one day on level 2... And haven't managed to fit in a swim this week. But it will all come back together, I'm sure. Will have to lay off the chocolate and emotional eating and log everything, soon be back on track :)

MonsterBookOfTysons · 29/04/2012 20:26

Oh God, I have been to a chinese buffet today for sil's birthday, I have done well, kept below cals even with chocolate cake and a tiny amount of trifle.
I had fruit and salad and a small plate of dinner.
This was at 2pm, so I spread it all out as lunch and dinner.
I am starving now!!!
I have 9 cals left :(
I may actually spend the night on my stepper so I can eat or I will not sleep :o

cinnamongreyhound · 29/04/2012 21:18

Just go over for a day monsterbookoftysons, it's not like you do it all the time! Just have something sensible to fill you up but not too calorie dense. I am quite proud of myself this weekend as we went to Pizza hut Friday, I was babysitting yesterday for some Americans and they have soooooo much junk in their house and today was ds1's party and then to my mum's for dinner. Haven't run this weekend but have kept within my calories and I got my period Friday too so not bad at all :)

BehindLockNumberNine · 29/04/2012 22:39

I agree with cinnamon - just go over for a day...
I had a day like that on Saturday - FIL's birthday lunch complete with a pudding and then cake (tried to be good and have small portions), and then a friend's 50th birthday party that night. A few drinks and then I struggled to stay away from the buffet table...

Just treat yourself just this once and back to being sensible and active next week...

MonsterBookOfTysons · 29/04/2012 23:25

Hi, I managed to stay under so am very happy, I did some stepper and sit ups and weights will not talk about the weights
Cinnamon scary but I came on my period yesterday, we went pizza hut friday and obviously party today :o
Your diary made me smile, well done managing to just have 1 party ring :o
Behind I agree with having a naughty day but pizza hut day I was over by about 400 cals :o

nimbs · 30/04/2012 11:25

Grin I only weigh myself once a month - and have lost 6lbs this month :) Though I've bought new scales which are showing that I'm 3lb heavier then my old ones which are completely knackered -so I am keeping the old ones lol!! Am trying to convince myself that I would have been 3lb heavier at the beginning - so the weight I've lost remains the same iyswim - come and convince me more -please!

HipHopOpotomus · 30/04/2012 11:28

Good morning!!!! I've lost a further 1.5 kilos - WOOOO HOOOO! I'm now under 16 stone for the first time in an age, next mini goal is to get below 100 kilos (and never see the far side of 100 kilos again).

And I went for a swim this morning before work!!!! Finding time for regular exercise is a real issue for me, but if I'm super organised I think I can get a swim in 2 or 3 mornings every week.

It is DD2's 1st birthday and christening this week so I'm aiming to be VERY good for 5 days and a little bit rotten on the other 2 days - fingers crossed I can maintain.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 30/04/2012 11:51

Well done hiphop :)
nimbs it sounds as though your theory with the scales makes sense :)

jchocchip · 30/04/2012 18:00

nimbs its all relative so the actual number doesn't make any difference to your loss, just the new scales weigh heavy. I weigh less on my mums scales than on my wii, but I'm very glad I can weigh on them. For years I was above their top number! Seen some photos on the boards where people have not lost any weight but the change in their measurements is impressive. I wouldn't mind not losing if I could lose my tummy!

OneTwoOrThree · 30/04/2012 20:31

Three weeks in for me and still going strong. Was over in calories last week - by about 100 a day, but feel ok about that as my baseline cals are 1200 a day. Averaging 1300 a day is still much less than I was eating pre-diet Blush

That said I'm aiming to be under this week.

Do any of you do the shred? Is it worth getting the DVD? How many calories does it burn?

nimbs · 30/04/2012 20:48

Thanks monster and chocchip - am going for the weigh heavy scales - in my head though i'm the smaller number - lol. onetwo- I've got the shred it's very good but i also do zumba on the wii which i love - I am using the shred to start my strength training rather than the cardio so am not doing it every day. Lots of before/after pictures on mfp - which are quite motivational.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/05/2012 07:12

That is a bit scary MonsterBookOfTysons!! Let's hope we both still lose something!

Well done on all the weigh losses, whatever scales it's great! Static at tw moment due to totm.

Haven't manage to run since Thursday as its was ds1's birthday and party and working Saturday. Was going to go yesterday but was so tired and just wanted an easy evening without rushing around!! I'm goig tonight though probably in the rain!

Rianoceros · 01/05/2012 22:23

I got logged out of MFP, so gave up and went back to the SW plan. It's done me no good. I'll be logging back in tomorrow.

Hope you are all doing fab. Will try and catch up.

OneTwoOrThree · 02/05/2012 12:18

Welcome back Rianocerous Smile

I'm new round here. Three weeks in and I've lost 6lb so feeling pleased with myself. Rewarded myself with some Liz Earle cleanse and polish (clearly a sign I've spent too long on mn!).

MFP name is the same as here so feel free to add me.

Good luck for this week Wink

BehindLockNumberNine · 02/05/2012 22:34

Hello rianocerous :-) I am new here too. Joined mfp just over 3 weeks ago and have lost 11lbs so far so am pretty happy :-)

sparkleshine · 02/05/2012 23:07

Hi everyone.
Haven't been on mumsnet for a while ( split with ex, moving in and out of parents house, settling into new house etc) and thought I'd have a browse and noticed this thread. :)

Been on MFP now for 265 days and that's logging in everyday ( yes even Christmas day) and I have currently lost a total of 4 stone 13lbs. :)
Feeling excellent. Was size 22 and currently in a 16 though I can just about squeeze into my mums 14.
Haven't really got a target, but got at least a stone to go. The only problem I have is the saggy disgusting skin around my belly.
Go to gym twice a week.

Weight loss has been slowing down recently as I knew it would. Also now it's just me and DS I'm finding it hard not to snack in the evenings when watching tv.
Also at the same time my SIL lost almost 4 stone on MFP and is now pregnant so although she logs on, has stopped dieting which hasn't helped my motivation much.

Hoping joining this thread gives me the extra push to get into those 14's / 12's

Xx
