Yourself pirate?

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 19/04/2012 23:55

Babs I lost 2 stone with slimming world, but then just stalled despite sticking to it. Though not really moving much with mfp ATM, but that 's my fault! Sw is great if you're pg or bfing due to the unlimited portions. I was just fed up too of only eating certain foods. Prefer calorie counting and exercise I think !

cinnamongreyhound · 20/04/2012 07:11

I think the trouble with all the low carb, slimming world, weight watchers is they all have rules BabsJansen and if you deviate from those rules you don't lose. Life doesn't always allow you to follow certain criteria and I think that counting calories works because you can adapt it where ever you go or what ever you're doing. If you go out and have lunch with friends either accept your dinner will have to be small or eat only half of what's in front of you. Eat less calories than your body is using and you will lose weight, sometimes it's slow and frustrating and it's easy to cheat and not count some things but for me it's the best way as I can eat what I want to, I've just learned to eat less of it. I think mfp is great in that you very quickly get a feel for how many calories things have and you can then make informed choices. Don't know a lot about Paul McKenna but there is a thread here so might be worth reading that or posting your questions there.

monster - that is promising!! I did enjoy the speedwalking yesterday, was in the middle of the woods with the dog, not another human being closeby. Was very aware I was doing that daft sticking-out-bum style of speedwalking but I don't care. Ddog and I crossed the heathers in record time Grin

piratecat · 20/04/2012 08:29

lol @ speedwalking movements, bloody good on you for going!!

devoncounty i live in K, south of you, the other side of Tot.

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 20/04/2012 08:30

I will join I have been trying 4 weeks and not lost anything !

piratecat · 20/04/2012 08:40

hi, have you just joined the plan, or been doing it for 4 weeks?

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 20/04/2012 08:51

Hi pirate iv been doing the plan for 4 weeks.
I had put 2 stone on with medication- I have come off the drug now , but have learnt that it is extremely difficult to lose the weight Sad.
I'm so disheartened . I have never been so big in my life . Even when I was pregnant SadSad .
I really want this to work but am losing hope and finding that increasingly I'm having more days where I'm not filling in my diary . I'm on 1400 a day .

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 20/04/2012 09:08

Pirate - cool! Lovely town. Lots of my family are from tot and the s hams. N A works for us ATM, as I'm commuting to Exeter, but probably wouldn't be my first choice in places to live!

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 20/04/2012 09:09

P.s. I love the veggie cafe there if I'm thinking about the right place!Grin

piratecat · 20/04/2012 09:35

I am a veggie, not found that! so not sure we are. !! my town is southernmost, by estuary?

Nannyplum, you sound like you have had alot to contend with. HOnestly, stick around everyone has been really kind and helpful to me, i have only been posting for a few weeks.

What sort of foods do you like? Are you finding the mix of groups ok?

I like I am veggie tho.

Ryvitas and houmous, with cucumber.
Rice and big load of veg, and i have soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce.
Porridge for breaky, then i can have a wholemeal sarnie for lunch.
If i have toast for breaky I don't have bread the rest of the day. But i do have ryvita.
Eggs, beans and mushrooms.
Veggie sausages, or bugers with a heap of carrot and brocolli. always have tomato sauce.
I have a Morissons toffee Cornetto almost every day as my evening treat.
Crumpets as a snack with a little jam, or wholemeal slice with peanut butter and banana, when i feel i need carbs.

I am now keeping a mug by the sink, and forcing myself to drink water, even a few gulps. As i said earlier, it's surprising how often we go to the sink!

I am so sure you will see a loss soon. Are you feeling/looking any different in your clothes, or feeling slightly smaller?

MonsterBookOfTysons · 20/04/2012 10:01

I have bought new batteries and lost a pound!
(does happy dance)
It was 1.2lbs so I need to lose 0.8 to be where I was before I put the 2lb back on.
Next goal is under 150lbs, 2lbs to go for that one :)
My treat every night is meant to be 4 squares of plain choc but. I keep getting the munchies and doubling the choc and eating bourbon biscuits. I cope better when I have nothing sweet in the house :o

I am taking dc swimming today, then.doing hopefully an hour on my own so today will be a good day :o

piratecat · 20/04/2012 18:36

i might try the dark chocolate in the house thing.

they would have to come in bars of 4 squares tho really!

MonsterBookOfTysons · 20/04/2012 21:55

But then you would have to unwrap the bars Wink

FIL has noticed that I lost weight! I am so happy and a bit gutted that he had noticed I was big He is the first to notice other than dh, even before my mum, and mil who goes aqua aerobics :o

bexsybooboo · 21/04/2012 08:30

sheepishly bookmarking as have had a disgraceful 2 weeks and no gym or swimming this week due to arms being painful following body pumpSad

Note to self and a hard kick up the arse back on it properly from Monday yet another postponement but have a McDonald's trip today and ds friends round Blush

Well done to those with great weight losses and great exercising going on Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 21/04/2012 08:50

Yay MonsterBookOfTysons!!!

Just have a happy meal bexsybooboo, it's only 530 cals and much tastier than a crappy salad. Plus you get a toy Wink and still get to eat their fries! Have you gained weight from your lack of exercise? Guessing you're going to give body pump a miss for a while then?

piratecat · 21/04/2012 09:07

oh isn't it great when someone Notices!! yip yip

MonsterBookOfTysons · 21/04/2012 09:33
