MonsterBookOfTysons · 15/04/2012 16:16

Oh site maintenance, I need to log my dinner on before I forget the amounts :o

BehindLockNumberNine · 15/04/2012 18:51

Quick (and probably stupid), now that I have lost a (tiny) bit of weight, will MFP change my daily calorie allowance or will that not happen until I have lost a fair bit more??

MonsterBookOfTysons · 15/04/2012 18:58

Mine has just been reset so I am on 1300 instead of 1320. I was playing about with it and reset my goals.
Give it a try :)

piratecat · 15/04/2012 19:39

bexsy well done on your pound.

I spent 20 quid on veg today, and have had a much more healthy day than of late. I think i havent been strict enough, well i haven been over my cals but prob havent had enough veg.

I had the most gorgeous 100g of the greek yog, with a banana and the tiniest bit of maple syrup thrown over. yum yum, so thanks for the tip.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/04/2012 20:18

Bexsybooboo that sounds exhausting!!! Well done on your lb and hope the cider hasn't done too much damage!

BehindLockNumberNine mine didn't do it automatically but if you go in and change your goals then change them back it adjusts you calorie levels.

I've hardly eaten bananas since I joined mfp piratecat due to them being 110 cals, seems like a lot for fruit would rather use the calories other ways Blush

BettyBathroom · 15/04/2012 20:53

Peanut Bananas are too high in carbs - I haven't touched them in months. After loading your spoon with food try dipping the tip of it into a well of maple syrup - you'll hardly need anything at all to give you the sweet sensation at the back of your tongue.

I had a great dinner - kids and dh had roast chicken, I had veggie sausage...we all had broccoli, celeriac gratin, cauliflower mash (kids had roasties but wanted the cauliflower mash next time!!!) with a leek and porcini gravy - I had a smallish portion but still couldn't finish it - hurrah for low carbing I eat like a bird now - I still drink like a fish but no matter.....the weight is going!!!

Cauliflower is a miracle veg - we got one portion of Thai veg curry from the local Thai Restaurant last night, stir fried it with a large portion of prawns from the supermarket and served it with cauliflower rice - the flavour was fantastic, dh and I were both stuffed, had a lovely treat and we'd eaten relatively few calories. Grin I'm not good at depriving myself.

Weigh in day tomorrow but my loss will be small as I only tend to lose on fortnightly basis....should really move my weigh in to fortnightly, but I still live in hope!

piratecat · 15/04/2012 21:26

i like a banana now and again! I find it really filling for the amount of cals tbh.

Just had tomato soup for tea and a couple ryvitas, so nice when u feel poorly.

not going to weigh in for a week now. so will be back to hopefully say i have lost!

BehindLockNumberNine · 15/04/2012 21:38

thanks all, have reset my goals and it has knocked 40cals off my daily allowance... Smile

Well done pirate must feel good. I lost another 1lb which I wasn't expecting as I lost last week. I have 3lbs to go before I reach my final target...really hoping the fat decides to remove itself from my legs.

BettyBathroom · 16/04/2012 18:02

I do low carb, high protein and I calorie count with a bit of Paul McKenna conscious eating thrown in. It's not meant to work but it does for me.

piratecat · 16/04/2012 18:31

i am deffo veering towards the more protein and adequate carbs, proper carbs in veg. this seems to be my thang.

BehindLockNumberNine · 16/04/2012 19:03

Woohoo, pirate, way to go!! Pleased that pound has finally shifted Smile

Babs, have sent you a friend req.

First day back at work today after the Easter holidays and of course the staffroom is full of cakes as it was someone's birthday...
I stayed strong but it was hard....

piratecat · 16/04/2012 19:28

thankyou!!

i was in shock, as i put on a pound yesterday. bloatation I tell ye.

I am 11stone, and very much looking forward to getting under that 11 barrier, for the first time since 2006!!

BettyBathroom · 16/04/2012 19:50

Babs It's not meant to work because I'm taking the ideas I like and that suit me from each diet I have read about. Diets are supposed to have science behind them, you're not supposed to count cals when you are low carbing, you're supposed to eat loads of fat...which I don't, I eat normal amounts of fat. I'm not being a purist and that is always predicted to end in disaster & general tutting from the dieting gurus.
But we're all different, I found something that works for me, but it might not work for you.

BettyBathroom · 16/04/2012 19:52

Think I've been most horrified by how many calories there are in a slice of cake or a muffin - average 500kcal!!!! I had no idea. Blush

jchocchip · 16/04/2012 20:07

Think smaller slices? I seem to be managing ok, lose 1 week and not the next and weight always up at totm! Don't want to lose too fast and I seem to be doing ok overall. I do like eating back some of my exercise calories, so can usually have enough to eat...
