Hello all and happy mother's day. Oregano pittas sound delish Belle and toboganning sounds great fun Knotty. DH kindly made a turkey roast for lunch - suspect wont need much tea tonight.

What is chocolate philly like Belle?

knottyhair · 19/03/2012 10:20

Morning! Sounds like you both had lovely days yesterday Belle & Dinky. I had a great time at my sister's - lovely roast lamb, and felt my great-niece moving and kicking around in my niece's tummy Smile. Had 2 glasses of Prosecco and 2 small pieces of lemon cheesecake as well, felt quite stuffed when we got home, but by 8pm I was chomping on a fishfinger sandwich so there you go! I did manage Ripped before I went, and did a Shred this morning. Making a cauliflower biryani for tea later. Lovely and sunny here - hope you all have a good day xx

dinky Chocolate Philly is lovely, of course. However, even though I ate a bucketful, it's not as cheesy as I'd have hoped, and I am telling myself that I won't be buying it again. :o
How lovely for you to feel the baby in your niece's belly, knotty! Has she long to go?

Well, Ratdog has arrived and seems to be settling in okay. He's a sweet little thing really, but I am exhausted already after all the walks! Won't do me any harm!
I had a lovely pitta bread with yogurt, salad and ham for my lunch. I have some pork to stir fry with noodles for tea (probably with ginger and soy sauce), and no doubt I'll need some apples and/or plums to give me energy to go out for yet another walk!

Have a nice evening, everyone :)

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 19/03/2012 15:16

Ah, fizz, baby bumps and cheese cake - a great day indeed knotty Grin

Belle - glad ratdog is settling in. Your meals today sound lovely - and all that walking will be good for you in the long run Grin

knottyhair · 20/03/2012 08:45

Morning! Glad Ratdog is settling in OK Belle - is that his actual name?? Your food yesterday sounded lovely, hope you have another nice day's eating lined up! It was lovely to feel Baby Squidge (their nickname for her) moving about - she is due end of May, so not too long now. Dinky, have you started physio?
Walking into town straight from school run so no Jillian today. Will probably end up in Pret for lunch - grilled plaice with couscous and veg for tea later.

OP posts:
dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 20/03/2012 10:42

Morning all - yep, am doing physio now Knotty (though still on one crutch). Mostly consists of massage to reduce the swelling and trying to bend my leg (not v good at doing it so far) and teaching me how to walk properly again. Weighed myself this morning and am up to 70kg (11 stone) from 10 and a half stone which is no real surprise so need to focus on my eating, stop drinking wine and get back to drinking lots of water to get weight back down to where it needs to be while I cant exercise.

BelleEnd · 20/03/2012 20:16

Half a stone really isn't that bad dinky, considering how you've had to drastically change your lifestyle since you were hurt. And it isn't a lot to lose, either, so don't worry about it :)
Your fish dinner sounds lovely knotty!

Ratdog (not his actual name but he looks a bit like http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&biw=1280&bih=685&tbm=isch&tbnid=51rpoHUBGJNiaM:&imgrefurl=kids.britannica.com/comptons/art-147193&docid=BwEvEtj5qmNbiM&imgurl=media.web.britannica.com/eb-media/62/1062-004-F19C4031.jpg&w=503&h=450&ei=peNoT9XqEOWm0QXImfGaCQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=730&sig=106552068794789430723&page=2&tbnh=145&tbnw=168&start=18&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:18&tx=107&ty=77 this ... is a lot of work. A lot of work. He needs taking out at least seven times a day Shock so I am completely tied to the house. He's eight years old, and should be able to cope for a few hours on his own- He did with my sister- He'll have to or I'll have a nervous breakdown! I swear to God, my children were less work than this when they were newborn...

Good start today, had a (cold) picnic of pitta breads with ham and salad with DS2 for lunch. Was so knackered and pissed off at having to mop up dog piss when we got home that I had a bit of a binge. Thankfully, I stuck to pretty low cal junk- Go aheads and Snack a Jacks and fruit- So I don't feel too awful. Also walked up a mountain with Ratdog for an hour.

BelleEnd · 20/03/2012 20:20

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 21/03/2012 09:18

7 times a day Shock You will be uberfit soon Belle. Well done on eating well when pissed off too Belle. On the plus side the dog does look v cute. My friend got a dog for company for her DS (she's been trying for a second child for years and it wasnt happening) and it was a NIGHTMARE - they had to get dog psychologists out and everything - so I appreciate what hard work it must be. Hopefully he'll settle down at yours soon and all will be well.

knottyhair · 21/03/2012 10:13

He looks cute Belle! But seven walks a day!! How do you get anything else done?? As Dinky says, you did well food-wise - I think clearing up dog wee would drive anyone mad. Dinky, I agree, I don't think half a stone is too bad at all, and you'll shift it soon enough. It's very hard when your body is used to lots of exercise, and the boredom kicks in which makes you snack more (or it would me!).

Definitely had AF nibbles yesterday but same as you Belle, tried to limit it to mainly good stuff. Did NMTZ this morning. Beef stew for tea tonight although it's not really beef stew weather here - beautiful day. Never mind, once the sun goes down, it still gets chilly! Have a lovely day x

OP posts:
BelleEnd · 21/03/2012 10:59

I'm glad you both said "omg seven walks a day" instead of "yes Belle, seven weeks a day is quite normal for a dog, didn't you know that you thicko?" I am not getting anything else done, really. I've done about 2 pages of work since he arrived. He is also weeing in the house now. :( He does it if I close the door on the room his bed in, which I only do at mealtimes for about 15 minutes. I think he's a bit annoyed to be left out, but I just feel as if I can't really go out for coffee with friends or anything. I am praying that this is just a settling in process. Hmm

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 21/03/2012 12:32

Maybe Ratdog is just feeling unsettled. Friend's psycho dog did that too (widdles in the house) - the psychiatrist said to make a nice den for him in his room, not close the door and it would help. Not sure it really did but must be worth a go?

Dinner tonight is chicken liver, apple and sage salad. Delicious and really low calorie (is a cook yourself thin recipe) but not one for people who dont like liver.

BelleEnd · 21/03/2012 20:40

Thanks dinky- Ratdog is definitely better when his door is not closed. I think you're right, I think he's just a bit unsettled, and I think maybe I am too. We're getting used to each other. Even though he peed this morning, I feel a bit better about everything tonight. I took him for two long walks, and another that was short and strenuous- I have an ache in my buttocks that means I'm getting some much needed exercise! I do feel a lot better and brighter after all this time in the sunshine, I must say- But ask me again when it's rainy!

Have had a good food day. Ham salad pitta for lunch again- The oregano pittas are a hit! And I made some pork chilli for dinner. I made something up after picking some cheap aubergines up at the market to go with the chilli instead of the potato DH and the children were having. I sliced them, coated them in a little salt, cayenne pepper and paprika and fried them in spray oil. They were absolutely lovely, and DH ate half! I shall certainly be making them again. I have also eaten a shedload of fruit. I'm planning a bag of carrot crisps and some go aheads during the apprentice! The carrot crisps are lovely- 60 cals a bag and really tasty. I got them on approvedfood.com very very cheaply.

knottyhair · 23/03/2012 13:07

Belle, hope Ratdog is settling in better. Dinky, that salad sound lovely, I love a bit of offal!
Did Killer Buns L3 this morning for the first time - tough but I enjoyed it. Prawn & smoked salmon salad wrap for lunch, burgers & salad for tea. Hope it's as beautiful where you are today as it is here x

OP posts:
dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 23/03/2012 14:11

It is indeed lovely out there Knotty - sadly am stuck at work but tomorrow is supposed to be lovely too so something to look forward to. Here is the salad recipe (I feel its only fair to give you it as you've suggested so many fab recipes on here):

  • peel and core 2 apples, cut into 8 segments each
  • spray some olive oil and add 2 teaspoons of butter to a pan on heat
  • put apples in and cook till they turn slightly golden
  • chuck in the trimmed chicken livers (I use 400g carton) and pan fry for 10 minutes or so until thoroughly cooked
  • chuck in 2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar and reduce down, add salt and pepper to taste (you can add dried sage at this stage too if you dont have any fresh)
  • put salad leaves on plate, lie the chicken livers and apples plus dressing ontop and scatter on sage.

Takes about 15 minutes to do and so yummy!

knottyhair · 23/03/2012 14:16

Thanks Dinky Smile!

Hi all! Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and got to enjoy the beautiful weather. Was a bit out of the zone yesterday - went to a baby shower for my niece who's baby girl is due at end of May. It was really lovely but did involve cake and sandwiches. Had pizza last night as we got back a bit late to cook. Also I made a grapefruit drizzle cake on Saturday and I ended up (love that phrase, like it was completely out of my control!) having a piece at 9pm last night. Oh well. I had done Ripped in 30 on Saturday, nothing yesterday and Ripped again this morning, so hopefully not too bad. Veggie curry with a chapatti for tea tonight. Hope everyone's OK xxx

Gosh its quiet on here isnt it - hopefully it means you're all out there enjoying the sun (Ratdog obviously brought it with him Belle Grin). Have period and feeling v bloated and bleurgh at present - but is DS1's 6th birthday on 25 April so am setting myself that as my target to lose half a stone by, so I have something to aim for.

knottyhair · 28/03/2012 10:12

V.quiet! Everyone must be sunbathing Wink. Aah, Dinky, it's rough when you feel like that, but good luck with your target, I'm sure you'll get there Smile. Did L3 Killer Buns & Thighs this morning. Gave DP & DS the last of the grapefruit drizzle cake in their packed lunches this morning so thank god that's gone and can't call my name from the cake tin anymore. Duck stir-fry with spring greens & noodles for tea. Can I just mention Ben & Jerry's Frozen Yoghurt, Cherry Garcia flavour? 160 cals for a decent sized portion and bloody lovely it is too! Have a lovely day whatever you're all up to x

Oooooh have spent the last week comfort eating because of the dog. He doesn't like my youngest DS and so can't come in the main house anymore- Only in the lean-to (which is clean and warm, so he's okay.) I take him out 8 times a day Shock which is kind of nice- I'm impressed at how much my fitness has improved in just over a week, but I am busy with work and it's a bit distracting.
I'm going to cut down on the crap this week, and carry on with the walking!

knottyhair · 30/03/2012 10:39

Belle, glad you're enjoying all the walking, although 8 times a day seems pretty excessive! Good luck with eating better - how long have you got the dog for??
Ended up with a rather dicky tummy last night - not sure why. Feel a bit better this morning but not really up to working out. Going to try to take it easy as we're going out tonight to see Mark Steel, but I think I'll veto the planned curry beforehand! Have a good weekend everyone! xx

knottyhair · 02/04/2012 10:20

Goodness moi it's quiet! Hope you're all off enjoying the holidays. Haven't felt up to doing any exercise the last couple of days with the tummy bug but much better now - did L3 Shred this morning. Off to the park in a minute with friends for a play and a picnic, hoping to enjoy the last of the sunshine before the "wintry showers" arrive tomorrow! Cauliflower & sweet potato curry for tea later. Hope everyone's OK xx

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 11/04/2012 12:38

Hello all. V quiet on here no? I'm quiet in real life as have viral pharyngitis - makes swallowing and talking unbelievably painful so am on a yoghurt and liquid only diet at present. Ho hum. At least will help undo a week of lots of eating over Easter on holiday in the Isle of Wight. Hope everyone else is ok and that ratdogs rampant walking has calmed down Belle.

knottyhair · 13/04/2012 06:50

Hi Dinky! You poor thing, that sounds horrible. Glad you had a good time in the Isle of Wight. Haven't been doing too badly on the food front, but as usual with the Easter holidays, we've had lots of nice days out so my diet has been a bit different. Have been to Borough Market, including brunch in Roast, a trip to the cinema involving ice cream, a walk in bluebell woods at a National Trust place with tea & cake in the tea rooms etc. All very nice, but am looking forward to getting back to normal next week. Have managed Jillian most days, or I had been until Tuesday, now nothing since then due to DS's social calendar! Friends arriving today to stay until Sat pm, so I'm hoping to get back to the exercise on Sunday morning after fish and chips tonight. Hope everyone is OK xx

OP posts:
knottyhair · 17/04/2012 13:43
