Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

fucking TOTP.

MickeyMixer · 12/01/2011 22:34

Hi GandTiceandaslice
Thanks for your message - really need some support as your starting weight is my target weight!! I haven't been 10 stone anything since I was 13 years old. Best of luck with it all - I am finding it a bit daunting Confused

Tonight at SW went OK. New 'Extra Easy' plan sounds like it'll fit in better with the kids than the old green/red plans. Off to study my book now. Then supermarket in the morning.

Anyone else got HELLUVA LOT OF WEIGHT TO LOSE? I could do with some determined SW buddies!??

happynewRia · 12/01/2011 23:08

Me, I have Mickey! Not sure I've ever been 10 stone TBH. We're a friendly bunch on the 5 stone plus thread too.

TOTP G&T?

I find the digestion issue more pressing TBHBlush, what with the water too, last week all I seemed to do was plan meals, prepare meals, chew salad and jacket potato, and go to the loo! But I felt virtuousWink

Melty · 12/01/2011 23:22

MickeyMixer
Helluva lot to lose alright..... 67lbs to go... lost 22 so far.
Most of us have a "journey" to do. I estimate sometime around Christmas I might be near target, provided I behave myself.

G&T TOPT ?? It means Top of The Pops to me! And no, I really dont get constipated. At all!!!Drink loads of fluids and make sure you have plenry of veggies. (I can't afford to get constipated, I did once, around the time of my period and it nearly killed me trying to have a poo. I actually passed out on the loo from the pain. Never again)

Despite my good intentions, havent opened the bloody shred yet. Having awful week at work, completely overwhelmed, having to work clinical shifts as well as do my own work. worked 7-7 today, same tomorrow... Healthy eating suffering as I am too tired to cook. Have had a dozy sleep on sofa and have to crash now otherwise I will never manage to creawl out of bed in the morning.

Oh and Ria, hope your parents are ok.

happynewRia · 13/01/2011 00:42

take care Melty.

In an ideal world New Year is not the time for health regimes! This time of year,- work, home, life etc - is too pants for additional pressure. We must do the best we can to get by until things ease up a bit.

Furball · 13/01/2011 07:12

Well I've joined!

am the hideous weight I thought I would be............focus...focus...focus....meal plan and shop accordingly. blah blah blah

I bought a 6 week countdown - I plan to loose the best part of a stone in that time

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 13/01/2011 07:29

Mickey, I will not be even trying for 10 stone, 11.5 will do me. I have lost 35lbs and have 65lbs to go. Like Melty, I'm thinking Christmas time hopefully should do it.

Furball, you've started which is a huge step forward. This time next week you'll be a good few pounds lighter.

Melty, sorry you've got such a heavy workload. Is this a combination of people being sick and the cuts ?

G&T, I got a bit constipated at the beginning but it settled down pretty quickly.

Lulu, well done on the fish. Wish I liked it more, my token effort is smoked salmon.

Ria, hope your parents are OK.

Kungfu, I face the scales of doom today. Haven't eaten all my weeklies, a fair few though, will see how it goes. Am going swimming with a friend after for a swim to try and get a good few activity points for the new week.

GandTiceandaslice · 13/01/2011 08:06

TOTP=Top Of The Page!

I posted about "that" & then when I closed down the pc, I had to do. FFS!

I'm only 5' 2" hence me needing to be a lighter weight. I'm also very small built.

Good luck to othse starting. When you get into it, it really does work.

happynewRia · 13/01/2011 09:07

FFS, am feeling ill again Sad, have had enough now.

MickeyMixer · 13/01/2011 10:12

Just sitting down to read my food optimising book and write a shopping list! Just gotta stay focussed. WynkenBlynkenandNod, GandT, Melty, Furball et al. its nice to know that others have this difficult journey ahead too. Thanks for being so friendly Smile.

Furball · 13/01/2011 11:09

having an early lunch Hmm

tin of mushy peas (stick reading this it's good!)with a dollop of pataks curry paste in you could add other stuff like cauliflower, chickpeas etc but I couldn't be bothered didn't

served on either jacket or rice - all for the measley sum of 1 point - Bargain[kerching!]

Furball · 13/01/2011 11:11

....on green obviously

happynewRia · 13/01/2011 11:43

does that really taste nicer than it sounds furball? or is it like the "smash pizza"?

can't face anything yet. am hoping DS3 has worn himself out talking to the gas engineer for the last hour and a half and will nap quite soon.

Furball · 13/01/2011 11:47

tis good stuff - honest!

Like I said also add cauliflower, lentils, chickpeas, potato etc etc.

MummyCherry · 13/01/2011 13:30

I was thinking more along the sweet track as far as snacks are concerned.

happynewRia · 13/01/2011 13:52

frozen curly wurlys? I thing matchmakers are low syn, and 2 finger kit kats...

MickeyMixer · 13/01/2011 14:13

Yuk Yuk Yuk Sad

I have just made some SW coleslaw from the most recent magazine and it is, as my DD would say, 'totally scusty' (disgusting)!! I have added grated apple and some canderel to try and make it edible but its still not great. So bitter and strong. Pass the hot buttered toast instead!
For tea I'm going to do SW chips (never tried before) and rump steak (1/2 price at Morrison's today) with grilled tomatoes and peas.

The coleslaw was to go with the steak ... but ... shall I boil it up in some stock and make veg soup with it instead?
Sorry to hear about your parents happynewRia. Hope everything works out OK.
Anyone got a GOOD recipe for SW coleslaw for another time?

Furball · 13/01/2011 14:22

Personally I would make coleslaw

grated carrot
white cabbage
onion
Cheese (1oz free if 2nd he 1)(not on Extra Easy plan, but worth sticking to gree or red days just for the cheese Smile )

I would then use a dollop (spoonful or so depending on how much you need to lightly coat) of very low fat mayo

and hey presto - very low syn (only very low fat mayo) coleslaw that is infact quite yummy

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 13/01/2011 16:27

I do coleslaw with cabbage, onion and carrot, a good few dollops of natural yoghurt with 2 tbsp extra light Mayo .

WI today, delighed to have lost 1.5lbs and it is my gain/sts week . Went swimming with SW friend straight after then passed up lunch in starbucks and back to her house for soup, cottage cheese and salad.

Unicornlover · 13/01/2011 17:22

Hi can I join? been on SW for a week. WI this am I lost 5.5 lbs. I have about 8 st to lose in total

mrswoodentop · 13/01/2011 17:29

Been to Weigh in this morning and lost 3 pounds!really chuffed because apart from the weekend when I did find it difficult not to eat the same as the rest of the family (think male cake eaters!)I didn't find it too hard .

Then to top it off there was a free draw and a 6 countdown was the prize and I won, can't believe it I never win anything,so can't let them down now!

happynewRia · 13/01/2011 17:30

I made SW coleslaw from a mag recipe - white cabbage, carrot and red onion, with fat free fromage frais and a bit of very low fat mayo and lots of black pepper. It said 1/2 syn for a serving in the mag, and it was nice.

Just back from waiting to see a doctor at the GP - just after DH went back to work DS3 tripped over our doorstep and landed mouth-down on the UPCV doorstep. Sad Poor lamb had to wait until we'd got DS2 from school before we went to the surgery, and he fell asleep while we were waiting. He is very swollen. Poor baby. Doctor said they won't stitch the inside of mouths and he will swell up more, but it should heal easily.

happynewRia · 13/01/2011 17:32

yay mrswoodentop, that's fab.

mrswoodentop · 13/01/2011 18:15

Oh Ria,your poor ds3,one of my boys specialised in this kind of accident and all I can say is it looks awful but does heal quite quickly .Sucking an ice lolly or ice cubes helps

Hope he feels better soon
