Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

I'm being cheeky and not actually going to SW classes, just bought the books off Ebay. So bit confused about syns.

The books say I can have 5-15 syns each day, but is this right? Feels like I'm eating loads!

DreamingOfABump · 08/03/2011 17:30

Have decided im going to start sw on thurs, have put on nearly a stone recently which has pushed my bmi up to 31! Shock really want to get that extra stone off before we try to conceive in june. I feel really uncomfortable and cant imagine how much worse i would feel if this is my pre pregnancy weight, plus baby weight. Have done sw before but not really taken it seriously, so think i will buy a 12 week countdown. wish me luck!

JobCarHouseNoBaby · 08/03/2011 18:23

Good luck Dreaming!

I am very impressed. Lost 0.5lb in week 1 (but had a big weekend of eating out and birthday cake). Tonight's weigh reveals I've lost 3.5lb this week! So a total of 4lb gone in a fortnight.

I'm very happy, SW seems to be doing the trick. Let's see if I can keep it going to lose maybe 1st by end of April...

Hope everyone else is doing ok this week :)

Ceolas · 14/03/2011 16:02

Thinking of joining SW and trying to work out how our normal repertoire of family meals would fit in. We have home made pizza about once a fortnight. Is pizza a complete no-no?

I have DDs aged 11 and 9 and don't want to advertise being "on a diet" so would rather we all ate the same meals if possible.

Lulumama · 15/03/2011 11:25

hi all !not been around for a while... not been so well, but feeling a bit better now.. hope everyone is going ok.

weigh in last night, 3 lbs off, so I am really pleased, esp. as the meds I am on are making me feel sick/nauseous a lot of the time, so I am not eating or only wanting toast/carbs etc. but trying to eat veg aswell and eggs if I fancy, so am happy that weight coming off after a bit of a plateau.

hope everyone else is doing ok !

thanks ! i'd like to lose another stone and then reassess.... am 3 dress sizes smaller so really pleased ..

have a wee bit of choccy, treat today as a flexi syns day, a flake or crunchie is 8 - 9 syns, not the end of the world in the grand scheme of things.. better than feeling upset and hormonal !

LilMissTrippy · 07/04/2011 15:54

Hello I am a newbie to Mumsnet!

I lost 1.5 stone over a year ago SLOWLY by doing WW at home by myself then sort of maintained for a while but never reached my goal. I joined SW about 10 weeks ago and have lost 9lbs so far am loving it ... I feel more healthier, less headaches, less hunger then what I was feeling on WW and the weight is coming off quicker!

I have completely and utterly fallen in love with Couscous and Mullerlight yoghurt's! AND I still have my Friday night curry takeaway ... I had weigh in today and was hoping for a loss of 2 pounds but only managed 1 as I was a bit naughty during the week in eating cake which is my BIGGEST downfall.

I was wondering if I could join you guys in this thread :)

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 20:02

is anyone still lurking on this thread?

mrskbpw · 04/08/2011 14:14

Hello! I have been doing SW for a few weeks and am finding it a bit tricky. I lost 3st with WW last year post baby but can't get on with the new propoints whatnot so I decided to try SW. I think I'm getting the hang of it now - almost - but it is quite a different approach. I'm never hungry though, so that's good.

Wondered if anyone has good ideas for lunches to take to work? I'm eating a lot of those pasta and sauce packets, but I'm not a massive fan of processed food. Am lost about what else to try though. I'm veggie.

IreadthereforeIam · 07/08/2011 10:09

How about making a huge batch of pasta sauce and freezing individual portions. Then you can defrost enough for your lunch each day and cook a portion of pasta (it's what I do - and I leave the pasta n' sauce things for when I've forgotten to cook!!). Or a large salad? Leafy, or pasta or couscous? Depending on how you use your healthy B's, you could always take a sandwich?

I'm back on SW after putting about a stone on (I'd originally lost 5 stone). I'd been keeping the weight off by running, but I've had an injury that meant I haven't been out running for 6 weeks (and 2 weeks in Devon/ Dorset +cream teas + pasties + copious amounts of wine hasn't helped!!). I'm back out on the road tomorrow, but I need to get a grip on what I eat!! I can't afford to join SW again though, so I have all the books, I know what I need to do, and I'm hoping I can get a bit of support on here (if anyone's on here!!). So I'll be back!!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 07/08/2011 21:48

Riasdragonflytattoo · 15/08/2011 16:35

hereSmile

etodd81 · 26/08/2011 13:43

Hiya, can I join please? Started SW yesterday, weighed in at 14st 11 at 5 foot 8. Nightmare. I actually weigh more than my husband, grim times! I found it quite daunting as I've never done anything like a slimming club or anything before. Have a 2 yr old and a 1 yr old, and have put 2 stone plus on over the 2 pregnancies. Also, my body has just CHANGED since having kids. I was never thin before, size 14, but not flabby really, now it's a different story. Stomach is the worst, rolls upon rolls!! Sorry, TMI prob. I'm doing extra easy plan and so far so good. It's taking time to plan what I'm gonna eat as I'm still getting used to it- I'm assuming it'll become easier? Does anyone have any hints or tips about what they did in the first few weeks that worked for them? Also, a syn related question- I'm going out on Sat night for my 30th, and really wanna drink lots of wine! Can I save my syns and use them all in one go?
