Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

Hi everyone, we've had the lurgy here - DS1 had temp/ear infection and the rest of us got colds/sniffles culminating with me succumbing last night. Its only really an achy cold and tickly cough but dreading the sainsburys turkey run in the morning. Went to M&S today to get some foodie bits and it was absolute bedlam. Have to confess to eating the remainder of the toblerone over about 5 days. Naturally not going to WI tomorrow! Xmas Blush

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 22/12/2010 22:54

Hope poorly DSs are on the mend.

survived town, my parents couldn't come as they had to wait in for a plumber (to fix something that was explained on the news tonight, so if DF had seen that first he could have fixed it himself without a call-out fee), so DH dropped us at the park and ride car park and we got a bus into town. DS3 went in his pushchair today, first time in ages. Didn't get everything I wanted, hopefully I can fill a couple of gaps at the supermarket tomorrow, and DS1 and 2 will have to get new dressing gowns and PJs etc in the sales after xmas, they have plenty to unwrap as it is, (I think, but it doesn't feel quite like it just now), so frustrating when you go to town and they just don't have what you want. Do any of you have 13/14 year old DSs? If so, where do you buy their clothes? Everywhere seems to stop at 12/13, then onto mens small.

really not looking forward to supermarket tomorrow, we're eating at my mums on christmas day, but still need food for the week. hope we can get there, snow forecast for tomorrow, and an inch fell without us knowing while we were visiting my mum this evening.

I need new scales! my "new" ones were crap and gave me 2 extra stoneXmas Hmm and my faithful old ones seem to have fallen apart in the bathroom cupboard.

whatkungfuthat · 23/12/2010 06:26

Wynken, my DS1 is 12 and wears mens small, but he is a giant. He can fit in short mens jeans etc without hemming. Next go up to age 16 online so we get stuff there too. Talking of Next, I have a cats bum face as the coat I have been stalking was reduced in the 'vip' sale, but when I got to my slot it had gone. Its still available on the usual site at full price but I refuse to pay it now I've seen what they reduced it too Xmas Angry

With scales I have found the wii is very similar to the my WI weight, although not on carpet. I'm off to do the last shop soon and dreading it, the list is mainly cold remedies and the turkey!

upsydaisysexstylist · 23/12/2010 08:48

Hello agsin Ladies, fell off the thread because apparently our internet doesn't work in the snow very well. Hope you are all doing well, sorry to hear about all the bugs going around.

My leader reckons maintaining is a result this time in december, so was very pleased to have lost a 1lb on Tues am steeling myself for the weigh in on the 28th though.

Have now lost 2st 11lb since the end of August and am very pleased with myself. Fit in several 16's in Dorothy Perkins as well. Though the Mad Man style shift dress turned out to be more Dinah Doors, could have fed DS2 by leaning forward and jiggling.Shame as 20 quid in the sale, but would only have felt confident wearing in front of DP and with 2 under 3 my extracurricular activites don't extend to complicated role play

whatkungfuthat · 23/12/2010 09:53

Xmas Grin at complicated role play!

Di Dors, there's a role model for the well-upholstered! She keeps cropping up on the telly atm on itv shows like the Sweeney, forgot how glam she was in a cleaveagey kind of way!

upsydaisysexstylist · 23/12/2010 10:32

Hmm, Have to accept that however much I like the idea of rocking the vintage look, it requires more grooming than I have ever done in my whole life, would have to buy foundation. Sighs longingly at vintage knitting book and accepts unlikely ever to have a 36 inch bust and is grateful it is at least decreasing

Melty · 23/12/2010 11:59

The last few days have been rubbish.
Spent some time at Gatwick, got through departures and then Dublin got snowed in.
So cancelled. Couldnt re-book as no seats until after Christmas.
So am now on the ferry tonight at 02.40 Shock
Train from Euston at 5.10.

Arrive Dublin at 6am tomorrow.
So yesterday went to lunch in Pizza express and did not have the healthy option. (Was nice though!)
And had a Macdonalds for tea. Did not enjoy one bit. Followed by a nice M&S profiterole dessert.
So tooooo many syns to count.
However, only ate at mealtimes, so sould have been a lot worse.
Will have sandwiches on the way home, and once home will be able to eat properly again.
(Well, am fully able to eat properly now, but am ignoring the eat properly voices....Blush
Hopw all the poorly people are feeling better.
Upsydaisy Grin at feeding your DS by jigglilng.

whatkungfuthat · 23/12/2010 12:01

I hear that upsy, I would dearly love to look like the type of woman you get on the front of Bizarre mag (with more clothes) but fear I come across more as 'fat old goth'.

whatkungfuthat · 23/12/2010 12:07

Hi Melty, sorry x-posts! Good luck with the travel arrangements, hope you get home in time. You'll have burned all those syns off with the stress of the last few days Grin

I've started the xmas baking frenzy and currently have the following cooling off - Nigella recipe rocky road and choc salty crunchie bars, and the mumsnet brownies. All this was knocked up when I should have been at WI Xmas Blush

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 23/12/2010 14:54

Hi everyone. Melty, so sorry about the nightmare you've been having, fingers crossed here for a safe and uneventful journey for you later.

Upsy, that in an amazing loss in not even 4 months, hugely well done. Did chuckle at your feeding method! My Dad met Diana Dors in a bar once, he still chucks that into conversation occasionally 50 years later.

Ria, hope you survive the supermarket today. You definitely need scales, 2 stone more, the cheek of it!

Kungfu, that sounds delicious, don't eat them all, am on my way!

Made it to WI today and lost a pound so really pleased with that. DH is getting Kinect for Christmas do hoping exercise will counteract some of the calories. It's do icy here I'm not brave enough to walk the dog so DD has been trying to teach her to jump a broom balanced on coffee tables as she's now old enough to do some agility.

Something lovely happened today. My Mum fell out with her sister about 10 years ago after their other sister died. She had good reason to and was in Germany with her to see my Aunt and Uncle's behaviour so completely understand why. All my contact with my cousins was through Mum so I became estranged by proxy. Recently found my cousin's address (she's german) and sent her a card with pictures of the DC's, she didn't know about DS. Had an email from her this morning and she is really pleased to be back in touch and we will meet up when we go over next summer. Wasn't sure about telling Mum but didn't want to go behind her back so told her and she is much better about it than I thougt she would be.

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 23/12/2010 23:40

Xmas Smile wynken, that is lovely. My Dad is estranged from his sister, with no hope of a reconciliation (but she doesn't deserve one TBH), but they get a card from her DS and his family since my cousin remarried.

hope you get home OK Melty. Dublin at christmas sounds idyllic.

survived the supermarket, my lovely Dad drove me there and looked after DS3 while I shopped (as DH had to work)

no christmas baking here, I have bought all we need.Xmas Blush

well done on festive lossesXmas Envy

I am getting the SW magazine in my stockingXmas Hmm. DS1 has said he doesn't want to shop with me at christmas any more as it spoils the magic.

whatkungfuthat · 26/12/2010 12:41

Happy christmas everyone, I am drowning in a sea of chocolate and planning on hiding all unopened ones to give as gifts in the NY (according to sell by date) Xmas Grin

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 26/12/2010 12:46

Happy Christmas ! I was really good until yesterday when I ate shedloads. I did track it all though so know exactly where I am at. Not much appetite today after the huge quantities of food I ate and think my body has not enjoyed the over indulgence at all.

Father Christmas bought DH Kinnect so was trying to dance of some of the Christmas pudding yesterday.

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 26/12/2010 17:29

happy christmas!

Blimey, I ate SO much yesterday. But it was SO delicious (and Mum said it's the last year she's cooking) We have shedloads of choccies and biscuits too (my uncle bought us a family gift of a tin of biscuits and a tin of chocolates). Am having a relaxed week with a little of what I fancy, then cracking open the SW mag on the 3rd, when hopefully the "worst" of the bad stuff will have goneXmas Hmm, am saving the matchmakers to have as syns (they are low syn I think?)

went for a healthy walk on the beach today, and DS3 fell into a sub-zero rock pool right up to over his waist! Luckily he is OK.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 27/12/2010 07:48

Your poor DS Ria, that must have been horrible . Our leader collects on all the unwanted chocolate etc and gives it to the local homeless charity. Not that there is any chocolate here.

Had another go on Kinnect yesterday and can see the wii rapidly gathering dust, though will plug it in this morning and weigh to see what Christmas Day did. I was really full yesterday and felt quite unwell. Ate 2 sausages, an egg, mushrooms, tomato and melon for breakfast. Then a little bit of turkey and red cabbage for lunch followed by 4 laughing Cow xl, pineapple and yoghurt for tea which is the smallest amount I've eaten on Boxing Day for many years. Hate how overeating makes you feel so rubbish, which makes me that I've turned a corner .

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 27/12/2010 09:17

Just weighed on wii fit and I have lost a pound. Fingers crossed that will show on Thursday at WI. I'm really pleased I did swap to WW before Christmas as it has given me the flexibility that I felt I didn't get with SW and as got me through Christmas. If the SW scales show a pound loss at Thursday WI, that will be a 6lb loss for December and needless to say I will be extremely happy with that!

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 27/12/2010 11:35

well one wynken. I have to agree, it's npot often I don't feel like eating anything! yesterday we had a fry-up brunch, and I had a small ham sandwich in the evening. I was SO tired and sluggish again, didn't even want to watch TV with DH and have a glass of wine, then I ended staying up on my own til 2am, reading and had pitta and houmous. This christmas thing messes with my head!

can I ask about the Wii fit? (the boys have money from Grandma, and the board works with wii sport resort and stuff doesn't it?) if you weigh on it, is your weight only visible to you, or can anyone see it?

christmas lunch leftovers todaySmile and a very light lunch as just made pancakes with banana and maple syrup. (I am well aware I am comfort eatingXmas Blush DH has gone back to work and I'm not fond of Bank HolidaysXmas Sad)

DS3 shows no trauma from yesterday, just very wet wellies, so we won't be leaving the house! He slept in til after 10 though.

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 27/12/2010 11:36

well done even Xmas Blush

whatkungfuthat · 27/12/2010 13:07

Shock at your poor DS Ria, hope he has got over it!

Well done Wynken! Envy

On the Wii fit there is an option to have your profile password protected so that no one else can see your stats. Also, when you weigh yourself if shows your BMI and then says whether there has been any loss/gain and how much, you only see the actual total weight if you click on it. I would be lost without mine tbh, and I know I wouldn't have lost the amount of weight I have without it.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 27/12/2010 13:33

My profile is most definitely protected and I send the DC's out of the room for good measure whilst on the wii!

Have to say though, Kinect does give you a better work out than the wii I have found.

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 27/12/2010 15:47

thank you. now we just have to find a good deal in the sales. £75 in Tesco.

DS3 is sleeping, possibly delayed shock, more than likely post-christmas-excitement exhaustion, which I seem to haveXmas Sad

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 28/12/2010 09:11

I have running round after animals exhaustion. A touch manic as cat who left home when dog arrived to live with neighbour is back. There are all kinds of complicated arrangements going on to give them all space and new dynamics happening and kitten is mad as kittens are.

No Kinect exercise yesterday but shovelled snow and ice for a good 20 mins and walked the dog, well ice skated the dog. Have been sorting out clothes and have pile for air ambulance bin. Have worked out that will hit size 16 round March or April time then will have bugger all to wear. Then next Christmas I will hopefully be at target which I think will be size 12bottoms, 14 on top. Last time I was thin I was 20 and a size 8, so being 42 and a 12/14 is going to take some thinking about clothes .

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 28/12/2010 11:16

my plan is for my brand new Matalan size 22 jeans (have been size 24 for 3+ yeasr) that I wore on christmas day (lovely fit rund bum and legs, stomach not so sure where it belongs) to be too big!

DH at home today, and it's raining.

upsydaisysexstylist · 29/12/2010 07:42

Sigh, went to WI last night combination of sitting on my bum, looking after fluey DP and eating nearly all the salted caramel trifle have manged to gain 4lbs. So gonna pick myself up dust myself down and start all over again.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 29/12/2010 07:52

They will be too big Ria. This time next year they will be a distant memory, you won't be able to wear them as they will fall down round your ankles !

Upsy, you've done the hard bit now, getting back to WI which means you can firmly draw a line and move forwards. You still have a fantastic weight loss for 2010, is it 2.5 stone? And it hasn't taken you long at all. Apologies if I my figures wrong but if I'm right, you are starting 2011, no longer lugging the equivalent of a toddler around with you anymore.
