Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

Wahey Kungfu, absolute result, well done ! How many pounds are you up to now ? I take it you are sticking with WW as it's going so well ! You made me splutter tea over my keyboard with your remark about the £90 ! Kitten is making the whole week with ill children hugely better.

Lulumaam, jacket spud fillings sound nice. Mr Tesco has just delivered a big bag of potatoes so am having one for lunch.

I sneaked out quickly this morning for WI whilst DH sat with DC's. Glad I went, I have lost half a pound. Which doesn't sound like much but usually this week of the month is a sts or gain so I am absolutely delighted.

whatkungfuthat · 16/12/2010 12:31

Well done on the loss Wynken and DCMB, and hello to the new ladies. Ria hope your shopping gets sorted.

Wynken, the loss at WW is 11 pounds in total (plus the 3 stone at SW), not sure how many weeks but I started the week PP was launched. Sounds like you are doing great with PP, especially considering an unexpected loss on 'that' week. I think the free step is really helping as 30 mins burns 160 - 170 cals and I do it in front of the tv. Would like to lose another 3 pounds before xmas to make a stone, but not likely as we are out for dinner on saturday and the exercise will go out of the window once the DS's break up from school.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 16/12/2010 12:46

Wow Kungfu, that is nearly 4 stone, absolutely brilliant. I keep forgetting about freestep, I should do that really instead of watching things on my ample backside!

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 16/12/2010 15:08

well done on the lossesXmas Smile

pissed off with DH today so I took DS3 to nursery in the car and DS2 and I hit Morrisons before DH went to work. My parents have offered to take me to town too, so I'm sure it will be OK (though it will be wrapping at 3am on Cristmas morning as usual bo doubt). We have a tree and decorations though, so that's a start.

hopped on the scales briefly this morning. (I am back to my trusty old set after the "new" ones I was given had me at 2 stone heavier than I was at my heaviestShock). through my itchy watery eyes it looked like a slight downward movement from last Thursday. maybe 4lb or so (not certain), think there's a bit of star week in there too.

goal for this week is coping and not opening the huge tub of quality street that are still in the cupboard unopened Xmas Shock, it could be 3 weeks since my friend gave me them!!! have frozen pizza for tonight though, and a curry meal for SaturdayBlush, though if the boys are a bit perkier tomorrow I will do a healthy roast chicken. We all need to get better I think, and feel like eating.

love your hair dita. I would love to try that colour, but my face is prone to going a similar colour that would clashXmas Hmm.

DontCallMeBaby · 16/12/2010 19:15

Dita, great hair! It's reminded me I really want to dye mine before we go away, it's freshly cut and I don't really like it, but if I can have it at its proper colour I'll be happier.

Our little cats are going to the cattery tomorrow - I feel really guilty. Repeat after me - cats do not know it's Christmas, cats will not dislike cattery any more than they did in August (which unfortunately is quite a bit, but they'll live).

kid · 16/12/2010 21:52

its hard getting pets looked after while you are away, costs a bloody fortune too!
My puppy will be looked after at a pet sitters house. It will cost me in the region of £350 for 2 weeks but the thought of him being kept in a kennel would make me not want to go on holiday!

A slightly better day today, not fantastic but an improvement on every other day this week Grin
Not been near the scales yet though and I intend to keep it that way for now.

Well done on the losses ladies, you have cracked SW and need to share your food secret!

DontCallMeBaby · 17/12/2010 08:01

Yeah, £11 a day, double for Christmas day and Boxing day, and we're not even taking them up on the 'free' food this time as one has had a dodgy tummy so we're going to send their normal stuff. With cats, I kind of like the cattery idea, given that someone coming in to feed them could end up not seeing them for days on end, and not actually knowing if they're okay. but I think we'll go for that in future anyway. A neighbour offered to look after them, but for eleven days over Christmas, and given that she's a bit of a party chick (despite being in her 40s with two young kids Grin) I don't think I'd feel comfortable. Next time I'll ask at the vet if they have recommendations - we discovered on Hallowe'en night that one of their nurses lives just round the corner, so it's possible she might moonlight a bit! Anyway, cats are now locked in, in preparation for setting off to the cattery (a trauma in itself, as they cry in the car). Woe!

Kid, my colleague has TWO springer pups - about six months old IIRC. Their latest antic is eating the kitchen ... they sound like loads of trouble and loads of fun.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 17/12/2010 13:44

Cats, though sulky, will be safe and fine in cattery Dontcallme and you can have a brilliant holiday.

Kid, Plog wouldn't cope in kennels. She goes to a lady who really likes her despite the fact she ate her cat flap last time! Hang in there with the food, it will all get easier in a few weeks.

Ria, well done, sounds like there is a loss going on there and well done on not eating all the chocolate.

Am waiting for doctor to ring as last day of antibiotics for DS and he still has a temperature. DD improving and was hoping to go back today but hasn't made it. I am popping vit c and manuka honey drops in the hope I don't get it.

kid · 17/12/2010 19:28

My Springer is eating my kitchen too, well the skirting boards anyway.

I have had a good day foodwise today. I am so ill I can't eat! I only have a cold but omg, I feel like I'm dying!
At least I finished work today so now have 2 weeks off to recovery. Its not fair though, why should I be ill during my time? Grin

ditavonteesed · 18/12/2010 07:48

cats will be fine in cattery, mine actually seem to quite like it, now a neighbour pops in but thats because we have the chooks to sort out anyway. poup goes to a friends house and the adoration is very m,utual.
dcmb enjoy yourself Grin
ria well done on loss.
I have lost it, it is like I am on a mission to put on as much weight as I can, yesterday I wrapped all the xmas pressies and ate xmas cake, mince pie and several bags of crisps. dh went out to his office party l;ast n ight and I had a hard job stopping myself openbing the cheese and biscuits. must regain some control also got that really bloated uncomfortable stomach that I get when i dont eat proparly.

Lulumaam · 18/12/2010 08:08

hi everyone ! hope you;re all ok ! we have a lot of snow here, which is unusual, we tend to escape most of it ! DH had start walking to work, luckily a neighbour was just leaving in his 4x4 so gave him a lift! he'll have to walk home though ! the kids are hysterical with excitement.. they were up and dressed by 7am !

all went a bit to pot yesterday, was fine til lunchtime, then had promised to take the children to subway as they fnished shcool early, i usually have a salad, no dressing, but i had a small sub and nachos Blush

then some more doritos at home and a smoked salmon sandwich for dinner and a glass of wine ! eeeeeeeeeeeek!

so today, am back on plan.. we were supposed to have friends round for dinner, but i don't think they'll be able to get to us and we were having the food made by a friend of Dhs who 's a chef, but i don't thikn we'll be able to get to the food either !

I am just so glad I got an online shop delivered lsat night, so got loads of bread, fruit, dog food and milk and other essentials so even if we can't get out for a few days, we can eat and we've had a load of coal and logs delivered , so we'll be warm

hope everoyne is ok and not suffering too much with the weather

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 18/12/2010 11:52

Morning all ! Am also very pleased my Internet shop came yesterday or we'd br up the creek. Bad night with DS. I heard a noise on the monitor (he sleeps downstairs so still has a monitor). Think it was his drink on his wooden stool. Went down and he was burning up and had nothing left in his drink. He said he had been waiting for ages for some water. I felt really bad and thought I'd not heard him but he said he hadn't called as he didn't want to wake us, he was then sick. Got him water, calpol, propped his pillows higher and put a cooler duvet on and he did fall asleep again. I then couldn't sleep as was worried I wouldn't hear him so stayed awake till 6am when DH took over. He's been sick again this morning but think it's the mucous on his chest coming up. He's had two doses now of new antibiotic and am hoping that by tomorrow they will be kicking in. If not better next week the doctor wants him back and I think he'll need a chest xray. Have a friend with a 4x4 if it comes to it. Sorry, am going on a bit but am really worried about him.

All going well on food front. Am going to make pizza tonight minus the cheese for tea. Am not getting the chance to do any exercise though at the moment as DS permantly on sofa so wii is out of action.

whatkungfuthat · 18/12/2010 12:43

Oh Wynken your poor DS, hope he gets better soon, good that the mucus is coming up though.

I lost it last night and ate 3 big squares of toblerone, the hugest bar, but it was the Mentalists fault! I was watching that and got carried away, Simon Baker is so yummy! Off for a curry tonight, its only up the road so staggering distance but the guys that run it come from Luton (about 15 miles north) so they may not be able to open.

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 18/12/2010 16:44

hope your DS is better soon wynken. is Simon Baker Patrick Jane? He reminds me of Sean Pertwee, which, of course, is a good thingWink

We haven't got any snow worthy of commentXmas Grin

Had a quick whizz round town while DH was on his lunchtime shift, and got gifts for niece and nephew, and PILs (which I had decided I wasn't getting til the post-xmas sales as we aren't visiting them until the 29th) and a couple of stocking fillers.

Have crispy chicken, chips and coleslaw for tea, and got Ben and Jerrys for the boys, as I am feeling miserable. DH is out at his work party (OK, so he is cooking it) and he is staying over at work in one of the rooms, so I am on my own til tomorrow eveningXmas Sad Am going to scrub the bathroom ceiling and tiles (I seem to have inherited Miss Havishams cobwebs) and then drink a vast amount of pink fizz, and hopefully watch Strictly on replay.

kid · 18/12/2010 18:36

I made DH and DS some pasta and meatballs, I had a bottle of water instead.
I have managed to eat a Lindor chocolate though Grin

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 19/12/2010 08:20

Kid, pasta and meatballs are free if you use extra lean mince, the great thing about sw is you never need to be hungry.

Ria, I'm watching the Strictly results show later. Was expecting better things from the show dances really.

Kungfu, hope you got your curry!

DS slept through the night, hasn't been sick and his temperature is lower so I hope he has turned a corner again. He had seemed on the mend earlier last week so I was a bit shocked at how much he went downhill.

Had my gallbladder friendly, cheese free pizza last night and it was delicious .

kid · 19/12/2010 09:10

Glad to hear your ds appears to be on the mend. Hope he continues to improve and quickly. It's no fun being ill, especially over Christmas.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 19/12/2010 09:35

Thank you Kid. Haven't seen him so ill. All he would say is 'I don't know' for three days.

Have you got any nice food planned for today? I'm having roast dinner which will hopefully warm us up and might do a big pan of warming soup. And I'm having meringue, total yoghurt and fruit for pudding and a Wispa this evening.

kid · 19/12/2010 10:49

I haven't planned anything really. I've got a whole chicken to chuck in the slow cooker in a minute. I'll sort out some veg to go with it.

I am so ill right now and there is no-one to look after me Sad dh has gone to work and I have to go and get his present as I've reserved the last one at the shop. I am as pale as all the snow outside and am not looking forward to going out in it. At least the shop is only a 20 minute walk away so I shouldn't be out for too long.
I have to walk the dog first, that should be fun as he pulls really hard on the lead and I have no energy.
I can't remember my last meal, think it was a sandwich at Friday lunchtime.
I need to get some tablets, I'm eating them like they are going out of business! Well I am taking the maximum I'm allowed each day.
I hate being ill, I'm such a big baby lol

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 19/12/2010 12:24

Oh Kid, what a nightmare, I am sorry Sad. could you get the shop to hold the present for another day or two so you don't need to go? Can DS play Tuggy or fetch with Teddy and you do a training session from the sofa. Minimu says that 10 mins training is the equivalent of an hours walk.

I do the chicken in the slow cooker then the dog gets the jelly out of the bottom. What about shoving some jacket spuds in the microwave and for veg, have you any frozen ones you can stick on for a few mins? Or stick the spuds on the oven then add some tomatoes and mushrooms and onion if you can face chopping one? Do hope you feel better very soon.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 20/12/2010 18:08

Oy, get your heads out of that chocolate box and get your backsides here!

Any WI's tonight or has the weather put paid to that?

Melty · 21/12/2010 04:36

Have been on tenterhooks, wondering whether or not I get to go home to Ireland for Christmas, so yes Wynken, there have been Minstrels....
Oops.
Haven't been near the scales, but clothes still feel the same. Trying to eat healthily inbetween.
Hope all you sickly folk feel better. So the wrong time of year to be ill, with all the knee deep snow everywhere.

Hoping to fly out of Gatwick later today,if both Gatwick and Dublin manage to stay open despite snowfall so Merry Christmas everyone.
Hope not to see you later. Xmas Smile

OP posts:
WynkenBlynkenandNod · 21/12/2010 07:58

Melty, you are officially free of minstrel guilt, ruled as combination of seasonal extreme circumstances

If anyone else has anything to declare, seasonal extreme circumstances covers pretty much anything apart from maybe an entire Xmas pud and litre of cream.

Have my fingers firmly crossed your flight happens and you get home to spend Christmas with your family and to show off your new figure.

Really hope that thread is quiet as you are enjoying yourselves and not in bed with the flu.

Am going slightly stir crazy here but DS definitely on the mend with the second antibiotics though still hacking away. Thank goodness it wasn't this year we were going to Thailand to see my brother.

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 21/12/2010 22:56

no seasonal excesses here, have hardly eaten for 3 days. DS3 is ill now, poor lamb. We had to cancel our winter solstice party because of mine and DS3s poorliness Sad. DS1 had 3 friends over for dinner, so I have lots of healthy chilli to freeze for after the "big meal"!

hope you manages to get home Melty. I would love to visit Ireland one day. Have a fondness for rolling hills and pints of black stuff! which area ((if you don't mind me asking).

Have to brave town tomorrow for the last of the gift shopping, am hoping DS3 is better cos I think my parents might take the biys to Santa's grotto.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 22/12/2010 06:18

Oh no, shame about your party Ria, hope you are all better soon and you survive the Christmas shopping.

Am probably going to get DS to doctors today as he seems to have fainted from what we can tell, he was in the loo. Had Tadka dahl and chapati followed by maple and pecan cheesecake and flipping lovely it was too. Managed a dog walk plus lots of exercise lugging shopping back down the drive as didn't dare try to get car down following hairy experience of getting car stuck trying to get up a hill.
