Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

Wynken, I'd say with 30lbs, he might notice something!
Although am at my brothers house, the one who gave me such a hard time about my weight the last time he saw me, and he hasn't noticed the 19lb loss.
He has noticed my hair, which has gone from shoulder length to chin length bob.
Couldn't wear that style before as my chin was disappearing into my other chins.
Dita, glad you are beginning to improve.
Ria and Lulu, keep it up!
I know what you mean about the mess though.
My brother is coming to stay for a few days to do a course and I am cheap accommodation
And the place looked like a bomb hit it. I was away half the week on that conference, then came back and worked silly hours all week.
I came in at midnight on Thursday and went to bed at 3am after tidying up, and got up at 6 to get a flight home for the weekend.

He will be in my place on Sunday evening and I wont be back until Monday. So I had to do a blitz.

Yesterday not a good day, Chinese take away with brother, chicken burger at lunch.
Am babysitting today and this evening, so did my gordon ramsey pasta dish, which was moorish, filling (and free)and felt like comfort food. Which is a good thing at -1 degrees!
But today has been just fine.
The kids are having a pizza and we are watching xfactor later and I will have the remains of Gordons pasta dish.
No syns as yet today. Probably just as well after yesterday!

Just marking my place as I fell off 'threads I am on' too! Smile

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 13/12/2010 13:03

Hope everyone is recovering from the various vile bugs that are circulating the country. DS had to go to the doctor this morning as his temperature hit 40.6 yesterday, he has a chest infection. My Dad did ask me if my face had 'slimmed down a bit' and his partner said I looked as if I lost weight. I very casually said 'that will be the allotment and dog walking'.

I did manage to stick to my points this week but who knows what this week will bring. My Christmas bottle of Baileys came courtesy of Dad's partner this weekend and is unopened - at the moment !

Good luck for those of you who have WI's today.

Lulumaam · 13/12/2010 16:36

half a pizza last night with x factor and 3 glasses of fizz and chinese the night before ! eeeeeeeek !!

apart from that, not really been too bad at all.

i wish i could regain the way i felt at the start. the dark cold days and gloom is making me want comfort food

i know rationally i'm not hungry, and yet...

anyhoo, i tried some bovril to drink ( it's probably made of hooves and god knows what ) but it's savoury and filling in a way that endless black coffee isnt'

Lulumaam · 13/12/2010 20:26

i lost 1.5 lbs!! So back to where i was the other week. last week i maintained after a 1.5 lb gain the wweek before, so back to where i was. so hopefully another 3 -4 off before xmas, phew ! feel quite relieved as not been quite as strict, but i suppose it shows that the SW plan is quite workable

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 13/12/2010 22:55

well done lulu.

my DS had a temperature yesterday too, church was incredibly uncomfortable with a huge 6 year old trying to get on my knee in the manner of a mssive dog (!) and DS3 also wanting to curl up and sleep on me. I expected DS2 to be off with tonsilitis today, but he had an iffy tummy instead. He has been following me with a clipboard keeping tabs on my jobs list! Am suspecting a chest infection for myself TBH, if not feeling better tomorrow I will have to bite the bullet and go to the doctors. I have 2 school plays and a carol concert tomorrow - will be christmassed out by bedtime!

Have to confess to having a nap when I put the boys to bed, and I had a really weird dream about SW green day foodHmm, am wondering if it's a sign???

DontCallMeBaby · 13/12/2010 23:18

Feels like it's all going wrong here ... let's see what today actually looked like (yikes).

May have had a cereal bar - can't remember.
Small chocolate fairy cake.
Ham sandwich and tomatoes (my packed lunch, couldn't actually be arsed to eat my melon and Muller Light)
Two chocolates out of free Hotel Chocolat box.
Christmas themed Mini Roll.
And another two ...
Dinner of chili (lean beef, lots of onion, peppers and beans), rice ... big heap of cheese, did leave the tortillas to DH and DD though.

Hmm

I think I've gone back to eating through boredom - no, habit rather than boredom, even though I thought I'd got OUT of the habit. I can't believe I'm going to have lost anything this week ... at least I have my last swim of the year to look forward to, and hope to fit a run in before we go away.

On the plus side, I think I've done well not to snack whilst marking exam papers this evening. So depressing ... I feel like starting to drill DD already in legible handwriting and 'answer the #$*@!! question!'

Lulumaam · 14/12/2010 13:41

hmm, dreaming of slimming world can't be a good sign ! poorly children makes you a bit crazy though !

that food diary does not sound too horrendous.. the chees on the chilli not idea, and a bit of choccy, but at this time of year, i think it's fine

there were only 6 people in group last night and i couldn't stay as i had hte children with me... everyone is drifting off before xmas

kid · 14/12/2010 19:59

Hello, I'd like to join if you don't mind!
But, I really need someone to plan my menus (the easier the better!) and if you really don't mind, you can come round and cook the meals for me too?

If thats too much trouble, perhaps I can just join here for some moral support? Grin

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 14/12/2010 22:23

Hello Kid, I can barely do my own cooking and I think you would sack me in no time! Moral support I can hopefully do. Good timing to start now as it means you will do damage limitation over Christmas, ready to really go for it in January.

Well done Lulu, that is great and really good to see how it can be flexible.

Ria, hope everyone is a better this evening, surprised you had the energy to dream with everything going on

Dontcallme, I agree with Lulu, it could be a lot worse. It's like we were saying a month or two ago, the key is to stay in some semblance of control, not to beat yourself up for a few indulgences here and there and to just keep plugging away.

We have a new member of the family. An 11 week old White kitten. I know it is very soon after our other cat but there have been two cats around for the last 22 years of my life and it felt weird just one cat around. So when I heard the local rescue has lots of kittens it could only go one way. He is utterly gorgeous, very affectionate but taking no prisoners with the older cat or dog. The DC's can't believe he is here, first DD knew of him was coming home and finding him literally under the Christmas Tree which is perched on top of the piano in an attempt to keep it away from brown hairy monster dog.

kid · 14/12/2010 22:30

thanks WynkenBlynkenandNod, I'll accept your moral support then!

I don't think its ever too soon to get another pet. My puppy died in May and within a week, I was so desperate to get another one. We ended up waiting until August though due to finding the right litter and our summer holiday but now, it feels like he has always been here!

I've been searching quite a bit online tonight to work out what I can and can't eat. Its so confusing and I'm sure I'll make loads of mistakes but hopefully I'll get the hang of it!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 15/12/2010 04:32

I remember when Moby died Kid Sad. How is Teddy doing? Plog went to her bed for a bit of security last night, she couldn't quite get to grips with that tiny rather determined thing that has invaded the house ! Ask away on anything you're not sure about.

Am eating satsuma as DD has now thrown up and I can hear DS hacking away. It is going to be a very very long day.

kid · 15/12/2010 06:40

Teddy is great, still got some training to do with him but he is such a laid back dog. He is really big already, no idea how big he will actually get!

ditavonteesed · 15/12/2010 07:41

hi kid, I cant cook either so no luck there. gklad tesddy is settling in well, a laid back springer though that cant be right. Wink
I have put 2lbs on, but considering how much i lost when I was ill I think that is about right, problemn is I got into the habit of letting myself eat whatever I fancied as I didnt fancy much, need to break that habit and now. also seem to have snuck back into the daily wine habit. need to maintain till after xmas now and then hammer it in new year when dd2 will be at school Sad but I can take cherry out for miles which she will love. considering starting jogging again and wondered if I could do it with dog or whether she will cause me to break my leg, what do you think?

kid · 15/12/2010 16:09

I know teddy would cause an accident, he would probably try and chase any cyclists or joggers. He assumes everyone wants to play!

My day started well, lunch was fine but then it was xmas class parties and of course I had to test the food.
Dinner is sorted, I think, so I'll have to just behave for the rest of the night

LauraNorder · 15/12/2010 17:38

Hi I joined Slimming World again yesterday. Hoping for a couple of stone weight loss. I'm nearly 40 and want to be well on my way to goal by the time it comes round (Feb 19th). (fsmile)

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 15/12/2010 18:07

Kid, I'm glad Teddy is doing well. Springers are fabulous dogs, twas a springer that inspired us to get Plog and they are the best of friends. Evenings are my worst time so I always make sure I save some syns or points for then.

Dita, as you said with being ill that sound about right. I am quite convinced I would end up in hospital if I went jogging with Plog from a heart attack and broken limbs. I'd love to try and cycle in the woods with her but can see a similar result.

Hi Laura and welcome. I'm sure you can make quite a dent in it by the time your birthday comes around. And joining now will stop that there's no point being good now as I'm joining in January mentality and save you having a good few extra pounds to shift when New Year's day comes around.

I'm unlikely to make SW tomorrow with the DC's being ill but will try and do a Wii weigh in to give me an idea.

ditavonteesed · 15/12/2010 18:33

oh look at my profile and let me know what you think of new hair.
Hi Laura Smile
did an hour on wii fit this afternoon which would be good if I hadnt then eaten 2 pieces of xmas cake, oops. I just cant have nice food in the house and normnally I dont so the next few weeks is going to be a challenge.

Had pasta and bacon for tea which was lovely. went to cupcake shop for lunch with dh and dd2, and I only had a sandwich and no cupcake, and they look so gorgeous as well does that cancel out the xmas cake?

DontCallMeBaby · 15/12/2010 22:50

Thank you for your kind words re my non-diet on Monday. :o My parents fed me shepherd's pie (made with mutton, no less) and Baileys creme brulee. Yum. I got home a bit late for weigh-in, and didn't bother to go due to lateness and being full of food. That's it now until next year, as we're away for the next two Tuesdays - I'm not sure whether I'll go back TBH. But I got on the Wii later and that reckons I've lost 4lb in nine days - admittedly I was wearing my nightie and selected 2lb clothing rather than the usual 3lb, but I am genuinely quite lightly dressed when I go on there, workout gear. So worst case is that I've only lost 2lb ... which still puts me below 11 stone for the first time in a long time.

One more day at work, then away from some of the temptation of cakes and sweeties! A friend bought me a lemon and blueberry muffin today, then the woman at the next desk (not with my team today) offered me a chocolate, and we got to dip into the sweetie bag after our swimming lesson as well, just like the kids! But on the plus side, I've signed up for swimming again next term. After 15 minutes I wanted to grab my cheque and form back and rip them up, but I survived and I KNOW it's doing me good.

RiaInExcelsisDeo · 15/12/2010 23:01

hi kid glad you got a new puppy, welcome lauraSmile

congratualtions on the arrival of the kitten too. I couldn't be without a cat for long. Even though he is bomkers and has swapped DHs wardrobe shelf for the one with the clean sheets on as his choice of bedHmm

to top it all off I now have some kind of hideous cold/man-flu type thing thing going on - Rocky-meets-Rudolph with old-person dripping eyes etc. Not pleasantXmas Sad and would like to cancel christmas (not least because I didn't feel up to shopping today, and given I have had 2 weeks of shopping-preventing snow, and have been doing the groceries at Morrisons so haven't had the useful Tesco-pick-up-stocking-fillers = panicking!!!!)

sorry, very woe-is-me tonight.

kid · 16/12/2010 00:22

RiaInExcelsisDeo try not to panic, it will all work out in the end. You will find the strength to get through it all and buy all the things you need.

I was very unorganised with christmas gifts, but I seem to have caught up quite well.

Well, my intention of starting SW started well today but was out the window by 2pm as we had class parties at work. I had to test the food for the kids, didn't want anyone getting sick or eating too much Grin

I'm still going to cut back on food between now and Christmas. Even if I can just shift a few pounds, I will be able to enjoy lots of food and drink over the festive period.
I do find that when I eat too much junk, I get really bad stomach cramps. Maybe I am becoming allergic to junk food?
Or maybe its because I am eating loads of extra fruit?

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 16/12/2010 07:04

Dita, I'm sure that cancels the Christmas cake ! Love the hair colour.

DCMB, well done that is fabulous, it's then middle of December and you have lost weight. I should follow your lead and get back into the pool, am sure exercise really helps at this time of year and have done grand total of zero this week.

Ria, sorry you are feeling ill. You've had a lot to contend with recently, down here the snow affected things for all of two days. Could you get Texksco to deliver ?

Kid, am sure the parents will be very grateful for your sacrifice yesterday! Fruit could maybe do the cramps, bloats me out if I eat too much so I stick to 2-3 portions a day and can't eat grapes or I know about it.

Have had a whole night's sleep without a puking child which makes a huge difference and kitten has been a very welcome distraction, is utterly adorable and very cuddly. Still can't see me making my meeting this morning and it is hard to get up the enthusiasm when it is my gain/sts week so I think it will be a wii weigh.

whatkungfuthat · 16/12/2010 10:31

Hello everyone, love the hair Dita! Hope everyone is feeling better/not beating themselves up about treats.

Wynken I am full of envy about the kitten. I have tried to get one but I think the CPL round here have done such a sterling job of having all cats neutered that there are literally none. We also have a big problem with rats as the old hospital up the road has been made into v. expensive homes for actor types and the builders got rid of the thousands of feral cats that lived in the grounds. I went to the RSPCA and they wanted 90 quid for a 3 legged one that was about 13!

Cat rant over, had my WI today, lost 3 pounds, which I can't quite believe. Just said to DP that want to lose a lot next week and then not go to WI to give me a margin for xmas, think it confused him!

Lulumaam · 16/12/2010 10:53

hi to lauranorder, glad you found us, and hello to kid, and hello to the lovely regulars !!

hope everyone is ok, and not berating themselves too much for eating xmas goodies Blush

this week,i've been having jacket spuds for lunch, with various fillings as it seems to keep me going until tea time, although i do eat early with the children anyway.

favourite filling currently is chopped up chicken breast , 1 tbspn light salad cream and chopped apple

or tuna and greek yoghurt

Lulumaam · 16/12/2010 10:54

love the hair dita. stunning, really suits you
