Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

just cannot seem to get a handle on it this week

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 26/11/2010 19:23

Lulumaam, you will not have put on half a stone, you really won't have, so don't panic ! I know exactly where you are coming from, we all do.

Are you eating out this weekend ? You can draw a line under what you've eaten and get back on track. You've lost a massive amount of weight so far and this is absolutely not going to undo all that. It's so flipping cold I think it makes people crave more food in an attempt to stay warm and let's face it, whoever went round craving carrots ! Go and try on an old pair of trousers or something and look in the mirror to see how big they are now and see how far you've come.

What I personally think you need to do is sort the rest of the weekend so you have the food you have been craving the most, or a SW version of it. Go for it on the induldgence stakes but in a healthy eating kind of way. Make sure you eat puddings even if you don't etc. You can pull this back, it's just a temporary abberation and you can get back on track.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 26/11/2010 19:26

And also I think you should see if you can roughly syn what you have had and look at it in the context of the whole week, I bet it isn't as bad as it seems or anywhere near as bad as it would have been pre-SW.

My top tip of the day is Pitta Pizzas. I've Propointed it but I'm pretty sure the Co-op's wholemeal pitta is a HEB on SW. Tinned toms reduced, onion, tomato, mushroom, bacon/ham, maybe some cheese from HEA but I didn't bother, lob in oven then add pineapple bits when it comes out. Very nice it is.

Lulumaam · 26/11/2010 19:53

thanks wynken !! just what i needed to hear..

not out this weekend for once ! going to do steak, griddled veg and jacket pots for dinner, so nice and filling.. with SW rice pudding for afters, so nice stodgy comfort food.. and going to make soup too

need to get back in the zone!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 26/11/2010 20:05

Good plan. What about doing a bowl of fruit salad to keep in the fridge with some exotic fruit and maybe meringuenests with raspberries and Total 0% yoghurt or things along those lines.

I think we'll all need to focus on what we've done so far over the next few weeks which I imagine will be tricky. We're all going to fall off the wagon, as long as we don't let it run away without us, we'll be fine Smile

nikki1978 · 26/11/2010 20:11

Well I have had a good first week I think - first weigh in tomorrow.... eek!

The best thing so far is the fact that this is teaching me how to cook (am normally the sort to buy something that you just need to throw in the oven). Tonight I am cooking chicken parmigiana (just two chicken breasts poached then thrown in the oven in a dish with pureed tinned tomatoes, mozzerella and parmesan), SW chips and peas and sweetcorn. Yummy!

I seem to be a lot less hungry too but keep missing meals which is not ideal - it doesn't help that I have had a busy week but I often get to lunch and find that the 1/3 of the plate to be veg is such a hassle so I don't bother Blush. That has only happened twice this week but I need to be more prepared. I am not a huge fan of fruit or salad so need something veg wise that is quick and easy.

Lulumaam · 26/11/2010 20:20

I made aubergine melanzana the other week, was lovely.. had the cheese as HEx and synned some.

I have got total 0% , going to make a quorn lasagne.. can't remembner how i made the white sauce last tiem.. natural yoghurt rings a bell... !

findingtheRialme · 26/11/2010 21:16

nikki, how about steaming a big batch of baby corn, mange tout and carrot batons (i see these as "treat veg") to keep in the fridge and reheat to have with lunch, or a batch of garlic mushrooms or a syn-free soup to have as a starter? Root veg roasted in harissa paste are delish too.

I always used to have a big tub of fruit salad when I was good at SW, done in soda water with a touch of sweetner so as not to waste syns on fruit juice.

last time I did lasagne I think I did quark mixed with yogurts and eggs...

ditavonteesed · 27/11/2010 07:43

lulu, sorry to hear your having a bad week, you do just need to draw a line and move on, do not under any circunstances carry on, you will not have pout on half a stone, maybe a coupke of pounds worst case senario. now get ourself out of the naughty chair this instant.
I am typing this while still a little bit tipsy which is quite funny, had a right job getting home last noght as snow came while we were out, saw parents from dd1's class in club which was odd. Also friend told me that now my hair was looking better he felt ab;e to tell me that he hated it before and I looked scary and butch, not what a girl wants to hear, really wish I had never had it cut I hate it, it was so long and pretty before.
ended up going out in t'shirt and jeans, still felt bigger than I want to didn't have late night chips or anything, mainly because we were getting scared abouy getting home as about 2" of snow that wasnt there when we arrived.
have a tesco finest meal for tonight but other than that going to behave today.

nikki1978 · 27/11/2010 11:34

Well I lost 6lbs on my first week :)

Very happy with that and am really enjoying the diet and all the cooking I am teaching myself to do! I am going to try a seafood risotto tonight :)

Thanks for the suggestion of precooking some veg for the fridge - very good idea, I will do that tonight.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 27/11/2010 15:19

Wow Nikki, what a brilliant start you're off to , nearly half a stone in a week !

Apart from being cold, how is everyone else doing today ? I'm just eating a satsuma then off to the local garden centre which has a Costa to have hot chocolate and see if they send salt in case we do get proper snow.

Lulumaam · 27/11/2010 16:52

well done nikki. that's a great start, really inspiring

i'm semi back on the wagon. Blush

Riamotivated · 27/11/2010 22:21

fab loss NikkiSmile

I started today SO well, but I had a major meltdown with the kids, then was frantic trying to clean up broken lightbulb in the DCs room (don't ask!), so missed lunch. Gave the boys the leftover stir-fry from last night for an early tea, as they missed lunch too (apart from DS3 who helped himself to sausage rolls!), then ended up with buttered white bread because i was starving. Damn! Tomorrow will be better, I AM going to focus between now and christmas (if only so I can fit my christmas lunch into my jeansWink)

stir-fry vegis another good one to have to reheat nikki - free stir-fried with soy sauce, garlic and 5 spice powder, or black bean sauce is quite low syn.

whatkungfuthat · 28/11/2010 09:37

Great loss Nikki Smile

Weekend so far not great - DP was out on Friday night and I ate a packet of walkers chilli sensations Blush. Had (planned) chinese meal last night and a couple of glasses of wine but some of that came out of my daily points as it was dinner and I'd only had a few points during the day. Hopefully have not gone over the extra 49 points Hmm

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 28/11/2010 17:28

How is everyone doing in this cold weather? I am finding I'm a lot colder with 2 stone less fat insulating me.

Kungfu, I had Chinese too last night and vey nice it was too. I'm addicted to Philadelphia Extra light at the moment with smoked salmon.

Ria, your roasted root veg sounds delicious, good idea.

Lulumaam, are things going OK?

izquierda · 28/11/2010 18:07

Hi everyone, just checking in with you prior to my weigh in tomorrow. Not feeling as chipper as I did last week, my DS1 is home from uni for the weekend and we have eaten well to put it mildly.
So I guess I feel a bit like Lulumaam, ready to sit on the naughty step - only joking....
Have followed the plan only about 75% this week so not sure if I can wing it and lose that final pound.
Will be so cross with myself if I've not managed it.
Didn't stay to class last time as it's got so boring lately - sick of hearing how many syns in Xmas food items
Good news is, one or two items of clothing are fitting me so much nicer.
And I have been to the gym twice and run on the treadmill which is something I've only just got the hang of!
Glad to hear all of you doing so well.
Let you know how I get on xxx

ditavonteesed · 29/11/2010 06:56

well afyte my weekend of serious excess I have only put on one pound, scary photos keep appearing of me on facebook and I definatly have a couple more stone to go, If I didnt admit it before I do know.
Does anyone want to talk about the reasons they put weight on? I know a few of you have little babies, thought it might help us not do it again when we get there.
I was on ad's which I dont think helped but the main reason was a year and a half ago dh lost his job, I found one, (he then found a temp job really quickly and now has a permanent one). My job was debt councelling for a major bank and I loved it, was doing something useful, after a couple of months the job changed and became all about getting money, then after 5 months it was announced that the department was being made redundent as moving to birmingham. They moved all the work but would not give anybody gardening leave, so for 6 months I was in an office doing nothing. The manager was a right cow and insisterd we looked busy all the time incase anyone important came in, so I spent 6 hours in the evening and all day Sat doing nothing but staring at a computer sreen (there is very little on Wikiepedia I dont know as was the only website we could access). they had a tuck shop, I ate crisps and chocolate, on saturdays we would get buttys, pizza on a tues eve, was pretty much the only thing that kept us going. I rarely saw dh and dd2 had real trouble with nightmares and things because I didnt tuck her in at night.

Anyway if a simular situation happened again I would just walk away, stick the money, I bought my lounge fireplace with the money to make sure I had something good that I got out of it, but i am not sure it was worth the stress (antistress?)

Riamotivated · 29/11/2010 07:28

mine is a long story dita, I'll save it for another timeWink

I am currently at the soul-destroying task of listening to local radio to see if the schools are open today. Wish they would decide the night before and then I could still be in bed!

Riamotivated · 29/11/2010 07:31

pah! Typical, just cos I'm feeling lazy the school is open. The footpaths will be treacherous.Sad I wonder why our school was the only one closed last week, and it looks like it will be the only one open this weekHmm

anyway, continuing my remotivation today...

Melty · 29/11/2010 08:23

Morning, am down 1.5 after my weird week.
I felt better for a few days, except after eating. Didnt stop me wanting to eat though.Blush
It means that over 10 weeks, I have lost 22.5 lbs, an average of 2lbs per week, which is not too bad at all.
Kind of didnt count syns at all. But I expect the fact that I wasnt eating my normal volumes of food had to help.
I feel better today, and have just had my porridge. Feel a tiny bit icky now, but not like last week.

I managed to buy a nice pair of jeans yesterday. Hobbs, 16s bootcut with a bit of stretch and high rise. (I never should have laughed at Simon Cowells trousers- it does wonders for my belly!)
They are having 25% off everything until today. I actually think they are overpriced for most stuff, not to mention I can't get into much of their clothes.
I didnt really mind spending £56 on them. Because they fit beautifully. And its nice to be able to breathe when sitting down Grin
Although I expect now I have splashed out I will be so motivated that they wont fit me for long.

This week could be dangerous for me. Have to go to a conference, leaving on Wed and coming back Sun pm and have no idea what the food will be like, not to mention the dinners out I have to have.
Never mind, if I keep feeling icky it will prevent me from gorgeing myself!
If not...well, I will attempt to think positively!

OP posts:
Riamotivated · 29/11/2010 09:46

well done Melty, glad you are feeling a little better. Luckily my DN only had a bug, nothing more sinister

conference sounds lovely.

have just walked home from school a longer way in the snow and I feel good ATM... long may it lastHmm

whensitgunnahappen · 29/11/2010 10:57

hello, I'm starting sw today for the 1st time. Want to loose about half a stone. I seem to be eating more than I would normally though. I'm a bit sceptical! X

Lulumaam · 29/11/2010 20:06

I felt like that at first, but when you look at what you're not eating it makes sense !! i lost 9.5 lbs in my first two weeks!

well girlies, i had my day of reckoning after my Week Of Hell, and it was 1.5 lb gain, i had thought it would be 3 - 4 lbs, so I am totally ok with that and back on it !

will cartch up with the rest now xx

Lulumaam · 29/11/2010 20:45

well done melty & dita and ria

good luck izquierda !

thanks for asking after me everyone.. i have drawn a line under this week.

I am relieved to have only gained 1.5 lbs

i have the rest of this week's meals planned. got loads of fresh fruit and veg in and am going to have a cooking day tomorrow.

my consultant said i am too hard on myself and need to remember how far i've come and not get so hung up on a few days of eating.

i have not been able to stay fro group for 2 weeks which has not helped, definitely feel much more inspired after group

izquierda · 29/11/2010 21:28

Well done, Lulumaam, I think you've done really well, speaking as one who has been told not to be too hard on herself too.

You sound to have done so well over all, so this is a time to look at the big picture.

I know though, it is a blow when you've gained...but onwards and slimwards, as I think I read on another thread.

My consultant rang me at 5pm, cancelling our 7pm class, due to threatened snow - we are in the frozen north.

I had been out for a long walk this afternoon - so hopefully burned a few cals off!

I will weigh myself on my own scales in the morning - they tend to show me about 2lbs more than the SW ones.

Only thing is, as class cancelled I had a hearty tea, again on account of the cold weather - it has a lot to answer for, this weather.

Good luck to you all this week, and welcome to our new recruits!
