Has anyone taken the step to order the tablets and wish to share their journey?

Started on Tuesday also. Had no side effects possibly a tiny bit of nausea after taking the tablet for the first hour or so. Today met friends for lunch and ordered a steak ciabatta with chips and salad. First thing I’ve eaten today. About a quarter of the way through, the brakes came on and I couldn’t eat another bite. Weighed this morning I have lost 3lbs which is probably water weight but I’m pleased so far. I have a bmi of 27.2 and want to lose a couple of stone, mainly as I carry my weight around my waist and have medicated high blood pressure.

NeedMoreTinfoil · 18/07/2026 20:29

Day 7 for me. I used Asda Online Doctor as they seem to offer reasonable support.
I had a little nausea the first 2 days but fine after that.

I have been eating much more sensibly and taking some exercise so feeling the benefits of that already. Although I now have a cold so not as active or as good with food as I have been. As soon as I feel a bit better I'll be back on the sensible stuff.

LittleGreenDragons · 18/07/2026 21:09

@user1468915974 that's confusing as most seem to be posting 1 to 2 lbs a week, not month. Where did you get your figures from?

Sundaynightterrors · 18/07/2026 21:14

My tablets arrived today so am taking the first one in the morning. I am excited but a bit worried about possible side effects such as headaches or nausea. Will be back tomorrow after my first dose!

user1468915974 · 18/07/2026 22:32

Day 1 done.
Felt sick for maybe an hour after taking the pill and I've also been really tired all day.

Piece of toast for breakfast - felt full.

Got hunger pains around lunch but a piece of cheese sorted that out.

Family wanted takeaway for tea but I wasnt hungry but just to show willing, I had a few fries.
Been using MyFitnessPal app to log my food.
First day has been OK.

Namechangewegovyjune26 · 19/07/2026 09:56

Day 10 for me - weighed myself and lost 3.5kg?!

I think maybe a lot of this is water/inflammation and it will hopefully slow down a bit.

I’ve been amazed at the change in my mindset. It’s not been laziness before, I’ve just been obsessed with food. It’s so nice to be able to take it or leave it now.

Wonderknicks · 19/07/2026 10:40

First tablet taken, no noticeable nausea or anything!

Henowner · 19/07/2026 10:46

Day 4 for me, no noticeable SE just quite thirsty so have been supplementing with electrolytes.
I have a lot of suppression and feel very full. I'm eating as healthily as possible with 3 small meals a day and 2 snacks.

NortyTorty · 19/07/2026 10:54

Pokimg my head in as I’ve been toying with starting wli for over a year but am
just scared of side effects etc, plus cost!

I’m 52. BMI is 36. I am 112kg and 5ft10 tall. I lift weights at the gym 3x weekly but all my joints ache and the hot weather has floored me. Blood pressure is borderline high and cholesterol was off the scale until I started statins. I have an auto immune condition which effectively causes inflammation but I can’t tolerate anti inflammatories like ibuprofen (they bizarrely make it worse)

Ive just signed up with Bolt but wimped out on the subscribe page because of side effects. But reading comments on here, I should just go for it!

Wonderknicks · 19/07/2026 11:12

Remember they have to list all the side effects reported during clinical trials. It doesn't mean they are caused by the meds (although obviously there is a pattern with common ones likely to be caused by them).

HorseAreBetterThanHumans · 19/07/2026 17:44

I got my pills today so starting tmrw and feeling quite nervous. Any tips much appreciated.

I'm hoping to lose a couple of stone and also to quieten the food / alcohol noises for a few months to make some changes that hopefully I can then sustain...

Wonderknicks · 19/07/2026 20:27

Zero side effects here on day 1 but also a completely normal appetite! I guess it takes a while to kick in.

Webb27 · 19/07/2026 20:54

Felt really nauseous yesterday and had no appetite but today felt completely normal and ate a normal amount maybe slightly less. Day 6

user1468915974 · 19/07/2026 21:05

Day 2
No side effects.
Roast beef dinner - left some but really could've stopped eating after half of it.
Cheese toastie for tea.

Maybe its because its the weekend and Im trying to act "normal" so that no-one suspects Im taking the pill but Im somehow managing to fight past the full feeling and carry on eating 🫣

Sundaynightterrors · 19/07/2026 21:12

Day 1 for me. Felt slightly nauseous this morning. Have definitely eaten less and had none of the sugar cravings I usually get. Have just turned down desert which is unheard of!! Hoping this continues tomorrow especially as I will also be back to the gym from tomorrow as well. Don’t think I’ve drunk enough today so am going to focus on that as well.
just wondered how often everyone weighs / records their weight? Am aiming to lose about two stone in total.

boilingstormyseas · Yesterday 09:40

Day 5 here and apart from the headache on day 1, feeling good. Definitely eating smaller portions and today's breakfast was a peach chopped into greek yoghurt (no sugar - not interested) and it was delicious. Usually it's toast and butter. I've been tired in the evenings and gone to bed early.

NortyTorty · Today 07:51

I’ve bitten the bullet, ordered the tablets and taken the first one 10 minutes ago. Crikey they taste bad!

Is anyone else on thyroxine? I’ve had very strict instructions about timings of taking tablets/eating and about notifying my GP (I thought the prescriber did that?).

Wonderknicks · Today 08:12

They do taste awful! I'm not sure they are having any effect on me at all yet, but I have had a couple of days where I've been eating out. The rest of the week I can be more sensible.
