Has anyone taken the step to order the tablets and wish to share their journey?

Day 5 and I’ve been making healthier choices for a few days now, without really trying. Just don’t fancy unhealthy stuff. My calories are up to 1300 today and I forced myself to have a full plate at dinner. My usual day would be 2000 - 2500 calories.

I can’t quite believe it! I’ve been trying to diet for so long, tried Cambridge diet, Prolon fast, everything.

user1468915974 · 14/07/2026 19:59

Ive collected the pills from the delivery office but Im nervous about starting them while Im in work.
Im also out for the football tomorrow night so don't want to ruin that.

Im planning on starting on Saturday morning so that if I get an upset stomach (or worse) I will at least be at home.

Ive tried Berberine, Max Strength Green Tea etc in the past and, although Ive lost a few pounds, the pills have always caused the worse so, Im guessing these will be the same?? And I really don't want to keep running to the loo at work!

I really hope they work because Im tired of yo-yoing with a couple of pounds on....a couple of pounds off.
I want to lose 2 stone to get me down to a healthy BMI and hopefully free from muscle and joint pain with some added body confidence.
Im excited for Saturday!

Wonderknicks · 14/07/2026 22:14

I'm just waiting to be approved. I had to buy some scales (got a bit of a shock, of course). Fingers crossed this will shift some weight. I'm active, I eat healthily, but it's the snacking that gets me.

StonwEd · 15/07/2026 15:22

Day 3 here. Side effects are fine, slightly head achey but stomach fine after first day.

I'm eating a lot less, but I'm still thinking about food because I can't believe I'm not if that makes sense 🤣
I'm not excited about eating but still enjoying the small bits I'm having. Weirdest thing is I can't finish a coffee since starting? I only have one a day but that's now a half!

I'm meeting a friend for a drink tonight as we always do on weds. I usually have a pint but i know i won't be able to do that so considering a wine instead? We only go for one so easy enough to leave some and head home but i am wondering if I'll even fancy it? I certainly don't now and I'm usually looking forward to our Wednesday catch up by lunchtime 😃 I'm not ready to tell friends, want to get a couple of weeks under my belt.

Feeling pretty good all in all but realise it's only the beginning

So day 6 for me. My appetite has definitely reduced. I am really enjoying the food I eat but finding it much easier not to snack, I feel like for the first time in my life i understand what feeling satisfied is. Not full but satisfied which is a different thing. My first weigh in at sw today since i started taking them. I have already lost 5 stone with sw (gained 1 stone back) and I would like to loose at least 4 more. I will not be telling my sw consultant or friends as otherwise the world would know. Right lets see.

How did you get on?

Does anyone know what the average lb per week loss is? I know everyone is different, I can only find general info after months on the medication. I'd hope to lose 2 -3lb a week consistently, do you think this is realistic?

Good luck all 😊

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 15/07/2026 18:17

The aim on jabs is 1-2 lbs per week as a slow steady loss is best. I would expect 1-2 lbs is possible with attention to calories in versus tdee, but this is not a quick fix - you need to put the effort in to eat healthily and exercise as well.

Cheezpuf · 15/07/2026 22:51

Hi everyone.. first day tomorrow and have to be in the office. Hopefully don’t feel too rough

pillorinjection · 15/07/2026 23:16

Day 3 here and so far the side-effects have been fine, much better than the injections, though it is early days of course!

Namechangewegovyjune26 · 16/07/2026 22:36

Day 7 done

I started the week at 74kg and I’m now 72.2kg

It’s really interesting tracking my calories see pic attached. first day was me “being good” on 2000 cals 😅

I’m not really restricting myself but it’s just naturally gone down. Before I really struggled to stay under 2000 calories. Now finding it easy to stay around 1500. Such an improvement for me! my DH brought cake home and I didn’t want any - he couldn’t believe it haha 😂

I did have a cheeky beer at a work event today in the sunshine. But I felt like I needed a big water afterwards.

End of day 1. A bit head achey but otherwise ok. Decreased appetite at lunchtime but hungry this evening so should probably up the protein a bit.

nearlyemptynes · 17/07/2026 07:04

So I lost 2 pounds in my first week so onwards and upwards, early days on this low dose. A lot of hard work ahead of me and determined to do it. I made the mistake of confiding in a friend about the tablets today. Straight away I felt judged and she said, 'have you not thought of exercising instead'? When I said that was all part of my plan along with healthy eating, not drinking etc she said , 'oh so you just can't be arsed'.

Mine are arriving on Saturday. I'm not going to tell anyone IRL, at least to start with. There seems to be quite a lot of judgyness & I don't want people constantly asking me about it. I might admit to it further down the road!
My starting BMI is 32.

SchittOnIt · 17/07/2026 09:54

Taken my first tablet this morning at about 5.30 - didn’t mean to do it that early but woke up to go to the loo and thought I might as well! At least it meant I could still have my morning cup of tea when I woke up properly at 7.30. Feeling fine so far, didn’t feel like finishing my breakfast but I have no idea if it works that quickly so it may have just been a placebo effect! I’ve told my husband who was super sweet and supportive, but I’m not going to tell anyone else at the moment. Keeping track of food via nutricheck and going to head to the gym today too.

boilingstormyseas · 17/07/2026 10:02

Actually I've been upfront and honest with quite a few people about taking this tablet. Everyone has been very supportive and tbh a few quite interested! Lots of my peer group have been on the weight loss jabs so it's becoming less of something "not to be discussed" and more mainstream conversation.

I’m not telling anyone for this reason. I don’t think any of my friends would be rude enough to say that but they may still think it.

This week has shown me that it’s really not about “being arsed”. My entire mindset has shifted from obsessing about food, now I seem to be able to leave it. Maybe not everyone is like that but for those of us who are? It’s life changing.

boilingstormyseas · 17/07/2026 11:52

My friends and I are all in our 60s so the threat of ill health (caused by excess weight) as we age becomes a more serious focus for us and probably what has encouraged quite a number of my peer group to try weight loss drugs. I wish I could be one of those people that "forgets to have lunch", but I'm not but this tablet has quietened the food noise. I've always had quite a good diet but this has really focused my mind on food choices.

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2026 11:55

I feel the same @nearlyemptynes , am no longer obsessing about food and now being able to stop whether plate empty or not .
Im on Day 10 and in the last coupleof days have noticed food just doesn't taste so good now and am wondering if the pills have altered my sense of taste.
Am only on the1.5mg starter dose so surprised as I wasn't really expecting a great difference yet.

I'm the same sort of age & worry about the effects of bring overweight as I get older.
I'm concerned that they won't work for me, I don't particularly obsess about food, I eat because it's lunchtime, or dinner time or whatever. I do snack on crisps & crackers though, so we shall see.

user1468915974 · 17/07/2026 20:57

I'm getting the wobbles...I promised myself that I would start the pills tomorrow but after reading so many posts that people are only losing 2lb a month and side effects, I really don't see the point of all this expense I'm getting myself into.

2lb a month is going to seem like forever to get 2 stone off.
I've lost a stone at Slimming Clubs though eating high protein and "behaving" myself so why can't I do it again without pouring extra chemicals into my body?
I really don't want months of potentially upset stomachs and sickness and expense to just lose a couple of pounds a month that i could easily do following diet and exercise.

Im not a binge eater, I don't eat a lot of snacks so the "food noise" that people talk of isn't really a thing for me.

Am I just a lazy person that could shift the weight with exercise??

Im so confused with all of these conflicting emotions. 😞

SilenceInside · 17/07/2026 21:11

@user1468915974 so why not set yourself a task of losing more than 2lbs in a month without taking the Wegovy tablets? If you succeed, do another month without. And so on. If you don’t manage it, then you could reassess and start the tablets.

Of course you might lose more than 2lbs on the tablets. And the point of the tablets is long term weight loss so the weight keeps coming off month after month. If you are overweight or obese then losing even 1 stone will improve your health.

Namechangewegovyjune26 · 17/07/2026 22:18

I’m not sure where you’ve read about 2lbs per month? Most on the thread have just started due to it only coming out around end of June.

Taking the daily Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide) at its maximum 25 mg dose leads to an average weight loss of about 14% to 17% of total body weight over 64 weeks. So a lot depends on your starting weight anyway. Also isn’t it better for the skin etc to lose gradually?

Thank you.
As you say, even 1 stone will improve my health.
Im just very nervous after reading about side effects but i will start the pills tomorrow and see how i go on

Spink86 · 18/07/2026 07:25

I started on Tuesday and have lost 5lb. I went on them because I was doing everything "right". I workout a lot (I'm running a marathon in October!) and thought I was doing okay with food. But this has definitely helped quieten that snacking voice and having been plateaued at 14 stone its great to see the scales finally moving in the right direction. Ideally I'll be 12 stone by the end of September and then I'll continue from there

Imnotperfecteither · 18/07/2026 10:32

I also started on Tuesday at 114.5kg and this morning I am 110.kg, considering I haven’t my been on them long I am definitely feeling the effects of them. I find I’m hardly thinking about food throughout the day day at all. No side effects and no issues with them at all x
