Weygovy April 26 starters

lechatnoir · 11/04/2026 19:16

I’ve finally taken the plunge and just ordered Wegovy from Asda pharmacy. All been well it should be ready for collection on Tuesday so it would be great to hear from anyone else who has just started or is about start their WLI/Weygovy journey.
I’m very nervous and haven’t told anyone, but I’ve just failed at my 3rd diet attempt this year and feeling horribly self-conscious about my weight and dreading the summer so just thought fuck it, I’m going to give it a go.

Well, my Saturday symptoms were a false alarm and I think hangover related as I’m not really noticing any change at all yet (First dose Wednesday lunchtime). Bit disappointed as I’m sure like everyone it actually takes you quite awhile to get to that point so do then expect/hope for something to happen If not the long awaited miracle we all want.

Sharing as I can see quite a few new starters and hopefully it will help manage early expectations and dose planning around life events.

I’m about to be a new starter too - thanks for sharing all your experiences.

My first delivery arrived today, but I’m going to wait until Wednesday to start as I have a friend’s birthday celebration on Tuesday evening and it’s a 3 course meal which is already pre-ordered.

Im assuming it’s ok just to leave everything in the box until then.

So Wednesday is the day - slightly apprehensive but looking forward to it.

hoodiemassive · 19/04/2026 14:31

@lechatnoirI didn’t notice any effects really until today, after my 3rd jab, when I’ve suddenly got full appetite suppression and feel a bit sicky. I’ve already ordered my 0.5ml pen and am now wondering if it’ll be a jump too far and if I should have stuck to 0.25 for another month.

Have looked into counting clicks to give a lower dose but maybe I’ll be ready for 0.5ml after my fourth jab.

Am off to MIL’s for dinner which is going to be tricky - told her I am on Wegovy though so at least she’ll understand if I can’t scoff my usual amount!

hoodiemassive · 19/04/2026 14:34

And welcome @IDontKnowWhatYouMeantry not to feel nervous it’s a really simple process and you are in control of dosage. I think Wegovy is a bit gentler than mounjaro in terms of intensity which is good when you are first starting.

lechatnoir · 19/04/2026 14:34

As long as it’s in the fridge, it’s fine to leave it @IDontKnowWhatYouMean and I’m sure you’ll be okay to take it on the day as I’ve never heard anyone have an instant reaction on a low dose

5lb down in my first week! Really pleased with that. I’ve lost similar in first week in past on weight watchers/slimmimg world. I have felt some effect def felt less hungry at times and more full after eating. As somebody else said it is a bit of a delayed reaction I could carry on eating but then a short while later I feel full. 2 slices of pizza and some salad filled me up last night - before I would have ate the full pizza! Bit it is taking will power and I did feel hungry when working nights so going to jab tomorrow instead of today in hope of higher satiety when working wed-fri. I am still feeling the effects today. Good luck to all those just starting

VividDeer · 19/04/2026 18:27

I've done it. Didn't hurt. Thought it would be like clexane injections but much lesser needle.

However, I stabbed myself putting it in sharps bin so did something wrong there

BreakingBroken · 19/04/2026 19:58

Well done @VividDeer.
I’m 56 hours in, and enjoyed 1/2 my usual big Sunday breakfast.
I worried if I’d struggle to make it to lunch but it’s now noon and I’m fine.

JumpingJacks11 · 19/04/2026 20:31

@VividDeer well down, I actually did the same thing with the needle into the bin 🫣

@itsallabouttobegin what a great loss on week 1. yeah I was saying about the delayed fullness, I was just being cautious the first day or 2, eating smaller amounts, I prob could have kept going but glad I didn’t then when I was so full 10 mins later.

I have 3 full days done, into the 4th now I suppose and I already feel such a difference in terms of bloating and swollenness, i think I’m in perimenopause for roughly the last yr so that’s what I think has caused all the bloating and constant weight gain. I’m intrigued to weigh, I think I’ll have a peek tomorrow and see if there’s anything off 🤞🏽

@JumpingJacks11 did you start on Thursday as well?

JumpingJacks11 · 19/04/2026 21:26

@BreakingBroken yes started Thursday ❤️

BreakingBroken · 19/04/2026 21:30

hour by hour or meal by meal i'm pleasantly surprised. i wasn't hungry for lunch but knowing what i had for breakfast and what is planned for supper, i cut up some celery and carrot sticks. my bigger concern is fiber, i want to maintain good fiber intake. but no side effects and certainly no hunger just worry about healthy intake.

cafenoirbiscuit · 19/04/2026 22:23

Disappointingly, have lost all of 400g in the first 2 weeks, despite eating half of what I usually do. I’ve jumped ahead to .5 today for week 3, and am hopeful to see a bit more progress.

BreakingBroken · 20/04/2026 00:41

@cafenoirbiscuit is this your first time trying this medication? just wondering why you're jumping up sooner than suggested if you find your appetite is less?
along with the med are you logging your food?
during certain phases of your cycle women hold on to more water weight etc. if your still having periods it's not unusual to fluctuate 5 lbs in a month just from hormones.
i'm totally new to glp1's but certainly not new to dieting.
i'm fully expecting to still need to watch very carefully the calories going in, or am i doing glp1's wrong?

Katkincake · 20/04/2026 07:04

Today’s the day for my 1st injection.

Watched videos on what to do and my friend told me to check I did take off 2 caps as her boss had only done 1 and not injected herself 😂.

Nervous for the pain and the side effects but it needs to be done. Will report back later.

hope you all have great days

There was another thread where a lady worked out she hadn't injected anything for weeks! I was thinking that would be me!
I think i did it right. Apart from stabbing my finger.

It doesnt hurt so dont be scared.

JumpingJacks11 · 20/04/2026 07:29

@Katkincake it doesn’t hurt at all, so much so that I thought I mustn’t have done it correct as I felt nothing go in or the liquid or anything, u literally will feel like nothing happened 😅

NSV this morning, I’m only a few days in but work trousers this morning are so much more comfortable to put on🥰 it’s put me in such a good mood

lechatnoir · 20/04/2026 09:12

Honestly @Katkincake we've all been there but it's literally a tiny scratch and I almost felt silly for building it up so much.

@VividDeer honestly did start to think I should check the vial emptied I've had so little response - managed a normal large roast dinner yesterday and pizza saturday night just can't seem to get my head into dieting mode at the moment and food noise//suppression hasn't reach me yet.

I'm taking my 2nd dose a day early (Tuesday) as I'm going away that night and it would be easier not to have to take it with me - checked with Voy and they we OK with it as a first injection adjustment esp given lack of reaction.

2nd jab today and again barely it felt 😊 I’m feeling so motivated I’ve had a big clothes sort out. I’ve kept things I love and will fit me along the way but been pretty ruthless with my current wardrobe! I’m on a mission 😊

HRTnewbie · 20/04/2026 19:40

@cafenoirbiscuit I'm really sorry that is really frustrating.

RaelImperialAerosolKid · 20/04/2026 20:54

@JumpingJacks11- I was fine after the curry thanks - it does say avoid spicy food but I’ve not had an issue- thanks.
I will take my 3rd jab on Wednesday- I was really surprised how easy and painless it is - and was questioning if I’d done it right.
I haven’t told anyone outside immediate family that I am
doing this , I wouldn’t disclose any other medication so am keeping this private. Anyone had any negative reactions? It’s probably so widespread now no one cares anyway.

Just about to order month 2 - I think I will stick to 0.25, I’m hardly hungry as it is so no need to spend more just yet.

Katkincake · 20/04/2026 21:04

You’re all right, didn’t feel a thing which also made me wonder if I did it right, but tummy was a little niggly an hour later so something must have gone in!

Not feeling any different or had side effects but too early so guess. Sat here wondering whether to go and get some yogurt and bananas which I was planning for pudding, but can’t be bothered so maybe head is there before body?

how have your days been?

VividDeer · 20/04/2026 21:43

I've not had any appetite on day 1, but was the same yesterday before the jab. Combination of having period and over eating Saturday in preparation!
.

BreakingBroken · 20/04/2026 21:53

i'm having a bit better will power then usual.
old habits are however noticeable.
normally at costco i would have sampled all the available samples, today i didn't.
that's not to say that i wasn't tempted but the pull wasn't that strong.
yesterday i knew i didn't feel hungry but avoiding lunch altogether just seemed so wrong, so i had carrot and celery sticks.
i recognize that i'm not hungry but equally know for bone and muscle health i should eat something.
volume wise i'm not struggling with the meals i'm having, but again taking advantage of not really feeling hungry and setting out smaller portion sizes.
