lechatnoir · 11/04/2026 19:16

I’ve finally taken the plunge and just ordered Wegovy from Asda pharmacy. All been well it should be ready for collection on Tuesday so it would be great to hear from anyone else who has just started or is about start their WLI/Weygovy journey.
I’m very nervous and haven’t told anyone, but I’ve just failed at my 3rd diet attempt this year and feeling horribly self-conscious about my weight and dreading the summer so just thought fuck it, I’m going to give it a go.

Hi all, I started my Wegovy journey on Saturday - first jab was that afternoon. I had food suppression from Monday and have been eating around 1100 calories a day, I am so full - I can’t bring myself to eat any more. It took me about 2.5 hours to eat my breakfast yesterday.

I don’t have any bad side effects apart from bad insomnia. I can go to sleep but then wake up around 3am for a couple of hours before falling asleep again. It’s only week one but it’s affecting my work as I’ve not been able to go in the office as much this week.

Is anyone else having bad sleep on it? I am considering microdosing for my jabs going forward.

Yup. 3am awake with nausea about 3x since starting a couple of weeks ago.

I’m shattered and wishing I had some polos

VividDeer · 17/04/2026 07:48

I have been approved by medexpress now so joining in the jabbing asap.
I looked at the photo I submitted again at bedtime. Its so incredibly awful, I would of approved me! Hopefully i don't look quite so bad in my normal clothes. I picked an unflattering combo and it certainly was. Emailed it to myself and deleted everywhere else as I certainly don't want to see it for a while.
Certainly given me a kick to get going

JumpingJacks11 · 17/04/2026 08:43

Great there are so many of us at the same stage! I had no interest in breakfast this morning (my usual overnight oats) so didn’t force myself to eat them. Had a coffee and will try a banana in an hr or so.
any good ideas for something handy and small but mainly protein/fibre based for an on the go breakfast (I usually have overnight oats in the car on way to work).

@ritala @cafenoirbiscuit sorry to hear about the insomnia, are u drinking lots of water and some electrolytes? I’ve a few friends that have mentioned that helped with this

TheCovetedDuchessRose · 17/04/2026 09:16

Hello to all. I started with my first injection on Monday. I’ve felt less hungry but very distracted by planning what I can eat and when I can eat. Not snacking much and struggling to eat my normal portions so that’s a plus. I’m 12stone, want to get to 10 1/2 stone. My main aim at the moment is to look better when we go on a cruise in August. I have a wardrobe of beautiful clothes but they are all looking too tight now. I split my most favourite jeans last Friday and that really spurned me on.
I feel a bit nauseous, like the early days of pregnancy.
Good luck everyone

hoodiemassive · 17/04/2026 10:02

Welcome to the thread @BreakingBrokenand @TheCovetedDuchessRose!

I am doing my third jab tomorrow - so far I have lost just 1.5lbs so not a super responder but I’m happy to see the scales going down for a change!

Nothing to report in side effects so I’ll take that as a win. My 0.5 jab came yesterday so am hoping that once I’ve completed my fourth 0.25 jab I’ll feel more appetite suppression (hopefully no side effects though).

Hope you are all getting on ok?

jabsahoy · 17/04/2026 13:35

5 days in and symptom free, sorry for those of you suffering. Though I am more thirsty.

As it's a birthday weekend, I weighed this morning and 3lbs off (1.6% of me!)!!! Next jab will be Sunday evening so will prob be same next weigh in as will be losing celebration food & drink weight gained this weekend probably 😆

I have been tracking on my fitness pal and averaging about 1300/1400 cals a day. This worked for some weightloss last year but couldn't keep it up beyond the 2nd week - the difference this time is am just not nearly as hungry so its making it easier with lower calories.

Have a good weekend all!

lechatnoir · 17/04/2026 13:43

Well 2 days in and so not a sign of anything which is all a bit disappointing after it took me so long to get started. I’m happy I’ve not got any weird symptoms, but now starting to think I didn’t inject properly but realise this is a bit keen and things may take 3 or 4 days to kick in. Meanwhile, I seem to be eating more than ever in some subliminal & warped sense of panic that I won’t want to eat soon Blush.

welcome newcomers all looking to shed ahead of the summer.

itsallabouttobegin · 17/04/2026 14:36

Oh no @lechatnoirhow disappointing. I’m hungry now I don’t whether it is wearing off 5 days in or it’s just because I’ve flipped my sleep pattern around with being on nights 😫 more will power required than I expected

JumpingJacks11 · 17/04/2026 19:18

Thanks @ritala i must look into those.
does anyone else find it takes 20/30 mins after eating for that full feeling to kick in. I ate dinner and thought will I had something sweet… waited it out and 20 mins later I felt full & no interest in having anything sweet

I’m around 1,050 calories for the day so far and feel very comfortable/ satisfied. The evening from 7-9 ish is my problem, so let’s see can I get through without wanting snacks.

@lechatnoir i thought id injected wrong/ not at all last night as it just seemed like nothing when I done it, didn’t feel anything go in etc.. it’s weird isn’t it. I hope it kicks in for u now tomorrow x

anyone exercising along side taking it and how are u finding it? I went for a run today and did a little 10 min weights session after, felt ok, was worried I’d feel dizzy but was ok thank god

BreakingBroken · 17/04/2026 19:59

24 hours in. nothing to note, not even a bruise where i poked myself.
however i have weighted in first thing in the am 185 lbs
i have reactivated my cronometer account (just the free version) and so far logged my meals.
12 years ago when i retired from work i was 185, i have been down to 140 since then but NOT sustained that the creep back up was over a solid 3-4 years but picked up since last year due to stress.
dh is aware but i've not mentioned it to anyone else. but being i've lost/gained/lost/gained maybe no one will really notice.

hollybee75 · 18/04/2026 07:46

Hoping to get my delivery this week, but very nervous. I suffer from emetophobia (fear of vomiting), which I have had therapy for, but the possible side-effects are making me very nervous. However, I'm heavier now than I was when I was pregnant(!), so I've decided something has to change. My gain is definitely peri related and I've been trying for months to shift the weight, but no success. I'm coming in at 13 stone and I should be around 10......

VividDeer · 18/04/2026 09:02

Hi @hollybee75 we can start together.

Brave of you to do it. I have some degree of emetophobia too, although improved in the years since being a parent.

lechatnoir · 18/04/2026 09:47

Well, day three I’ve woken up with a funny taste in my mouth and stopped eating my breakfast after about three mouthfuls which is unusual. Hard to say whether it’s kicking in or my hangover from a heavy night BlushConfused

Checking in - went out for a meal last evening with work friends - I didn’t eat all day and then only managed half of my curry - which is completely new behaviour! Stuck to water as well.

Katkincake · 18/04/2026 14:25

Can I join you? My pen arrived yesterday but I’m hungover today so may take it tomorrow or wait till Monday when I’m working at home, don’t want any side effects when I’m out and about!!

I weigh 14st and 5ft 6. First aim is 1 stone off by cruise mid August. I’m 50 next month so some off by my birthday at end of month would be great.

Husband was dead set against jabs so I haven’t done it till now as we’ve tried dieting normally together, but he’s changed his mind as 2 of his friends are using them so he’s going to do it too.

ritala · 18/04/2026 14:32

Hi all, I took my second shot today but click counted counted to 0.06 (9 clicks), so 1/4 of the starter dose as I had such a strong reaction to my first jab. Hoping this week will be gentler and I’ll be able to eat a bit more and sleep. I don’t want to go below 1300 calories a day really. My goal for taking these jabs is to reset my thinking and encourage good habits. I also want to improve my autoimmune condition as microdosing is meant to help, so we will see. I’m excited for this week ahead knowing I won’t have so much of the drug in my system. Even a small amount can help you lose weight and improve conditions. I am a lower BMI starter and don’t have a lot of weight to lose so we will see. I can already see improvements to my condition, so that’s really, really encouraging after being fobbed off by the NHS for years. I feel like I am taking back some control.

Have a great week ahead all.

BreakingBroken · 18/04/2026 16:20

@VividDeer @hollybee75
I’m only 40hrs in and honestly nothing. No side effects at all. I’ve had long stretches of being mindful of my food choices so this is not much different than when I’m focused.
But zero tummy issues at this point.

JumpingJacks11 · 18/04/2026 16:52

@ritala oh I didn’t realise u could do that at all, so u could do say half the dose or even 3/4’s and the pen would last even longer.
has anyone tried getting or heard of getting the 5th dose?

day 2 for me is going well, im def fuller sooner/ eating much smaller amounts! I kinda can’t believe it’s working. I’ve been able to run and do weights sessions no problem too which I was afraid I mightn’t be able for.

@RaelImperialAerosolKid that’s great on the meal out. what day are u on now? The curry didn’t upset ur tummy or anything?

@lechatnoir sounds like it might be kicking in. Did u find u could drink as normal? I’ve heard ppl say they lose interest in drinking also

ritala · 18/04/2026 17:03

@JumpingJacks11Microdosing isn’t as much of a thing here in the UK but yes - it’ll make pen last longer and gives me a bit of flexibility with dosing as I had a bit of a rocky week. Have a look into it if you think you might benefit! There are a lot of calculators out there for clic counting. I don’t know about the golden dose, I think with the new pens (which I guess we have?) you can’t get that extra dose out? I think I’m too scared to try!

I am out tonight and also wondered about booze (too scared to try it so far!) I don’t really fancy it that much but did wonder how I’d get on with a small glass of Prosecco.

BreakingBroken · 18/04/2026 17:04

I’d never experienced this type of medication delivery and I too considered a “lesser” dose worrying about the effects. I noticed it took 25 little clicks to get to the 2.5 mark. When you press the plunger it scrolls back to zero. So although there is no marking indication .5/1/1.5/2 etc. I can see how it would be easy to figure out.

VividDeer · 18/04/2026 17:37

Mine is due tomorrow.
I hope it helps me with wine noise, as its a chunk of my extra calories and cause of overeating. I have cut right back already, but find holidays difficult

hoodiemassive · 18/04/2026 19:24

I’ve been wondering about the ‘golden dose’ too but thought it doesn’t exist in newer pens?

3rd jab day today and I am 2.5lbs down. Happy with the appetite suppression but planning on moving up to 0.5 to speed things up a little, once I’ve done my last 0.25.

HRTnewbie · 19/04/2026 07:14

2nd jab last night. I've had a horrid bug friday/saturday. Definitely bug not side effect, I was with a colleague who came down with it earlier in the week and my dd also had it friday.

This means I think my weight this morning wont be accurate. A loss of 5lbs which I have never lost in one week. I suspect 2-3lbs will be dehydration due to the bug. So loss of 2-3lbs?

@VividDeer I have not thought about wine at all last week. The real test would have been friday when I like a glass of wine. Sometimes I will have a glass on a different day and I've not even considered it, even though there was half a bottle in the fridge. I was also hoping that the wine noise would go... and so far so good... It's one of those things when I am on a diet that I miss and makes me feel like I'm missing out.

Dumbitdown · 19/04/2026 10:01

Signing up! My first jabs are due to arrive in the post soon.

I'm a shorty with a massive appetite that I've always had to keep reigns on, with varying degrees of success which means my weight has never been constant. The last few years, with a very sedentary job, lots of stress, no exercise and very little energy, it's just gone up and up. I feel awful.

So, apart from the jabs, I also got a gym/pool membership and a new bike which will be used for the commute from this week.

Current BMI is 33 at 78kg/12 stone
Target BMI is 24 at 58kg/9 stone

Best of luck to you all , looking forward to the nice new clothes too 🤩
