Weygovy April 26 starters

lechatnoir · 11/04/2026 19:16

I’ve finally taken the plunge and just ordered Wegovy from Asda pharmacy. All been well it should be ready for collection on Tuesday so it would be great to hear from anyone else who has just started or is about start their WLI/Weygovy journey.
I’m very nervous and haven’t told anyone, but I’ve just failed at my 3rd diet attempt this year and feeling horribly self-conscious about my weight and dreading the summer so just thought fuck it, I’m going to give it a go.

Wow well done you @RaelImperialAerosolKid thats amazing!

lechatnoir · 15/04/2026 10:09

Wow well done @RaelImperialAerosolKid that's amazing (trots off to read what you've been doing 😆).

My delivery has just arrived so got to decide whether to crack on or wait until tomorrow - I've got an exercise class & then out for dinner tonight so not sure I want to be feeling rough plus weekend is always my downfall so thinking if I inject on a Thursday or Friday my suppression will be best at the weekend. Or do I just stop procrastinating and do it now. Assume you were all nervous about it too 😬

Yes I was nervous and also couldn't decide when to start. I decided to start on a Saturday (as I was going out for a family meal on friday with people I dont see often). I did my first one saturday evening. I felt different as soon as I woke up on Sunday morning! Its worn off mainly now... but still some effects.

Good luck!

lechatnoir · 15/04/2026 13:57

Thanks @HRTnewbie I've taken the 'fuck it just do it' approach before I change my mind altogether thinking about the risks so 0.25mg all done. I'm away next week so need to remember to take it with me and hoping any symptoms are gone before I travel Monday evening.

sorry not much has happened yet for you @hoodiemassive and fingers crossed it kicks in soon and symptoms are settling down for everyone (& we see some losses!!)

HRTnewbie · 15/04/2026 14:05

Good plan! I like the fuck it approach!

jabsahoy · 15/04/2026 18:21

Liking the attitude @lechatnoir

Day 4, 2lbs down (the scales did flicker to a 3rd but settled on 2!). No symptoms at all, well may be more thirsty but other than that digestion all good, bit of a headache on Sunday but that went with more drinking. Definitely got some noticeable appetite suppression and feeling cautiously optimistic that this might just work.

Also worked out 2lb a week til my birthday in the summer hols and I'll only be overweight!

itsallabouttobegin · 15/04/2026 21:28

That’s great @jabsahoyi haven’t weighed yet but similar 4 days in, slight headache on first day and my mouth feels a bit funny/fuzzy but otherwise no symptoms. I was also drinking huge amounts of Diet Coke - we’d get through 20x2l bottle a week between husband and I as don’t really drink hot drinks. I just don’t fancy it now and feel it tastes different.

first big test tonight as my first night back in work. I’m hungry 😫 had fruit salad this morning then went back to bed for a few hours and woke up hungry and I’m hungry again now! Need to work out how to manage my day when I’m swapping on to nights without eating tonnes! Think it will be easier tomorrow when I’ve slept all day. May need to calorie track to keep on top of it

jabsahoy · 15/04/2026 23:11

wow not buying 40 litres of coke a week would probably pay for the jab each month.

I don't seem to have gone off my daily coke zero can yet.

itsallabouttobegin · 16/04/2026 00:22

There was a typo there should have said 10x2l but still a huge amount and a welcome bonus if can reduce that and put the money towards the jabs 😊

ritala · 16/04/2026 09:59

Hi all, I started my Wegovy journey on Saturday - first jab was that afternoon. I had food suppression from Monday and have been eating around 1100 calories a day, I am so full - I can’t bring myself to eat any more. It took me about 2.5 hours to eat my breakfast yesterday.

I don’t have any bad side effects apart from bad insomnia. I can go to sleep but then wake up around 3am for a couple of hours before falling asleep again. It’s only week one but it’s affecting my work as I’ve not been able to go in the office as much this week.

Is anyone else having bad sleep on it? I am considering microdosing for my jabs going forward.

Bunito · 16/04/2026 10:45

Morning all. I’m taking my 3rd dose later today. The scales are telling me that I’ve lost 1.5kg so far, which is a lot less than others report, although I feel like I’ve lost more with how my clothes fit. It’s all movement in the right direction though

VividDeer · 16/04/2026 13:36

Just ordered.
I started with a bmi of 30 in Jan. Managed to lose a fair few pounds, but now stalled. And about to start a medication that piles on weight.

Bmi now 28
Goal around 23 would be lovely 😍 (dreaming).

I'm very short.

hoodiemassive · 16/04/2026 15:11

@ritalasorry to hear it is disrupting your sleep - it’s not a side effect I’ve had but hopefully someone will be here who has some good advice.

@Bunito that’s more weight loss than me and sounds like a great start! I am due my third jab on Saturday and my 0.5 pen is due today so looking forward to moving up! I have some appetite suppression and have managed to cut out snacks which I’m happy with.

@VividDeer welcome to the thread! What dose are you on?

VividDeer · 16/04/2026 15:28

I'll just be on the 0.25 initially @hoodiemassive

StrongGirlsLift · 16/04/2026 16:01

Hi all, hope you don’t mind if I sail into your thread, but started taking WeGovy at the end of November and am so, so happy I did.

I’m 25lbs down, into a healthy BMI, have a better BP reading, and am loving exercising in a lighter body. I hope it works equally well for all of you! I have been losing at a rate of about 5lbs a month, which doesn’t sound like much but adds up when it’s consistent!

A few tips: drink lots of water, be wary of fatty and greasy food, prioritize veg and protein, find some kind of exercise that you enjoy, and be ready to switch out those clothes on Vinted! I did 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 1.0 1.0 pens and was just considering going up to 1.7mg during a two-week stall, but am not sure yet.

I still have a way to go to goal - I have shrunk all over but my belly is still very much present!

Hope it works for all of you. Good luck!

HRTnewbie · 16/04/2026 16:27

@StrongGirlsLift congratulations!! Thanks so much for the advice. Can I ask are you counting calories? What is your typical food each day? Did you get any results from the 0.25? Sorry for all the questions... greatful to hear from someone who has been there and is doing so well!

StrongGirlsLift · 16/04/2026 17:38

Oh, great questions. Yes, I lost 4lbs on 0.25, bearing in mind it was over the holidays with a number of social events! I was calorie counting to begin with using the photo tool in Voy (which is not massively accurate but is a guide).

I am a vegetarian and do a decent amount of sport (with very sedentary job) so I do try to get good protein, not always successfully. I usually have protein rich yoghurt with chia seeds and flaxseeds and fruit for breakfast. Then a hearty salad or sandwich or leftovers for lunch. And in the evening, I just have a small portion of whatever we’re all having - I love tofu curry with lots of veg for example. Sometimes protein shakes if I’ve been training. It’s very very clear to me that the problem was never the healthiness of the meals I was eating, just the volume of it and the panic-snacking at 6pm when I finished work and felt stressed and crap. That has disappeared.

For the first time in my life, I am eating some of my food and my body is signalling to me when to stop. This is totally normal for my mother and some of my friends, and totally alien to me! The two times I have ignored this instinct, I have ended up vomiting at night. The portions I am eating to lose weight are pretty small (I’m short). It’s been quite a revelation.

HRTnewbie · 16/04/2026 18:20

@StrongGirlsLift thank you so much. Yes I very much relate. My actual meals normally (apart from pasta!) aren't the problem either, but snacking, weekend treats and portions are.

Thank you that's really helpful. It's another thing to help me keep on track, knowing that not doing so may lead to a physical reaction.
Really appreciate you popping by!

jabsahoy · 16/04/2026 18:37

@StrongGirlsLift thanks for sharing your experience so far, I am also short (5'1.5") so feeling your pain /revelation on portion sizes!

It's DP's birthday this weekend so am away from tomorrow morning til very late Sunday - there's a bit of me thinking to do my 2nd jab which would be due Sunday morning tomorrow to keep the hunger at bay over the weekend. Or is that a ludicrous idea??

StrongGirlsLift · 16/04/2026 18:54

Given the early stage, I’m not sure I’d take a jab early - your body is only just getting used to the meds. You’re in it for the long haul - one weekend won’t make too much difference!

Yup, maintenance calories just aren’t very high for short folk!

lechatnoir · 16/04/2026 19:17

Thanks @StrongGirlsLiftreally good of you to come and share your experience. I’m still waiting for mine to properly kick in but good to hear it does address the mindless/boredom eating - like you my meals are generally pretty good it’s the 5-7pm window and weekend overindulgence I struggle with she says having had 3 packets of crisps in the past hour after the sensible protein egg 🙄

StrongGirlsLift · 16/04/2026 19:22

@lechatnoir you're very welcome. Someone popped in on our thread too, like the ghost of Christmas future 😬.

I hope the WG helps you with the 5-7pm munchies! I feel it must be hormonal or something, definitely related to stress levels for me.

JumpingJacks11 · 16/04/2026 23:06

I hope ye don’t mind me jumping on here too, literally just did my first injection about an hr ago! Didn’t realise the alcohol wipes don’t come in the box 🫣 but just washed the area well so 🤞🏽

@RaelImperialAerosolKid what a great start you’ve had. I’d love to be a super responder.

My issue, like many, is the snacking. It’s only started in the last yr and I cannot control it, I’ve tried so many things but I’ve just consistently put on 2-3 pounds a month for about a year now, it’s so deflating! I’m really hoping this helps. All positive stories welcome 🙂 I’m kind of excited to see how I feel tomorrow.
did everyone notice it straight away the next day?

BreakingBroken · 16/04/2026 23:53

may i join? my dr prescribed ozempic and i just took my first dose. what ever i'm in for, here goes.
zero clue, zero research, my cholesterol was up and he suggested this.
of course i've seen ad's here and there and talk online.
i initially went to the dr. with gastric reflux so much weight around my belly each time i bent over (tie my shoes, loaded the washer, picked up the old dog etc) i would have severe reflux but it was obvious to me it was from my belly pressing in or on my stomach (really noticed this when i laid down).
i'm a retired nurse so the syringe thing was easy enough.
i did weigh myself and i have a good 46 lbs to loose to normal BMI

BreakingBroken · 16/04/2026 23:56

@JumpingJacks11 regarding the alcohol swabs, yes the pharmacist kind of implied it was included...i spotted some cotton balls and some alcohol in my bathroom supply cupboard and proceeded. if i hadn't spotted that i too was simply going to do a spot wash.
