Woo! I had a 5lb whoosh!

At week 51 that takes me to exactly 8st 7lb lost. It also means I'm now 39.9bmi so in the 30's! I started at 59bmi.

I'm aiming for 3lb next week (my Monjiversary) to get me into the 16 stones bracket but probably a bit ambitious after this weeks whoosh!
54kg gone forever

Amazing 😍 🤩 well done

52soon · 07/03/2026 12:48

Not happy with my scales today, had a 4lb whoosh last week after being ill so expected to stay the same which I did until yesterday and today then 2lbs on!! How can that be, I’ve even been back on the Greek yogurt this week and definitely not over 1200 calories a day.
Don’t know if stress is playing a part this week my son is serving and it’s looking likely he’ll be deployed, things are changing daily and my heart drops every time his name flashes up on my phone. In the grand scheme of things 2lbs doesn’t matter just tipped me over today.

Theringcycle · 07/03/2026 12:56

@52soon i also find gains demoralising but it’s not linear - I find it helpful to think of the downward zigzag. It must also be very stressful with your son’s situation.

TragicMuse · 07/03/2026 13:17

That is stressful @52soon your cortisol must be all over the place, and stress can do all kinds of ridiculous things to a body.

We are having some trying times. I’d shown a loss all week. Today it’s 1lb on. And like you I haven’t been over 1250 all week.

Bodies are twats at times!

Onenotsosmallstep · 07/03/2026 14:56

@Fffreeeeezing thst’s brilliant. A well deserved whoosh can make all the difference 😊. I always look out for your posts my ‘jabiversary’ twin. Seems like a long time since we were thrilled to have lost 3st 3!

CatAtTheWindow · 07/03/2026 15:08

Weigh in day Week 6 yesterday = 1.5lbs lost
SW 20st 12lbs
CW 20st
Total loss 12lbs

Hoping for 2lbs loss next week to take me into the teens and also hit the 1st stone off mark.

PearlsTeapot · 07/03/2026 17:23

I am an eating machine 😣someone wire my jaw shut please!

I don't know what's wrong with me at the moment, all good intentions and then low will power. I just keep buying the treats and eating the treats. I want to say I'm going to stop completely but making big vows is Old Behaviour. So instead I just need to promise myself to try harder.

And yet it doesn't it feel that long ago that we were excited to be in that 3st 3 club! Isn't it amazing how much has changed for both of us in that time, if you had told me a year ago that I would be 8.5st lighter I'd have called you a liar 🤣

I also couldn't have imagined that on a Saturday I would start the day with a strength training workout and then go on a quick dog walk that was over 5k, either one of those would have floored me a year ago and yet I could confidently do both of them a second time today with ease (not going to though!)

Happy almost 1 year Monjiversary @Onenotsosmallstep

Fffreeeeezing · 07/03/2026 18:02

Bad news everyone, gonna have to pack this MJ thing in. My grandmother has just told me that although she acknowledges how well I've done, she has concerns I might be turning into a 'beanpole' and she wouldn't like that, she says she doesn't like people who are beanpoles 🤣

Ha, 17st 5ft5 me, have to love the wisdom and advice of a 93 year old, the same 93 year old who regularly tells me that I should eat more sugar because it's never done her any harm (she has had all but 2 of her teeth removed at age 26) and has fish&chips as her main food group

Billybingbong · 07/03/2026 19:02

Haha, grandparents are ace aren't they. Mine told me when I was a teenager that I would never be thin because I had inherited the family thighs. God love her, she was a wonderful woman, but didn't have an ounce of tact.

Missingducks · 07/03/2026 19:04

Unlike my grandmother @Fffreeeeezing who, when I was a 6ft size 12 teenager captain of local sports team etc, told me her friends couldnt believe how a tiny woman like her could have a big clumsy granddaughter like me.

Actually perhaps it is all her fault and I ate my feelings ...!

TragicMuse · 07/03/2026 19:09

We ordered dominos. Last year I’d have inhaled most of a large. Today, 3 slices and I’m done. My heart wants to eat more but I can’t! I’m both happy and not at the same time!

We've had takeaway pizza too, I ordered a medium (9") thin crust but did eat it all! Still, I reckon about 800 calories so even with a couple of glasses of wine I'm still only on 1500 for the day which is pretty reasonable given I went for a run this morning

TragicMuse · 07/03/2026 19:49

Oh that is good @RenegadeKeeblerElf!

TragicMuse · 07/03/2026 19:53

I went clothes shopping today, tried on a few pairs of wide-ish elasticated waist jeans.

They all fitted but I didn’t like them. They reminded me that I prefer a flat front. I’ve made some trousers in the past last few years and usually altered the pattern for a half elastic in the back. I might make some later this year.

But I don’t want to do it now because they’ll be too big before I get the wear! I think Gnome has said similar…

PearlsTeapot · 07/03/2026 19:55

I wish I could make my own clothes!!

Well done on the pizzas ladies.

In good news I think I’ve finally overdone dried mango. I’ve had a pot of it every day for a month since I’ve been home and I’m finally at that MEH point. I’ll need another mid afternoon snack now but hopefully one less calories!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 07/03/2026 22:20

Dried mango?
I used to love that, but couldn't only eat a small quantity.
I had to eat all of it, and it's full of calories, so I stopped buying it.

MCR24 · 07/03/2026 22:31

I've been eating apples recently.

The dress I ordered in a small (near the start of my weight loss) as an aim to fit into it finally goes on and is only tight over the boobs. However as it zips up the front I don't think I'll risk wearing it just yet!

EnterSandfan · 07/03/2026 22:34

A very unexpected whoosh this week, 4.5lbs off. I did have a dodgy stomach this week though so I'm prob just empty and dehydrated 😆 half of it will probably be back soon. But it's taken me officially under 100kgs!
Tried on my wedding dress tonight just out of interest, and it was a bit too big in places, which is nice but also sad in a way.
Also today I had my first hair cut in 10 years, I hate going to the hairdresser like most people hate the dentist so that's big news for me 😆

SW 293lbs
SW on MJ (November) 253lbs
CW 217.9lbs

Theringcycle · 08/03/2026 11:19

Hello friends. @EnterSandfan i don’t like going to the hairdresser either as I’ve never yet come out thinking “hmm I’m sure it’ll be alright once I’ve run it under a tap”. I also dislike going to the nail salon (saw someone describe it as the hand dentist and honestly never truer words) but I do it because I like the pretty nails more than I like doing them myself.

not sure if these are NSVs or not but I went away for the weekend to meet up with friends and on the train on the way up old me would have gone for the toastie but I chose the grazing box and really properly felt a sense of calm and neutrality and not panic / restraint. Then I did have some alcoholic drinks but at dinner I didn’t have the feeling of “default is that I will finish all my food” and I ate what I wanted, felt like I’d eaten a lot, but it was far less than I would have eaten beforehand.

PearlsTeapot · 08/03/2026 11:52

Those are good NSVs, @Theringcycle it's nice to feel in control!

I like getting my nails done these days because it's with a young girl who has her own salon in a garden room thing, no pressure, no noise, no queuing! I go every 3 weeks and it's a nice treat.

I also hate the hairdressers but I'm going on Friday to have all of my hair cut off into a bob! The mounjaro has killed my hair and my ponytail is so scraggly and thin now so I need a fresh start. I'm nervous! Here's what I'm having done (the cut and the dye);

I love the hairdresser's!

Mine comes to my house every four weeks. It's a treat.

I also dye it myself every three weeks.

My legs are finally and definitely getting thinner, especially from the knees down to the ankles (which is where I wanted to see a difference).

This has been happening since I started taking diosmin.

OP posts:
Fffreeeeezing · 08/03/2026 14:24

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOnetell me about the Diosmin…….. just googled it and am wondering if I should give it a try. My legs are still abnormally chunky (in comparison to the rest of me, I’m not expecting miracles at my stage of weight loss!) and I have awful circulation in my legs due to an auto immune condition I had about 10 years ago (Vasculitis) that did all kinds of damage to my blood vessels at the time. Do you have a link to the ones you take?

MrTiddlesTheCat · 08/03/2026 14:27

I've just ordered a vibration plate to try and improve circulation and reduce swelling.
