Here’s my nearly 7 stone update on Nutracheck:

I literally can’t believe in 4lb I’ll start with a 14. Feels unbelievable.

Well done @PearlsTeapot, that is so inspirational! There’s a few of us at a similar place loss wise, so I’m hoping I’ll be joining the 7st club in the next few weeks. Currently on 6st 9lb gone and weighing tomorrow. I started a couple of stone heavier than you but we’re both bossing this!

These figures are mind blowing really, but what new starters need to remember is that they are made up of lots of small losses. I know when I started I was actually intimidated by those who had lost multiple stones, but this is possible if you just give yourself time.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/03/2026 18:18

Well done @PearlsTeapot

Are you going to carry on when you reach 12st?

I'm only asking because I've moved the goalposts myself as I've gone on.

I was thrilled to get to a size 14, and hadn't considered going on with it, but I figured, why not - and it wasn't really too difficult.

I mean, yes, it started to take ages to lose anything, but it was consistent.

I kept having plateaus, but then there would be a whoosh.

I'm due a whoosh soon IMO 🤣

@PearlsTeapot and @TheZingyFish what fabulous loses, well done! I’m 4 stone down on MJ but 5.5 stone from heaviest and can see the difference now. 2 of my adult dc are coming home for Easter I wonder if they notice, not seen them since Christmas 😂

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/03/2026 18:25

I've created the next thread slightly early, having completely forgotten to create this one in time.

Let's finish this one first, but the next one is RIGHT HERE

Evening losers!

I have been doing an appalling job of keeping up with the thread so no doubt have missed all sorts of news. Great to see folk making progress!

I am now 6st 11lb down 🥳 I’ve set my goal tentatively at 11st which is the top end of a healthy BMI for me but I’m not really too fussed about getting there. My interim goal is 13st 3lb to tip into “overweight” and I am genuinely excited about that one. Only 1st 3lb to go now. Happy Scales thinks I’m about 8 weeks or so away from there.

Also some good NSVs recently. I went to the hairdresser the other day and fit in the horrible rigid arm chairs with room to spare. I had started to avoid going at least partly because I was on the very edge of fitting into them at all.

Went to Edinburgh Zoo yesterday. Lots of Scots on this thread so I imagine quite a few of you have been and are familiar with The Hill. Certainly it was a damn sight easier with nearly 7st less to carry up it and I got up to the giraffes at the top without thinking I would have a massive heart attack! Still need to work on my fitness generally though as it remains poor.

Onwards and downwards!

PearlsTeapot · 22/03/2026 18:37

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I’m sure I'll want to keep going when I get to 12 stone! I just picked that as my target because it's 10 stone which felt unreachable at the start line but now I feel it could happen for me.

Hope this week brings a whoosh for you!

@TheZingyFish you're nearly there too, that's so exciting! 100lb loss feels magnificent doesn't it. But yes you're absolutely right, it's made up of so many small wins, I celebrated every week even the half pound losses as they all add up.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 22/03/2026 18:39

Great progress @PearlsTeapot , have you been ok from the side effects on 5mg? I think we have been similar in the past with being really sensitive to dose increases. I’m on my second week trying 4.5mg (again) and feel really queasy, I only went up 0.25mg! Fingers crossed it’s just nausea this week as last week was the full works 🙄 oh well, I guess it’s cheaper this way sticking on the lower pens!

I feel like I’m following you, I’m at 15 st 6.5 from 22st start, got 7 st loss in my sights!

PearlsTeapot · 22/03/2026 18:40

@FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping that reminded me that I broke a chair in the hairdressers once, the arm snapped off, and I never went back to the hairdressers again. When I went two weeks ago to get my hair chopped off I didn't even look at the chair for more than a second and knew I'd be fine. These NSVs are worth a million bucks to me.

I haven't been to the zoo yet even though I'm dying to buy DW the penguin experience because I'm too scared of the hill! It's a definite goal for when I am fitter. Well done you for going and enjoying yourself.

TragicMuse · 22/03/2026 20:15

I’m also holding 7st in my sights. It’s 3lb away. And I want it SO MUCH!

I did a 5km sponsored walk on Friday and it’s hit my hip quite hard. Not impossibly so but it’s twinge-y and sore. It would be a lot more painful if I still weighed 19st…

PearlsTeapot · 22/03/2026 20:35

So many of us are around the 7 stone/ 100lb mark!

Doggymummar · 23/03/2026 06:50

Remembered to weigh. Haven jabbed tho. Back to weighting everything and I managed to lose 1.2lb after seeing how much over I was on Monday Tuesday I got it back nder control. Back to the weight I was on 16 th Feb, so that's better.

TragicMuse · 23/03/2026 08:56

Another overnight gain. FFS! I have been under calories - I weigh and measure like a woman possessed!

dammit.

MCR24 · 23/03/2026 09:29

I've put on all the weight I lost last week which is annoying hoping it'll be gone by Thursday when I have to write it down

Springflowers2 · 23/03/2026 11:39

So today's weight is 16 stone 6
Finally lost a pound ,but no doubt it will go back on by tomorrow,as per usual
So top end of healthy weight for me ... BMI 24 is 12 stone 5
Overweight bmi is 12 stone 6
As I'm 5 foot 10 .
Omg I was only thinking of getting to 14 stone
Noooo..
I hate BMI
I can remember being 13 stone ( briefly )as a teen ,I was boney ..ugh

Springflowers2 · 23/03/2026 11:46

If BMI is so out dated ,I wonder why they don't change it ..
That feels so out of reach for me

SilenceInside · 23/03/2026 12:05

BMI isn't outdated, it's just a really simple calculation that's a reasonable approximation for body fat percentage, for the large majority of people. The exceptions being very athletic people at the top end, or very elderly/unwell people at the low end.

Rather than get rid of it, it can be helpful to add in additional measures like waist to height ratio (https://www.nhs.uk/health-assessment-tools/calculate-your-waist-to-height-ratio) or waist to hip ratio (https://www.diabetes.co.uk/waist-to-hip-ratio-calculator.html)

@Springflowers2 I wouldn't think about whether getting below 14 stone is achievable or realistic right now, it's a thought process for when you are approaching that boundary. I would then consider your waist/height and waist/hip ratio at that point as well, and see where you are in terms of those measures in combination with your BMI.

At some point, I'd like to get a DEXA scan and have as accurate a measure of my body fat and muscle mass as possible, but they are expensive!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 23/03/2026 12:24

Trip over your own feet and shatter your shoulder, elbow and wrist and you'll get a DEXA scan for free.

SilenceInside · 23/03/2026 12:32

Not sure that’s the kind of plan I’d want to try @MrTiddlesTheCat! Was it to check bone density?

This is so true, I wanted to write something similar but you expressed much more articulately than I could!

Yep. It's not a very good plan, unless you have easy access to all the opiates you can eat. But it's the only one I could come up with.

TragicMuse · 23/03/2026 12:53

Interesting about waist:height Vs waist:hip.

I’m inside the range for waist:hip!

Hurrah for one thing being where it ‘should’ be!

I've got loads of Co-Codamol 30/500mg, so if one of you will pop to Argyll to look after my cats, I'll try out @MrTiddlesTheCat's suggestion.

Trust me, that wouldn't even touch the sides. You'd need the hard stuff. Oxycodone, which is double the strength of morphine, barely registered.

But I'll look after your cats anyway. 😁😻
