I had a friend that had private surgery - the take out for me was that he got 4 pairs of Ted Stockings one to wash one to dry and one to wear and a spare!!! 🤣

I’m happy this morning!! I have looked at the comparative prices and although getting MJ again is a big payment out in one go if I buy 2x 15mg pens on the credit card then taking account my current dose and the golden dose (I am conveniently and completely ignoring there might not be one!! 🫣🫣🫣) then it actually is justifiable as doesn’t work out much more weekly the wegovy!!

I’m hoping I’d only have to do this a couple of times max and I’ll be done along with my current stock so have discussed with dp and going for it!!!

I could cry with relief!!! So terrified of it all going wrong after coming so far!!! As still so far to go!!!

dc82 · 01/10/2025 13:00

Well done on reaching your target @MyScaredCat! I’m glad you’re not waiting too long for the surgery. Hopefully you’ll feel better real soon and then you can enjoy all those smaller clothes in peace!

SutekhsEars · 01/10/2025 13:36

@Seahorsesplendour don't forget to budget for titrating back down. I think slow titration is probably key to not putting the weight back on.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 01/10/2025 13:47

That's great news @Seahorsesplendour!

Did someone else mention heartburn recently? Was it only in relation to hot drinks? I seem to be getting heartburn all the time now. I've actually had the same box of gaviscon in the bathroom cabinet for months and was marvelling at it because pre-MJ I had so much bad indigestion, and suddenly it's back.

That was me - sorry you're getting it too. It's especially bad with hot drinks...but I just had beans on toast for lunch and I'm clutching my chest after it.

Frustrating!!

tostaky · 02/10/2025 07:56

Good luck with surgery @MyScaredCat let us know how it went

no heartburn for me but really really dry mouth since i have started on MJ. Two days ago my mouth was so dry my gums started bleeding out of nowhere. I properly freaked out! Im going to book an appointment with hygienist. I do drink approx 2 liters a day of water during the day and some during the night but obv thats not enough. I do chew gum to help but only on my car commute as i think it is t pretty in fromt of others.. i flossed last night for the 1st time in eons! Not sure if that helped or did more damage….

edited to add: NSV: wearing a lovely dress today in size 12 :)

PinkScot · 02/10/2025 11:24

Morning losers!
im doing rubbish this week with a pesky virus, feel dodgy and I’m sure it’s not my jab as I’ve been on the same dose now three months! Anyway I am cosoling myself with the facts I have lost another pound yippee and I’ve got only 9 pounds to go to goal now! Plus I go on holiday a week from today woo hoo a sunshine break with lots of lovely size 14 clothes to wear. Last minute I have bought two new cossies from Next and I absolutely love them. They have a shelf inside which you sit your boobs on and they make my boobs look ten years younger 😂😂.

I showed my DDs the costume on and they were stunned, I don’t think they had genuinely taken on board how much I have lost (39 pounds).
so happy bunny although feeling crappy…my main aim is to not gain any weight on my all inclusive but as I no longer drink should be easier. I’m thinking stick to salads most meals and the odd ice cream 🍨☺️.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 02/10/2025 12:06

Gone a bit off track this week, by which I mean I've fallen off the wagon well and truly. It doesn't feel like self-sabotage, I just want to eat really tasty food. I suppose it's not the end of the world but I hope I go back to my salads soon.

MyScaredCat · 02/10/2025 12:50

@PinkScot i need a shelf for my boobs 😆 i must check out next before my holiday next month

SaintAgatha · 02/10/2025 13:49

Right, I’ve had a bit of a revelation this morning and I’m aware it sounds egotistical so please bear with me. Caveat all of this by saying I’m fairly average in looks!

I was getting ready this morning and suddenly realised that I’ve been getting somewhat more attention from the opposite sex whilst out and about. I’d noticed this previously but had put it down to the fact that I was generally feeling better about life and smiling a lot more. However, as I was brushing my teeth today I realised that this might also be because I’ve lost weight. I’ve lost 4 stone thanks to MJ and am on target to drop another 2.

It’s made me feel a bit weird? Like, sad that I was clearly invisible when I was at my heaviest, but also like I’m a bit of a twat for assuming that’s what it is. All a bit complicated. Anyway, hope you don’t mind me sharing here.

tostaky · 02/10/2025 14:35

@SaintAgatha unfortunately i think this is the reality… it is quite sad

PinkScot · 02/10/2025 14:52

@SaintAgatha omg yes my friend and I were talking about this, we have both had this happen and we thought it was our age (that we were not getting any attention etc) but no now we have both lost weight and suddenly!!! I have to say though it does seem to be in my case elderly men (I'm 55 lol). I'm always getting talked at in Lidl now :)

SutekhsEars · 02/10/2025 14:59

I'm still feeling like crap so I thought I'd distract myself by trying on some old clothes. My beautiful vintage ted baker skirt does up, although it's still too tight to wear - last time I wore this was the previous millennium! My ankle length denim skirt bought in a street market in KL during my backpacking years just fits!
I thought I'm slimmer, even though my weight hasn't dropped. Happy days.
No male attention for me though, thank goodness. I have resting grumpy-fucker face, so that scares men off.

SutekhsEars · 02/10/2025 15:04

Idle ramblings of a person with very painful sinuses...
Do you remember back in school science lessons, there was an experiment where you melted an ice cube and measured its temperature? As far as I recall (and it was 40 years ago for me) the temperature changed for a couple of minutes, but the solidity stayed the same, then it's solidity changed but the temperature stayed the same. Weight loss feels a bit like that - you lose cms, then you lose kgs, then cms again etc, but not both at the same time.
Maybe I just need some more painkillers....

SaintAgatha · 02/10/2025 15:17

@tostaky I guess because I was in a relationship for many years and dated briefly after it ended, I wasn’t really aware of anyone else’s attention, if you see what I mean. Glad that I was oblivious to it.

SaintAgatha · 02/10/2025 15:19

@PinkScot I think I just hadn’t thought about it because I was in the trenches bringing DC up, then after my relationship with their Dad ended I dated for a bit and I guess in that way, everything stayed the same. It’s only now I’m single AND thinner that it seems to be a thing. Wow. Maybe I should start hanging around Lidl more often! 😅

tostaky · 02/10/2025 18:19

@SutekhsEars love the analogy with the ice cube experiment- it does feel like it at times!
and well done on your NSV!

Seahorsesplendour · 02/10/2025 20:06

@SutekhsEars i love the NSV’s I comfortably got into a pair of lovely dark green cords that didn’t do up a month ago last weekend and it’s just such a good feeling!!! I feel like each time it happens it replaces an old horrid memory of yet another new item of clothing that doesn’t fit!! 😅by our resting grumpy fucker face made me laugh!!!

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 03/10/2025 07:35

I had another great week of weightloss. I'm really loving 7.5, seems to be the sweet spot for me. .This week, I'm down 1.6kg/3.5lbs.

I had 2 more mini achievements this week, I am now below 90 kg and I lost 20kg in total.

I'm 1lbs away from being 50% towards my target and 4lbs away from moving from obese to overweight.
It's my birthday in 10 days and I'm over the moon with the changes I made in the last 5 months. There is definitely something to celebrate 🎉

dc82 · 03/10/2025 07:52

That’s amazing @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal - well done!

SussexLass87 · 03/10/2025 08:50

A hard earned loss of 2lbs this week...my body has really fought me recently!

Annoyingly I'm now back to where I was a month ago, but still, it's the lightest I've been in years.

Got my littlest at home ill today so it's going to be a cuddling up and the sofa then some baking later if he feels up to it. Pouring with rain here and nowhere to be, except handing out Calpol and tissues.

Happy Friday all x

FlorenceNightshade · 03/10/2025 09:39

I’ve ended up jabbing late this week - was a Tuesday then a Thursday and now I’m a Friday gal!

So just had jab 21 - stuck at 3.75mg again.

No loss this week and I was annoyed but remembered I’ve just joined the gym again this week (too dark for my morning runs now!) and have been going at random times so not in a new routine yet!

SW 92.9kg BMI 30
First GW 75kg
GW 67.4kg
CW 69.4kg. BMI 22.4

So 2kgs until goal! Total loss in 20 weeks of 23.5kg/50lbs/3 stone! I’m really hoping to reach goal with this pen and then move on to maintenance but the last few kgs have been stubborn so will have to wait and see!

Amazing losses and NSVs on the thread lately it’s so inspiring to me how committed we all are to being our healthiest selves! Yes life gets in the way at times and none of us are perfect I’m sure but we’re still putting ourselves first and that’s not easy!!!

Onwards and downwards ✌️

Well done Panda & Florence.
Enjoy the cuddles Lass, hope your wee one feels better soon.

ElsieJay · 03/10/2025 11:19

Well done to all the losers , the maintainers and the near-to-target -ers !
And congratulations on the NSVs, it’s great when you can rediscover a much loved item of clothing, or splurge on a whole new outfit.
I really need to declutter my wardrobes, there are things in there that haven’t seen daylight for five ten years and aren’t going to come back into style any time soon in my lifetime.

Weighed at WW this morning , 1.5lbs down which I’m happy with. Takes me down to the next stone bracket, and more than halfway to target. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.
Next week I have two meals out , my birthday and ( whoopee ! ) a Spa Day , so will be as good as I can. The spa has beautiful gardens and backs on to open fields, hoping for a dry day so we can have a good walk before lunch, and an afternoon of pampering .
Can you tell I’m looking forward to it ……
Onwards and downwards !

notgonnafail · 03/10/2025 12:01

Ooh, spa day in a lovely place sounds perfect! I am jealous @ElsieJay

Hope little one feels better soon @SussexLass87

Well done to all with losses and being close to goals! I am still so far away from mine and am beginning to worry I may never make it!

Having a little panic, as it hit me just how much MJ I have stockpiled from buying on time but staying on a very low dose. I can't afford to buy anymore until they run out in January so have had to 'fess up to check prescriber will let me reorder at the right dose with such a big gap!
