I love your spreadsheet, @DidILeaveTheGasOnit’s a thing of beauty. Well done on your progress

HKG · 13/09/2025 08:46

I feel like this is a really stupid question to be asking 4 months into this, but can someone tell me of increasing your dosage will increase your rate of loss?

I’ve been losing pretty steadily 2lbs a week (give or take a blip or two) on 5mg. But I have two 7.5 pens in the fridge and not sure if I can afford anymore after these. Obviously I’d like as much weight off as possible before I have to come off.

so should I go up to 7.5 in order to lose faster? Thank you fellow losers!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/09/2025 08:53

@HKG I don't believe Mounjaro increases your metabolism, I can find multiple sources suggesting it affects the metabolism but nothing saying it increases it. It suppresses the appetite and helps to keep blood sugar more stable, but if each increased dose increased our metabolism we'd probably all be on 15mg with metabolisms like finely tuned engines.

I think the reason to move up a dose is if the appetite suppression / not feeling full for as long has dropped. It sounds like 5mg is working well for you so I'm not sure moving up to 7.5mg will put a rocket under your weight loss.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/09/2025 08:55

@lifetheuniverseandeverything42 Thank you so much! Loads of gorgeous dresses!

HKG · 13/09/2025 08:58

@DidILeaveTheGasOn thank you for sharing your research! I get quite boggles by reading different sources so that really helps.

yes, that follows, it would be great if it did increase our metabolisms and we could get there faster but that makes sense. I think perhaps counting clicks on there 7.5s would be a better bet to make them last longer. (And asking for an MJ pen for Christmas??? 🤣)

Seahorsesplendour · 13/09/2025 09:11

Morning all!!!

@HKG if you’re getting good suppression etc I’d stick and make it last longer! I’m now on 10mg and my weight loss is slower than on the lower doses when I first started but needed to go up as suppression & food noise just wear off after 5-6 weeks at each dose so I then struggle much more!

I’m please this morning though this weeks loss takes me to only 5lb to go until my original target which back in May seemed impossible I would ever get there let alone any further!!!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn no help at all about dresses dorry but how exciting to be looking!!!! Now if you’d asked about where to get comfortable leggings from and baggy jumpers … 😂🤣😂. I’m having a little get together at ours tomorrow for a family bday and I’m hoping to wear a top I dug out of loft last week ! So 🤞🏻🤞🏻

hope everyone has a great day!!!

@Seahorsesplendour wow! Congrats! What a fabulous and satisfying visual as well! Thank you for sharing too - I think you’re right, making it last longer is probs better.

i am inspired by you and all the other wonderful peeps in here!

dc82 · 13/09/2025 09:25

Hi everyone!

Bit of an update on where I’m at…..I’ve now lost 3 stone since beginning of May and my bmi has gone from 31 to 23! That’s a) insane and b) amazing!

I’m still adjusting mentally to the change - the brain seems to be the slowest to catch on. I’d also like to add that everyone on here has helped me realise that we all have these complex thoughts around food and body image and I’m not alone with this and that we are all on the same journey and it’s going to have ups and downs - it’s helped a lot, so thank you!

For anyone that wants the info this was mainly done on 2.5 and in the last few weeks on 3.75. It’s meant I’ve managed to really eke out all my pens and I’m now onto my 4th and final pen. It’s a 5mg and I’ve gone back to 2.5mg (so technically should keep me going titrating for 10 doses total) and I also plan to extend jab days from 7 to 10. I’m hoping the combined approach will allow me to stabilise and get used to the return of all the food noise (its already been increased the past couple of days) and give me stabilisers for the future. Its certainly very tempting to stay on this and also lose more( think the losing is addictive or maybe that’s just me) so I’ve had to have a word with myself on that - my weight is good and all I really need is toning and exercise so that is my new focus.

Im not disappearing and hope it’s ok for me to stay on here! 😊

tostaky · 13/09/2025 09:39

Well done on all the losses and sorry to hear about all that are struggling with stubborn weight (including me). The change of season is probably having an impact on our eating habit and metabolism (suddenly i need to wrap yp and keep warm!)
i keep receiving emails from different providers about my next order but it is so expensive! And september with the return to school etc has been an expensive month. Not sure if i can delay my next order until next payday and still order the next dose up….
i love to ever Faune dress! Very classy 😊

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/09/2025 09:49

@lifetheuniverseandeverything42 I just got the ever faune dress on vinted for £8! Yes!
September has been ruddy expensive absolutely @tostaky, I've bought stuff for the kids and new basic tops / pjs for me, and skincare that I definitely do not need. I do like my lotions and potions though.

Apprenante · 13/09/2025 09:51

The dresses that people have identified all look beautiful @DidILeaveTheGasOn. When I replan my wardrobe in a few stones time I won't go to a personal shopper, I'll just ask on here!

Are you inspired now?

HereIGoOnceMore · 13/09/2025 10:23

I’ve lost a pound overnight, so am back on track. I’ve also been brave enough to finally weigh myself with my clothes on, and by just dragging the scales out from under the cupboard, not chasing the sweet spot on the bathroom floor. And my BMI is still below 25. Oh my - who am I?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/09/2025 18:41

Sorted through the boxes I retrieved from the cellar of doom. Two of my jackets fit! But a lot of the clothes seemed like they belonged to a different person. I think I've aged a lot in the 4 years since they fit. I've donated two boxes' worth. The remaining box is full of size 10-12 and I'm probably a year off them fitting, if they ever do. So back in the cellar they will go, along with my clothes that are too big.

Which leaves me with... not very much to choose from.

ElsieJay · 14/09/2025 13:19

Lots of gorgeous dresses to choose from, @DidILeaveTheGasOn - and congratulations on braving the spidery cellar.
Huge well done to @Seahorsesplendour and @dc82 - and commiserations to those on the frustrating plateau.
Week 1 of hols went well, appetite-wise, this second jabless week more of a struggle.
Found protein shakes in Lidl, so that’s breakfast, then trying to have either lunch or dinner rather than both.
Will return to UK Tuesday evening, one dose in a 2.5 pen waiting in the fridge, and another 2.5 and a 5 also. Not sure which to have first, will see what Friday’s WW weigh-in reveals.
Ready now to come home, embrace Autumn and get back on the wagon, feels like the wheels are wobbling at the minute.
Onwards and downwards , and totes protes all the way !

Gingercar · 14/09/2025 14:30

I wouldn’t get too excited about autumn just yet, it’s gone freezing and wet! I’m standing in my coffee trailer and I’m cold. Bring us some sun back!

Oh dear, I was hoping for more of a Keats vision of autumn, rain AND cold wasn’t part of the plan!
We’ve been lucky with the weather, hot enough to enjoy but cooler at night so haven’t needed the air conditioning.
Will make the most of the next 36 hours !

Apprenante · 14/09/2025 15:23

Enjoy your days of warmth @ElsieJay! I'm freezing here in London. I really need to rethink what I'm wearing and possibly buy some nice cosy jumpers.

SutekhsEars · 14/09/2025 15:23

My suppression has worn off. ☹️
I've moved up from 2.5 to 3 this week, but it hasn't helped. I'm trying to concentrate on water & protein, but it's not working. Ggrrr!

tostaky · 15/09/2025 09:29

@SutekhsEarsi was the same, i have now moved to 5mg and it is much better.
New me went to a meeting on a bike this morning (7 mins one way)! New me, will do this twice a week from now on! And new me will take the non-electric bike once she is familiar with the route! It is not a lot, but old me used to do a slightly longer journey every day on a normal bike. New me is glad, old me is encouraging her to do it. Also it is really nice that someone has put cycle lane every where! It feels safer.
between new me and old me there was a me that was a bit overwhelmed with everything (change of career, 3 kids with SEN) and lost her way. I hope new me and old me will help her find her way again!
Happy monday everyone!

HereIGoOnceMore · 15/09/2025 09:45

Happy Monday tostaky. It’s too easy to ignore our own needs when so much else is going on isn’t it? Well done for letting old you out, and keep on keeping on.

MyScaredCat · 15/09/2025 13:06

I think I’m over with MJ now and not in a few weeks as planned.
some of you may remember last month I had a couple of awful days with pain in my side (I suspected gallbladder area).
it eased and I stuck my head in the sand and carried on. I can’t ignore it any longer. It’s a niggle that always present, not painful enough to stop my day to day, but I shouldn’t be ignoring it.
ive just been to see a go and done a blood test. I’ll get results tomorrow. Hopefully nothing serious and easily fixed, but I’d be daft to use the last few 2.5 doses just in case.
i lost 3 stone and, while another 5-7lbs would be ideal, I’m happy where I am.
maintenance here I come 🤞🏻

(Still obviously going to lurk here and cheer you all on)

ElsieJay · 15/09/2025 13:36

@MyScaredCat - yes, I certainly remember you being in pain and I’m very glad you’ve been to the GP and started investigations.
It may take a while to get a diagnosis - my painful side (over 30 years ago now ) turned out to be mesenteric vein thrombosis, which certainly wasn’t suspected at the outset.
Thinking of you ,and hoping you get some answers soon.
And huge congratulations on the 3 stone loss, which is a bonus for your future health and wellbeing! 💐 xx
