Well done @LilyLondon 🎉I hit goal 3 (I think)😂 today, 8st, done now, bought clothes to celebrate, so over and out it is,

TheBossOfMe · 07/11/2025 13:28

Pleased to see so many of you reaching goals and logging NSVs. Everyone is making progress in their own timeframe, but progress is progress. This is such a lovely supportive place - we all celebrate each others wins, and encourage each other so beautifully.

A week back from holiday and I've lost most of the holiday weight - am back at 2lb below goal (which seems to be a set weight for me rather than my goal weight). Coming up to 5 months since hitting goal and 2 months since I last jabbed, and maintenance is going OK.

I've had lots of nice dinners out recently, but I've been mindful about what I ordered and how much I ate, and it seems to be a workable strategy. I went to a very, very nice Michelin star restaurant last night, but ordered fish for my starter, only ate half of my very nice duck main, and had a few spoonfuls of pudding. Which was plenty to leave me feeling satiated - I'm focusing a lot on the mouth/tastebud senses I get from food, because that gives me a really nice dopamine hit without making me want to overeat.

Exercise is a bit hit and miss because super busy at work, but my skin is definitely catching up now, bingo wings have almost gone, stomach and neck slowly looking less crepey. So I have hope that in a few months it'll look ok.

mumofmanydaughterofone · 07/11/2025 18:53

Weigh in today and stayed 150lb. Thank I might set aim to between 140 and 145 to give me a bit of space when I come off
Bit sad as my mum informed me she'd found a photo of me from last year and threw it away as I was so fat in it - she has no filter and is quite judgy on people's size but I don't think I realised how much worth she puts in being slim - I massively emphasised I was doing this for health but still.... Knocks your confidence. I love her to bits but she is a child of her time!

RuthEvershedforPM · 07/11/2025 21:54

hello all

checking back in after a few weeks. I have been skulking and sulking having had 1.3kg to go for ages now. So bloody close.

I wanted to keep going until goal( but alas need an emergency root canal which costs about 3 months worth of jabs and can’t have it all 😭😭

RuthEvershedforPM · 07/11/2025 21:56

when I first started this journey I was really disciplined with protein and healthy eating. The last month or so have been really sloppy, just eating when I can be arsed. If coming off jabs will have to properly get my shit together

I have been dreadful since I came down to 5mg then 2.5mg, eating shit, drinking loads. I have two left of my 2,5 and I’ve ordered a 5 to go back up! I’m thinking of doing my last 2 2.5 doses to make a 5 next, before I switch back to my 5mg pen -do you think that’s ok?

it’s made me realise I have a broken relationship with food, or hunger, or something, because the MJ has definitely helped me behave more “normally” around food

RuthEvershedforPM · 08/11/2025 08:31

@Outsidebeanshop i have no idea whether it’s ’okay’ I do think giving yourself the best chance to get good habits in is wise.

i was doing so well, but insane amounts of busy -ness and being able to stay the same with jab alone had made me sloppy.

Really need to sort it out :(

Aboutmeabouttime · 08/11/2025 10:36

@mumofmanydaughterofone Sorry that your mum’s actions made you feel sad. Sounds like she has issues of her own, try not to let it dim your successes and pride for taking control of your health x

Seems we are a mixed bag at the moment - successes and struggles…. Hope people can find ways through.

I’ve officially lost 3st now, been a slow burn this last few months (as my graph suggests!) but got there. Want to build a bit of a buffer and will only contemplate coming off in Jan I think, whole journey has been on 2.5mg. I moved to Pharmulous no trouble with BMI of 25, now 24.5…. Need to exercise :/ lack motivation is an understatement!!

Thankfully last weeks little 1lb gain has been shed along with an extra pound.

2 lb loss this week

SW: 20st
CW: 15st7
GW: 11st7

so Thats 4 and a half stone lost now. It’s a relatively slow rate of loss now but it is at least fairly consistent. I’m still feeling positive but am considering upping my dose a little. I’m on 8mg currently.

RuthEvershedforPM · 08/11/2025 17:44

@mumofmanydaughterofone - sorry about your mum. Mine was foul to me growing up about my weight (I was 8stone).

I’d say she is possibly the ONLY person I know who hasn’t made even vague reference to my weight loss 😂😂😂 there is NO WAY she hasn’t noticed. Even casual acquaintances say ‘oh you look well’ it’s 35% of my weight

its great you are doing it for you and for health

Yetanotherusername2000 · 08/11/2025 20:47

Bloody hell, the loose skin sagging on my yoga downwards dog today freaked me out!! Any advice??

soupforbrains · 08/11/2025 20:58

Ah there are a lot of mums out there responsible for a lot of us having shitty relationships with food. Mine when I told her I had lost 4 stone recently, raised an eyebrow, looked me up and down and said ‘really?’ 🙄 I learned years and years ago that it’s not worth my energy or emotions to give weight to any of her nonsense.

Puddingpiper · 08/11/2025 21:14

It is interesting how relationships around food are formed by parents, families and sometimes just one throw away comment. I’m lucky that my mum is relatively sane when it comes to food, not so sane when it comes to living more than three miles away, she confuses 30 minute duo the road with emigrating to NZ (she is still fit, active and drives).

Now ex MIL on the other hand utter fruit loop, her shining moment was walking into my kitchen and saying ‘wow you’re even fatter than (then) DP, suppose it has been close for a while.’ Then got confused when I walked out with DC and refused to return until she left. Ex DP has an atrocious relationship with food and even though he likes majority of food will live off beige, pizza, crisps as that is what he was brought up on (not due to money issues, ex MIL is tight - vegetables are expensive don’t you know, shouldn’t be wasting money).

Same - do you want to try and help each other break the habits? Don’t ask me how though 🤣

Bipaloss · 09/11/2025 12:13

Hello all,

it’s now 23 days since my last high dose (14mg) and 5 days since last dose (3mg) .

hunger not as bad this week and also getting more used to it, understanding more when I actually need to eat vs wanting to eat. Portion sizes remains manageable and still limited on snacking .

scale bounces a lot up and down on a daily basis based on what I eat , but currently at 1lb gain on top of my lowest weight, BMI 28 and loss of 4.5 st maintained

Ingangoolie · 09/11/2025 16:36

@Bipaloss sounds good, getting used to what you need, bravo 👏

@Outsidebeanshop and @RuthEvershedforPM habits have gotta be it. I’m relieved that have clicked back in to habits after holiday and it’s got me back on track, but I’m still jabbing, not yet experienced life after MJ.

SW 13st 3lb
CW 9st 9.5lb
GW 9st
put on 3lb on holiday and 10 days later have lost that and another pound. Back into usual eating patterns, IF, gym and taking 2.5mg every 6 or 7 days.

Fatmumslim01 · 09/11/2025 18:45

Haven't been on here for a few days but can anyone advise on nausea? I know nausea is a normal and common side effect of MJ but as I've literally had no side effects (other than rhe infamous bubble tea incident the less said about that the better 🤢) this nausea has caught me off guard

I'm on my 4th week of 10mg and for about a week now so probably since week 3 I feel so nauseous every time I eat. Each meal time I'm like oh no not again. Even looking at pictures of food eg when ordering online food shop make me feel sick.

I'm mainlining mints and peppermint tea as normal tea makes me feel sick I think it's the milk. It's like morning sickness like a constant background nausea but I am absolutely 💯 not pregnant. I'm having to stand outside ok the fresh air after every meal so I feel a bit better

I don't want to go down to 7.5 as it was like injecting water.

Has anyone else had this and how did it resolve?

I had this first 4 weeks of 12.5 (was on 12.5 total of 10 weeks) . Eventually went away . Try eating little and often and avoid foods that are heavy on stomach like fatty and greasy food

BeaTwix · 10/11/2025 20:28

Sorry you are struggling with nausea. It sounds horrible.

I've got to my very significant mini-goal of <110kg!

I also looked at my work uniform and think I probably need to try the next size down.... exciting!

On holiday next week (France) - could be interesting as I love food and obviously there will be lots of nice stuff!

Yellowsubmarine55 · 11/11/2025 18:06

@Fatmumslim01 I find nausea is usually caused by not eating or drinking enough so little and often is best.

Quick update from me, a whopping 2.4lbs off this week taking me to a total loss of 4 stone 8lb 🎊🎊🎊

I think it must be from the increase in exercise. I'm loving it and am even jogging for a bit. I'd have laughed at you if you had said this would be me today.

Happy days

Ingangoolie · 11/11/2025 18:06

@Fatmumslim01 that sounds horrible, you can’t be getting much in you. Maybe bring it down to 8.75mg and see how that is? If you can eat a bit, eat protein first to give you some nourishment.

@BeaTwix well done on goal!!

Fatmumslim01 · 11/11/2025 19:01

Thanks all for the well wishes re my nausea. Happy to report that it has disappeared today pretty much although tea is still making me feel a bit sick but I do love my tea so I'm ploughing on through what a trooper 😂

Had an appointment for something non weight related today and the doctor was saying how wonderful mj is and how well I've done to lose just over 3 stone in 7 months 🙂 I think it's 3stone2 now!

Buscake · 12/11/2025 07:39

I hit goal yesterday and felt … weirdly deflated. I’m not sure where to go from here and what to do next. I still have a jab at 12.5mg to do tomorrow and then my next pen will be 10. I assume I will lose a little more but I feel very scared about maintaining and how I will manage this. Whether it will work or not.

Height 167cm/5ft6
SW 96.1kg
CW/GW 64.9kg
BMI from 34.5 to 23.3

Congrats on hitting goal

although I didn’t hit goal I went down doses quickly due to personal circumstances and have so far managed to maintain , so don’t be too scared of it .

highest dose 14 mg (1 dose after 9 weeks on 12.5)
7 mg 9 days after
3 mg 9 days after
i was starving during the first few days of 7mg but has since settled . I’m now 1 week post last jab and bouncing plus minus 2 lb since 14mg (25 days ago)

I eat when hungry and needed , limit snacking and keep portions small . If I feel like eating something I try to eat food rather than unhealthy snacks, some days I eat some days I eat less.

TheBossOfMe · 12/11/2025 08:33

@Buscake - congratulations, and I know what you mean about feeling deflated, there was definitely a dopamine kick from seeing the scales move! If helpful, I'l repeat what I said upthread about how I managed the move to maintenance:

I was on 7.5mg when I reached goal weight, which I took as a split dose of 5mg and 2.5mg on day 1 and day 4.

First dropped the second 2.5mg, so 2 weeks on 5mg only

Then extended time between jabs so 2 jabs of 5mg every 14 days

Then titrated down again to 2.5mg every 14 days and stayed on that for 2 months

Then down to 1.25mg 14 days later (I think, slightly lost count of weeks)

And then stopped completely.

What that did was allow me to get gradually used to the slow return of hunger, not feeling so full, and having a lot more food noise. Because it does come back - and I've had to train my brain to cope with it, learn strategies for dealing with it, and not get derailed by it.

The not feeling so full thing is fine, I didn't really enjoy that anyway!

The return of hunger pangs is a bit harder - that has taken a lot of willpower not to give in (I do IF so the hunger is real!). I have healthy snacks in the fridge (mostly chopped cucumber with lemon and salt on it) that if I really need some mouth sensation I have.

I had to recalculate TDEE and calorie count at the start, but am back to being able to judge ok visually - have kept plate composition fairly similar but upped calories slowly to get to current calorie level.

Weigh daily, religiously.

Exercise daily, even if it's just walking.

So far it's working - have held at goal for 5 months now.
