Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Ooh just realised this is the lightest I’ve been since 1999! And… a whole 8 stone lighter than I was at my heaviest (sometime around late 2011…). Which is more than 50kg off. I can’t remember what reference item / animal weight that is equivalent too, but it will be an awful lot of guinea pigs!

4.5 stone since the end of October 🙂

It's an amazing feeling isn't it? I'm in a size 10 dress today. First time in about 25 years! I've gone from having years go by without a photograph of me because I hated them so much to being happy with myself. I feel lighter in every way!

PinkArt · 27/07/2025 21:27

Cantbesure · 27/07/2025 15:12

Amazing @goldleafcat Well done!!

@PinkArt that’s good the dr has taken it seriously. So are you off MJ now, what’s the plan going forward? Haematology have requested a retest in 4-6 weeks. My white blood cells are raised but my inflammation markers are low so it’s unlikely to be an infection. They can’t be very concerned if they think it can wait a month. Oushk have suggested going into the flexi plan so I can restart MJ once I get the all clear.

Im lucky that I’ve reached my goal, I wouldn’t want to stop half way thru my journey either so I hope you are able to continue. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm off temporarily, in case it is a factor with whatever is going on with my tummy. There's clearly a fair bit in my system still though as I've not suddenly rediscovered my appetite. If I feel better then I should be fine to carry on and I'll drop my dose down a bit as a precaution. Things feel better than they did so I have everything crossed that things will carry on in that direction.
They'd definitely get you in sooner if they were worried about your results. I had bloods taken for something else over a week ago and some of the kidney related levels are out of the normal range - they don't need to see me for over a week about those. In contrast, the first time I had blood clots I got a call within hours of gets bloods taken asking how close to a hospital I was! If it's urgent then they definitely act at speed.

Mounjaropen · 28/07/2025 08:33

Good morning everyone!

It’s been a weekend of booze, boats and banter. I was 132.6lbs on Saturday morning and rather astonishingly I am only 133.0lbs this morning 😅 so I’ll take that! I’m playing in a Tennis match this evening so I’m pvolving early today. Focusing on my bum this week because in the words of The Jackson Five “ I want you back” 😂 Fresh tuna for lunch and back on the sober wagon for the week. My first Oushk order is arriving later so hopefully it’s packed as well as the MedExpress ones! I’ve ordered a 5.0mg pen as I start to taper down….

Less than two weeks to “I do” so final preparations are underway… I’ll be significantly lighter than the last time I said “I do” (to the wrong chap) so happy days!

Wishing everyone a wonderful week 🥰

I hope you are getting better. It’s always worrying as we get older and things don’t run as normal. I spent hours in the car yesterday and was convinced that the pain in my right side was the newly-discovered gallstone grumbling…when the most logical explanation was the fact that any discomfort was most likely to be the result of sitting in the car for hours…I think it’s positive that they are not recalling you immediately about the kidney results - I hope any further tests are just to confirm that all is well

Aww I also bought a size 10 dress on Friday! Loved the feeling. And I bought size S trousers from Zara! (although we all know that the sizing there is questionable 😂)

PinkArt · 25/07/2025 23:15

Thank you. I don't want to jinx it but my tummy feels better than it has, so whatever it was might be passing.
I feel like a proper addict though that I desperately don't want it to be anything that means I need to stop using mounjaro. It's definitely great that I'm 4.5 stone down but I've got nearly 4 to go still and could do with the hand hold for as long as possible.

I think we all need to be confident now that we can muster up enough willpower to go it alone. Especially if we have to. I know how much food I genuinely need to fuel my body for exercise and weight maintenance. I know the sky won’t fall in if there is a bottle of wine in the fridge left open. I know that Cadbury’s will give me a moment of pleasure but will also cause me to make worse choices later in the day. It’s my decision what I choose to do to my body, and I need to nurture it not go back to my old ways of abusing it. I have all of the tools and all of the data I need and with all the support on here, I reckon we can all do this together and without MJ if that is advised. 💪💪💪

@PinkArt I can understand when you've found something that works, you don't want to give it up if you've still got a bit to go. What about just dropping right down to 2.5mg if you start back up?

My hair loss, which seemed to have slowed down, has picked right up. I took my silk hair bobble out yesterday and a load of hair came with it. I'm going to try marine collagen, fingers crossed it doesn't break me out as most do!

Aww fingers crossed. Hair loss is very upsetting so I hope the marine collagen works for you.

Turns out it was catching the tummy bug my DS had - 11 13.6 on the scales this morning. Not how I wanted to get there but I’ll take it 🤷‍♀️😂

Just hope I feel more human soon. DS all better / full of energy, and DH and I are like the walking dead. DS has been nice though, bringing me a bucket and telling me to drink water 🤭

Woohoo for the new stone bracket!

Bad luck catching the bug. Hope you’re feeling better today 💐

My weight is up this morning. Did have wine on Saturday night(but not food) and sushi yesterday, low calorie but loads of soy sauce and I think it’s fair to say salt is my nemesis right now. Need to remember to chug water when I indulge.

On the NSV the size 14 dress I’m wearing gives a great illusion of a flat stomach, I still have a fat apron with wrinkly loose skin, but I can fake it in clothes.
And I need new bras again.

Hope everyone has a good week with friendly scales and tiny clothes.

Thank you. I think dropping back down dose-wise would be the sensible thing to do. I'm lucky that to had suppression from day 1, so would hopefully keep losing on 2.5. I'm only on 6.25 at the moment, so it wouldn't be a huge drop.
Re the hair loss, I've been using a red light hair band from Cult Beauty. I don't know if it's that that's helped, or dropping to a lower dose of anticoagulants, but I've got lots of baby hairs coming through and am barely losing anything now.

That’s very positive @PinkArt

@Invisablepanic Fingers crossed you find a difference. I started taking minoxidil just over a month ago and my hair loss has actually worsened over the last week or so, I am hoping this is the ‘dread shed’ phase they refer to and I am trying to ‘trust the process’ as they say 😕. Am now wondering if I should have just stuck with the nioxin and increasing protein etc alone but have read so many different experiences online. I shall report back in a while to share whether it improves!

(I’ve been taking multivitamins and collagen)

Me too! I was doing a long drive home yesterday and got very uncomfortable down my righthand side..... Gallstones? MJ complications? appendicitis??? should I divert to A&E????? All faded away the moment I got home, stretched out and started getting suitcases etc into the house and upstairs!
Also, I must get out of the mind set that every ache and pain 'must be my fault' for being overweight/on MJ etc.

The festival we went to was a great success, fortunately I took rations as all the food on offer was either deep fried or something in a bun. Stayed at a hotel (I do NOT do camping anymore), food there was dreadful, so didn't eat very much. Strangely the breakfasts were great, lovely fresh fruit, poached eggs and salmon, which set me up for the day. Hotel wine list was also cheap and cheerful, so only a couple of glasses. Hopefully not a bad weekend and I will get closer to my final/maybe not so final target, only 2lb to go......

I am finding 12.5mg a little harder from the SE point of view. 4 days of feeling background nausea, indigestion. As soon as I lose the last 2lb and get to a healthy BMI I will drop back to 10mg. I still would like to lose 3-5 lb more, but happy to take a slower more scenic route.

Although I am obviously overjoyed to be 4.5 stones lighter, I went through my wardrobe and a little sad that so many of my lovely summer dresses are now just too baggy. I am fairly good at easy alterations, but will decide which ones to take to our local dressmaker to see if they can help with the more complicated ones.

Happy Monday everyone!

random223 · 28/07/2025 10:19

Weighing in this week with a stay the same. Did have a weekend of indulgence (the dreaded snacking) though so not a bad outcome. Still BMI: 24.9!

Hope you all have a good week.

Caplin · 28/07/2025 10:42

Morning all, I'm back from two weeks of hols in Hawaii and the US West coast. Well, I've actually been back a week but the jet lag kicked my butt!

I skipped a jab whilst I was away as I wanted to do some justice to the food (which was amazing), and miraculously I only put on 4lbs, which considering we ate out 3 times a day and drank lots of cocktails every day, is a bit of a miracle! To be fair, I upped my jab just before I left and could barely eat for about 4 days! We also walked about 15k steps most days with the exception of a few days in Hawaii.

I've already managed to drop a couple of pounds in the past week, so only 2 lbs up on my lowest weight.

I did treat myself to some nice new clothes whilst I was away as well, stuff you can't buy here, and managed to squeeze into 32in waist levis :-)

Nice to see everyone doing well and enjoying a slimmer summer! Back on the wagon with two stone to go.....hopefully by Christmas!

Off to do a big Vinted upload.......

jay55 · 29/07/2025 11:16

@Caplinsounds like a great time. Great the gain is falling off already.
ill be going off jab for my hols too.

MsRumpole · 29/07/2025 12:49

Hello hello! I've been sitting out MJ because of general disorganisation and anxiety. I'm now back. BACK. With a VENGEANCE.

Rumpole news by category:

For the skincare-oriented amongst us: I'm now layering face and eye serums - Vit C and HA in the morning, retinol and HA in the evening. Game changing.

On the MJ front: I realised, and this is quite a lot to process psychologically, that part of the reason I was avoiding my jabs was that I didn't really want not to want to eat. I KNOW. I took it to therapy and am back on track. I used my last 7.5mg pen to move from 2.5mg back to 7.5mg (it ended up slightly out of date but still seems to have worked, I just couldn't bear to throw it away!). I really hated 7.5mg last time but this time I've got the hang of it and it seems ok. Hopefully onward and upward. I've got a new 7.5mg pen to start next week.

(EDT: I was very prone to forgetting to jab, and I've realised I can fit a sealed sharp in my pillbox, so when I'm taking the rest of my supplements I can also do my jab!)

For the sporty amongst us: I can now deadlift 90kg, which is a husband plus a daughter. Good Lord.

EDT 2: On supplements: I'm 3 days into taking Lion's Mane and I have to admit I think it's making a more-than-placebo difference.

Hope everyone's doing well - glad to be back!

Welcome back! Fab to hear you’re doing well, and wowzers on the deadlifting! That’s incredible!

I’ve got Lion’s Mane and started taking it, then stopped. I should probably start again! What differences have you noticed? Has it helped with mental clarity?

Please could you share which vit C you are using? I need to introduce this into my routine.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 29/07/2025 18:05

Welcome back @MsRumpole . When I read about you deadlifting 'husband + daughter' I felt weak at the knees. That is amazing!
Sounds like you have managed to leap over a psychological barrier, which is a great NSV.

Tried to order my next pen and they want updated photos 🙄 like I don’t have enough house admin right now 🤯😭

Well if it helps, I'll share my tale of unnecessary admin I could well do without woe...someone has fraudulently used my personal company details/and or someone in a county council has assumed that my UK based company is the same as an offshore one (similar name) and so has without my knowledge managed to get CCJ's against it....because the 'reminders' and demands went to some random property which I did not know about because I neither owned it/lived in it/rented it so couldn't possibly defend the summons- because I did not have access to it..because it was nothing to do with me...(can you see my frustration here?) First I knew about it was a bailiff's letter to my actual office address on Friday. So yep, I share your pain about any unexpected admin for sure...(not that I have a wedding to organise or anything ) Absolutely sod all response from the council concerned, and I can't phone an actual person either. Obvs.

On the upside, my fat apron has shrunk as I have become smaller. So there is hope! Congratulations on the size 14 dress🙌💪🏻
