I’m going out for dinner tonight with friends who don’t know I’m jabbing. Not especially looking forward to it as I am at peak no hunger now the day after an injection! It’s been planned for months though and I want to see them!

Lds1 · 06/06/2025 15:10

Weighed yesterday loss of 0.6 kg / 1 lb and 5.16 oz

Just into the 8st lost but I'm about to be on holiday so i might put weight on next week! Healthy seems a long way away never mind goal weight. The time frame is getting further and further away too 😑

SW 142.8 kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.12 oz
CW 91.7 kg / 14 stone, 6 lb and 2.62 oz
Total loss 51.1 kg / 8 stone, 0 lb and 10.5 oz

Loss to get to healthy 21.6kg / 3 stone, 5 lb and 9.92 oz
Loss to get to goal 31.7 kg / 4 stone, 13 lb and 14.18 oz
BMI 50.8 now 32.6

GnomeDePlume · 06/06/2025 15:32

Weird thing yesterday. Not sure it is an NSV though.

Injected yesterday and for the first time it actually stung a tiny bit. I wonder if this is because I have less fat to inject into or because I was clumsy!

We've been out for lunch and the MJ beat me.
I did eat 2/3 of my food and gave DH some of it.

Declined pudding which is unheard of.
🤣

Edited

I find that happens occasionally.
Apparently it's because we sometimes inject into stretch marks or into where there are nerve pathways.

And we have plenty of stretch marks.

Thanks for the new thread.

If you need a reason for not eating much @FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping you just had a big/ late lunch, right?

PearlsPearl · 06/06/2025 15:51

@Lds1 wow 😍I can only dream of 8 stone off. What an amazing achievement, I am really happy for you

friendlycat · 06/06/2025 15:53

Lds1
That’s an amazing achievement well done.

I'm still here and still being all meh about it.

BUT!! I think I can officially say I now wear size 18! It started with a Seasalt pair of jeans, but "they're on the large side anyway". Then a pair of Asda jeans which fitted but I could feel them but "they fit now, but jeans always stretch".

I did a Shein order for some t-shirts last week and threw in a pair of jean culottes. Took a massive risk at an 18. Just put them on and they fit perfectly! And that's Shein sizing! and tshirts!! I no longer will only wear knee length "tops". I am wearing shirts!

So stalled weight loss be damned. Sizes count too. Started at a 26, now an incredible 18!

Thanks for the new thread 😀
Week 16 weigh-in for me this morning- lost 1lb which takes my total to 55lbs since 13th Feb.
Went away last weekend on a group family holiday and ate and drank a bit like the old me which was disappointing! Then been very hungry this week and craving things I haven't been bothered about for months - basically the food noise came back. I wondered whether it was because I need to increase my dose (just started my 3rd 7.5mg pen) but actually I think it was that giving my body those foods again really reignited my appetite for them and it took a few days to get myself back on track. So the 1lb loss is a real win! And today and yesterday I've felt much more 'mounjaro-y' again despite not injecting until late last night.

Wow, a size 18 is incredible!! Welll done 😀 I got down to a size 20 a few years ago and felt positively tiny!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 06/06/2025 17:07

I've gone down from a size 24/26 to a 12/14 in 17 months.

And a BMI of 50, down to 31.5.

So I'm nearly officially " overweight" rather than obese.

Getting there, slowly but surely. I've lost 7st 4lb.

Keep going everyone !! I’m a size 8 from 20 .. May to November going up the doses to 15mg .. now maintaining on 7.5 mg.. never believed I would be here !

Doggymummar · 06/06/2025 18:43

Ooh shiny new thread book marking.

sherbertcandy · 06/06/2025 18:46

Has anyone managed to get this through their GP on NHS. I would need to be monitored due to certain health conditions, which, with the jabs would hopefully improve

SingleAHF · 06/06/2025 18:49

Is there hope for me? I am 67 and weigh 30st. What does mounjaro do? Is it just an appetite suppressant?

TragicMuse · 06/06/2025 18:56

I’m feeling a bit low and meh. It feels a bit like 7.5mg isn’t giving me the same kind of suppression/lack of food noise, but the quick-to-fullness is still there which is something. I dunno. I’m really not feeling it today.

But on the other hand it’s been a hell of a week - I was being bullied at work but the bully unexpectedly left yesterday so feelings of huge relief but the emotional crash has been intense. I’m exhausted.

The family are having chippy, I will eat a chip or two but can’t be arsed with it really.

No, the only people I have seen who have accessed this on the NHS are Type 2 diabetics who are mainly prescribed it because their diabetes is not well controlled on their existing medication. Weight loss is a secondary benefit rather than the main goal.

Some areas do prescribe Wegovy for some people already on the highest tier of the specialised weight management services, instead of bariatric surgery, but waiting times for referrals can be long and you need to have worked through the lower tier approaches first.

Lds1 · 06/06/2025 19:13

@WafflingDreamer @friendlycat @PearlsPearl thank you all so much!! It will have been a year next month, I'm so glad I decided to start when I did.

Yes, there is plenty of hope @SingleAHF ! Mounjaro has several effects, it is an artificial version of two hormones that are normally released by your body after you eat. Have a read of this article for more details:

https://www.numan.com/weight-loss/medication/mounjaro-weight-loss-medication-how-it-works

It reduces appetite, it make you feel fuller sooner and for longer. A lot of people find that it stops the constant mental focus on food and eating, often called "food noise". That makes it easier to stop snacking between meals, and to choose healthier options when you do eat meals.

It is worth trying and seeing how you get on, most definitely.

I was 67 when I started last year.

Thanks for the new thread @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne 😍 thread 4! That means I’ve averaged 1.3 stone per thread, so by my calculations I may be near goal by thread 7 🤣 congrats on nearly being overweight.
talking of stretch marks, I’ve discovered new ones on my stomach, I didn’t realise you could get them from losing weight??!

@Lds1 8 stone is just unimaginable! That’s epic and you’ve done amazingly well, don’t forget that.

@justteanbiscuits yay to the size 18’s!!

@TragicMuse im so sorry that someone has put you through so much stress at work, people can be such barstards! That must be such a weight off of your shoulders (almost a pun there!).

welcome @SingleAHF, there is always hope, it’s changed my life and all of our lives on this thread. My only regret is that I didn’t try it sooner, it’s a bloody miracle is what it is!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 06/06/2025 20:01

I was pondering my life today, and wondering where I would be if mounjaro hadn’t been ‘invented’. It was quite a scary thought
