How do I get started on MJ?

You buy it from whichever online pharmacy you choose.

How do I get started on MJ?

You could see if your local pharmacy has started dispensing it, mine is in very close contact with my GP surgery which gives me peace of mind. They are averagely competitive (think Asda prices) but are always there if I need more needles, wipes etc and also see me every 4 weeks which I like.

They actually think that I should get it from the NHS once the new rules are announced and are quite happy to help me achieve this.

I was previously purchasing online and I find this much more convenient.

PearlsPearl · 08/06/2025 08:19

@GrannyDooun I've been crapping every third day which has been weird but I have a lot less food in me I suppose! And I'd rather have the constipation than the diarrhoea. Drink loads more than you think, take some phsyillum husk or whatever it's called as I've seen people on here saying it's helped. Good luck!

@SingleAHF I used monj.co.uk to find a pharmacy with a good price and ordered there. I paid £125 for my first pen. My local pharmacy (Numark) is £209 a pen so do check the website out and shop around! Mine came in the post in an ice bag.

I've lost 6lb again which has happily flung me into the 18s and I'm so happy to see that number I cried! It's been 10 years since I was in the 18s.

I was so hungry yesterday, day 6. Today we're going back to Edinburgh for a lego show in the same venue as yesterday so I'm being much better prepared this time as letting myself get that hungry wasn't good for me. I take my jabs on Sunday night as I want to be able to eat the most on weekends with my family as we go out and about.

Mad to think how much money I'm saving on food though. I used to spend a good £4/5 a day at work and now I've just been buying a banana (on top of taking a huge pack lunch and snacks. Now I just take a roll and nothing else). I also used to go to Starbucks once or twice a week at work, my drink was £5.50 and I can't tolerate them now.

New thread ..I just posted on the old thread
Gosh this moves fast .
One pound off this week ,4 off last week
15 mg going ok ,but very anxious and depressed, not sure if it's just me or me and mj contributing

Bulldogsummer · 08/06/2025 10:01

I've got new dresses to try on today and new jeans
Down 3 sizes in jeans 4 sizes in dresses ..
But I'm still where a lot of people are starting their journey, despite having lost 6 stone .
But god I've absolutely no motivation to do anything,no desire to do the things I used to enjoy, nothing brings me pleasure or happiness.
But I've always been a person who struggles with depression and anxiety,so I'm not entirely sure if it's me or mj

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 08/06/2025 10:11

Hi @Bulldogsummer it's good to see you still going downwards. Well done on your losses so far.

I'm sorry you're feeling anxious and depressed. Are you on any medication for that?

@Bulldogsummer there was an article in The Times yesterday I think saying that people had reported anxiety as a side effect of WLI.

I have felt quite down and anxious a few times since starting MJ. But I put it down to not being able to eat my feelings away, or "reward" myself with food if I'd had a stressful time.

How long have you been on 15 mg for?

Interesting,I will try to find that article
Sorry to hear you are feeling the same ,it's not good
But it's the lesser of the evils for me ,I can't go back to where I was last year ,weight wise I mean .
But I will be glad to reach my target weight, eventually and think about coming of this medication
I started taking it last October mid way through

Bulldogsummer · 08/06/2025 10:17

Sorry I've just realised,I've name changed..again ..so I was veganpug on last thread x

Actually that is exactly what I was like before mj..you have reminded me why I started on mj ..thankyou x
I spent my whole life eating my feelings and rewarding myself with food ..I do not ever want to go back to that place ..
I have bought some supplements,I'm going to give aswhanda a try

SeaStoat · 08/06/2025 10:26

Check out SheMed, @SingleAHF Do the sums on whether it will save you money long term. The cost per dose at other pharmacies goes up by strength.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 08/06/2025 10:51

@Bulldogsummer I've just started ashwagandha. It's seems to be working. I'm definitely sleeping better.

I'm on medication for depression/anxiety and have been for quite a long time. Every time I've tried to come off it, I spiral back into depression. So my doctor has told me just to keep taking it (mirtazapine 45mg).
I'm happier and find life much easier on it.

But sleep has always been a problem. Ashwagandha has definitely made a difference, though. I'm taking 2000mg at night.

Good morning, well done on all the losses this week, so fantastic! Im still on my first week, suppression is really high but im absolutely freezing!! Does that feeling last long?

SilenceInside · 08/06/2025 11:14

@Rockfordpeach it can do. Some people seem to find it happens for the day or two after the injections and then wears off. Others, like me, are cold all the time! I have got used to it now, I wear lots of layers, have blankets everywhere, fluffy socks, microwave heat pads.... In the winter I had rechargeable hand warmers for when I was out and about, as well as gloves and wrist warmers, thermal leggings and so on.

It's interesting, because I used to absolutely dread the start of summer and hot days, as I used to get so hot and bothered. Now, I am thrilled when it's a hot day!

I'm always freezing. I've been cold for months. I just try to compensate by putting on a cardigan.

Same, I dreaded the hot weather but the past few days have been contemplating putting the heating on! I also find I'm way less sweaty!

Rockfordpeach · 08/06/2025 12:19

The sun is shining here and im wearing a cardigan and wrapped in a blanket 🙈🙈🙈 i absolutely hate being too hot though so maybe its not a bad thing

MissFlimpkin · 08/06/2025 12:33

I think im going to give it a go.

whats your experience with losing the ‘wine noise’ as opposed to the food noise? The wine which I don’t need makes me eat. Then the next day im starving hungry. Vicious cycle!

who are some trusted suppliers? I’m sure I would qualify with GP but can’t wait for them to start rolling it out.

I want the new me now!!

SilenceInside · 08/06/2025 12:41

@MissFlimpkin there’s a price comparison site https://monj.co.uk All the providers listed there are registered and regulated. There are familiar high street names as well as the other online providers. I’ve used Asda, Zava and Pharmacy2U so far with no issues, moving for a cheaper price each time.

Welcome @OrangeWire @shedroof and @TidyWasp 👋

@PearlsPearl I find restaurants are a bizarre experience now, before it would be ‘what’s the most comforting thing that comes with chips’ now it’s just as you say… nothing, but I’m not complaining!

@SilenceInside you are so inspiring and I thin you keep the rest of us going!

@Doggymummar I also bought a couple of boxy waist length t-shirts and a couple of knee length skirts to wear together, I wouldn’t dream of wearing them with jeans (at the moment) but with a skirt they look good, I haven’t worn a skirt for at least 20 years as they look daft with thigh length tops! I’m discovering so many different clothes at the moment 😍

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden your blood tests are amazing! So pleased for you, you are doing everything right but you are not huge!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 08/06/2025 14:11

@shedroof I noticed a change in my appetite on day two, but I don’t know if it was a placebo effect, I was hyper fixated on looking for signs of hunger, constantly wondering if I was hungry/craving food, you’ll soon settle down into a routine though - good luck!

hello @Rockfordpeach, it is daunting but you’ve made a start and you’re in the right place. My only side effect is constipation and has been since day one, different things work for different people and the only thing that has ever worked for me is Movicol and the occasional use of glycerin suppositories. I was having regular hot flushes before starting MJ, they all stopped and now I’m constantly cold! I have noticed in the last couple of weeks I’ve had a couple of hot flushes for the first time in the last 9 months, but nothing as bad. I’d rather be hot than cold though!

@GrannyDooun I think I only 💩 three times a week now, but was like you in the early days and just had to experiment with different things. I did discover that laxatives take longer to be absorbed so don’t rely on any overnight relief!

Sorry to say, over two years so far for me. Sitting under electric blanket as I type.
