Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@PresidentBarklettthats so amazing. Well done. Well over half way.

My pen arrived today, they must have heard me complaining.

I’m going away soon (only uk) and thinking about getting the following swimwear:

https://www.boden.com/products/sun-safe-raglan-rash-vest-oceanside-blue

The vest and the shorts due to my terrible upper arms and thigh situation. My concern is that it looks a bit like sportswear rather than beachwear? DH thinks this also. But I love the idea of covering the wobbly bits without the sodding swimdress (which does nothing for arms anyway).

Edited

This is the kind of thing I wear for wild swimming so it looks fine to me, though you might be a bit hot out of the water. Are the upper arms and thighs really as bad as you think they are though? I showed a friend a lovely photo of her that I had taken looking vibrant and happy and all she could see was her very slight double chin!

MyRootinTootinBaby · 29/06/2025 20:39

I know that BMI measures don’t hold a lot of weight (pun intended), but for the first time in my adult life, I’m overweight and not obese.

Hurrah @PresidentBarklett many congratulations on your fabulous achievement. 5 Stone is amazing!!!

Every single milestone is important @MyRootinTootinBaby , going from obese to merely overweight is definitely to be celebrated.

I've had my 6 days of fun, eating out every day, now I need to have 3 angelic days before weigh day!

Mounjaropen · 30/06/2025 06:25

Another 2lb knocked off and an annoying 0.2 off a healthy bmi. So close!!! I'm at the point people are telling me to stop losing and pointing out I'm aiming for an entirely sensible bmi of 23 is akin to me 'going too far'. Think they're all too used to my chub!

They all admit I'm looking about a decade younger now though!

Woo hoo! 🙌 I’m at 23.0 and I don’t look ill nor am I even at my lowest adult weight. You do you and ignore the naysayers 💪

Weighing in.

Inspired by @Mounjaropen I followed the rose diet this week so am a pound down! I'm resigning myself to just losing a pound a week going forwards. It'd mean I don't hit my ultimate target by the end of the year but I think I'd be a skinny Just Overweight bitch by then.

Congrats on the wedding and I bet you'll look fabulous in your version of the no name dress that was actually Dior! My parents married when they did as they were living abroad and my dad's visa got extended and my mum's didn't. Their 'engagement' was under a week and I think they both just took the afternoon off work. I'm a big fan of unconventional wedding stories as a result!

🥳 a pound off at this stage is definitely an achievement. Obviously the Rose was a good decision 😂

Well, my 3lb gain has come off, with a smidgen more, so I’m now 12 stone 5.2lbs.

It’s my birthday next week, and I’d had a half hope that I might be back to the weight I was for my 40th, and I’m now exceeding this, so that’s very exciting.

Started the minoxidil last night, I’ve read it can cause water retention so will see how it goes. I do have some electrolytes from Willpowders which contain a mild diuretic so may start taking those daily if I notice an issue. Blimey, it becomes an industry 😂

Happy birthday week to you! (I make mine definitely last a week, milestone ones can last more than a month 😂) All the virtual cake for you 🎂

I'm having a fat and frumpy day, haha.

I'm really trying to eat more as I know most days I don't eat enough, and I seem to have succeeded... 4 meals today!! At least 2,000 calories. (Which I know is normal-ish but I feel enormous and bloated)

Weirdly my afternoon Lindt habit has crept back in this week (a few squares with an espresso after lunch) and this is a bit scary. That was probably the main driver of me not losing weight before MJ, my major vice.

I don't feel hungrier per se but habits seem to slipping.

Time to up my dose maybe? I'm on 7.5mg and currently losing 1lb per week which I am happy with, as I want to give skin time to catch up. I'm now under BMI 25 and working on losing the final stone, which I'm happy to do over as long as 2 months.

🥳 for a bmi of 25! Hope you feel better today. I’d stick on 7.5mg personally.

How many is ‘a few’ squares of Lindt? They are quite large squares…?😂 Could you swap out one square for a mejool date maybe? Is it dark chocolate? Because you know that’s much better for you than milk chocolate. If it’s milk, your rational brain knows the product is designed to make you less satisfied so you want more…don’t let it trap you 💪

I'm at a concert and am drinking my dinner calories! Definitely not a good mj ambassador tonight

Ooh! What did you see?

I felt very virtuous last week at the cinema - no sweets or wine at all 💪😂 saw the F1 film - was bloody marvellous. Highly recommend. Like Top Gun but with cars.

Wow wedding dress shopping, how fun!

I also have massive boobs and also bought the first dress I tried on when I got married. I knew what suited me!

Checking in, I'm very stalled on the weight loss front, to be fair I haven't been trying particularly hard and just depending on the MJ to end up with smaller portions. Kitchen is being redone so can't really cook, not helping.

I have a big birthday party in a couple of weeks so I'm going to use that as motivation in the short term. Maybe I should be going up a dose on the pen but a bit reluctant.

Well it is tricky to eat well with no kitchen so be kind to yourself. Could you buy the plain salad bowl from m&s and add in some pre-cooked lean protein? What dose are you on atm?

I was 5 months pregnant when I bought my wedding dress. The only one I tried on. And annoyingly almost a stone lighter than I am now!
I’d love to have the whole experience of wedding shopping without the bump. Enjoy every minute @Mounjaropen

Annoyingly my losses are sooooooo sloooooow.
im stuck again at 10 9.5. Just into the healthy BMI but not budging any lower. Very annoying.

I’ve found 10 stones 13.9 to 9 stones anything to be the slowest loss. Keep going, it will happen eventually. 💪

Yay for a dress and shoe shopping to come. And wooohooo for tiny sizes.

Anyone having issues getting pens? I ordered on Monday with medexpress and it’s still not dispatched. I have one dose left(and golden if needs must), I’m used to having a spare in the fridge ready to go and I’m feeling a bit antsy about it. Might try another supplier.

Aunt flo moved in today, that’s three fairly normal cycles in a row, a peri miracle. Am blaming that for a hunger for snacks.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

I’m about to order today so let’s see 🤞

You are dressing for your old self my friend. Wear the swimsuits you want. I promise you, no one is looking. No need to cover yourself and end up sweating to death. There will be people larger than you embracing their bodies. Embrace yours 🥰

@Mounjaropen congrats, exciting times! When is the actual wedding day?

P.S. what is the rose diet?

Wedding is in August.

The rose diet basically involves inadvertently getting smashed on too much rose wine. Maybe also throwing in a takeaway too. Annoyingly then losing weight the next day (possibly the first loss in two weeks) after being angelic for many, many days before 😂

Well I never! I’m not a drinker but had two glasses of Rose last night to celebrate getting a distinction on my PGCE, and I’ve had a mini whoosh this morning. And not just any whoosh….

SW: 113.35kg BMI: 38.3
CW: 73.6kg ……. BMI: 24.9!!!!

My BMI is in the healthy range!! 39.8kg off (6st 4lbs) and à stone to go to target!

And, I tried a (Primark) jumpsuit I have so far had in a size 14 and 12, in à size 10 yesterday - and it fits! (A little snugger than I’d wear normally but it fits!)

🥳 congratulations!

Trust the process 🍷 😂

Update from me…

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 and it’s officially a 4 stone rosette for me! CW 9st 10.6lb so a TL of 56.4lbs

Plenty of booze since Friday ( Harvey nicks lunch with DD on Friday, Fancy Lucky Cat lunch with STBDH on Saturday and a roast dinner out at a local place yesterday) seemed to do the trick 😂💪🏻

Wedding update: Booked the reception, issued WhatsApp invites to our closest friends (twentysomething year old me would be horrified😂) and bought a rather lovely diamond wedding band… Still no shoes 😭 STBDH was also kitted out - although we do look like we’re going to two entirely different weddings 😂

Highlight of the weekend was the lovely assistant in the fancy jewellers allowing me to try some extraordinary rings on whilst giving me an impromptu gemmology lesson including a ruby and diamond number worth £m’s.. reader, I did not spend anything like that 😂 It did make our rather more modest purchase feel very special though and given STBDH bought my engagement ring there over 10 years ago, they remembered him fondly which was lovely.

Congratulations on the 4 stone rosette and the upcoming nuptials, @Mounjaropen! Loving the wedding shopping updates.

Amazing updates too from @PresidentBarklett and @MyRootinTootinBaby and anyone else I’ve missed. Awesome results!

Weight loss really makes no sense. I stepped on the scales this morning after a weekend away convinced that between the food and drink and the heat/long drive I would be retaining water like crazy, but nope, I’m down to 9 st 8 (0.5lb down since Fri morning). It’s lovely but completely illogical.
