Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Congratulations!!! Fabulous news, look forward to seeing the frock options.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 27/06/2025 09:47

How Exciting @Mounjaropen so happy for you both and all your family. You are going to have such fun shopping for your lovely dress. Romance is alive and kicking!

(My DH is an Accountant specialising in trusts and estates, he has often prompted people to marry, giving them the wonderful romantic advice to do it for tax reasons, if nothing else!)

You are going to look so elegant! Do everything the way YOU want!

DarkForces · 27/06/2025 09:47

Another 2lb knocked off and an annoying 0.2 off a healthy bmi. So close!!! I'm at the point people are telling me to stop losing and pointing out I'm aiming for an entirely sensible bmi of 23 is akin to me 'going too far'. Think they're all too used to my chub!

They all admit I'm looking about a decade younger now though!

Inspired by @Mounjaropen I followed the rose diet this week so am a pound down! I'm resigning myself to just losing a pound a week going forwards. It'd mean I don't hit my ultimate target by the end of the year but I think I'd be a skinny Just Overweight bitch by then.

Congrats on the wedding and I bet you'll look fabulous in your version of the no name dress that was actually Dior! My parents married when they did as they were living abroad and my dad's visa got extended and my mum's didn't. Their 'engagement' was under a week and I think they both just took the afternoon off work. I'm a big fan of unconventional wedding stories as a result!

Woohoo so close! Fantastic about the compliments too

TeenLifeMum · 27/06/2025 10:05

@Mounjaropen that’s soooo exciting! Enjoy looking fabulous and having a huge range of styles to choose from. (I had to pay for a new certificate for my post grad to prove my previous qualifications were mine in my maiden name to get on the course 😭. We found the original the other day - 2 years later - so now dh and I have one each with his terrible signature. He’s left handed so cannot write with a fountain pen. Not convinced our marriage is actually legal).

Wishing you the most wonderful day 🥰

Goldleafcat · 27/06/2025 10:09

Well, my 3lb gain has come off, with a smidgen more, so I’m now 12 stone 5.2lbs.

It’s my birthday next week, and I’d had a half hope that I might be back to the weight I was for my 40th, and I’m now exceeding this, so that’s very exciting.

Started the minoxidil last night, I’ve read it can cause water retention so will see how it goes. I do have some electrolytes from Willpowders which contain a mild diuretic so may start taking those daily if I notice an issue. Blimey, it becomes an industry 😂

I'm having a few fat and frumpy days. I seem to remember this happening when I lost weight for my wedding and it usually happened when I was between sizes or just before a whoosh...it's like the fat cells decide to have one last hurrah and swell up before they go pop 😂 That's my unhinged theory anyway!

I'm having a fat and frumpy day, haha.

I'm really trying to eat more as I know most days I don't eat enough, and I seem to have succeeded... 4 meals today!! At least 2,000 calories. (Which I know is normal-ish but I feel enormous and bloated)

Weirdly my afternoon Lindt habit has crept back in this week (a few squares with an espresso after lunch) and this is a bit scary. That was probably the main driver of me not losing weight before MJ, my major vice.

I don't feel hungrier per se but habits seem to slipping.

Time to up my dose maybe? I'm on 7.5mg and currently losing 1lb per week which I am happy with, as I want to give skin time to catch up. I'm now under BMI 25 and working on losing the final stone, which I'm happy to do over as long as 2 months.

I'm at a concert and am drinking my dinner calories! Definitely not a good mj ambassador tonight

Good morning friends in my phone!

It’s a particularly exciting Friday here….firstly I am one step closer as now only 0.4LBS to go before my four stone rosette….

But more excitingly, today I am wedding dress shopping! I know I refer to him as DH, but we have never officially tied the knot as both of us were previously married (literally in the last century 😂) fun fact – it turns out you really should keep things like marriage certificates from your first wedding (or at least know where they are) because otherwise you end up paying £42 for something you did not need a reminder of so you can get married again..
DD is going to have the strange experience of helping her mother pick her dress to get married to her father in to improve both of their tax positions (who said romance was dead?) 😂 anyway, I’m pretty sure I would not be as keen to dress up had I not lost all of this weight. Obviously, we have both done the big white bridezillaweddings previously, so I’m going for a more chilled vibe this time – no big meringue dresses, just a simple dress, with knockout shoes (think Carrie getting married at City Hall to Big in SATC.. no birds on the head for me!). Registry office followed by a fancy dinner for us, the kids and ride or die friends. I expect undoubtedly I will offend some people by not inviting them, but I’d like one long table, good wine, good food and not giving a shit about whether or not the flowers match the napkins and whether or not we’ve invited second cousin Maureen. 😂

So cheers, and God bless IHT rules, a labour government and an impending heart operation for soon to be DH…

Congratulations @Mounjaropen how exciting!! Fabulous shoes and a chic dress sounds just perfect!

Mounjaropen · 28/06/2025 09:38

Well good morning everyone! Wedding shopping update…😂

Bought the first dress I tried on and the one I thought I would buy anyway before going to the West End - flattering shape for me with big boobs.. they only had a size S/M and it fitted like a glove. DD was really encouraging about not going to the next size up which I would normally default to. I may need some bum padding underwear though because unlike Pippa Middleton, my ozempic arse is not going to get it’s own Twitter account 😂

I Then spent 19,000 steps looking at shoes… unfortunately my shopping trip coincided with the start of the Sales so queues everywhere…30minutes to get into Chanel? No thank you. So after all that, still no shoes 😭 Going back today to try on a couple of pairs I’ve ordered in at Manolo Blahnik (a La Carrie Bradshaw) and some at Jimmy Choo (although I had Choo’s for my first wedding and I have knickers that lasted longer than that marriage so they’re not a great talisman tbh 😂) The hunt resumes today 🤞

in other news, my failsafe rose diet did not work yesterday and my 0.4lb has become 0.6lbs to go…ultimately I’d like to get to 9st 7lbs for the wedding which was my goal weight for wedding number 1, and a target I missed by more than a stone.. so maybe that will be a better omen 😆

Wonderful news about the wedding @Mounjaropen . Enjoy the shopping!

Oceangrey · 28/06/2025 09:45

Wow wedding dress shopping, how fun!

I also have massive boobs and also bought the first dress I tried on when I got married. I knew what suited me!

Checking in, I'm very stalled on the weight loss front, to be fair I haven't been trying particularly hard and just depending on the MJ to end up with smaller portions. Kitchen is being redone so can't really cook, not helping.

I have a big birthday party in a couple of weeks so I'm going to use that as motivation in the short term. Maybe I should be going up a dose on the pen but a bit reluctant.

flametrees · 28/06/2025 10:25

I was 5 months pregnant when I bought my wedding dress. The only one I tried on. And annoyingly almost a stone lighter than I am now!
I’d love to have the whole experience of wedding shopping without the bump. Enjoy every minute @Mounjaropen

Annoyingly my losses are sooooooo sloooooow.
im stuck again at 10 9.5. Just into the healthy BMI but not budging any lower. Very annoying.

jay55 · 28/06/2025 12:25

Yay for a dress and shoe shopping to come. And wooohooo for tiny sizes.

Anyone having issues getting pens? I ordered on Monday with medexpress and it’s still not dispatched. I have one dose left(and golden if needs must), I’m used to having a spare in the fridge ready to go and I’m feeling a bit antsy about it. Might try another supplier.

Aunt flo moved in today, that’s three fairly normal cycles in a row, a peri miracle. Am blaming that for a hunger for snacks.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

My MedExpress order took a bit longer than usual as well. They sent an email about "warehouse issues", but then it did dispatch the following day. Perhaps a three day delay in total, compared to previous orders?

Goldleafcat · 28/06/2025 17:48

I’m going away soon (only uk) and thinking about getting the following swimwear:

https://www.boden.com/products/sun-safe-raglan-rash-vest-oceanside-blue

The vest and the shorts due to my terrible upper arms and thigh situation. My concern is that it looks a bit like sportswear rather than beachwear? DH thinks this also. But I love the idea of covering the wobbly bits without the sodding swimdress (which does nothing for arms anyway).

Sun Safe Raglan Rash Vest-Oceanside Blue

Ready to hit the waves? You will be in our sun safe raglan rash vest. The long sleeves help to shield your skin from harmful rays while the zip front will make you look the part. Add the matching shorts and surf's up.

@Mounjaropen congrats, exciting times! When is the actual wedding day?

P.S. what is the rose diet?

DarkForces · 29/06/2025 09:10

Benefits of being a skinny Minnie. When I dropped pasta sauce on the hem of my top yesterday I could shrug, tuck it in and it actually looked better!

IndigoHexagon · 29/06/2025 09:24

Well I never! I’m not a drinker but had two glasses of Rose last night to celebrate getting a distinction on my PGCE, and I’ve had a mini whoosh this morning. And not just any whoosh….

SW: 113.35kg BMI: 38.3
CW: 73.6kg ……. BMI: 24.9!!!!

My BMI is in the healthy range!! 39.8kg off (6st 4lbs) and à stone to go to target!

And, I tried a (Primark) jumpsuit I have so far had in a size 14 and 12, in à size 10 yesterday - and it fits! (A little snugger than I’d wear normally but it fits!)

DarkForces · 29/06/2025 09:44

Congratulations @IndigoHexagon. lots to celebrate!

P.S. what is the rose diet?

It's super high tech. You drink some rose, assume you might gain that week but no, the magic rose diet makes you lose weight.

Oh haha I was kind of hoping it involves eating rose pudding and other rose flavoured things 🤣🤣🤣 Shame I don’t like rose, but suppose I could repurpose it as a Lindt diet!

Now on a serious note, has anyone read FOOD FIGHT by Stuart Gillespie? Just finished it and it’s blown my mind re Big Food.

PresidentBarklett · 29/06/2025 16:30

I am 5 stone down as of today! That's all. Transformational. 3 to go.
