Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@Mounjaropen did you say that you were with Pharmulous and that you could pick up from there? After receiving a lukewarm pen I need to switch to somewhere I can pick up from.

or it could be another of the November 24 posse.

Edited

Sorry I am a medexpress girl. They do always arrive cold but I make sure I order on a Monday so that I don't have to worry about a potential weekend delivery.

Hi all, long time lurker very occasional poster, I think I’m pretty much at my goal weight now… woohoo!! But now what…? I’ve started lowering the dose a bit.. but that week I gained two pounds… not doing anything wild, just eating a bit more normally 🫠; and exercising alot… does anyone have a plan? I’m sort of happy to stay on it indefinitly if they will give it to me… but not sure whether they will?
Starting weight - 14st 1
CW 9st 7
GW 9st 5

I mean, what a result! You are at my goal weight... and started about the same size... congrats!

Could anything else be at play for the weight gain?

I definitely need to do some exercise, but I just can’t be bothered 😂 When I was fatter, my legs were fat but they felt firmer despite being much bigger. Now I’ve lost 4 stone, I’ve still got quite fat legs but they’re like wobbly fat. I need to keep going and lose a couple more stone, but I’m worried that my legs are just going to get saggier. It can’t all be loose muscle either surely, so I’m not even sure how much exercise will help but I obviously need to give it a go.

Start small and increase slowly. Ensure your protein intake is up and you should be fine. I have the wobbly skin and I am doing a lot of exercise....

@Thatpastalife I’m on the oushk taper maintenance plan. My plan is to slowly work my way back down the doses keeping a close eye on my weight and appetite. I went down to 7.5mg from 10 this week. I’ve also redone my calories and protein intake based on maintaining weight and not losing and my plan is to up my calories 100 a day each week until I’m eating my maintenance or if I can see I’m not maintaining but gaining. I want to work out what maintenance looks like for me. I will also continue exercising which is currently 10-12k steps a day, running twice a week, swimming once a week, gym 1-2 times a week.

although my plans were scuppered this week as I’ve not been well so I’ve done no exercise and I’ve not taken my jab yet this week.

on the Oushk live last night Hira suggested that the conti plan (and perhaps being in this for life) would work best for people that had spent most of their adult life overweight; taper would be best for those that had put weight on due to pregnancy, Covid, menopause etc and that flexi was there as a safety net for those who decided to come off.

Thanks for sharing - really useful 😃

I'm exactly the same @memphismayhem .
Generally shrunk all over: Bottom gone, I have a waist and very pleased with my collar bones and slim forearms/wrists, but still got quite a roll around lower tummy & my inner thighs seem very 'loose'. I am not losing too much too quickly but perhaps in time things will tighten up a bit.
I agree that in my 50's my shape is probably going to be different from when I was last this 'slim' in my 20's
Ive still got 10lb to go.
Anyone know of a magic method that can target the tummy roll?? 😁

Well it isn't core exercise I can confirm 😭I am hoping that the next 7lbs off will make the difference...!

So if we’ve got no bum what is the most flattering way to dress?

You can wear anything tbh, but no bum opens up bias cut dresses? They would create the illusion of curves for sure.

Anyone want to list the positive changes they’re noticing?

No heartburn (this plagued me)
No ‘chub rub’ this summer
Sweating less
The pain in my knee has disappeared
Look better in my clothes
Don’t worry about how I look anymore
More energy
Walking/running faster

The knee one is the best for me because I was so worried I’d need a replacement in years to come,

Great idea!

I'll add

Sleeping better (no wine)
Wearing less clothes this summer - I am wearing a vest top today!
No shape wear required to do up clothes...

Happy Friday team skinny Minnie's!

I had a mini freak out this morning when DH made a passing comment about my hair looking thinner, so I've just ordered the Hair & Me Minoxidil - just waiting to be approved. I've also ordered some hair oil capsules with rosemary and other scalp stimulating ingredients!

I might be being paranoid as I've always had to unblock the shower and rescue the hoover from my hair shedding, but it was starting to freak me out. So taking action now before my hair thins any more!

Good luck!

Ah great idea @StarShapedWindow

I am happier with myself
I don’t try and hide in photos
i don’t cringe when I see myself on the ring doorbell 😂
I am enjoying rediscovering exercise and finding new ways to move and push my body
I don’t need to plan days out on when and where I can eat!
bizarrely I think my hair is looking thicker and healthier (I think due to the tremella powder and being more conscious about eating protein)
I can wear size 8s
if I ever brave another date I won’t be worrying about them finding me fat 😂

Any date would be lucky to have you.

IME Most men are happy that they get to see your boobs for real, so I doubt they are looking at anything else 😂

No weight loss this week 😭 but I'm feeling bloated so hopefully just water retention. I did have wine last night as dh cooked a beautiful dinner so hopefully it's just a blip

Keep going! It'll be a blip for sure 💪

After a couple of good weeks of losing just over a pound a week, today I only lost 1/4 of a pound 🙁 I’m guessing hormones, I was feeling like I’m a bit bloated. At the ripe age of 47 I’m not exactly regular!

Dissapointed as my hols are in less than two weeks and I had hoped to shift a bit more as I know I will gain a few pounds while I’m away, but still, a loss is a loss and this is a long game.

I think this last two stone could take longer to lose than the first 4 1/2!

Your losses are fantastic - wanted to be 9 stone anything before my holiday and was 0.7lb away from that target. You will have the most brilliant time on holiday 4.5 stones lighter than before. Absolutely amazing!

Weighing in.

W33D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:15st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 4st 1lb

I was getting a bit smug about not being a sweaty mess this summer. Then this week happened and the sweaty toddler/ menopausal hair has returned 🥵 Thankfully now I have something resembling a jawline I don't hate tying it up so much.

Amazing loss - and so far beyond your GW! How fabulous!

Oh I nearly forgot one!

I thought i just had odd shapes feet that didnt fit into pretty summer sliders very well....turns out my feet were just fat! 😂 I never ever thought they were fat, but the 2 pairs of pretty summer sliders that used to dissect my toes into ribbons now fit beautifully!

To quote my eyebrow lady - "even your fingers look thinner!"

Funny how we don't notice stuff at the time isn't it?

Enjoy the sliders - `I'm off to see if the ones that didn't use to fit me now do 😂

@MagnoliaTreePetals I’m having a similar week. Since November I have been able to take or leave food. This week I keep dreaming offings I’d like to eat and eating much more than usual. I’m on 7.5. Maybe it’s because I’m looking at maintenance and am not as disciplined as I was previously or it could be the day point hogans I need to get to grips with it. This weeks jab doesn’t seem to have done very much. I’ve been battling with willpower. I’m going to jab later (a day early) because I don’t want to go off the rails completely. Looking forward to my maintenance appointment next week month.

Keep going - you've got this too 💪

I have managed to change to Cloud Pharmacy from Asda (ZAVA) very easily. They asked for a couple of dated photos and I also had to give them my height and weight and confirmation of my recent prescription from Asda. I switched as I want to continue on MJ for maintenance. My current (first thing in the morning without clothes) weight is 9st 11 and I am around 5ft 5. With clothes after breakfast coffee and water I weigh just over 10 stone, so I used this weight in case they needed photo evidence. Cloud are also much cheaper than Asda so it's a double win. I've lost 34lbs and am now happy with my weight.

In terms of NSV I would list the following:
No chub rub
Bras are more comfortable as no back or underarm fat
My boobs don't bounce uncontrollably when I go running
No double chin
Look better in photos
Yoga positions are easier
I'm a size 10-12
Look younger
Have bought some denim shorts
Noticed the train seats were more roomy
Can fit between the side of my summer house and garden fence to trim the brambles
Discovered some old dresses at the back of the wardrobe that now fit
My skin is looking better as I'm drinking more water

Ooh what did you go for? I usually go for a dark cherry wine colour as it goes with everything.

Pale pastel pink. I’m usually pinks unless it’s autumn/winter then reds/blues/greens come in.

Oh I'm setting the goal weights in stages as the Big Goal was over 8 stone off when I started and that was too much to think about!
Hitting the 15st 4 one will take me just past the half way point though and then the next goal is going to be getting to just overweight.
I'm aiming for around 11st 4 ultimately. I'm very hourglass (although with mounjaro ass going on these days!) and am never going to be at the lower end of the healthy BMI range.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/06/2025 16:24

I’m stuck weight-wise too. My weight graph on Shotsy is going straight across, grr! Too many social occasions plus holiday, I think. More social occasions coming up this weekend and next, though

Hope the dress fits - you can always get someone locally to fit it to your shape?

Hope the BPPV eases up - mine was a bit rough.

The BPPV is truly kicking my arse. I feel dreadful.

The dress fits. I just won’t want to eat a big meal on the day! It’s got a mermaidy flourish at the bottom. But it fits the bill for the event and was a bargain (coast £24).

Know how you feel @TooExtraImmatureCheddar

If it’s not the kids (young adults) coming back for a weekend, it’s a birthday or whatever celebration from my girly crew and next week it’s a family wedding, weekend after is a weekend away with my sister, then it’s a holiday etc. I will be lucky to loose an ounce between now and the end of July
