Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Anyone want to list the positive changes they’re noticing?

No heartburn (this plagued me)
No ‘chub rub’ this summer
Sweating less
The pain in my knee has disappeared
Look better in my clothes
Don’t worry about how I look anymore
More energy
Walking/running faster

The knee one is the best for me because I was so worried I’d need a replacement in years to come,

SerenePeer · 20/06/2025 09:17

Happy Friday team skinny Minnie's!

I had a mini freak out this morning when DH made a passing comment about my hair looking thinner, so I've just ordered the Hair & Me Minoxidil - just waiting to be approved. I've also ordered some hair oil capsules with rosemary and other scalp stimulating ingredients!

I might be being paranoid as I've always had to unblock the shower and rescue the hoover from my hair shedding, but it was starting to freak me out. So taking action now before my hair thins any more!

Thatpastalife · 20/06/2025 09:19

Pumpkinforever · 20/06/2025 07:23

@Thatpastalife Congrats on your weight loss 🎉

Yes they will. Hira Malik, Oushk, said on her Facebook live last night that they are happy to prescribe forever if that’s is what you need. GPs are bound by NHS guidelines but as a pharmacy they follow Eli Lilly guidelines.

Edited

Aah this is amazing news! I’ve always struggled so think maybe a low dose forever, I eat well, always work out but im always SO HUNGRY! And Mounjaro has been the only thing that helps so I’m thrilled!!
thanks everyone else for your encouragement and advice 🥰 god I love this thread, thank goodness for all of you! X

Yes!

Shopping for vest tops that I will wear without covering my arms
More confidence
A whole wardrobe of clothes to choose from
Feeling sexy again
Catching sight of myself in the mirror and loving what I see
Joints have stopped aching
Running is less hard (it's never easier lol)
Food tastes have changed for the better

MagnoliaTreePetals · 20/06/2025 09:23

Yes to all of the above!

Also, so much more confident, ie Walking into a room and no longer feeling everyone is thinking 'gosh she's fat, if she can't take care of herself how can we trust what she is telling us'.
Feeling so so much happier!
Pain in knees, hips and back: banished.
Feeling 10 years younger
When I do the 30 minute walk into the village it now only takes 20 minutes!
Taking up less space (in the bath, on the train, in airplane seats)

Cantbesure · 19/06/2025 13:13

I’ve been struggling with BPPV (vertigo) all week. I’ve not been able to do any of my usual fitness activities. I haven’t even been able to go for a walk. I can’t drive or move my head. Hoping it settles down quickly. I was due my jab yesterday but I was too anxious to take it as I already feel so sick and dizzy. I’ve just done my first week of maintenance and my weight has stayed the same, just moving up and down the same lb during the week.

i ended up at the hospital after I went to the GP for them to check out my heart and low blood pressure. The hospital dr said as I was ‘very slight’ low BP might be perfectly normal for me. Why thank you!

my body has changed from an apple to a rectangle. I still have boobs (30ff) but they are a lot less in your face than they have been most of my life.

ive ordered a dress in the coast sales for a work event next week. It’s a size 8 and the reviews say it was too big at the bust so I’m hoping that will make it perfect for me. Fingers crossed.

Size 8 klaxon!!! Thats blooming fabulous!

Weighing In Day

Another 1.5 lb gone, lowest weight for over 30 years!
SW 16.5
CW 12.6
only 1lb until 4stone loss.

A slightly strange week in that although I am not getting hungry in-between meals & the side effects are unusually negligible, I have been getting an almost instinctive drive to eat, eat, eat. It is taking a LOT of willpower to resist.
It's as if an inner voice has been turned on, at full volume, and every instinct is getting me to eat something, anything, even though I am not hungry.

Is this because I am now at a lower weight than I have been for 30 years?
Is this what 'set point' is? Does my body think my weight is now too low or something?
It shouldn't be hormonal as I've been stable on HRT for a couple of years.
My BMI is 26.5, so I still have a way to go before I get to a 'healthy' weight.

The question is, I am on 10mg, It's working well in other aspects. Do I move up to 12.5 and risk more side effects again? Would moving up even cancel this new 'food noise', given that the 10mg dose is working in all other aspects?

Do any of you lovely people have any similar experience, thoughts or advice?

I'm having a similar week. I have a big desire to eat, but it's not food noise. There's lots of things I could eat but that's not what my body wants....I'm also on 10mg and my suppression is still very good. I made quesidillas 2 nights ago and made 2 for myself and I was ravenous....got most of the way through the first one and had to stop!

So you might be right that it's a set point thing

I have my every-other-month telephone appointment with my weight loss Dr next week, I am going to ask him about it as well. I am sure he mentioned Set Points when I first saw him, but he had so much information and advice about starting MJ that I can't remember what he might have said. Will report back......

Cantbesure · 20/06/2025 09:54

Ah great idea @StarShapedWindow

I am happier with myself
I don’t try and hide in photos
i don’t cringe when I see myself on the ring doorbell 😂
I am enjoying rediscovering exercise and finding new ways to move and push my body
I don’t need to plan days out on when and where I can eat!
bizarrely I think my hair is looking thicker and healthier (I think due to the tremella powder and being more conscious about eating protein)
I can wear size 8s
if I ever brave another date I won’t be worrying about them finding me fat 😂

DarkForces · 20/06/2025 10:46

No weight loss this week 😭 but I'm feeling bloated so hopefully just water retention. I did have wine last night as dh cooked a beautiful dinner so hopefully it's just a blip

Caplin · 20/06/2025 10:49

After a couple of good weeks of losing just over a pound a week, today I only lost 1/4 of a pound 🙁 I’m guessing hormones, I was feeling like I’m a bit bloated. At the ripe age of 47 I’m not exactly regular!

Dissapointed as my hols are in less than two weeks and I had hoped to shift a bit more as I know I will gain a few pounds while I’m away, but still, a loss is a loss and this is a long game.

I think this last two stone could take longer to lose than the first 4 1/2!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/06/2025 10:49

No heartburn
No chub rub
Fitting into so many clothes
Looking good in clothes
My face being thinner
Less cringing when I see myself on Teams
I’m still inflexible but when I fold at the waist in eg Pilates/stretching my tummy isn’t in the way as well
Eating like a normal person - not heavily restricting carbs or weighing everything etc. Just eating small portions of food, with plenty of vegetables.

PinkArt · 20/06/2025 10:49

Weighing in.

W33D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:15st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 4st 1lb

I was getting a bit smug about not being a sweaty mess this summer. Then this week happened and the sweaty toddler/ menopausal hair has returned 🥵 Thankfully now I have something resembling a jawline I don't hate tying it up so much.

Pumpkinforever · 20/06/2025 11:09

But over the 4stone mark @PinkArt onwards and downwards

@DarkForces next week will be your week!

@Caplin any loss counts

in this heat I can finally open the wardrobe knowing it all fits. Some items might be quite loose but I don’t care. I can now wear different things every day without worrying that my back fat is obvious or my stomach looks 7 months pregnant.

I can go into a shop and not worry about if they stock my size

I no longer get those looks in the supermarket that say we know why you are obese.

People are more polite.

okay so I am still big but an acceptable big, no longer enormous.

SerenePeer · 20/06/2025 11:15

Oh I nearly forgot one!

I thought i just had odd shapes feet that didnt fit into pretty summer sliders very well....turns out my feet were just fat! 😂 I never ever thought they were fat, but the 2 pairs of pretty summer sliders that used to dissect my toes into ribbons now fit beautifully!

Dreamqueen · 20/06/2025 12:44

@MagnoliaTreePetals I’m having a similar week. Since November I have been able to take or leave food. This week I keep dreaming offings I’d like to eat and eating much more than usual. I’m on 7.5. Maybe it’s because I’m looking at maintenance and am not as disciplined as I was previously or it could be the day point hogans I need to get to grips with it. This weeks jab doesn’t seem to have done very much. I’ve been battling with willpower. I’m going to jab later (a day early) because I don’t want to go off the rails completely. Looking forward to my maintenance appointment next week month.

LilyRose88 · 20/06/2025 13:38

I have managed to change to Cloud Pharmacy from Asda (ZAVA) very easily. They asked for a couple of dated photos and I also had to give them my height and weight and confirmation of my recent prescription from Asda. I switched as I want to continue on MJ for maintenance. My current (first thing in the morning without clothes) weight is 9st 11 and I am around 5ft 5. With clothes after breakfast coffee and water I weigh just over 10 stone, so I used this weight in case they needed photo evidence. Cloud are also much cheaper than Asda so it's a double win. I've lost 34lbs and am now happy with my weight.

In terms of NSV I would list the following:
No chub rub
Bras are more comfortable as no back or underarm fat
My boobs don't bounce uncontrollably when I go running
No double chin
Look better in photos
Yoga positions are easier
I'm a size 10-12
Look younger
Have bought some denim shorts
Noticed the train seats were more roomy
Can fit between the side of my summer house and garden fence to trim the brambles
Discovered some old dresses at the back of the wardrobe that now fit
My skin is looking better as I'm drinking more water

Morning everyone,

weekly check in

i have disappointingly stayed the same.

Once again my mood has been low this week and no motivation to do anything.
My mojo has got up and gone!

Forced myself to go out and walk in a hope that it would improve my mood, this week my step count is 73,109.

However, on a positive note, I got myself a M & S beauty bag. £210 worth of assorted products for £35. My attitude was I will give anything I don’t want, like or have a use for to my daughters. When I got home, I opened everything and I love it all, so much so, I returned to M &S and got another one.

Keep going, you are doing so well! Hope you enjoy the beauty bag, it looks fab 😍

Ps - I am at a plateau, it is terribly disappointing. I have played tennis 4 x this week, pvolved every day, treadmill 2 miles even on tennis days, eaten zero crap, had no alcohol and I'm only 0.2lbs lighter than my lowest pre-holiday weight... I feel your pain!

I have a wardrobe full of different sized clothes. Really need a sort out as just because something fits, it doesn’t mean I’ll ever wear it.

i need swimwear for holiday in august and I’m holding off. One company said no returns but I was going to order a few to try so guess I can’t use that company.

My weightloss has stuck to my usual patterns - boobs, waist, thighs. Bum still holding on. I’m a 12 in most clothes but by buying A line dresses I was still wearing some 12s even at my biggest when in reality I was a 16 in denial.

Just having an iced americano in the garden before my mad day of work begins. Working from home with the puppy. She’s super chilled so it’s a nice thing. Treating myself to gel nails later and haven’t decided on a colour yet.

Ooh what did you go for? I usually go for a dark cherry wine colour as it goes with everything.

Hope the BPPV eases up - mine was a bit rough.

It’s a very good week. I’ve had a whoosh, over a kilo down yesterday, and it stayed off this morning. And today had an offer on the house I inherited.

Im over the moon for both.

SW 140kg
Sw mounjaro 104.8kg
cw 85kg
next Goal 80kg
GW 70ish?

What a day! Hope you bought a lottery ticket too after that luck! I was feeling a bit down in the dumps yesterday so bought 4 scratch cards (I always buy 4 in a row from the same kind) and won £50 on the first one. Happy days!

Reading posts about thinner legs and am now holding out hope to finally have skinny legs at some point!

But actually they might be a bit slimmer than they were?

Bum is definitely smaller, but it wasn’t a great shape to start with. Now my tummy has finally started to recede it looks a bit more in proportion again.

Do you methreesixty? My inch loss progress has been revolutionary to my mind 💪

NSV I needed some new tights and Amazon insisted I should order large despite me entering my new weight into the box. Stupidly I listened and my tights gave me elephant ankles yesterday as they were so loose. I've reordered them in small and put the unused ones in the charity bag. Hopefully I've not been too optimistic skipping medium 🤞

I completely agree with those saying their shape has changed. I’ve always been self conscious of my large bum … it’s disappeared 😳 I’m almost at goal, 3lb away from 4 stone down, but still have a tummy and legs look skinny but have a sticky out bit at the inner thighs. Anyway, I’m telling myself I’m in my 50s and won’t have the same shape as 30 years and 3 children ago! Such a lovely supportive group, I don’t post much but love reading everyone’s success stories. I still haven’t told anyone IRL, not even my DH. And a few colleagues and a friend have recently started. Feel like I’ve kept it a secret for so long I can’t possibly tell anyone now 😬 🤦‍♀️

Aww we can celebrate your fantastic loss! Amazing!

It's no one else's business by the way 😉
