Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I've got the Caudalie vinohydrate and it's lovely @Oceangrey. I'm a convert!

Oceangrey · 16/06/2025 22:39

Such massive losses everyone! I'm still just a tiny bit over 2 stone down. Anyone else pretty slow?

The last few weeks have been tricky with a lot of events, family wedding, conference, travel, then I was a bit ill for a week and then hurt my shoulder so exercise was out.

Anyway, the good news is through all of that I only put on a pound or so and have now started losing again, if super slowly!

Have a party in just under a month so that's my next motivation.

I'm on 10mg so I could go up but I'm a bit reluctant in case I reach the max dose and have nothing in reserve. What dose are other on now who aren't there yet?

Oceangrey · 16/06/2025 22:43

ALSO my kitchen is currently a building site, I have an instant pot and a toaster, not even a microwave for the next few days, and it's going to be weeks of disruption. Added challenges as I see many ready meals and takeaways in my future! Luckily I have many many deliveroo options where I live, some of which are reasonably healthy.

Cantbesure · 16/06/2025 21:03

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I have hyperpigmentation too. I’m using tretonoin from a link on this thread, cerave vit c serum which is in a metal tube to reduce oxidisation, cerave moisturiser with spf 50 and nivea q10 spf.

Thank you to all for the vit C and SPF recommendations! I’m going to wait until payday and then fill my boots with lovely skincare plus the Nioxin shampoo/conditioner/scalp therapy set.

TeenLifeMum · 16/06/2025 22:45

I’ve ordered another pen. Currently jabbing every week and a half but planning to move down to 5mg with calorie counting as I transition back to normal life without mj. Determined to stay in track and not let the creep set in.

jay55 · 17/06/2025 06:22

@OceangreyI'm a slow loser on MJ just under 20kg since November (over 50kg total, but that’s taken years with a couple of long breaks), on 10mg and have another 20kg to go to get to a healthy weight.
10 is very high suppression for me and I might go back to 7.5 for a bit, won’t want to go up until I’m a few kilos from goal if I need a final push.

I am losing slower than some but I am fine with that as a loss is a loss!
I definitely have a 4-5 weekly pattern going on as in 2 lb loss then for the next 4 weeks maybe only half a pound a week but over the month it’s about 4-5 lb.

Pen 1, 2.5mg over 4 weeks - loss 14lb
Pen 2, 2.5mg over 5 weeks - loss 8.3lb
Pen 3, 3mg over 4 weeks - loss 5 lb
Pen 4, 3.25mg over 5 weeks - loss 6.5lb
Pen 5, 3.6mg over 5 weeks - loss 6.5 lb
Pen 6, medical advice was to go down to 2.5 as I had an allergic rash, over 6 weeks i have titrated up to 3.75mg and have lost 4 lb ( not including this week).

Pen 6 = The past 6 weeks have not been great. Allergic rash for approx 3 weeks and the itch demented me! And the past 10 days, 48 hours after jab, my mood has been very low for 48 hours and this has resulted in no motivation to do anything. However, today is a new day, it’s a new dawn, and I’m feeling good 🎶

Apologies in advance if this is too personal, but is anyone having disappointing, anti climactic orgasms? Mine are a bit meh 🫣

I can eat pretty normally on 10mg, just not really big portions.

I'm a slower loser too @oceangrey especially now I'm almost at goal. But I'm also a bit lazy when it comes to doing anything after work - I'm just done in by then! If I went for a walk every night after dinner I know I'd lose more. (Not suggesting this is the case for you by the way - we're all so different. Just reflecting on my own personal experience).

SerenePeer · 17/06/2025 08:24

@lovealongbath I've not noticed that....I just feel like I'm finally getting my va va voom back and actually up for a bit of nookie for the first time in a very long time! I'm feel sexier now that I have in years. Fat me did not feel sexy, ever.

evilharpy · 17/06/2025 08:45

My BMI starts with 25 today! It's 25.9 so only just, but still happy with that. 6lbs till I'm back into what's considered a healthy weight so shoukd probably start thinking about maintenance/switching provider.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 17/06/2025 09:25

The legs are out!
Wearing a really pretty summer dress, yesterday and today, that is just above the knee. One of my many slimmer-things that had been lying in wait in storage.
I feel a bit self conscious and strange after 15 years of covering up in maxi dresses; but I am loving the fresh air on my legs!

Woo woop! I'm loving discovering all my old clothes and quite a few things I bought and never wore because I was too self-conscious :-( fished a couple of things out of storage just this morning and can't wait to swan around in them! Thank goodness for the fashion cycle repeating itself!

Not really, I'm currently 11st 7lbs and am not too unhappy here (albeit not quite into that healthy bracket) but generally I'm comfortable around 10st 10lbs to 11st ish. That puts me into a fairly consistent size 10 in most shops. I have lipodema so the weight stays on my legs and refuses to be shifted, and if I go much below about 10st 7lbs it all comes off my face and shoulders and I start looking a bit tired!

I'm going to see how it goes for another couple of pens but when I get to where I'm happy I'll see whether I want to taper off or stay on a low dose for a bit longer. I'm currently on 10mg but have had side effects throughout and am really a bit sick of it. I also really need to start building more muscle again but at the moment my suppression is a bit stronger than I'd like and I'm not really eating enough to support much muscle gain.

Yeah my days basically go kids/work/kids/work/sleep right now so not much scope for long walks. But I'm going on a hike this weekend AND today my scales were 11.0st so that's pretty exciting.

I cannot stop eating today. First time in months that I keep going back to the kitchen for picky bits. I'm not hungry. I am a bit stressed though - big work project and I'm in slightly over my head i think....so chocolate seems to be my answer today!

Oh dear.., give yourself a break though if you have work stress - one day doesn’t out do the past 7 months of hard work. Tomorrow is another day, start the day with plenty of protein and have a wanky London salad 😉

You’ve got this 💪🏻

I’m on 7.5 and have hit a plateau. Holiday weight still lingering 😩 have focussed on exercise, protein and clean eating but to no avail… fingers crossed I get some sort of whoosh this week!

Glad you are feeling better today. My libido deffo took a nosedive at the start of this journey, which was bloody annoying as I’d got right back in track having sorted my hormones. Have you tried Testosterone as part of your HRT? It’s a gamechanger IMO.
