Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

My BMI starts with 25 today! It's 25.9 so only just, but still happy with that. 6lbs till I'm back into what's considered a healthy weight so shoukd probably start thinking about maintenance/switching provider.

🥳🥳 congratulations!

The legs are out!
Wearing a really pretty summer dress, yesterday and today, that is just above the knee. One of my many slimmer-things that had been lying in wait in storage.
I feel a bit self conscious and strange after 15 years of covering up in maxi dresses; but I am loving the fresh air on my legs!

🥳🥳🥳 how fabulous! Well done you 💪🏻

So, I tried on the dress and technically it does fit but it buttons down the front and isn’t sitting perfectly in one area - oddly it fits over the hips but under the hips is slightly too tight. Maybe needs a couple more lbs off to be comfortable.

I used Skin & Me tretinoin treatment to sort out my hyoerpigmenetation. I think they usually have an offer on - £4.99 for your first month.

As for SPF I wear Beauty Pie facial SPF every day. It's mattifying and doesnt cause my make up to bobble and doesnt feel greasy either.

And… does it work? I’m also looking for something that actually work for the upper lip.

Thinking chemical peels in the salon.

Oh dear.., give yourself a break though if you have work stress - one day doesn’t out do the past 7 months of hard work. Tomorrow is another day, start the day with plenty of protein and have a wanky London salad 😉

You’ve got this 💪🏻

Oooft lesson learned. Woke up with a very unhappy tummy so will be swerving that behaviour in future! As you say, it's just one day. I was getting a but freaked out that old habits were creeping back in or the mounjaro had stopped working it's magic, but thankfully dh reminded me that everyone had days like that where you just want to eat for comfort (he's one of those naturally skinny people, so I felt reassured knowing he does actually have those days too!).

I'm all about the water and protein today - probably the things my body was looking for yesterday when I kept feeding it chocolate lol!

Yes 100% - I had patches of hyperpigmentation on my right cheek and they've completely gone now. You have to be carefully and wear spf 50 daily, especially during treatment as your skin becomes sensitive to the sun . Then afterwards to prevent the hyperpigmentation returning. Dermatica also prescribe tret but they don't gradually increase the dose like Skin & Me. So although you get faster results, it can feel a bit harsh on your skin at the start.

My friend just started MJ. And prior to her starting I said that her eating habits will change and her body will naturally crave the things that are good for you – vegetables, lean protein etc. She’s lost 8lbs in three weeks and now understands exactly what I meant… it was one day, you had a blow out and your body has told you off 😂 Pnwards and upwards today! Hope work is kind to you.

Morning!

My winter coats are all size 24 or 26
They are all too big now.

I was mooching about Next online and clicked on there clearance page.

They have branded, expensive ( to me) winter coats in their sale

I ordered 3 winter jackets

2 the same in a size 20 and 18.
I can fasten them both but the 18 is unflatteringly tight and the 20 fits but is not flattering. I absolutely love the colour and it’s snuggly warm.

The other one is lighter weight, more of an autumn jacket, it’s a size 20 and it’s marginally tight. I think 1/2 stone off and it will look better.

Even if I only lose 0.5 lb a week between now and Christmas that’s another stone off and I think they would fit and look better.

Realistically I could not afford 2 of these branded coats at full cost, but I can get 2 half price.

Also I want to hope that by the winter 2026 they will hopefully be too big so this is just for 1 winter.

So……
buy them both or just 1?

evilharpy · 18/06/2025 09:58

@lovealongbath honestly, you have months before you'll need to wear a proper winter coat and it's really hard to predict what size you'll be by then. I have been caught out by this, I thought I'd be in a 14 by my holiday but am actually closer to a 10 so two pairs of trousers I've bought on sale are far too big. Honestly I would buy neither and stalk vinted nearer the time for the exact coats you want.

Your right!

The 2 which are the same are going back, and I will keep the Autumnal one as it’s almost fitting, and I need a jacket as mine are all like sacks!

SerenePeer · 18/06/2025 10:54

I agree with @evilharpy ! My shape has changed more than it ever has with previous weight loss and you might get something even better on Vinted @lovealongbath

How amazing that mounjaro gives us the confidence to know we'll continue to lose weight. If someone had said to me last summer to buy 2 sizes smaller for this summer I would have laughed and laughed! Then I would have cried thinking about all the times I've bought something to slim into and failed miserably.

jay55 · 18/06/2025 11:13

@lovealongbathits brilliant progress whatever you keep. I find coat buying so stressful, always too tight on the hips, too warm for the tube, too frumpy and end up throwing on a hoody and hoping it stays dry.

This has definitely been me in the past. Such a source of disappointment and sadness when things don’t fit / sit unworn in the wardrobe, many with the tags on. Beating myself up about it whenever I see them and still can’t fit into them.

I’ve actually found that as I’ve finally slimmed into a lot of it I don’t even like some of the clothing items that much! Either they sit weirdly on me or I’m looking at them with a fresh pair of eyes and thinking ‘meh’. I have a HUGE pile of things to sell on vinted (thank goodness, freeing up space and hopefully will offset some of my Vinted splurging 😬🤭).

Has anyone noticed they are much more hungrier when they have their period? Tuesday is normally my least hungry day and yesterday I just kept nibbling and snacking (including mini eggs). I cooked chicken skewers with roasted veg, salad and rice last night and ate the lot!

Always hungrier the whole week before my period - whether I’m on MJ or not.

Annoyingly last year I got rid of loads of clothes that hadn’t fitted me for years - absolutely Sod’s Law!

My period’s due tomorrow or Fri and yes, always hungrier before it! Yesterday I ate a Lindor ball and a chunk of Toblerone, which is probably the most chocolate I’ve had in one day since I started MJ.

Yes me too- tried on some things last night and knew immediately they'd be going on Vinted!

I'm having a hungry few days in think. I'm not due on, so must be something else at play...I thought it was stress induced eating yesterday but I'm definitely paying more attention to food this week than I have been the past few weeks.

Ooh I love a winter coat update. My size 18 which was rather too snug (they didn’t have a size 20 so it wasn’t always zipped up) is very loose. I am going to get a 12 to replace it in hope that come November I can do the zip up

You may find by November the smaller size will be fine

flametrees · 18/06/2025 19:21

Just catching up. Love reading the success stories.

my new thing is disappearing boobs!
I’ve always been top heavy. 34h before I started MJ.
bought 34G and much too big still.
I have never ever ever lost boobage when I’ve lost weight before.

is anyone else loosing weight in a much different pattern to normal??
my whole shape has changed. It’s so weird. I mostly shop online as live very rurally and no decent shops near me and no idea what sizes to buy now.

still want to lose another stone.
goung very slowly.

jay55 · 18/06/2025 19:39

I swear my glasses are getting too big.

Yes to being hungrier around my period, just wish it wasn’t so irregular, so I could plan better for it. Damn peri. I’ve read of others who find mj totally doesn’t work during theirs.

I lost weight on top first but my boobs have come back a bit, and I’m finally losing from the bottom now, I’ve lost more of my actual bum than ever before, I’ve surprised myself in the mirror a couple of times lately, being far less duck like back there. So yes a little different to usual.

Claudette7934 · 18/06/2025 22:21

Legs. I’ve always had chunky legs, even when a size 8, 8 stone twenty something.

They are disconcertingly slim at the moment.

ooh love a good coat shop and autumn clothing in general!Personally, I’d go for the size 18 and go for it as I am an eternal optimist…but do you need more than one coat? have you factored in jumpers etc under the coat? Happy shopping!

Well, I no longer have a cycle, but every now and again I have a snacky day… I think it’s part of real life. Some days you feel like a bit of Cadburys, then as you feel a bit bloated/ill/got the runs as a result of the Cadburys, it becomes a less attractive option.😂 your dinner sounds delicious 😋

I’d recommend TU at Sainsbury’s for generous sizing and some really good prices. I bought a lovely pale blue long line coat last winter and swapped the buttons for some rather fetching gold ones and it made the whole coat look far more expensive 🥰
