Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I have just given myself a Nioxin treatment. If you are a daily hair washer, I would use Nioxin every other day.
This product goes a long way so no bigger than the size of 10p.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/06/2025 08:06

Oooh. Quite tempted by the nioxin stuff too.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/06/2025 08:11

Did you buy the system for light thinning or progressed thinning?

Mounjaropen · 13/06/2025 08:32

Happy Friday everyone!

Update from me: still haven’t lost the holiday weight despite trying… Have managed my 5X Pvolve, tennis times 2+ treadmill walks on the days I’m not playing tennis, but to no avail. Still 1.4lbs to go. Although that said, a number of people at the tennis club have commented on how much weight I’ve lost – and I don’t really know them all that well. Even my tennis coach thought I looked thinner this week so I hope I haven’t lost too much muscle mass!

We’ve got an early Father’s Day dinner tonight at a fancy restaurant in London, so hopefully my Rose diet will shift the last of it 😂 DH and I are off to a live rugby podcast thing at Hampton Court Palace on Sunday(it was a gift for him, not my bag) and I’m going to pack a lovely picnic to take as I think it is part of the festival this weekend.

In other news, someone has organised a bit of a school reunion in the coming weeks and the mean girl in our class has been invited apparently. And for once, I am thin! And that never happens… so I am taking that for the Win this week. I’m also planning a fabulous outfit. 😂

Happy Father’s Day for the chaps on here and to anyone who is celebrating it this weekend. Big hugs if you are missing someone on this day ❤️

Have a fantastic time this evening! Fingers crossed that 1.4 comes off with the help of the rose!

I fear rose was my downfall this week, conversely. Not much loss for me this week, just 0.4lbs from Saturday. One stubborn pound from the 4 stone klaxon and my lowest weight for years. On an exciting note though I’ve noticed that at some point my dashboard on the smart scales has changed from a sea of red to more ambers and some more greens! Including, gasp, visceral fat, which has improved from red (high) to green (average). My metabolic age has improved from being 7 years older than my real age (harrumph) to a mere 5 years older (slightly less grumpy harrumph).

Goldleafcat · 13/06/2025 09:37

phyllidafosset · 12/06/2025 23:12

I am trying to eat a huge amount of protein. I’m hoping that will help my muscle mass, but it is nice to know it might help the hair loss!!! I haven’t tried HRT. My symptoms haven’t been too impactful up to now, but if the little ones start to combine I might need to think about it. I was told years ago (10 years ago) that I wouldn’t be able to take it because I had a terrible reaction to the mini pill. But I guess things may have developed since then.I’m interested to know how your HRT journey goes!

I let you know! I think it’ll take a while to notice a lot… I had two friends who had an amazing experience initially (one felt like a shadow had lifted and a light bulb had gone on in her head, she could suddenly start writing again, had loads of ideas, and the other became super efficient and full of energy, clearing her house out and buzzing around), before it tapered off.

I’ve not experienced either yet, maybe the slow burn will be better in the long run?!

Officially registering that 4 stone loss 🥳 It's a double win this week as I've also now lost 20% of my starting weight!
I have a weird loss pattern on MJ, that I tend to drop a pound lighter by around Weds/Thurs and then it nudges back up for my Fri weigh in - I was 15st 8 yesterday. I'm just letting it be what it is though.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 13/06/2025 11:55

Whoopee @PinkArt 4 stone is absolutely amazing, and 20% of your starting weight. Super achievements. 👏👏😁

Wow, that’s incredible! Well done you!

DarkForces · 13/06/2025 12:53

Well done on all the fantastic losses. I wish I knew my starting weight and had dared to take photos to compare but my old wardrobe is falling off me now! Weigh in this morning was 10.4.6 stone down from about 14 when I started in early November. Goal is 9stone (at 5'3 this'll put me bang in middle of a healthy bmi) and maintenance call is booked for 19 Sept. It's incredible that in less than a year I should be able to be at a healthy weight from a mid 30s BMI.

Have I mentioned I love Mounjaro? It's a bloody miracle

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/06/2025 12:06

Wow, that’s incredible! Well done you!

It is, isn't it! Sometimes I feel like the slow learner when others on this group are at goal and wearing size 10s, but I need to be my own cheerleader as I'm doing pretty well in my own race.

Invisablepanic · 13/06/2025 14:38

Weigh in day today and I'm down another 2lbs so I'm now at 12st 7. I can't believe it sometimes.

Current goal is 12st (I'm just over 5"8), once I maintain that for 6months I'm going to look at a tummy tuck.

DarkForces · 13/06/2025 15:26

@PinkArt I've learnt that lesson too. I've lost less than you if it's any consolation but every micro gram off is making me healthier and deserves a celebration. It's very much an individual thing getting to the finish line and at times it's felt like a plod (and still got some way to go). You have done amazingly. Well done

flametrees · 13/06/2025 15:56

@Goldleafcat I’m not that impressed with the stylist report. Light spring which I knew but I thought I’d get hair colour ideas but it’s an extra £75 for colour idea and a further £75 for style. Already spent £250 for a pretty generic report.

IHateMozzies · 13/06/2025 17:03

I haven’t checked in for weeks! I’m into the 12’s now 🙌. Haven’t seen that for about 8 years!

14 years ago before my sons wedding i had a tummy tuck and liposuction. I was 9.5 st then. it was life changing. i'd had tummy apron skin from major surgery and a hysterectomy. Now all these years on my mid section is still looking good compared to my wrinkly arms and melted candle thighs. I'm 65 and wearing all these with pride, thanks to MJ I'm finally happy with myself. I've had my Mum staying from overseas for the last few weeks and my diet has gone a bit wonky. too many carbs and too much Cadburys. They're her favourites but she's 90 so I go with the flow. I've got maintenance call on 15 July, I'm so ready for it. Fluctuating between 120-124 lbs. I never thought `i'd see this weight again. This is the weight that my lovely skinny sister has been for the last 49 years while I've gone up and up.

Keep going! Brilliant results.

I am very hungover.. we did NOT need the extra Singapore slings at Raffles post dinner so I am not hopeful for a loss when I weigh in later 😂

In a bizarre coincidence, I fell into a film rabbit hole late at night earlier this week - four weddings and a funeral (love that film) and last night we were sat at a table at the restaurant only for Simon Callow to be sat two tables down from us.

In other news, for the first time in years on a hot day in London, I wore a close fitting dress with only a bra and knickers underneath. Zero shapewear…for the first time since forever I was not a sweaty mess by the time I arrived at the restaurant 🥳 And in general, I sweat so much less than before it is remarkable. Anyone else finding that?

Perfect!

When you use cleanser, only 1 shampoo.
Scalp therapy, is for the scalp! Do not apply it like a conditioner to your hair. Leave it on for a few minutes, it will tingle. Any residue when rinsing will run through your hair so give a conditioning effect.
The treatment, put the end of the nozzle to scalp and press to release liquid and move nozzle across scalp at same time so your spreading the liquid rather than jet spraying one area. I would recommend 3-4 presses of nozzle in total across the worst effected area, So if it’s the top area, go across the top area then let the liquid naturally run down the sides and back.

A little goes a long way, don’t go crazy.

Thanks so much @lovealongbath for taking the time to explain this so well. I was wondering how to use it.

I went for the more progressive thinning @TooExtraImmatureCheddar . Think I need the big guns! Will report back how it goes .
