Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@phyllidafosset do you think Oushk would support every other month for maintenance? Would be great to get the costs down!

The flexi plan allows you to order at whatever rate you want I think as long as you pay the £15pcm

@jay55 the self righteousness about the ‘golden’ dose makes me laugh. What do they think is in it??

I’m also unclear. I mean, I don’t take it myself but there is no way that the remainder liquid differs from the 4 doses?

Me too. The melty candle description fits the top of my thighs perfectly and when I sit there's a definite marshmallow to my tummy. I'm trying to focus on the good stuff though. I can feel bones I haven't in about a decade and my clothes look great. I'm so pleased with my body and I've spent too much time feeling fat. I'm embracing the new me and wearing that fecking bikini!

🥳👙

I have my maintenance call booked with Oushk for a few weeks time. Can I ask what it involved? Do you weigh yourself in front of them, or undress? How long did it take? Thanks

Mine was on the phone - they rang me as I lost track of time! No photos needed for me - I need to contact them when I am at target weight,

Hello everyone!

Apologies for the radio silence. I managed to smash my phone... Dropped it on a tiled floor. An expensive mistake, and then I had to wait for a replacement and set it up etc etc.

SW 100 kg almost exactly 1 year ago
SW Mounjaro 93.1 kg
CW 71.2 kg
BMI 23.5
GW something just under 70 kg...

I just realised that I could hit the 30 kg weight loss mark within the next 2-3 weeks. That's apparently the same as a sack of cement. I would definitely like to get there by the time I see my oncologist (who talked me into all of this last summer) on 7 July. What a difference a year makes!

So lovely to hear from you! Glad all is well with the oncologist 🥰

30kgs is fantastic! Congratulations!

Brilliant. At £15pm it'd still reduce my costs massively. It's very weird to even think about maintenance but half a stone a month feels realistic so it's in sight. I remember back at the start I refused to even think about setting myself a timescale for my goal weight but if all goes to plan that's less than a year. What an incredible investment.

I’m also unclear. I mean, I don’t take it myself but there is no way that the remainder liquid differs from the 4 doses?

I’m generally too lazy for the faff but the liquid is there same but I guess there’s a risk of mismeasuring the quantity but it’s so little I can’t imagine it you can “over dose”.

Sad news I’m our home today, my wonderful dog needs to be put to sleep. Vet coming tomorrow. I’m heartbroken. He nearly reached his 5th birthday. Cancer sucks in humans and dogs. I usually comfort eat but have completely lost my appetite. Dreading telling the children.

I’m going to investigate maintenance. I’ve been so nervous to change provider so need to get my head around it. I’ll also double check Asda online doesn’t offer similar.

Booked in hope I will be ready for maintenance by then

DD called to ask if I had tried on the Sweaty Betty active leggings she got me at Christmas size large. Well, dear readers, they fit! I didn’t have to breathe in or pull them up using the wiggle jiggle technique pausing for a rest half way.

🥳 at SB leggings that fit!

I've been awol and missed practically a whole thread! Hope you are all doing well, and are at more moving closer to maintenance!

I have maintained for nearly two months now. Having thought that I would come off MJ, I'm now not so sure. The ravenous hunger at the end of the week of 2.5mg did worry me. But I'm getting a bit better about it, and so I am eeking my jabs to once every 10 days, which also makes them a bit cheaper. I have a big long holiday in July/August, so I'm going to get another pen, and then skip that month (I won't be able to take it with me), and then see what happens. No exercise and no pen is a bit worrying, but hopefully I'm fitter and will still be active! And thanks to Oushk, and my gym habit, I'm not worried because I can undo any damage I might do, when I get home.

When I come back, I may go back to my 10 days. BUT I can't stay just on 2.5mg (once every 4 weeks) because I lose weight on it, and my clever gym machine tells me I need to build muscle density and fat! I am doing pump, pilates, step and zumba, and so that should build the muscle density. It is going up from March, when it was at it's lowest, but it definitely needs to go up. I'm also eating SO much more protein than I was doing pre-MJ!

So, I'm still in a very much exploratory life-after-MJ phase.

The weird thing is that although I have weighted less in my life, and I have been smaller, I somehow still look smaller. It is that body shape change. I have much less bum (sad), less defined waist (also sad) more boobs than when I was in my 20s (pre kids), and I think possibly a slightly wider rib-cage. So less curves. BUT I'm clearly slimmer, and SO much fitter than I have been for ages!

My hair is also falling out thick and fast!?! I thought it was MJ, but I'm now wondering if it is perimenopause. So I'm contemplating joining you all on the collagen journey too!

As @Mounjaropen said, the flexi plans means you can order when you want. But you can also order one pen and inject every 10 days (keeps you inside that 30 day use-by-date for the pen). That stretches a pen to 40 days. That is bit more expensive. That is what I'm doing (at Oushk's recommendation) at until I go on holiday. They suggested better that than trying less than 2.5mg at a time.

Amazing! Well done! Such an achievement in a year, you are so right!

I’m going away for a week in July to a place we went to last September, when I was 3+ stone heavier than I am now. It’s kind of hard to believe really!

Hope it all goes well with the oncologist.

Ooh - make sure you compare before and after 🥰

After a couple of months I’ve not stepped on the scales for over a week, possibly two. Trying to get back to better eating habits despite the stresses life keeps throwing. Anyway, 3lbs down, I’m 10st 3lbs. I’m not expecting to go under 10 - I don’t want to lose my curves bum/boobs. I remember in my 20s 10st 3 was my top end weight though where I’d skip a meal one day and lose 2lbs when I hit the 10st 3 mark. Now it’s a weight I’m happy with. Whoop whoop.

Fab news! 🥳

Morning all! Some amazing losses on here since I last looked - well done @PinkArt and everyone else!

I’ve been having a bit of a rocky time post holiday - was supposed to jab on Sun, having skipped a dose while on holiday, but I developed labyrinthitis on Sat. I think it was self-inflicted - got really drunk with friends on Fri, woke up on Sat and the room started spinning. I was so hungover I thought it was that, but the dizziness carried on all weekend and I rang the dr yesterday and now I have travel sickness pills. I finally jabbed this morning and just hoping it doesn’t make the labyrinthitis worse.

Oh no! My friend had that recently (not on WLI) and she was floored by it. Hope you feel better soon!

Morning all, I lost just over another pound last week, so back to losing again, albeit more slowly which is fine, better than the month long plateau I had!

I’ve been wondering about collagen and I know lots of you are taking it. Does it work? Has anyone tried Nutrition Geeks Glow up powder? Does it actually taste of nothing? Are capsules better?

Next thing on the list is swimwear and I am toying with a (tummy control) bikini. I like some of the Cupshe designs but my bum is still verging on an 18 in certain brands, so I’m worried about whether they will fit as I think they only go up to 16.

I also looked at Bloomchic, and whilst my boobs are a 34F, they aren’t actually that big and all the pictures show ladies with generous boobs.

Any reviews welcome!

Edited

Congrats on the loss!

I’m on the revive collagen sachets which are hydrolysed Marine collagen drinks of about 30mls or so. Easy to take on the go and No need to add to anything so works for me as I am black coffee girl and I don’t drink shakes.

For swimwear, I have always gone for one that fits my boobs first and then everything else follows. Miraclesuit is a great brand but they are ££’s. They also don’t last that long. M&S’s website is up again today so have a nose there maybe?

to be clear - £15pcm allows you to be on their ‘current patient’ list. The jabs are extra on top, but you don’t need to go back to square one or get fat again to gain access to MJ.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Mine is also not himself at the moment - DD thought he was pining because we were away but he is not himself. Giant dogs last less time than smaller so I knew this day was coming.

It is EXACTLY this which is why their maintenance plan is so amazing. Because you can go back onto it if you slip. It doesn't have to be the long slippery slide back to where you were before you are allowed to go onto it. That security is WELL worth that £15 a month for me.

MounjNewb · 10/06/2025 15:33

I have used all the liquid in all my pens and can attest to the fact that the last dose works every bit as well as the first 4 - what planet.......😂

Don't worry. I get what you mean. £15 per month to stay on the books plus pens as needed so I'd reduce my costs to 6 pens pa plus £15 pm if I can maintain when taking every other month

@TeenLifeMum I am so so sorry to hear about your dog. It's heartbreaking, but only 4 years old is especially rotten for you.

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar Labyrinthitis..... Poor you, Ive had it, it's awful. Get lots of rest!

Really good to hear about everyone's maintenance journeys and plans, I am trailing behind you as I still have 13lb to lose, but It's really good to know there is support and continuing plans for us when we reach our final target, and to counteract the awful scaremongering about putting weight back on again.

New NSV: Because my bottom is smaller I sit further back in the seat and now have a more leg room in theatre seats! 👏😁

@TeenLifeMumso sorry about your dog. That’s heartbreaking.

I’ve just signed up for an image consultant to assess my shape and colours etc. I’ve had it done before but I think this one is more detailed. I want to improve my image over all.
