Mounjaro starters Nov ‘24 Thread 10 - The one where we are very nearly beach body ready 🥳

Welcome to thread 10 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we’ve successfully navigated Easter and head towards Summer Holiday Season. Stop here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W25 D1 and on my second 7.5mg pen

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 9lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 44lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Good to hear about all you skinny Minnie’s!
checking in

GW 11st?
after dithering I brought some size 14 chinos and they fit, wow! actually not even tight.
had so many people say how good I’m looking, although not minimising the weight loss I never thought possible over 2st it’s incredible how much it’s improved my confidence and in reality I think that’s what people are seeing it’s not just the weight loss, it’s not the life changing amount you read about 8 st etc etc weight loss etc but my goodness that 2 st loss is a life changer it really is

Love everyone’s stories and taking positives about skin just needing time to catch up!

Having a blood test today as hair loss can also be iron deficiency which is something I’ve suffered with in the past

Ooh good luck with the blood test! Are you tired too?

Going on a family holiday tomorrow 3.5 stone lighter than when I started in November - what a good feeling! Love that I'm not worried about clothes, not worried about what I will be eating ( jabbing tomorrow as normal before we fly). Still 2.5 stone to go (more 3)but the brain space is wonderful. So glad I found out about MJ on mumsnet!

woohoo! Have a fabulous time! Brilliant losses! Congratulations!

@jay55 & @StarShapedWindow I'm soooo close. 16 stone 0.1 pounds. Roughly the weight of a deck of cards before I drop that stone bracket.
It's days like this I hate that my scales are so reliable - with my shitty old ones I could have just shuffled them around until I found a floorboard I'm lighter on 😂

Tomorrow will be the day 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@jay55 your poor thing, that sounds horrendous, I bet you felt much better after if left your system. Thank God you made it home!

@Goldleafcat it’s a lot better now thanks, not lifting babies/toddlers anymore definitely helps, plus never wearing high heels.

Personally I’d take the offer of stronger painkillers - if you don’t need them great but if it gets worse you’re covered.

@PinkArt so close to the next stone down and your second target! 🎉🎉

@Mounjaropen I bet you don’t look more haggard at all! One of the reasons I started MJ was because I went to a health spa with my husband for a weekend and I noticed the older slimmer women looked better than the younger larger women - horribly vain and judgemental I know and I love the body confidence movement but I’m 46 and programmed to see slim as the holy grail.

Also J had really bad loose wrinkly skin on my thighs about ) weeks ago and it’s improved a lot. I haven’t done anything to it - no lotions etc. it’s just firmed up.

Ooh good news about the skin - although at my age I won’t be as lucky as you I don’t think…😩

Yes I have been feeling bit flat.

My doctor was really positive about Mounjaro. I went in with the mindset of telling her how great it is and what a difference it has made to me, but she was already pro Mounjaro

i just hope that they will be able to prescribe it soon to everyone that needs it.

Finally down a pound today. Hard fought. Have had a stall for two weeks.

Anyone using protein powder? My dietician suggested it as my protein intake isn’t great. I always thought it was a bit of a fad and more for gym goers.

Weekly check in time for me following a couple of weeks of very minimal losses.

W26 D1
12.5mg dose
SW 16st 4lbs
CW 12st 3.8lbs
GW 10st(ish)
Total loss 4st 0.2lbs

Rosette for me having cracked another stone bracket having been on the cusp since early April. I also got told this week by someone at work I haven't seen in a while that I look...different. The ellipsis was exactly how they said it. I pointed out I had new glasses and the conversation swiftly moved on.

In sadder news, my local cheap things store has no more Vimto ice pops in stock and the Slush Puppies ones they do have are nowhere near as good. I'm coping with the loss, but it is a Herculean effort.

Sending prayers. Also well done getting into next stone bracket! 🏵️ Rosette very much deserved!

Maybe try posh Waitrose Ice pops as a treat?

I’ve bought some, as well as creatine. We look at each other every morning but I haven’t taken the protein powder yet! Mine seems to be white chocolate flavoured so I should try it, I’d probably love it.

Congratulations on shifting the stubborn pound!

I was recommended protein powder too because of my hair loss. I also thought it was for beefing up gym types but was told it’s not and I should have a scoop a day to aid my protein intake. I haven’t bought any because I hate adding things to drinks (it always ruins the taste) and I don’t like sweet drink. I think I’m going to try to eat 2 chicken breasts a day instead.

I've ordered some, it's being delivered today. I've gone for a strawberry and banana shake and a clear one in I think lemon flavour. My protein intake is woeful at the moment and I really feel underfuelled when I exercise.

If you're ever after a fancier ice pop, the Pola ones are amazing. The rhubarb one is so good but they also do boozy ones.

SerenePeer · 10/05/2025 10:50

Morning jabbers. Hurrah for the weekend and it's actually warm and sunny here, so double yay! Annoyingly I have a grumpy husband and a grumpy teenager. One has a headache and is feeling abandoned because I have a full day planned today that doesn't involve him. The other one is cross because the pressure washer is fooked and he has to use just a simple hose, a bucket and soapy water to wash his bike. The absolute injustice of it all!

I started using protein powder so I eat breakfast. I don't want sweeteners etc so I just have unflavoured whey. My current formula means I get nearly 48g protein (36g if we're excluding collagen) & 16g fibre for 381 calories which feels like a good deal. (Chia seeds, inulin, Greek yogurt, cocoa, banana, collagen)

Afternoon all
SW 13st 3lb
CW 10st 1lb
goal weight : still aiming to get to midpoint of healthy BMI -not far to go now
I am actually starting to feel slim ish now. It’s such a fab feeling. Although so many of my clothes from jackets, work out gear etc etc are all baggy now. I’ve been going down the trouser sizes as I had no choice but could really do with a complete wardrobe overhaul. Quite a nice position to be in. I cannot complain. But I still don’t trust myself not to fall back into my dreadful old ways…..so can’t decide whether to donate the baggy wardrobe items or store them for a rainy (chubbier)day.

Hello all! I am at the end of my first week in ‘maintenance’ (2.5 jab last week). Am definitely hungrier, although it is also that mindset of permitting myself a little more. I am 1.2lbs higher, but I had given myself a buffer to work with so as long as I can ensure it isn’t a trend, that is okay.

I guess the thing that is hard is keeping on those smaller sized portions and continuing to say no to sweet stuff (and breakfast).

The hunger hasn’t been unbearable but I feel like I have to work harder to restrict.

Off to walk the dog now.

It’s great news that you are so self-aware, isn’t it? I think we all accept that we’ll probably put a little weight back on during maintenance but it’s about keeping up the habits that we know have let us reach maintenance in the first place. Keep going!

I think we;re all nervous about going back to the larger self, but keep doing what you know has worked and I’m sure you’ll be fine. Keep the good bits in storage and vinted/boot sale the rest I reckon!
