Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Wow - that was a lot of posts to catch-up on this morning!

Thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen 👏

Total loss of 32 lbs so running total up to 1078lbs (OMG - that's insane!)

Have started to cut my dose, moving from 9 to 7.5mg for my jab Sunday gone. Oddly, suppression feels stronger this week - MJ effect certainly not predictable.

Steadily trying to increase my food intake a bit to have a soft landing in a lb or so's time....

My Oushk appointment isn't until late May, so will have to order another pen or two from Simple Online Pharmacy - they have the odd mention of maintenance now on their website, so will be interesting to see if they accept the order based on where I'm now at.

Morning all, as of today my total weight loss is 32lbs, so -

1046 + 32 =1,078

Well done! Fab losses 👏

Do you know what your BMR is? It would be unlikely that you will lose weight consistently if you go below that level so it might be that you’re just not eating enough? My BMR for comparison is around 1417 but it does fluctuate. It might be worth just doing some research on your ownBMR and TDEE?

My BMR is just over 1200 cals. I can see from tracking that the weeks I eat closer to that I don’t lose. And the weeks I eat 1000 or below I lose. I never include my exercise calories as ‘extra’. I am very short and clearly need to eat a loss less than a taller person. Sucks for me!!

Well done on the losses! Fantastic result. Interesting about your suppression when titrating down. How amazing to be within a lb or two of your GW.

Ooh @MounjNewbyou are so skinny!! I ordered from oushk before I had my maintenance consultation. I will have ordered 2 or 3 pens by the time I have the call.

Is there anything in the macros which would provide an explanation for the variance? More protein for example? A pasta dish or two? Creme egg maybe (or is that just me, lol)

Oops - missed @RayonSunrise addition to the running total so adding mine:

1078+32 = 1110

Cantbesure · 26/03/2025 10:40

@MounjaropenI try to eat around 50-60g of protein but might start adding a low cal shake a day to see if upping it helps. As a veggie I’m doing my best to get my protein in whilst keeping my cals low. I’m eating within my carbs/fat/sugar etc. Calories in seems to be the most consistent correlation to losses. I’m not cutting out carbs as that isn’t going to be the way I eat once off MJ but I have reduced them and now measure etc.

Im exercising (walking, swimming, running, using dumbbells at home, occasional gym visits). I’m also going to make sure I’m better at drinking water this week.

Well it does sound like you are doing all of the right things, but as I am sure you are aware, a really low calorie diet (even if you are not very tall!) is not ideal long term. I agree that not cutting out carbs is realistic - especially if you are not a meat/fish eater.

Wishing you a whoosh this week!

I bought a pair of size 16 jeans from M&S yesterday using my sparks discount code. They fitted perfectly, no tugging or breathing in encouragement required in spite of the jelly belly 😄

I reckon I am a stone away from a comfortable size 14.

Mounjaropen · 25/03/2025 20:46

OMG. Awesome if you could actually use it all…😩

33lbs off is fab 👏

True story. 😆🤣 I know I keep on, but seriously. Copy and paste your referral code with a little message if you are with Medexpress, or anyone really. Those threads are obviously VERY active. I’ve had three more today. 😮 So £1120 in referral credit since the tenth of March 😆🤣

Weigh in day and a gain this week!

I decided to drop down a few clicks as we were going out for lunch on Sunday. It was a buffet lunch and I really enjoyed it! Ate loads, but not a ridiculous amount. Had no suppression yesterday and got a chinese for tea.

Some weeks you just need a week off! Only half a lb on so not that bad. Off to Centre Parcs this weekend, so should get lots of walking in x

So happy and totally not jealous for you 😂
I've just done a bit of thread spamming over there in the hope some of your luck rubs off.

qotsa · 26/03/2025 14:18

@Mounjaropen😭 @PinkArt I’m not sure why mines suddenly become so used. I guess it’s off here but not sure. It’s no where else anyway. Honestly wish I could dish them all out. So bloody expensive this stuff.

I changed over from Lloyds to Oushk this week, as I’m now around halfway to goal and am thinking ahead to maintenance. It was very easy, probably because I have honest answers to all the screening questions, and an active prescription! It was cheaper too - I’ve saved £30 on the 7.5mg pen from Lloyds.

Goldleafcat · 26/03/2025 16:13

Exciting for all those with the new jeans! 👖

I’m wearing a pair of size 18 M&S bootcut jeans which are too big (thank goodness for belts) but I tried on some size 16s I have in a drawer (bought yonks ago, tags still on, in a straight style) and no chance! I did however find a pair of size 18 M&S ‘magic shaping’ jeans (a forgotten drawer full of stuff I’d clearly purchased then put away sadly quite some time ago!) and they fit fine. I find anything magic or shaping seems to work by hoisting you in like a corset!

I too have ordered some size 16s from vinted in the hope they might fit if not now, then soon!

I may have also splurged on a denim dress from Scamp & Dude in their sale which I can just about zip up but will look a lot better when I lose another 10lbs or so. Slightly naughty 😄

qotsa · 26/03/2025 16:25

woohoo for belts on jeans and a lovely new dress! I listened to the founder of Scamp and Dude on R4 last week (think it was the programme Gap Finders) really interesting and she sounded absolutely lovely.

My fancy gold blouse arrived today beautiful packaging (so it bloody should be!) - size 12 and my still-huge-but-tameable norks fitted in a treat. I shall be wearing it on Sunday!

@qotsa, please can you post a link to the magic discount thread?

qotsa · 26/03/2025 20:10

@PinkArt @Mounjaropen so six today alone. Over 30 now. 😆 @TooExtraImmatureCheddar I just searched a few times myself for the words ‘Medexpress, discount code and Mounjaro’ as I figured that’s what I’d look for. I just did a little paragraph saying what I’d lost and how using my code would mean £40 off for both of us. That’s it. I copied and pasted it to whichever came up until it said no more today, which I think is maybe 8? Pretty sure the last time I did it was December though and now 30+ emails since 10/03 😮 actually do feel it’s a glitch or something. £1240 later. Got a 10mg pen this week with six months of vitamins to try and use some of the credit.
