Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@PinkArt @Mounjaropen so six today alone. Over 30 now. 😆 @TooExtraImmatureCheddar I just searched a few times myself for the words ‘Medexpress, discount code and Mounjaro’ as I figured that’s what I’d look for. I just did a little paragraph saying what I’d lost and how using my code would mean £40 off for both of us. That’s it. I copied and pasted it to whichever came up until it said no more today, which I think is maybe 8? Pretty sure the last time I did it was December though and now 30+ emails since 10/03 😮 actually do feel it’s a glitch or something. £1240 later. Got a 10mg pen this week with six months of vitamins to try and use some of the credit.

I did a search to find your code and tried googling it but couldn't find anything online. It's amazing but so weird. If it's being shared on tiktok or something, why isn't the content creator sharing their own?!

KentishMama · 26/03/2025 22:01

Checking in!

And with an image as I can't be bothered to type out all out - but I'm getting pretty close to a healthy BMI, and I'm really hoping I'll make it before our holiday in three weeks' time.

Seeing my endocrinologist for the first time since starting Mounjaro next week. I'm not quite sure what the appointment will involve. Maybe blood tests? Any ideas?

In other news, I've decided to try 5 mg again this week, after 7 weeks on 3.75. Let's see if I get side effects again - but I thought it's worth a shot!

@SquadGoalz@PinkArt I’ve literally only shared it on some threads on here. Like I say I did copy and paste it a few times, a few times, months ago, but that’s it. I don’t do TikTok or whatever. Only FB and Instagram and Thats just for family stuff. That’s why I’m so 😮 it’s bizarre. to start with I thought it must be in a group of some friends group chat or something and even then said I can’t believe they’re not doing mine first then passing on their own between them after. It’s mental. I know I should be really pleased but I cannot spend that much and just wish it was shareable. 🤦🏻‍♀️ even if I’d got it at the start of my journey in November I still probably wouldn’t be able to spend that much 😮

Good morning friends! Still another day at 11st 0.6lbs. Hoping tennis, 💩 and Pvolve today will shift the scales towards a 10 😭

Interesting article about collagen in The Times today. There should be a share token with this but if there isn’t try either ‘show reader’ on your search bar line (looks like three lines to the left of the search bar) or let me know and I’ll repost the article if you are interested. I do have a referral code for the collagen I use (Revive Collagen) which is worth £20 off if anyone would benefit from it, let me know.

Email I received today is also worth £22 off at Oushk before 2nd April BDAY22 in case that is of use to anyone.

Should you put collagen in your cappuccino?

Celebrities are popularising the trend — the experts are sceptical

Spookily I’ve just made a coffee and about to add my collagen!

If you are adding collagen to coffee, my word of caution is to be make sure the coffee is not too scalding. I use a Tassimo machine in my home office and it makes the drinks pretty hot - I found some weird and vaguely unsettling thing was happening to the collagen (not unlike a weird biology experiment) but when the coffee is just that little bit cooler, all fine!

Thank you for the discount codes.

It’s haircut and highlights day today. I have long, straight hair. I love the idea of a long fringe but whenever I mention it the hairdressers they don’t seem too keen to recommend it for me… I’ve got a different stylist today so will see how it goes. I mean, it’s not like I’m asking for a Mohican. I’m also tempted by a long bob but a bit nervous. 😬

Oops - missed @RayonSunrise addition to the running total so adding mine:

1078+32 = 1110

I am on my weight loss days of the week, and so I can add myself to our collective weight loss.

1078+38=1,116

I love reading all of the clothes, weight, inches, fitness and BMI wins! It really is incredible. I am getting close to my original goal weight, although I have decided to keep going until it is a bit lower. I am starting to think about maintenance, and I wanted to ask all of you how everyone feels about keeping that chat in this thread, or if it should move to a different thread? I am thinking about those who are working towards goal weight, and if it might feel like your thread was derailed or less focused on that very important journey (with the ups and downs)?

@Mounjaropen and all you lovely people, what are your thoughts?

TeenLifeMum · 27/03/2025 08:55

I miss doing satisfying poos this month!

I think it would be really useful if you could share your maintenance journey and routine in this chat. At some point we will all be needing to have one and it would be useful to understand different experiences. A bit like when we started this journey and some of us had read existing threads on MJ. Obviously, we all have varying amounts to lose so we won’t all finish at the same time so it would be good to continue and keep cheering on those of us who might need a bit more time.🥰

Congratulations on the loss! I had a fringe for years and constantly had the hairdresser nagging me to get rid of it. I think I did look younger when I had it, but it is a faff to maintain. I think a bit like the eyebrow lady knows what shape will suit your face. It’s a similar situation with hairstyles and it may be that their experiences that your face shape either Will or won’t suit a fringe? I agree a different stylist might have an alternative opinion though.

I’ve just had a good hour trying on old jeans that were at the back of my walk-in wardrobe. I literally had to move boxes of crap before I could get to them. It was such a long time ago that I ventured towards the back that my boot cut jeans are now back in fashion (or at least Ithink they are?)

I’m going to spend a good amount of time on Saturday having a wardrobe cull and remove my fat clothes. I don’t think I’m brave enough to get rid of them just yet until I have been through maintenance and stop taking MJ but my clothes have managed to creep into everyone else’s wardrobe over the past 15 years. We’ve also got a house remodelling coming up so I need to be ruthless in what I take to the new space. 💪

@Goldleafcat I had my hair cut last week. It’s always around the between the shoulder blades length. Haven’t had it above shoulder length since I was a teenager. Now 48. Had it chopped to a long bob last week, one that is a little longer around the face. I love it. Think it must be me not feeling like I need to hide my double chin behind my hair any more 😆

Aaaaaand another 2 referrals this morning…..

RayonSunrise · 27/03/2025 10:22

@MounjaropenWould love to read the collagen & coffee story, but the share link isn’t working for me. (Why in coffee? I love coffee. I am intrigued.)

Have suddenly hit a weird period since my last 7.5mg injection late Sunday evening. My appetite is gone - and I mean really gone. I had a normal day on Tuesday up til dinner, then we went out to mark a birthday and while I was expecting to not eat a whole restaurant portion I found I could barely touch it.

Yesterday I managed very little - half an English muffin with hummus at lunch (tried an apple, failed more than a couple of bites), then a small portion of carbonara and salad at dinner. I should be ravenous this morning, but I’m not. And I’ve another 7.5 pen arriving today.

This does not feel right. Has anyone else experienced this, and is it just adjusting to the 4th jab after moving up to the higher dose pen? Do I need to up my exercise? Because I’ll be taking half-doses if I’m not hungrier by Saturday, losses or not.

Cantbesure · 27/03/2025 10:30

I’ve just bitten the bullet and ordered 10mg for my next pen. My losses are def stalling again. I’ve got 2 more doses of my 7.5mg pen. I used the £22 oushk discount.

is There a benefit to adding collagen to coffee? I can’t read behind the firewall.

cadburyegg · 27/03/2025 10:43

haven’t posted on these threads since before Christmas! I feel very deflated, the jabs are definitely working because I just don’t feel hungry but it’s still extremely slow weight loss.

SW 12st 10lb
CW 11st 3lb
GW 9st 7lb

We go on holiday on the 7th and I was really hoping to be under 11st by then but I am not convinced it’s going to happen. My bmi is 28.7 so still high.

Anyway, posting for accountability and all that jazz.

lovealongbath · 27/03/2025 10:50

Morning everyone,
@lovealongbath is back, yay!

After my chocolate eating on Sunday I am delighted that it didn’t sabotage my loss this week and I am in the 15 stone bracket this week 🤪

Weekly weigh in on 3.25mg dose..
SW 18st 4
CW 15 stone 12.6lbs
1.5lb loss this week
total loss so far 2 stone 5.4lbs
SBMI 43
CBMI 38

I set myself a challenge that I would cycle 30 miles
and walk a minimum of 50k steps..
Well, I failed. I didn’t cycle at all and I managed 47741 steps in the week.

Challange for this week is to cycle 20 miles and walk 60k steps. I have no grandchildren to hinder me this week and the days shall be longer so I will try hard to achieve this.

Well done to everyone on the great losses, we can do 💪

What do you count as slow? You've lost about the same amount as me and I started on 9 November. It's been a steady c.1.3lb/week and a big difference in how I look, so although not super fast I'm quite happy with it. And hopefully it gives skin times to adjust.

Caplin · 27/03/2025 10:57

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!

I have a denim jumpsuit from Phase Eight which I love and wear to death, I got it back in September. Since then I’ve lost 3.5 st but I still cling to it as I love it so much and it has a tie belt so I figured it was still ok. Anyway, finally found one on Vinted, but in a size 16 which is a size smaller than I am now, new without tags. So I figured I would pop it away and look forward to it. Well, it arrived today and only bloody well fits me!!!!!!

My last one was a 20, so I am delighted!!!! TBF it is clearly generous sizing as I was probably a size 22 and in denial last year, but still, a 16!

weigh in tomorrow, but as of today I lost 2lbs this week, although 1/2 always seems to creep back on by Friday. But still, onwards!!!!

off to buy bras tomorrow as I need to admit mine are all too big on the back now.

I had this for a while when I first moved up to 5mg, it was disconcerting and a bit depressing, but it did improve. It took a few weeks though to settle. I’m on the verge of moving up to 7.5mg as I thought I was starting to feel snackish again and had a plateau but actually my weight loss has picked back up and I have a nice, livable level of suppression. So might order another 5mg and see what happens.

lovealongbath · 27/03/2025 11:41

I calculated my loss by pen.

Pen 1 - 2.5mg, 4 weeks = 14lbs
Pen 2 - 2.5mg, 5 weeks = 8.3lbs
Pen 3 - 2.5mg, 5 weeks = 5 lbs
Pen 4 - 3.25mg 5 weeks = 6.5 lbs

Today is day 1 of 5th pen and I have moved up to 3.5mg today.

I agree with @qotsa if you have a code, share it on the sharing thread.
I no longer share my code as I have received the maximum credit allowed so I am currently sharing a friends code who is not on MN and I think she has had about 18 referrals in 2 weeks.

qotsa · 27/03/2025 12:23

@lovealongbath funny as when I looked at the T and Cs on Medexpress re using your credit and stuff, I saw ‘maximum in one year £4000’ and thought blimey, that would take some doing. Now in under three weeks I’m at £1320 😮 definitely get sharing people.

I’ve lost the same as you @Oceangrey and I do understand about feeling frustrated at seeing all the huge losses and wondering why mine has been slower. But we are only in competition with ourselves. And I know without MJ I’d still be at my starting weight.
