Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I’m just a smidge over 10 stone now so at goal weight but looking to go to about 9st 12 to give me a bit of leeway. I’m going to try microdosing once I get to 9st 12 as I’ve got two 7.5mg pens in the fridge which I can use for a 3.75mg weekly dose for a while to ease me back into normality. I’m actually terrified of coming off Mounjaro as I had such awful food noise all my life and was obsessed with food prior to going on the jabs. It has been life changing for me to feel unbothered by food and I’m not looking forward to my brain going back to how it was.

Della82 · 19/04/2025 22:02

@LilyRose88 that is my fear too. Hopefully we have learnt some good habits during the process. Well done for reaching target

MsRumpole · 20/04/2025 08:59

Morning everyone! Happy Easter.

I am considering going up to 7.5mg for my next pen - how have people found the transition from 5 to 7.5?

I found that the first week was a little bit challenging as I felt quite nauseous and had no appetite at all. I had to remind myself to eat. Week 2 was much easier. It did give my weight loss a little boost and now I feel absolutely fine. HTH.

murraymcgill · 20/04/2025 09:54

So I done my 15mg injection on Friday today I've woke up this morning with it all bruised and a kinda lump behind it anyone had this?

murraymcgill · 20/04/2025 09:56

I had no problems moving to 7.5mg. The suppression kicked in more and I had a good weight loss. It seems to have stalled again now so I’m wondering if I’d should move up to 10. I have done 8 weeks of 7.5mg.

I get a reaction every time I jab. Weirdly, the reaction gets worse as the week goes on. I get a bit red mark, which is sometimes raised and itchy. I got a bruise the other week as well but that week I much have hit a little vein because I had a dot of blood after. My reactions last two weeks, going down and slowly fading after one. But they help me remember which leg to jab next 🤣 I have read that antihistamine helps, but I already use those for hay fever, and still get them. I only got them on 5ml, not on 2.5.

Well done for getting to goal! I'm also terrified at what might happen if I come off MJ...think a lot of us are, so you're not alone!

I struggled and had to go back down to 5mg, then work my way up gradually to 7.5mg. No issues when I did it that way.

Well done! I’ve got a good while yet before I get to goal, but I think I will keep going on a lower dose for at least a year after I get there. I want to make sure all the habits are really embedded.

DarkForces · 20/04/2025 12:39

I've had a relaxed few days eating wise but been careful so it'll be interesting to see where my weight is. Too much wine! Enjoying a glass of rose in a sunny pub garden after a walk.

Congratulations on reaching your target weight! Fabulous effort!

There is a new book I mentioned upthread by Michael Moseley’s son Dr Jack Moseley entitled’Food Noise’ it might be worth a read to understand the science behind Food Noise?

Morning everyone! Happy Easter.

I am considering going up to 7.5mg for my next pen - how have people found the transition from 5 to 7.5?

I did 6.25mg for one week by counting the clicks from a 7.5mg pen but in the end 7.5mg was absolutely fine save for the fact that if I drink too much wine or fatty food in the same sitting I feel nauseous in the middle of the night - which is a scenario entirely of my own making..!

How is your food noise/suppression? I think if that is strong then there is no real need to move up but that’s just my opinion.

Happy Easter, everyone!

We're still visiting family, and I've realised that my mother is a classic feeder... I never realised how bad, but now that I don't really care about food, it's so extremely obvious!

I've no idea what my weight is going to be like when I get home tomorrow. Slightly nervous.

I've got another 3 to 7 kg to lose. I'm just in the healthy BMI range now, but I guess I need some buffer...

And in other news, DH just ordered his first Mounjaro pen. I'm not sure he'll cope if he gets side effects... I'll report back!

We’re all allowed to relax on holidays and special occasions, don’t let weight stress ruin a happy weekend my friend 🥰
