Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Weighing in and I woohsed this week after about a month of plateauing. Three pounds off this week and I'm back to an average loss of just under 2 pounds a week.

W24D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:16st 5lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 3st 4lb
I think I'm back to 2018 now, weightwise. Annoyingly I don't seem to have logged my weight that year but the lowest for 2019 was 16st 8 and the highest in 2017 was 15st 6

@Goodgriefisitginfizzoclock just yes, yes, yes to everything you've written. It's probably the reason I haven't got weights recorded for 2018, because once I went above the point I'd lost 4 stone from, I pretty much gave up trying.
I've always had a very strong Fuck It mode when it comes to weight loss - if I've done everything right but gained or plateaued it was triggered and I'd eat all the bad food. I've had tiny Fuck It's on mounjaro, but really tiny ones. That's probably as much of a game changer as the the weight loss itself.

Happy Friday and happy long weekend! I had a fab gym session this morning - 20 minute run on the Peleton to 90s tunes. Blooming love a run to banging tunes!

Then I dashed over to the beach to catch the morning swimmers and had hugs and brief catch ups in the sun with my swimming buddies. No swim for me today as I wasn't organised enough, but seeing the girls was the tonic I didn't know I needed 🥰

Eyebrows now waxed into submission and I'm planning to make a cheeky Easter cheesecake this afternoon. I could get used to these 4 day weeks!

Still not lost all of the 1 kg i gained overnight, but I'm surpringly logical about it (as I mentioned above). Previous me would be a McDonald's breakfast, 2 pastries and a bag of minstrels deep by now after putting on 1kg overnight with no apparent reason. And I'd be planning the most calorific takeaway I could, while eating crisps and biscuits all day. I'm flabbergasted at my reaction to be honest. Obviously I am a bit pissed off, but it's a blip. And the skinny trousers still fitted this morning, so the scales can do one!

Speaking of clothes, I couldn't settle on an outfit this morning. Nothing looked right, or sat right. Everything felt off. Then I remembered! I felt like this last time I lost a truckload of weight and I'm sure it's because I'm a different shape so my usual way of dressing just doesn't look or feel the same on my body. I think I'm probably in a funny in-between size too so nothing fits as it should or how i remember. But this too shall pass. Now I'm back in the gym, the wobbly bits will soon tone up and i even braved the big girl weights today!

Hope everyone has a lush weekend and those of us who are due a whoosh, find the Easter bunny brings one!

Wow, you’ve been busy! I’ve only just got up having watched the latest episode of your friends and neighbours on Apple TV starring my fave John Hamm 😍 and the latest episode of good American family on Disney+ (a quite chilling tale based on the real life experience of an American family). Just walking the dog now, he didn’t seem to mind the lie in 🤣

well done for not choosing to spiral over a minor weight gain! I agree with you it really does feel different this time doesn’t it?

That other thread looking at where does a maintenance program is really helpful! I have been thinking about it a lot (and stupidly didn’t book the appointment with Ousck when I started thinking about it ages ago because I didn’t get round to taking a photo). Luckily, someone posted a great list of Maintenance pharmacies with the weight/maintenance they will accept. Reposting here for anyone thinking about it!

This is good to know, thank you. I’m still a long way off maintenance, but I want to know in advance if I’ll need to swap providers as I get closer to it rather than hit target and no one then willing to take me on.

@Mounjaropen another £40 since I posted that, and I’ve spent about £400 of it. I’ve had 14 referrals just today. Mumsnet is a busy place the weekend of Easter it seems 😆

Fucking hell!
Any chance you'd can make use of it on anything else they sell?!? Do you have erectile dysfunction? Genital warts? Threadworm?

qotsa · 18/04/2025 19:45

Hahaha. @PinkArt I’ve had some multi vitamins. I ordered some azelaic acid and Dermol about two weeks ago and strangely they have a shipping problem from the new warehouse. Odd, as the 12.5 Mounjaro I ordered arrived as usual within 48 hours last week….. I think their priority is the old death jabs 😆 if only the £600 ish I’d spent already could’ve been used out of it …. and now I'm nearing the end. All being well obvs. Such a waste. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Saturday weigh in following 3 glasses of Rose wine, a few chocolate buttons, steak fajitas (tbf I did use large romaine lettuce leaves as wraps rather than tortillas) and no exercise other than a dog walk… result…lost 0.4lbs since yesterday 🤣

CW - 10st 9lbs
total losses since Nov - 44lbs

With a tail wind I will hopefully be 10st 7lbs next weekend in time for a Uni reunion. Still heavier than I was in 1991 but better than being 3 stones heavier than this weight 🥳

Ooh I’ll try the bio oil lotion next. I’m mixing it up with original bio oil and avene skin renewal at the moment. My order of tret from a link on this thread came yesterday so I’m going to start with that 2-3 times a week. I also got sucked into a led mask from a fb ad that now I’m not sure about. Thankfully they do have a 60 day money back guarantee so I can send it back if it doesn’t look like the real deal.

I played netball this week for the first time in almost 40 years. It was surprisingly tiring. Hit between 10–15k steps most days. I still need to be better at drinking water, taking collagen and weights.

well done with the positive mindset @SerenePeer it can be too easy to be knocked back by the scales or a bit of snacking. My body must know it’s Easter as I wanted (and had) some chocolate tonight!

Wee update, applied tret on Thursday night, my skin this morning is redder than usual, wearing factor 50 and not been exposed to sun so I suspect something is happening.
was planning on moving up to applying every second day but I think I will stay on every 3 days for another week.

Babymamamama · 19/04/2025 12:06

Morning morning all I’ve been silent on the thread for a bit…my weight has completely stabilised/stuck over the last month…just hovering around 65 kg with zero little whooshes as we say. So I bit the bullet and went up to 10mg this week. Omg first time ever I’ve felt stronger effects….no joke! But I’m hoping it settles and I can get another little whoosh. Then I’m going to have to start thinking of titrating down as I’m size 10 now and healthy bmi so don’t need to keep losing too much more. I’ve rejoined my gym so working more on muscle strength. Majority of my wardrobe too baggy now so really need to sort that out so I’m not endlessly rifling through big sized garments. Looking ahead I’m feeling I would want to microdose in the longer term. Are others on that mindset too?

Saturday Lessfatterday! There was a slight plateau over the last couple of weeks but a stern talking to myself and some perseverance has pushed me through so the weigh day results are in.

W23 D1
12.5mg dose
SW 16st 4lbs
CW 12st 6.8lbs
GW 10st(ish)
Total Loss 3st 11.2lbs
Average Weekly Loss 2.4lbs

NSV: I threw a size 18 dress on for work last week from the spring/summer end of the wardrobe and it was so big on me it wasn't wearable. So I grabbed another that fitted fine only to realise it was a size 14 that had escaped the 'moving my previously thin clothes into the spare room wardrobe when seeing them every day depressed me' cull. My job for this weekend is to now go through said wardrobe and pull off some switcheroos with the now too big stuff.

Plus 2 people at work commented on how I have skinny ankles. With no prior 'have you lost weight'? style chat. Straight in with the ankle shaming!

qotsa · 19/04/2025 13:31

@lovealongbath I don’t suppose you can post the link to Tret again could you. I’ve been looking into this as I have awful dark spots on my right cheek. They really bother me. I have a Phillips Lumea and was looking into doing a DIY jobby with that but have now read too many horror stories to try, especially on my face.

Ignore the rude people. I bet your ankles were absolutely fine before!
